Gateways and Broken Bridges
Sung Jinwoo may have been a hunter that climbed to the top on his own, but what happened in America 10 years before the start of Solo Leveling? For a little town that already handled portals and death, how does Team Phantom react to the onslaught of all these portals opening? - Gateways are opening up all over the world, and Danny and co are the first to adventure into one. What awaits them on the other side changes everything.
The first of the portals opens over the biggest of the megacities: Tokyo, Delhi, Shanghai, São Paulo, and Mexico City.
News stations, small and large, discuss and extrapolate what they could mean.
Within days, the swirling blue vortexes appear in small and big cities alike; New York City, Montreal, London, Dublin, Seol, etc.
The nations of the world began putting together task forces to study and ascertain what they could mean.
On the sixth day of the first one showing up, a new portal opens up in the city of Chicago, in the center of the O'Hare International Airport.
It is the very first one to open inside a building.
And the first to be larger than a double door.
Ominous blue light flickers and explodes out and around the swirling mists, reaching all the way to the ceiling and spreading out to fill the terminal passage.
It hits the front of headlines on local and international news.
Airlines have to be rerouted as it was shut down.
Travel and shipping routes became chaotic.
The private sector of corporations joins in the research, demanding answers.
However, whether it’s a blessing or a curse, because of its location, it becomes the first portal to be live streamed. A full 24/7 watch.
Late on the night of the second day after its appearance, the stream captures the first team to enter the portal.
An unofficial team that is not sponsored by any corporate or government.
A single child, one that flew and cast a brilliant white glow against the ominous blue, flies into frame. Following after is a strange flying spacecraft-like vehicle — something that most people would consider existing only in science fiction. The camera stream can’t see who piloted the craft nor how many persons it carried.
The figure turns to the craft, hands moving animatedly.
Slowly turning towards the camera.
It’s hard to capture the face of the being, the white and blue obscuring the child's details.
It traces something in the air with a hand, bright green letters taking shape.
We'll be right back.

Chinese port congestion resulting in increased solar project costs in India: Industry
New Delhi: The ongoing congestion of ships at the Chinese ports has resulted in increased solar project costs in India, according to industry executives and analysts.
The gap in the supply due to the non-movement of consignments has impacted the already increasing rate of inflation on solar modules, said Animesh Damani, managing partner at renewable energy consultancy, Artha Energy Resources.
“This directly leads to an increase in the working capital required and we are witnessing an overall increase in project costs by close to 0.7 per cent just on account of working capital,” Damani added.
According to Ritu Lal, senior vice-president and head – Institutional Relations, Amplus Solar, a Gurugram-based distributed energy firm, the Chinese port congestion has caused ripple effects in the global supply chain.
“From India’s perspective, the congestion negatively impacted the solar component shipments, in particular modules and solar cells. Considering India\u0027s dependency on China for solar components, the delays due to the congestion burdened the already soaring shipping costs post-pandemic even further… Project execution timelines were also adversely impacted,” she said.
Lal added that in the short-to-medium-term, supply-side issues and fluctuating freight tariffs will remain a concern. However, if the Production-Linked Incentive scheme does lead to significant capacities of integrated end-to-end solar module manufacturing domestically, India’s reliance on Chinese imports in this area will come down significantly in the future.
There are multiple reasons for the ongoing congestion, according to Damani.
Firstly, COVID-19 induced closures and curbs have resulted in a lack of adequate workforce and machinery at the significant Chinese ports of Shanghai and Ningbo.
There are stringent quarantine measures in place for the crew onboard the ships when they enter China, which compounds the problem and adds to the lead time. There was a vast industry backlog created due to the power shortage crisis, which resulted in lots of shipments getting bunched up together as the power situation eased.
“We were informed that many ships were waiting in line at the ports to dock, but due to congestion, some were diverted elsewhere, which further added to the problem of vessel availability. It resulted in additional work and time for canceling and rebooking other available vessels,” he added.
India meets over 90 per cent of its solar module requirements from China. Over 60-70 per cent of raw material is imported from China by domestic manufacturers who assemble modules here.
According to Gagan Vermani, founder and chief executive officer of MYSUN, a Noida-based rooftop solar firm, the supply chain disruption directly impacts the project costs. He said this has created a ripple effect in the ecosystem of exports, thus leading to higher freight pricing and an overall imbalance.
“The uncertainty in the system has led to the insecurity of the supply chain, delayed timelines and increased costs and with the impending basic customs duty wef April 1, 2022, this port congestion makes it an additional worry for the developers,” added Vermani.
According to Pranesh Chaudhary, founder and chief executive officer of Zunpulse, an energy product company and part of the residential solar rooftop firm Zunroof, the hindrances caused due to the congestion in the Chinese port is a matter of great concern. This notable delay in procuring the solar panels has led to an increase in procurement prices and therefore an undeniable rise in project costs.
“Given that China is the major hub for the shipping industry, the congestion in the Chinese port due to the COVID-19 restrictions surely has hampered the supply chain affecting numerous solar projects across the globe,” he said.
He further added that this was an opportunity for building on India’s domestic strengths and relying on domestic solar players.
“This perfectly lays a strong case for strengthening our domestic solar production capacity. And the domestic solar installers should now prefer domestically produced solar panels,” he added.
Current situation at the Chinese ports
The situation has not improved dramatically and its impact is tremendous, according to Artha Energy. The ports are functioning better than before, but there is an increased workload due to the upcoming Christmas season for North America and Europe markets, increasing demand on containers and shipping lines until the end of December 2021.
“We would expect the new year to see some relief, but it would mainly be on the evolution of the COVID-19 situation in China. Moreover, the upcoming Chinese New Year holidays starting from February 2022 and Winter Olympics in February 2022 will lead to an increased workload for January 2022,” Damani added.
Apart from this, the developers are worried about the impending basic customs duty implementation from 1 April 2022 as that would require them to import larger consignments than before to avoid paying 40 per cent duty.
Regarding the impact on shipping costs due to this issue, Damani added that they have already been elevated since September. From the highs of $9,000 for a 40 high cube container, the cost has come down to the levels of $6,200 to $6,300 levels - which is still extremely high when compared to the pre-COVID times. The tariffs are expected to stay within $6,200-$7,500 for the next month.
He said that more cuts in tariffs are expected, but the price has remained constant at the said levels, a significant negative.

8 Nov 2017 Woods Bagot’s London studio advice
Woods Bagot’s London studio advises Australian residential market on Build to Rent
Principal Jonathan Clarke and Associate Principal Simon Saint from Woods Bagot’s London residential team have completed a two-week tour of Australia sharing their knowledge of the build-to-rent (BTR) market in the UK. Earmarked as the next global location to adopt the rental model with an estimated $300 billion investment forecasted, the London team visited two of Australia’s largest cities, Melbourne and Sydney to educate key players in the Australian property market and decision makers.
Key to Woods Bagot’s success in the BTR market in the UK is their commitment to people focused design and this was a key message during their time in Australia. A relatively new phenomenon in the UK, Build to Rent is creating 95,918 new homes and has changed the landscape for urban cities, supporting a global shift in people’s views on home ownership. Jonathan comments on the change in approach for citymakers and developers: “This is a new model for city living which demands a new approach to marketing, funding and management; BTR operators need to think of their portfolio as a brand and something that people will want to come and be a part of”.
In addition to end user based design, Jonathan and Simon argued that amenities are integral to the success of BTR schemes. Jonathan comments on the importance of flexibility; “It is essential for end users and the durability of BTR that these homes provide personality and flexible amenities that contribute to the community. Developers need to create flexible space which can be modified with the emergence of new trends and they need to understand their tenants’ mindsets to keep them from jumping ship to another scheme”.
Simon argued that this end user focus needs to stretch to every generation; “Build to rent schemes shouldn’t just be for the younger communities. In the UK, retirement living has also seen a big change in mindset and the housing market is needing to adapt to this quickly. Retirees no longer want to be miles away from a city and in their own little bubble, they want to enjoy being part of a community and live the same lifestyle they have been accustomed to. Creating communities that can interact with one another is also key to Build to Rent schemes”.
In addition to meeting with State Government agencies, Jonathan and Simon met with Western Australia’s Minister for Housing, the Honourable Peter Tinley AM MLA, the Department of Planning, Lands and Heritage and the Metropolitan Redevelopment Authority, as well as speaking at the build-to-rent Property Council of Australia Business Lunch in Sydney.
Woods Bagot London designed projects for both Quintain and Essential Living and conducted extensive research into the rental model. For further information, visit the following link – https://ift.tt/2GNCmpo.

Mirvac is well known for high end residential developments, so when Woods Bagot set about designing their new workplace it was natural to look at high end domestic interiors for inspiration. Through conducting a series of workshops to extract the new vision workspace, a series of recommendations were created.

Brisbane’s new Pony restaurant is about indulging the senses and the theatrical staging of food preparation for the charcoal grill. The design narrative is built around the ‘farrier’ or blacksmithing, incorporating raw materials and featuring a two-metre steel ribbon winds that through the space, implying metal that can forged.

Glowing orb to be made from construction cones for Vivid Sydney 2013
A team of designers from Woods Bagot’s Sydney studio introduces Planet Under Construction – or PUC
PUC (Planet Under Construction), a light installation by a team from Woods Bagot’s Sydney studio, has been selected as part of this year’s Vivid Sydney: the Southern Hemisphere’s largest annual festival of light, music and ideas with an estimated half a million attendees.
Planet Under Construction – or PUC: image : Woods Bagot, architects
Made of orange construction cones to symbolise our architectural work, Planet Under Construction – or PUC – is a spherical lighting sculpture that mimics a planet. This celestial body features orange peaks as “volcanoes” that speak of energy and renewal.
Lights at its core will escape through cracks and holes in the structure, reacting to the sound of the passing train, and lighting patterns will be triggered by sensors around its base, creating a public interactive element.
PUC is situated near the corner of George and Alfred Street under the Cahill Expressway in Circular Quay, making it an important marker near the point of entrance to the event for visitors coming from the train station and the city.
Vivid Sydney runs from 24 May – 10 June 2013. To find out more visit www.vividsydney.com Find out more about PUC: https://ift.tt/19xsSo2

Selfie-snapping Bolsonaro defies coronavirus advice: Live updates | News
Hello and welcome to Al Jazeera’s continuing coverage of the coronavirus pandemic. I’m Kate Mayberry in Kuala Lumpur.
Brazil’s President Jair Bolsonaro continues to defy social-distancing rules, joining a demonstration outside his office on Sunday and posing for selfies with supporters even as health ministry data shows the country’s outbreak deepening.
Spain has reported a daily death toll below 100 for the first time in two months, while Italy’s was the lowest since the start of its lockdown.
US President Donald Trump hit back at his predecessor, Barack Obama, for being “grossly incompetent” after Obama criticised the Trump administration’s handling of the coronavirus pandemic. Obama told college graduates in an online address that the pandemic showed many officials “aren’t even pretending to be in charge”.
Globally, there have been more than 4.7 million known cases of COVID-19, and nearly 315,000 people have died, according to Johns Hopkins University. Just over 1.7 million people have recovered.
Here are all the latest updates:
Monday, May 18
04:40 GMT – Fiji judge quashes social gathering convictions
Fiji High Court Judge Justice Salesi Temo has quashed 49 of 51 cases relating to breaches of curfew and social distancing restrictions, saying the penalties imposed by the lower court were cruel, degrading and, or, disproportionately severe, according to a report in the Fiji Sun.
Justice Temo noted that many of those convicted had been fined, but lacked the means to pay the fine and whose livelihoods had been adversely affected by the coronavirus pandemic.
“Most were unemployed or subsistence farmers,” the judge said. “If they were working they were not earning that much in a week. Most of them pleaded guilty on the first call, and most were first offenders.”
04:25 GMT – Coronavirus probe calls intensify ahead of World Health Assembly meeting
The World Health Assembly (WHA) is due to start a key meeting in a few hours time, and calls for an independent probe into the coronavirus pandemic are growing.
Australia says more than 100 countries, including 50 African nations and all European Union member states, are backing a resolution calling for an investigation.
There is also pressure on the assembly over Taiwan, which is pushing to be heard in the face of Chinese opposition. Read more here.

04:05 GMT – El Salvador emergency declaration challenged
El Salvador’s Attorney General has challenged a presidential decree declaring a state of emergency as unconstitutional.
President Nayib Bukele announced the extension on Saturday without securing the backing of lawmakers.
Bukele, a 38-year-old who was elected last year, maintains he is within his rights.
“All presidents in the democratic history of our country have had the power to declare a state of emergency and have exercised it, without legislative approval,” he said.
In a televised speech to the nation on Sunday he urged all arms of the government to come together to tackle the coronavirus.
03:25 GMT – Honduras extends blanket curfew
Honduras has extended a blanket curfew for a week.
The curfew was first imposed in mid-March to avoid the coronavirus overwhelming the country’s health system and will now remain in force until May 24.
02:45 GMT – Malaysia parliament opens single-day session showing support for front liners
Malaysia’s parliament started a one-day session on Monday by giving a standing ovation to the country’s front line workers.
Led by the King, MPs, Senators and guests joined in the applause.
Parliament will sit for a single day with the King’s speech the only item on the agenda. It is the first time the house has sat since a power grab in late February that led to the resignation of Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad, and the collapse of the Pakatan Harapan government. After a week of turmoil, the King appointed Muhyiddin Yassin prime minister, saying he believed he had the support of a majority of MPs.

02:00 GMT – South Korea reports 15 new cases as club cluster eases
South Korea has reported 15 new cases of coronavirus with signs the cluster centred around a Seoul clubbing district is slowing.
The Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (KCDC) says five of the cases were locally-acquired, with the remainder imported, according to Yonhap news agency.
One new death was reported bringing the total to 263.
01:40 GMT – China reports seven new coronavirus cases
China’s National Health Commission has reported seven new cases of coronavirus, two of them in the northeastern province of Jilin where a partial lockdown is in place.
Shanghai also had one case, while the rest were confirmed among travellers returning from overseas in Inner Mongolia.
01:30 GMT – Leading economists in Australia back social distancing
A new survey shows Australian economists overwhelmingly support social distancing measures to slow the spread of the coronavirus.
The first Economic Society of Australia-Conversation poll asked 43 of the country’s leading economists whether they agreed, disagreed, strongly agreed or strongly disagreed with the proposition below:
The benefits to Australian society of maintaining social distancing measures sufficient to keep R less than one for COVID-19 are likely to exceed the costs.
Almost three quarters backed the proposition, 23 of them “strongly”. Only nine disagreed.
R is the repoduction number for the virus and measures the average number of other people someone who already has coronavirus will infect. When R is below one, the outbreak will begin to peter out.
01:00 GMT – UN chief calls on Bangladesh to move Rohingya back to camps
UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres is calling on Bangladesh to move Rohingya refugees held on a flood-prone island after being rescued from ships stranded at sea to be returned to the main refugee camps.
Bangladesh says the 308 Rohingya were sent to Bhashan Char island because of coronavirus concerns.
“While those rescued at sea may be quarantined for public health purposes, they must also be extended the protection they deserve as refugees,” Guterres said in a letter to Bangladesh’s foreign minister A.K. Abdul Momen that was obtained by AFP.
“I trust that they too will benefit from the humanitarian services offered to the Rohingya in Bangladesh and that, at the end of their quarantine period, they will be allowed to return to their families in Cox’s Bazar.”
Four cases of coronavirus have so far been detected in the camps. Read more on the story here.

00:00 GMT – Bolsonaro defies coronavirus advice with selfies
Brazil’s President Jair Bolsonaro continues to defy advice on social distancing even as the coronavirus outbreak in Brazil worsens.
On Sunday he posed for selfies with at least three children picked out from a crowd of supporters who had congregated outside the presidential palace, Reuters news agency reported.
In an online video, Bolsonaro said he welcomed the demonstration.
“Above all (the people) want freedom, they want democracy, they want respect,” he said.
Health Ministry figures from Sunday night showed 7,938 new cases in Brazil bringing the total above 241,000. A further 485 people died, lifting the death toll to 16,118.
23:30 GMT (Sunday) – Hong Kong nationals arrive home after evacuation flight from India
A group of 249 Hong Kong residents stranded in India have arrived back home on a chartered flight.
The plane left New Delhi at about 11pm on May 17 local time (17:30 GMT), according to a Hong Kong government statement. The passengers include seven children under two years of age. They will all be required to undergo COVID-19 testing and spend 14 days in compulsory quarantine.

Chinese ship detained in Gujarat port nearly slipped away to Pakistan - india news
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/65376dfd5803fa7a9e8694382a1bb21d/d0cfd4b4e47aebb4-eb/s540x810/c7f0a102d2d9c28fd2c20d46c521574180ccf273.jpg)
The Chinese ship, detained in Kandla port for wrongly declaring an autoclave which can also be used in the manufacture of missiles as a dryer, almost managed to leave Indian shores on the intervening night of February 4 and 5 for its final destination, Port Qasim in Karachi, Pakistan.Hindustan Times first reported on Monday that the merchant vessel (MV) Da Cui Yun had been detained by Indian customs officials at Deendayal Port, formerly known as Kandla Port, for allegedly carrying an autoclave, and also mis-declaring it.Customs officials seized the suspect cargo from the vessel, which flies a Hong Kong flag, on Monday even though the crew are still on board. The ship, which reached Kandla on February 3, has been moved away from Jetty 16, where it was berthed earlier, to the anchorage area of the port.A port official familiar with the matter said on Tuesday that there was a strong chance of the ship’s papers also being seized. “The next course of action depends on the government,” the official added on condition of anonymity.A team from the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) is examining the cargo.HT has learnt that the ship almost got away with its precious cargo.Kandla Port authorities issued the crucial “no-objection certificate” after verifying it had no dues as per the norm. An “onward-sailing memo” was issued for February 4, a second senior port official said on condition of anonymity. A pilot to guide the 166.6-metre-long 20,949-tonne ship out of the harbour was put on standby at the request of the MV Da Cui Yun.“Suddenly, however, there was a flurry of activity. Senior Kandla Port officials got calls from New Delhi. Officials of the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) and other security agencies reached Kandla,” the second official added.HT learns that officials from the national security establishment were part of the team. The customs authorities, who were about to issue final clearance for the vessel to set sail, backed off. “On February 5, a ship chandler put in a request to bar the pilot and the vessel out of the harbour,” the second official said. “The DRDO report will be crucial in determining the next step,” said a third official, who asked not to be named. On February 3, MV Da Cui Yun arrived in Kandla and immediately offloaded 2,480 tonne of machinery, even though Kandla Port authorities had been expecting the vessel to arrive on January 31. But such delays are common in shipping. The ship was clearly aiming to leave soon.“Medical certificates of the crew — a mandatory requirement — was filed much in advance by their agents to secure necessary port clearances,” the second official said. While DRDO scientists examine the equipment, investigators are also interested in the ship’s charter. Prior to sailing from Jiangyin port on the Yangtze river in China’s Jiangsu province, the vessel was harboured in Shanghai for five days and also passed through Nantong Port in Jiangsu province.“In the current context, the visit to these ports could hold clues,” the third official said. The tip-off, HT learns, came from Hong Kong to the highest levels of Indian intelligence. Indian operatives are believed to have sent a message that the ship could be carrying dual-use technology products — those that can be used for both civilian and military purposes. The US has also been maintaining a close watch on the Chinese shipping companies after it imposed sanctions on Iran, but it isn’t immediately clear whether the US provided any intelligence. The US had also imposed sanctions on some of the Chinese shipping companies. After the ship was prevented from leaving, an inspection by the customs department found that the “ declaration (on the nature of cargo) wasn’t matching,” a fourth senior official at Kandla port said on condition of anonymity. “Prima facie, it appears the vessel violated the Special Chemicals, Organisms, Materials, Equipment and Technologies (Scomet) regulations,” this person added.Category 4 and 5 of the Scomet regulations deal with the transport of dual-use technology, especially those that can be used for the production of nuclear warheads. The regulations were introduced after the UN confirmed that Iraq had used chemical weapons on Iran during the Iran-Iraq war. The regulations are designed to control the export and prevent the proliferation of technologies and equipment which can be used in the manufacture or disposal of chemical and biological weapons. Dual-use items are also considered contributors to the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction (WMD). Read the full article

The battle to liberate planet Earth is reaching a dangerous stage as the Khazarian mafia uses bioweapons to try and start a war between the United States and China. However, this plan is backfiring because both the Chinese and the white hats in the military-industrial complex know exactly who is behind the bioweapon attacks on China and now Africa. https://dailypost.ng/2020/02/07/benue-killer-disease-a-mystery-its-not-ebola-lassa-fever-or-coronavirus-nigerian-govt/

Of course, the world is not buying the story that this is a naturally occurring coronavirus. The Muslims know what is going on, as do the Russians and the Indians. So does everybody else, except a shrinking group of brainwashed sheeple in the West.

No matter what though, the U.S. and China are not going to be fooled into going to war with each other. This can be seen, for example, in an official Xinhua news report about a call Chinese President Xi Jinping had with U.S. President Donald Trump that was requested by the U.S. side. Trump said, “The United States fully supports China’s fight against the novel coronavirus epidemic, and is willing to send experts to China and offer assistance in various other forms.” http://www.xinhuanet.com/english/2020-02/07/c_138763551.htm
We are also hearing that this could have been an insider trading double-play like 9/11, also done by the Zionists. Who benefited in the City of London, Wall Street, and Hong Kong and Tokyo stock exchanges? https://www.justice.gov/opa/pr/harvard-university-professor-and-two-chinese-nationals-charged-three-separate-china-related
In what may have been a retaliatory attack, HIV expert Dr. Frank Plummer who was “recognized for leadership roles in the Sars, H1N1 flu and Ebola epidemics,” died suddenly on February 4th.
https://www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-51317386
However, there may be an even more sinister aspect to the attack on China that is related to a rogue artificial intelligence. Just before the virus outbreak in Wuhan, the city installed 10,000 5G base stations. As we have reported before, 5G technology was experimented with in South Africa for mass mind control. In other words, the entire situation in Wuhan may be an experiment in mass mind control using the epidemic as a pretext. http://www.xinhuanet.com/english/2019-10/31/c_138517734.htm
One way to see if we are dealing with a situation caused by a rogue AI is to determine the origin of the now-viral picture showing the similarities between the fictitious Umbrella Corporation of the Resident Evil games and movies, and a Shanghai (not Wuhan as we mistakenly reported last week) based “Bao Hu San” (Chinese for umbrella) biotech corporation.

What needs to be determined now is if the Chinese company is real or if this is just digital mind manipulation. If the company is real, the next thing to investigate is who financed it. It’s a good bet the trail will lead to the Mega group of Zionist oligarchs. https://judas.watch/The_Mega_Group
The Chinese economy is 17% of the world economy and deeply integrated into international supply chains. The air purifier your office needs
Can a simple fan and filter really clean large spaces? Can it be utilized like other air purifiers in offices?
Seven years ago, Smart Air started when PhD student Thomas strapped together a DIY air purifier to survive a polluted Beijing winter.
Founder Thomas Talhelm‘s first DIY air purifier
Thomas published test data on the purifier showing that it worked, then shared to the world how others can make their own. Soon, the media started writing about the simple DIY air purifier, and Thomas launched Smart Air to ship these low-cost purifiers to people all over China.
Now people are using Smart Air purifiers in larger spaces, like offices and classrooms. But is a simple fan and filter enough?
A DIY Air Purifier in Schools, Offices and Nurseries?
The DIY is a proof of concept-that, at their core, air purifiers are just fans and filters. Armed with that basic knowledge, Smart Air’s aeronautical engineer Paddy scaled up the DIY to create the Blast and Blast Mini.
The Blast takes the same principle as the DIY purifier, but puts out nearly 10 times the amount of clean air. And here’s the secret: they’re also just fans and filters. The only difference is they’re built into a sturdy metal frame, have a whopping 22sqm of HEPA filter area, and are quieter than your average air conditioner. That’s why the Blast and Blast Mini are powering clean air in hundreds of new buildings in countries around the world.
So Who’s Actually Using Smart Air to Breathe Safe?
Over 50 organizations in different countries are using the Blasts to breathe safe. Here are just a few.
BBC Offices in Beijing, Hong Kong, and Delhi
The BBC approached Smart Air to help filter out their newly rennovated Beijing office. They were facing Beijing’s annual airpocalypse, as well as high VOC and formaldehyde levels. The Blasts do just the trick for filtering out PM2.5 and formaldehyde.
Daycare Centers
Morecare Daycare Beijing, Xi’an, Shenzhen, and maternal health care orgnization Milkway installed the Blasts in their daycares to help protect the infants and parents from air pollution.
Schools in Over 5 Countries
Tianjin Haileybury College and EtonHouse International School Nanjing have partnered with us to bring clean air to their teachers and students. Even one school as far as Kyrgystan is using the Blasts to filter out PM2.5 for their students.
Here’s a snap of our India team installing Blasts in a school in Delhi. The parents of the school crowdfunded enough money to install 80 Blasts – enough for every classroom. That’s a lot of clean air!
Corporate Offices
Blasts are powering clean air in the offices of the French Supermarket Chain Auchan in Shanghai; Ford Motors and food delivery startup Zomato in Delhi; and SkyNews in Beijing.
Universities
Some offices have central air systems that they want to retrofit a purifier to. Hence, Smart Air helped retrofit the central air system at The University of Chicago Delhi Center (read more) to pump clean air throughout the entire space. (Hint: a central air system is just a fancy way of saying we installed air purifiers in the ceiling!).
Hospitals and Clinics
The Smart Air Philippines and Mongolia teams have partnered with local hospitals and clinics to install our Blasts in their ICU emergency rooms.

New York Travel Guide: A Taste of Midtown
Planning a trip to New York City? Join me for our family’s picks on places to eat, sleep and visit while in Midtown New York in this New York Travel Guide. I am excited to share some hometown favorites with you AND collaborate with my very own brother, Andre Legaspi, who is a talented NYC-based street and lifestyle photographer. Photos by Andre Legaspi Photography.

My New York Travel Guide is long overdue. I was born and raised in New York, and head back regularly to visit family and friends, and of course, for work. I try to keep a finger on the pulse of the city and check out what’s new (and what is still around), so it’s about time I shared some of my must-sees with you. As a New York native who now calls California home, I offer a perspective that comes from someone who loves and misses her hometown and feels like a tourist at the same time.
Let’s start with A Taste of Midtown, shall we? Midtown may not have the cool factor of lower Manhattan, but between you and me, it’s my favorite. The light is brighter, the streets make sense, there’s always a show to catch, and my offices used to be in midtown, so I feel like I know it best.
Stay
My favorite place to stay when visiting as a family of four is the Andaz 5th Avenue. Across the street from the New York Public Library, it’s away from the zoo that is Times Square, but within walking distance to so many locations, particularly Broadway theatres and Grand Central Station. The suites are roomy, with little kitchenettes, and the food and room service is superb.
The London NYC is another gem. This hotel used to be an apartment building, making its all-suite rooms spacious by NYC hotel standards.
Eat & Drink
Have ramen at Ippudo Westside. Don’t forget the pork buns!
The Oyster Bar at Grand Central Station has been serving up oysters and seafood since 1913.
Indian Accent serves up a taste of New Delhi inside the beautiful Le Parker Meridien.
For more casual Indian food, check out Bengal Tiger. This tiny gem used to be a favorite when I was working in the area.
If you won’t be going into Flushing, stop into Joe’s Shanghai for some slurp-worthy soup dumplings. The crab soup dumplings are the best.
Start your day with bagels and lox! If you’re on the west side, head to Best Bagel & Coffee (love their non-dairy schmears!). On the east side, go to Ess-a-Bagel. My husband loves to surprise us by bringing home a dozen when he goes back. They ship, too!
Grab pastrami on rye and a knish at the Carnegie Deli.
Tim Ho Wan is now in Midtown! No need to fly to Hong Kong for dim sum and barbecue pork buns, though you will definitely have to wait.
Serendipity 3 – if decadence is what you’re after, this is your place. Back in the day, my friends and I would stop in just for dessert and order the Outrageous Banana Split — it was HUGE, and this was before Instagrammable desserts were a thing.
Sarabeth’s has been a favorite for brunch for decades!
Magnolia Bakery has grown since they opened their first store in NYC, but if you’re craving something sweet, why not pop in for their famed banana pudding?
Bibble & Sip – craving cream puffs? Stop in for a sweet treat and a coffee, maybe before catching a show?
Check out Eclair Bakery for a taste of Paris in New York!
Danji for delicious Korean! Try the shrimp and scallion pancakes, beef sliders, pork belly sliders, egg over rice, and tofu ginger scallion dressing. Perfect place to grab dinner before watching a show!
Explore The Plaza Food Hall, downstairs in the Plaza Hotel — you can find everything from doughnuts to lobster, and everything in between. You can do a whole food crawl in this spot alone.
Whenever I’m in a rush, I look for a Halal Guys food truck (street food various locations). It’s a great way to get your gyro or falafel fix.
I’m guessing you’re looking for a slice of pizza while in Midtown…so stop in NY Pizza Suprema near Penn Station.
Need your bubble tea fix? Go to ViVi Bubble Tea on 7th, Gong Cha on E44th or Kung Fu Tea in Koreatown.
Looking for vegan food? We love P.S. Kitchen – perfectly located in the Theater District for dinner before a show, the food is absolutely delicious and all profits are donated to charity. Blossom in Chelsea has been a vegan standby, and there’s also a wonderful location on the Upper West Side. For fast vegan food, by CHLOE has several locations throughout Manhattan, including one in Rockefeller Center.
Craving fresh produce? Just around the corner from the United Nations Plaza, the Dag Hammarskjold Plaza Greenmarket is open every Wednesday and is host to farmers from the tri-state area.

See & Do
Catch a Broadway show.
The New York Public Library is worth a peek, especially for book lovers.
Bryant Park is one of my favorite spots and is right behind the New York Public Library. If you’re in New York during the summer, stop by Bryant Park for their outdoor movie nights. Winter brings ice skating. I used to eat many picnic lunches here back in the day!
Top of the Rock for the views! And if it’s Christmas, take in the twinkling tree and go for a skate in Rockefeller Center.
Catch a performance at Radio City Music Hall. If it’s the holidays, you can see the Christmas Spectacular with the Radio City Rockettes!
Even if you’re not catching a train, stop into Grand Central Terminal. There are tons of eateries housed in the beautiful terminal.
Explore the exhibits at the Museum of Modern Art.
Go shopping! Flagship stores abound, from the three B’s (Bloomingdales, Barneys New York, Bergdorf Goodman) to Saks 5th Avenue. Plus, there are The Shops at Columbus Circle if you’re looking for a mall that happens to have high-end restaurants such as Masa and Per Se.
Sneak away from the urban jungle and stroll along the High Line. The High Line stretches down into Chelsea and Lower Manhattan, which is where we’ll pick up the guide again next time!

Duke Reviews: Indiana Jones And The Temple Of Doom
Hello, I'm Andrew Leduc And Welcome To Duke Reviews Where We Continue Indiana Jones Month...
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/133b27f62eb7954babc3a05536632d33/tumblr_pl02gwzVOT1v9cpop_540.jpg)
With My Least Favorite Movie Of The Indiana Jones Series, Indiana Jones And The Temple Of Doom..
This Film Has Dr. Jones Going After The Sankara Stones With The Help Of A Lounge Singer (Who's Sleeping With The Director) And One Of The Goonies, While Also Saving Kids From A Village From An Evil Cult That Worships Said Stones...
I Know, It's A Serious Mouthful To Take, So, Let's Dive On Into Indiana Jones And The Temple Of Doom...
Reminder, SPOILER ALERT...
And If You Have The Film, Please Turn It On And Watch It With This Review...
Our Film Opens With....(Sigh) A Musical Number...
But Seriously, This Film Opens In Shanghai, In A Place Called Club Obi-Wan....
Where Indy Meets With The Owner Of The Club, Lao Che, Who Is Interested In An Artifact That Indy Has Found...
And It's Here, We Meet Our Love Interest For This Film Willie Scott, And God, Is She Annoying!!!!
However, Indy Is Not Playing Games Demanding Some Diamond For Nurhatchi....
However, They Poison Indy's Drink Saying They'll Only Give Him The Antidote For The Diamond But Indy Has An Ace Up His Sleeve...
A Sucky Ace!
This Pisses Indy Off To No End, Leading To A Fight Scene At Club Obi-Wan...
(Groans)
While Dodging A Hail Of Gunfire, Indy And Willie Jump Out Of The Window, Landing Into A Car Driven By Data Of The Goonies...
They're Chased By Some Of Lao Che's Men Through The Streets Of Shanghai
Hi, Dan Ackroyd, Looking Forward To Reviewing Ghostbusters In The Future!
But It Appears Our Heroes Are Not Out Of Trouble Yet As The Plane Is Owned By Lao Che, Who Has Ordered The Pilots To Abandon Ship Around The Mountains Of Asia...
Thus, They Have No Choice But To Abandon Ship...
Now, Some People Say That This Scene Is Crazier Than Surviving A Nuclear Blast In A Fridge But It's Still Freaking Aweome And I Just Love This Scene
Surviving Their River Ride, They Meet The Shaman Of A Local Village That Has Been Ravaged By Destruction...
I'm Sorry, I Don't Understand Zombie...
Indy Talks With The Shaman About The Possibility Of A Guide To Get Them To Delhi So, He Can Get Back To His College Job But The Shaman Insists That They First Stop At Pankot Palace
The Shaman Tells Indy That The People Of Pankot Palace Came And Took A Sacred Stone That Protected Their Village. After They Refused To Pray To Their God. Which Then Shortly Caused Things To Die Around Them...
That Night After A Kid Shows Up And Dies In Their Village, Indy Discovers That What The Shaman Was Talking About Is One Of The Lost Sankara Stones, Leading Indy To Give In And Investigate...
God, Jar Jar Binks Wasn't As Bad As This!
But Despite Willie's Annoying Screaming During The Trip We Do Learn A Little About The Sankara Stones Here...
The Next Morning They Arrive At Pankot Palace, To Be Greeted By Their Prime Minister, Who Allows Them To Stay The Night...
They Meet The Maharajah During Dinner Which From What I See, Would Make Me Throw Up
After Dinner, We Get Some Scenes Of Flirting And Sexual Tension From Our Leads, Which Is Worth Skipping Before Coming To This...
Unbelievable! A Lamp Falls Over And The Kid's Still Out, If I Heard A Lamp Fall I'd Be Like "What The Hell!?!"
Entering Willie's Room, Indy Finds A Secret Passageway For Him And Shorty To Investigate But, They End Up In A Trap Which Shorty Activates, Leaving It Up To Willie To Save Them...
You're Pretty Screwed, Indy...
Of Course, She Saves Them After Screaming For The Umptenth Time And They Continue Looking Through The Cave Coming Across...
This Set Is Probably One Of The Most Scariest Darkest Sets I've Ever Seen In A Film. Seriously WTF That Statue Alone Was Enough To Get Me...
Going Over To Steal The Sankara Stones After The Ceremony, Indy And Company Get Captured, As The Leader Of The Cult, Mola Ram Gets Indy Some Sacred Blood Which Turns Him Evil, As The Next Ceremony Gets Underway With Willie As The Next Sacrifice...
Are They Finally Gonna Kill Her?
Unfortunately They Don't Because Shorty Comes To The Rescue Turning Indy Back To Normal So He Can Save Willie...
Getting A Change Of Clothes, Indy And Company Free The Kids As They Deal With The Guards, Except For One Guard Which Indy Fights But The Majarajah Is Under The Same Blood Indy Was Under And Uses His Voodoo Powers To Prevent Indy From Winning....
With The Way This Movie's Going, I Wouldn't Be Surprised If He Had Tikis In The Background Saying That He Has Friends On The Other Side...
But Shorty Frees The Majarajah Like He Did Indy, With The Majarajah Telling Shorty To Take The Left Tunnel But Does Indy Listen, Hell No!
But I Will Say That The Minecart Scene Is One Of The Better Scenes In The Movie
However As We Get Through This Great Scene, Mola Ram Decides To Flood The Tunnels In An Attempt To Kill Our Heroes, But They Make It Out Okay Just To Have One More Confrontation With Mola Ram And His Forces On The Bridge...
But To Put Things Short, Mola Ram Is Defeated And Indy And The Others Return The Stone And The Kids To The Village As Indy And Willie Unfortunately Live Happily Ever After...
And That's Indiana Jones And The Temple Of Doom And Boy, Is It A Mixed Bag!
Some Parts Are Good, While Others Are Either Annoying, Stupid Or Batshit Scary. Harrison Ford Is Always Good As Indy And I Have No Clue Why People Hate Short Round Because Unlike Willie I Had No Problem With Him. Bad Points, However Go To Mola Ram And Willie With Willie, You Know The Reason, Mola Ram, However, I Felt Didn't Live Up To Bellaq And The Nazis, Plus He Didn't Feel Like A Threat To Me He Just Felt Like A Bad Looney Tunes Character, Still, However, I Say See It...
Till Next Time, This Is Duke, Signing Off...

4589 and 111
Yes the same as before. km and # of rides.
This is the rump end of the season. My average over the past 14 years is 112 rides. My average total distance for 14 years will be passed in 256 km. I am doing fine. Things will slow down with the coming dark. I may hit the predicted over 6000 number.
The fires in California and Oregon have sent smoke up here for the past week. It is rather amazing. It is now across to the East Coast. I have not been pushing hard as this fine smoke is not healthy. Apparently we have had worse air quality than New Delhi and Shanghai. The sky has looked just like one of those post apocalyptic movies. It was brown orange and you could only see a few km. Where there are mountains to the North and an Island across the straight there was nothing but haze. In the evening we hear fog horns on ships.
It has been getting better. The sky was bluish straight up yesterday and much brighter. It has rained a bit which helps. We joke that it is not even our smoke. Two years ago we had some epic fires of our own, the smoke was as bad, but it cleared out pretty fast.
Trees are pretty but they like to burn.
Life goes on in the fire and smoke and plague. It could be worse I guess. It is for a lot of people.
I just gonna keep pedaling.
