Paris...
"I think we should plan on meeting with the Prime Minister," Madeleine studied the latest itinerary, "and with the Foreign Minister."
She grimaced at their already tight schedule for the next couple of weeks.
"Perhaps we could do a luncheon before we leave for Shanghai."
She glanced up at the silent man beside her and waited on his approval.
Liam had his chin propped up on his fist as he watched the streets of Paris go by in a blur. His mind was nowhere near where a newly crowned king's should be. He instead was stuck in a daydream of what this engagement tour could be like if he'd been free to choose the woman he wanted.
His lips slightly curved at the thought. He knew that meeting with Heads of State would have taken a backseat if Riley was his fiancee. He'd have ignored his duty to show her just how romantic Paris can be if one was with the perfect person.
How had he been so fortunate to find the one meant for him and yet equally as unfortunate to be denied her?
"Your majesty?" Madeleine said a bit louder.
Liam jumped over hearing the slight shrill sound of her irritated voice.
"Pardon me." He mumbled. "Did you say something?"
Madeleine huffed before launching into another round of reminding him of his duty.
"Does that change in schedule agree with you?" She prompted when he remained silent.
"Yes, of course." He responded.
Liam knew there was little else he could say. He might be king with all the power that came with it, but he knew it was nothing more than an illusion. No one was more tightly bound with little say in anything than he was.
Madeleine eyed him silently after adding their latest event.
"Is something wrong?" She asked.
Liam blinked. He couldn't recall her ever caring what type of mood he was in. He must be more despondent than usual if Madeleine noticed.
"Nothing to concern yourself over." He told her.
Madeleine rolled her eyes. One look at his face was all she needed to see he was thinking of Riley. He was the kind of man who probably expected the City of Love to truly be that very thing. It was foolish to think such in her opinion, but she supposed she could be magnanimous to the less fortunate.
"You have some free time after the fashion show." She pointed out. "Why don't you invite Riley to spend the evening with you?"
Liam's startled gaze flew to her face. "What?"
"I said, why don't you invite--"
"I heard that part." Liam interrupted. "I'm merely shocked that you would suggest such a thing."
"You hid your little rendezvous in Venice, quite well." She complimented. "I trust you to do the same here in Paris."
He knew that was all she asked of him.
"Don't embarrass me", Madeleine pleaded on the night of their engagement. "As long as you keep your affairs out of the news, I will not care who or what you do."
It felt odd. He didn't care one bit for Madeleine, but to still have one's fiancee give her blessing, even help set time for his dates, it was weird to say the very least.
Liam lowered the privacy barrier to speak to their driver.
"Pull over, please."
The moment the car paused at the next corner, Liam got out.
"Where are you going?!" Madeleine demanded.
"I need to clear my head." He told her.
"But the fashion show!" She shrieked. "It's being held specifically for us and Cordonia!"
"I'll be there." He promised.
Liam mentally groaned when Bastien stepped out to follow him.
"There's no need for you to come along." He argued.
Bastien, ever stoic, shook his head.
"Forgive me sir, but there is. You're not about to walk down the street alone when--"
"As king," Liam bit out, "I order you back in the car."
"Your majesty, I must insist--"
"Now." Liam told him.
Bastien sighed. He stepped closer to whisper, "You should be fine, just please pay attention to your surroundings."
"Thank you." Liam responded. "I need some time alone."
"I understand, sir." Bastien bowed before returning to the car.
Liam watched the procession continue on without him.
He took a deep breath, glanced about, and began walking down the sidewalk.
I wish Riley was--
"Liam!"
He turned about with a start.
Riley jogged over, pausing before him to bend over and catch her breath.
"My lady!" He exclaimed, bending down so he could see her face. "What are you doing out here?"
"I saw you get out and I decided to follow." She panted.
He shook his head, his first genuine smile forming.
"I'm fine," she wheezed when he gently touched her back in concern, "just very, very out of shape."
He chuckled, causing her smile to appear in hearing such a sound.
"What are you doing?" She asked, once she could speak without wheezing.
"Walking." He held his arm out to her. "Care to join me?"
Her smile widened as she linked her arm with his.
"I gathered that." She replied. "But where are you going?"
"Nowhere in particular." He told her with a slight shrug of his shoulders. "I simply was tired of being King Liam."
"Hmm." Riley paused mid step. She let go of his arm, moved directly in his path, and studied him.
Liam cocked an eyebrow in response.
Her eyes sparkled as she took in the handsome man before her. Her tender smile caught his attention as he waited to see what she would do next.
"And just who do you wish to be right now?" She asked.
Slipping his hands into his pockets, Liam bashfully ducked his head as he gave voice to what he wished.
"I want to be the man who can go out with the woman he loves."
He lifted his bright, blue eyes to Riley.
"I want to show you all the spots I dreamed of taking the person," he stepped closer to cup her cheek, "who would become my heart."
He pressed his forehead against hers.
"You, my love, are now the very thing I find myself wishing for everywhere I go."
Unable to resist him a second longer, Riley looped her arms around his neck and kissed him.
Liam clutched her close to deepen the kiss. He felt his spirits lift that he was finally able to share a kiss with the love of his life on the very streets he used to daydream doing so.
"I love you." She whispered, kissing him once more.
"I love you," he hugged her close, "so very much, Riley."
She grinned, taking his hand in hers. "So? Where should we go first?"
"Anywhere." He laced his fingers with hers. "Any place we go will be all the better with you by my side."
"You're going to have to stop that." Riley playfully warned. "We'll never leave this spot if you keep saying such sweet things to me."
"Would that be so terrible?" He asked, gently pulling her close once more. "I could happily remain here for all eternity if it meant I could be with you."
"Liam." She sighed. "What am I to do with you?"
"I can think of a great many things." He winked at her, feeling lighthearted for the first time in a long while.
She laughed and began to pull him down the street. "I'm almost tempted to demand you tell me some of those."
"Almost, hmm?" Liam smiled at her. "I suppose I will have to do all I can to tempt you even more."
"You are enough temptation as it is." She teased. "A girl can only handle so much before she tries to find some dark, hidden nook to pull Prince Charming in."
Liam stopped her. She watched as he began to scan their surroundings.
"What are you doing now?" She asked.
"Looking for a dark, hidden nook."
Her burst of laughter brought him such joy. This was what he needed. No stress of saying the right thing to the right people. No keeping a neutral expression on his face. No pretending to be the happy fiance of another woman.
He needed moments like this with Riley. He wanted to flirt with and touch the woman treating him like any normal man she would have met in a bar.
"Oh look!" She exclaimed, dragging him over to a shop's window.
Liam took in the many different figurines in the window. An entire miniature village was set off in the distance while little figures of people and animals were displayed to show life along the French countryside.
"I've always loved miniatures." Riley said softly. "My grandparents collected all kinds of them. I used to play with them when I was little."
She chuckled over the childhood memories that flooded her mind. As a little girl, she created a world of daydreams with the ceramic and metal figures.
"Would you like to go in?" He asked.
"Can we?" She asked. "I know we eventually have to go to the fashion show."
Liam glanced at his watch. Time was getting away from him. He knew the event hall was only five blocks away, but he did have interviews and such to contend with, especially since the entire show was for Cordonia's benefit.
His lips firmed into a thin line. He was not going to let any of that dictate this rare moment alone with Riley.
Opening the shop's door, he stepped back so Riley could go in first.
There was no hiding her excitement in exploring this place. Taking Liam's hand once more, she dragged him from one glass case to another, pointing out ones similar to the many she'd grown up with.
Liam indulged her, listening as intently as one possibly could. His tender smile remained upon her as she laughed and shared her secret stories she'd once created. He found himself falling even more for this unexpected side of Riley.
As they admired the craftsmanship of a set of tin soldiers, Liam's attention was drawn towards a little ceramic figure.
The groom was carrying his bride in his arms while she was kissing his cheek.
He felt his heart sink for the first time since Riley joined him on this little excursion. His future was racing towards a wedding, one he couldn't quite fathom happening. The little bride had blonde hair, much like Madeleine's.
I can never have that smile around Madeleine, he thought. I can't have that be my life.
Riley followed his gaze when she felt him tense up beside her. She knew, just by his somber expression that he was thinking of Madeleine.
Slipping her arms around his waist, she hugged him from the side.
"I'd like to think that could be us one day." She admitted.
Liam wrapped his arm around her shoulders, squeezing her close. "You do?"
Riley nodded, forcing a smile for his sake. She didn't want to let him know how worried she was that she would fail in finding a way for them to be together. He already had so much pressure as it was upon him. She couldn't add her own.
She reached over and lifted the figurine to study it closer. Unshed tears filled her eyes.
"I think I'm going to buy this." She decided. "For us."
"Us?" He took it from her. "The bride would need dark hair to be you."
"Or I could color mine." She reminded him.
Liam ran his fingers through her silky, black hair.
"I'm rather fond of this color." He said softly.
She playfully poked his side. "You better be."
He laughed then placed a lingering kiss on her forehead.
"I still think this is us." Riley declared. "Look at how happy they are."
She lifted her eyes to his. "I know I'm this way around you."
"And I with you." Liam murmured.
Riley reached for the figurine, eyes widening when Liam kept it out of her reach.
"I want to buy that." She told him.
"And I want to buy it for you, my love." He insisted. "For us."
"But, I--"
"Allow me, please." He pleaded.
Riley studied him for a few seconds. She could tell he needed this reminder as much as she did that they would find their way to their own happily ever after.
"Okay." She said softly. "Thank you, Liam."
The two walked quietly, both in deep thought, towards the venue once their purchase was complete.
"Riley?" Liam stopped her before they needed to revert to their current roles.
"Yes?"
"Would you like to go out with me this evening?"
"You know I would." She hesitated at the side door. "Where could we go?"
"Somewhere where we can enjoy Paris and be alone." He explained.
"I'd love that." She took the little box from him. "I'll hold on to this for us."
Glancing about to make sure no one was near, she pressed a tender kiss to his lips.
"I'll see you tonight." She whispered.
Once she disappeared, he looked up, trying to summon the will to be King Liam of Cordonia once more.
It was hard to find the strength to do so. All he wanted, was to continue this slight detour from his life. Was that asking for the impossible?
He glanced at the Eiffel Tower in the distance. He quickly called Bastien to set up a private tour for this evening. The place was meant for romance and he intended to take complete advantage of it.
But that would have to wait.
Squaring his shoulders, he entered into the venue. The moment he stepped inside, he was bombarded by his security team, nobles, and reporters.
He reminded himself that if he could get through these next couple of hours, he would be rewarded with an evening being simply Liam. No demands. No one expecting him to say the right things at the right time. No more pretending.
He was determined to have all that and more with Riley.
He would do everything within his power to make that little figurine a reality for them soon.

Late Christmas Shopping- Zhong Chenle
Tumblr media
This story is part of a special series for Christmas, you can follow the updates on the calendar, for more content feel free to check my masterlist.
Word Count: 0.53k
Warnings: established relationship, mentions of food, crowded place, just full fluff content.
Tumblr media
As YN hurriedly walked dragging Chenle along, the boy just clumsily followed as he held tightly to the girl's hand, the mall looked like a packed stadium, and just as his girlfriend had warned him they should definitely have done Christmas shopping early, not that it was entirely his fault, YN was as busy as he this time and inevitably the couple had no choice.
Finally having arrived at the shop they wanted, Chenle couldn't help but smile as he saw her enchanted with the decorations: artificial trees were scattered and an absurd amount of Christmas decorations were piled on high shelves along the corridors, the poor boy hadn't even sure of what some of those things were for, but he just trusted YN while the girl filled the shopping cart more and more, at the end of the tour at the “Christmas Workshop” –a very appropriate name in the couple eyes- 10 bags and a large tree were scheduled to be delivered to their home later that day.
Fortunately, the food court on the fourth floor was not so crowded, so both of them easily found a place to eat before continuing the search for the gifts they couldn't buy online.
- Why the hell does Renjun need so many paint kits?
- I don't know- the boy shrugged while devouring his burger- Jisung doesn't need a new helmet either, he barely knows how to ride a bike but you still bought him one.
- Hey- the girl said pretending to be offended- He's trying to get better- Chenle rolled his eyes with a teasing smile- Renjun will get three or even 4 identical gifts, at least Jisung shared what he wanted among everyone.
- Alright - the boy drank his tea while watching his girlfriend finish her snack - Don't forget that we need to get your parents gifts.
- We can get them when we go to get Shotaro's one- the girl replied getting up and so the couple headed to the stores again, in order to fulfill the list in their hands both visited the bookstore, the cycling shop, three different clothing stores and the large electronics shop in the center of the floor before they gathered all the bags and went to the lobby, however before they could leave the place the girl told him that she had to "do something" for her mother and went to the great hall of the airline she had contacted earlier.
- Hello, I'm here to pick up the tickets I ordered- the girl excitedly received the envelope after giving the attendant the necessary information and soon went to meet her boyfriend who was already waiting for her in the car.
- Did you get what you needed baby? – The girl nodded as she let him know that they could finally go home, the way had been calm with the boy humming melodies while she smiled watching the snow-covered streets and imagining how happy he will be when receiving the tickets to Shanghai; Chenle had been complaining for some time about the longing he felt for his parents and the girl couldn't wait to be able to tell him that they would be going to see them soon.

First Week of School in SJTU
Hi! After celebrating the Mid-Autumn Festival with my family in Fuzhou, I returned to SJTU just in time for the first day of school! The university hosted a welcoming ceremony for all new JI students, where we had the chance to meet our instructors and connect with other new students. It was great to listen to speeches from JI alumni and the student body, who shared their experiences and advice. Their words really fueled my excitement about studying at JI.
Tumblr media
The very next day was the official first day of classes, and I was lucky enough to secure all the courses I wanted. The course selection process here felt familiar, like back at Michigan. However, JI added a few extra rounds of lottery before the early bird course registration, which gave everyone more chances to enroll in popular classes. I found the notification system for new course openings super helpful since I received an email reminder about available spots just in time!
Classes at JI have a similar vibe to Michigan. EECS courses are taught to large groups, while humanities and social sciences classes are more intimate, with smaller groups. Since we’re not in Michigan anymore, the "Michigan time" policy doesn’t apply here. But, I noticed the schedule allows a 10-minute break after 45 minutes of lecture, which is perfect for a quick bathroom or water break.
During the first week, SJTU offered free tours around campus, focusing on the libraries and recreational centers to help students make the most of the school’s resources. I joined the library tour, where the guides walked us through how to reserve seats, print documents, and navigate the school’s databases. We also got a tour of the main library, which has plenty of seating areas, a rest zone, a café, and even a basic school supplies shop. However, there aren’t many computers available, so it’s more convenient to bring your own laptop.
Tumblr media
(Below is a beautiful staircase in the main library)
Tumblr media
I also checked out another popular library (SJTU has five in total), and it was impressive as well, but the real highlight was Siyuan Lake just outside. The lake is surrounded by a bamboo-lined walking trail and traditional Chinese pavilions. Walking around the lake was so relaxing, and I even saw some black swans and koi fish swimming around.

Budget Travel Tips for China: How to Save Money on Your Trip
Exploring China, with its rich history, diverse culture, and stunning landscapes, is a dream for many travelers. However, navigating this vast country on a budget can be challenging without the right strategies. Whether you're drawn to the ancient wonders of the Great Wall, the bustling streets of Shanghai, or the serene landscapes of Guilin, there are numerous ways to stretch your budget and make the most of your journey. From affordable accommodation options to savvy transportation choices and tips for dining on a dime, this guide will equip you with practical advice to enjoy China without breaking the bank. Discover how to experience the best of China while keeping your expenses in check, allowing you to focus on creating unforgettable memories.
Here are some tips to help you save money while exploring this fascinating country:
Book Flights Early: Look for deals on flights well in advance, and consider flying into major hubs like Beijing, Shanghai, or Guangzhou, which often have cheaper flights due to higher competition.
Use Public Transportation: China's public transport, like buses, subways, and trains, is extensive and affordable. Opt for these instead of taxis, which can be pricier, especially in larger cities.
Eat Local: Chinese street food and small local eateries (known as "dai pai dong" in Cantonese or "xiaochi" in Mandarin) offer delicious and budget-friendly meals. Avoid touristy restaurants as they tend to be more expensive.
Stay in Budget Accommodations: Hostels, guesthouses, and budget hotels are widely available in most cities. Websites like Hostelworld, Booking.com, or Ctrip can help you find affordable options.
Visit Free Attractions: Many of China's attractions have free admission or are very affordable. Research and prioritize visiting parks, temples, and local markets that don’t charge entrance fees.
Travel Off-Peak: Avoid traveling during Chinese national holidays like Golden Week (first week of October) when prices for accommodations and transport skyrocket. Shoulder seasons (spring and autumn) often have better rates.
Learn Basic Chinese Phrases: Knowing a few basic phrases can help you negotiate prices and communicate with locals more effectively, potentially saving you money in transactions.
Negotiate Prices: Especially in markets and with street vendors, bargaining is expected. Start with a lower price and be prepared to walk away if the price isn't right.
Use WeChat Pay or Alipay: These mobile payment apps are widely accepted in China and can often get you discounts or cashback at various vendors, including restaurants and shops.
Pack Accordingly: Bring essentials from home, such as over-the-counter medications and toiletries, as these can be more expensive in China, especially if you need specific brands.
Avoid International ATMs: Using ATMs that charge international transaction fees can add up. Instead, withdraw larger amounts of cash at local bank ATMs or use your bank’s partner ATMs to minimize fees.
Join Free Walking Tours: Many cities offer free walking tours led by locals or expats. These can provide you with valuable insights into the city’s culture and history without costing you anything.
Conclusion
In conclusion, traveling to China on a budget requires careful planning and consideration, especially concerning expenses like accommodation, transportation, and food. By leveraging strategies such as booking in advance, opting for local street food, and using public transport, travelers can significantly reduce their expenses without compromising on experience. Additionally, securing the necessary China visa ahead of time is crucial to avoid any last-minute complications or extra costs. With these tips in mind, exploring China affordably becomes not only feasible but also enriching, ensuring a memorable and budget-friendly journey through this fascinating country.

Liam woke up to the natural light of the sun shining through his windows; his eyes were red and puffy. It was hard to admit, but the Crown Prince spent his night in his room crying over her, knowing that there was no turning back. It was over.
Although his brother was his closest ally, his resentment boiled over today. He wanted to follow his heart and abdicate, giving the throne to his long-time friend Olivia Nevrakis. However, Jessica refused his offer, foolishly thinking that they could undo the wrong done to her. Had it not been for Leo’s abdication, he would at least be free to walk away from royal life and be with her. But on this day, he would need to say goodbye to the life he dreamed of, a life where the other side of the bed was warm with her beside him.
He walked into the bathroom and turned on the shower as he washed his hair; He let himself melt under the comfort of the warm water. His vulnerability came to the surface, and he found himself crying, thinking of her once more. The last time he saw her was three days ago at an adoption ceremony. She wore a light blue dress. At the Beaumont's, as she signed her name on the document that would tie her to them forever, she gave them a warm smile, something that he missed seeing and something that made his heart skip a beat each time he saw it. He tried to talk to her, but she avoided being alone with him, and she sent his calls to voicemail. The last time he made love to her was in Yu garden in Shanghai on a boat. He closed his eyes for a second to imagine that moment; for all he knew, standing in the shower, it was their last time. He could smell her scent of vanilla and lavender perfume. He could envision the way her red lace dress clung to the curves of her body in the most exquisite way and, when nothing else was on her body, the way the pearl bracelet glimmered in the moonlight. He sighed deeply and could feel her body on top of his as it expertly moved against his own. Each moment of intimacy was a gift of themselves to each other, and each time they fell deeper in love. He was losing that gift today.
To be with her now would put her in a category she didn’t belong. Liam hated the word ‘mistress’ because she would never be that to him. She would forever be the woman he loved. She wouldn’t be Jessica Rys or the other woman in the shadows. He told her Madeleine was his wife on paper, but emotionally, his heart was hers. His body was hers, and as he promised her, they were two bodies that shared the same heart and soul. A Cordonian arrangement was all they had. If she agreed, it would be the only way to be together. They tried to be friends during the engagement tour but couldn’t. They just couldn’t stay away from each other. With each wall she built up, Liam managed to break through. She struggled with it the entire engagement tour. Every time she saw him and his fiancée together, the dances that should have been theirs, the kisses and hand-holding, the moments of tenderness which were staged, but nonetheless, she knew that if it were her, it would be genuine. She never gave him an answer to what she wanted to do. After that, she decided to stay in New York, but something pulled her back to the court. It was her responsibility to the Beaumont's, but Liam hoped part of it was him in his heart.
After he showered, he walked to his closet and looked at his custom-made wedding regalia tailored for him. When he still believed there was a possibility of being together, on the inside of the jacket where his heart would rest, the monogram L&J. No one would notice it. Still, it was an essential detail to him that when they were alone, and he took off his jacket, he would show her that his heart was hers and he promised it before God and his people.
He traced the letter J and said, “Jessica” in barely a whisper. He hated that today it was designed for his wedding to her and would now be used in a ceremony where he would be promised to another.
He sat on his bed, took a deep breath, and looked at the clock. Any minute now, preparations for the wedding would begin. The bell in Cordonia square would toll, the people would line the streets waving Cordonian flags, and they would throw flowers and the official wedding coin with his image and that of the new Queen to be on the streets; a Cordonian tradition of good fortune. He didn’t want any of it. He wanted a swift ceremony and an even swiffer divorce. He hoped that nothing that was happening today would taint what he wanted Jessica to have if he could free himself. The laws made it clear it wasn’t a question if he could divorce, but it would be a question of grounds and how long he would need to wait as the Royal Council would need to approve of the dissolution of his coerced marriage. He combed his hands through his hair as he heard the dreaded sound. The sound that would set the day’s events into motion was the galloping of horses from their carriage. A messenger was sent to collect his signature and bring the instrument of intent to marry and ascend the throne to the Archbishop.
The door flung open with no warning. Constantine entered and said, “My boy, it is a joyous day. You will take over my throne.” He was followed by staff, who drew his curtains.
Liam looked at the floor as he responded. “There is nothing joyful about this day,” Liam said in a whisper. His throat was hoarse with grief and the strain of sobbing all night. His eyes were downcast, refusing to look at the man that ruined his life.
“It is time to do what you must and sign the instrument that promises Countess Madeleine lands and other rights owed to her as your wife.”
Liam scowled, “I refused to call her my wife.”
Constantine tsked, “No matter what, you call her in private. By law, she is your wife from this day forward. You will come around, son.”
The messenger was escorted to the room by the Royal Guard, holding a wooden box. “Your Majesty and, “Your Royal Highness,” the man said, bowing, “The Duchess of Krona and The Duke of Karlington have sent over the signed instrument. I am here to collect your signature so upon marriage, the Archbishop may place his seal.”
Liam looked at the document and took his pen, and with his left hand, he signed away his life for his people. Something that he was born to do in an arranged marriage his whole life but something that changed for him since meeting Jessica. He knew love, her love, and his heart wanted that more than anything. Marrying her would mean a marriage filled with love and tenderness.
The messenger said, “Your Royal Highness, is there anything you want to send the future Queen?”
Liam looked at him, puzzled, and said, “Excuse me, I am uncertain of what you mean?”
The man answered, “A gift.”
Liam looked at him and said, “Should she ask to tell her that she is allowed to live here although she is unwanted and she is allowed to be addressed as Queen. Although, she is undeserving of the title. Remind her that it will all be short-lived, and she is just a guest.”
Constantine sucked his teeth and said, “Please direct the messenger to Queen Regina’s quarters; she will provide you with a gift for the Bride, her niece, from her personal jewelry collection. Surely the Bride will be moved by such a gift from a Queen to a future Queen.”
Liam retorted and said, “Very well. I can’t stop you from giving her something. But I have given the messenger a directive, and he is to deliver that message. Should he ease up on the language, fine, but the message, whether in English, French, Italian, or whatever language the Countess knows, is the same at the core I despise her.” He turned to the messenger and said, “You are excused.”
With that, the messenger exited Liam’s quarters and was directed to Regina’s room to collect a hastily given bridal gift.
Liam allowed the royal servants to do whatever they wanted. Brush his hair, help him dress, put on Cologne. It all felt like he was no more than a rag doll being tossed around and dolled up while he just stared off into nothing.
Constantine watched the entire time, not caring about frivolous things such as privacy or respect for his youngest son.
“You look distasteful and weak with those red eyes. This will be broadcasted for the entire Nation to see. Something must be done to cover it.”
Liam snapped out of his trance, “Weak?” He huffed with a humorless chuckle. “It’s a strength and honor to my country to marry a woman who I can’t tolerate more than what social decorum dictates.”
Soon after came Regina and Leo after Liam was dressed. Leo smiled sadly at his younger brother.
“You look handsome as ever, Liam. I’m so proud of you.” Regina smiled softly.
Constantine said, “Proud? The boy looks like a sobbing child on a day when our reputation is on the line. The least he could do is be a man and handle his duty with pride.”
Liam snapped his head in his Father’s direction. All composure went out the window at the statement.
Leo closed his eyes and mumbled under his breath. “You couldn’t have stayed silent, could you?”
“A child, Father? You think I should be more stoic or manly on this day?” Liam released a bitter chuckle before kicking over a table.
“I apologize, Father! So sorry that my life has been ruined and my heart is being ripped into a million pieces, but I can’t act like I’m thrilled!! How dishonorable of me!”
Constantine huffed, “Well, you should know I sent Lady Jessica a letter by footman today about the doctrine Sex primis noctibus. I felt it necessary to remind her of her place should she become the other half of the Cordonian Arrangement.”
Liam glared at his Father and said, “You did what?!”
“You heard me. I reminded her of where you would be the first six nights of your marriage, unable to communicate with the outside world and bedding the Queen as tradition dictates.”
“I did not invoke that Cordonian clause! It is my right to invoke it, and I will not be trapped in this palace with Madeleine in close quarters to produce an heir!”
“That’s true, you didn’t invoke it, but I, as the King, have. It’s an order, so I’m sure she is devastated. Liam, do not forget the order of things. You convinced her to come here. Now she must deal with her new found status.”
Filled with anger at what his Father had done to further torment Jessica, he picked up a chair and threw it across the room.
Regina gasped, and Leo simply watched as Liam marched towards his Father, now towering over the older man.
Constantine glared, “What are you going to do, Liam, assault me? You had to taint today by stubbornly always keeping that woman in your thoughts.”
Liam yelled in his face. “Of course I fucking do! Because that woman is the only woman for me! Today was supposed to be her day, and you took that away from us both!!”
“I took nothing away.”
I’m being forced into a marriage of hate and lies, and you don’t even care!” Liam’s nostrils flared as he yelled, “You betrayed me, Father. You used me! You don’t give a damn about anyone but yourself!”
“Boy, calm yourself.”
Liam saw red at the order and, without thinking, shoved Constantine against a nearby wall. Regina clutched her mouth, and Leo calmly walked over as Liam screamed in his Father’s face. “I will not!! When do I get a say-so? When do I get to choose? I’ve been ripped back and forth, advised, and taken care of all my life. I am a grown man and can’t choose who I marry!”
Liam was inches from his Father’s face, hands on his collar as Constantine glared and dug his fingers into his son’s wrist.
“Come on, Li. The old man isn’t worth it.” Leo mumbled low while glaring at Constantine and forcibly dragged Liam off of him.
Constantine was red-faced as he got back up into Liam’s space as Leo held him back. “You ungrateful foul-mouthed BRAT! You’re being given a crown, all the power you could ask for, and reputation, and all you care about is not marrying some ordinary woman. I should have-”
Constantine stopped mid-sentence, coughing violently and hunching over. Regina rushed to him, placing a hand on his back.
“Liam, please! Can’t you see that your Father is ill?”
Liam relinquished himself of Leo’s grasp and threw a nearby vase at the wall. “OUT!! I want everyone out but my brother!”

(FCs:
King Liam - Daniel Henney
Hana Lee - Kaitlin Marianelli)
The first blush of dawn colours the sky just as Hana reaches Lake Sôsê. The sun is still playing hide-and-seek behind the clouds; invisible yet suffusing everything around it in a soft buttery glow, painting the hitherto colourless clouds pink and pale saffron. It's so heartbreakingly beautiful, it feels like a home away from home.
Hana closes her eyes, breathes in the honeyed scent of yellow crocuses, and lets out a soft, shuddering sigh. A lump - small but heavy - forms in her throat.
She remembers the day she'd found this beautiful place. It was on one of those weeks before they had left for Applewood, soon after a phone call with her mother. They'd just seen footage of her empty, desolate, champagne-stacked boat, with only Esther for company. You're not doing enough, Mama had said, you won't even try!
She remembers how she'd thrown the phone on her bed and fled from her palace room, slamming the door behind her and running with her arms wrapped around her, mindless of where she was headed. That day she'd felt she could possibly never feel as lost and rudderless and desperately alone...as she did then.
Well... joke's on you now, Past Hana!
Hana lets out a watery laugh, angrily wiping away her tears. It's been a week since the engagement tour ended, and not one phone call, not one message, where before her phone would almost never stop ringing.
She isn't sure what is worse - how trapped she used to feel with their incessant, acerbic, acid remarks...or this silent judgement. As if their punishment for her disobedience was to erase her very existence in their family. To make sure she knew she was that easy to discard.
The sun's rays now pierce through the clouds, splashing their golden hue across the expanse of the sky. Far ahead, a flock of collared doves spread their wings, cooing softly. She wishes she were more like them, free to go wherever her feet of took her yet never bereft of a tribe to ground her.
Oh, she knows Liam had promised her before they left New York that she could keep her old room at the palace. And she knows, instinctively, that Esther will ask her to stay at Valtoria. And she loves them both enough to know that she'd be happy to live with them, if her guilt and shame didn't get in the way. If she wouldn't feel like she was always taking up room in someone else's rightful home.
"Hana."
Hana freezes at the deep baritone behind her, wondering if her thoughts were so powerful they summoned Liam here this early in the morning to help solve her dilemma. When she doesn't turn, he reaches her side and faces her. Hana presses her lips together, hoping he won't notice any dried tear tracks on her cheeks.
"Your Majesty," she curtsies, laughing inwardly when he rolls his eyes and lets out a heavy sigh of resignation. It's something Liam has long asked her to stop doing, and initially she still did it was because he was, after all, still her monarch. But now she does it to elicit this very reaction. "How did you know I'd be here?"
"I didn't. Lady Kiara spotted you walking this way while she was in the courtyard, practicing her Icelandic."
Hana smiles fondly, mostly at the memory of Kiara doing that exact thing at the lobby of their Shanghai hotel on their last day, oblivious to the world around her, her nose scrunching in frustration as she fought to remember her strong verbs from her weak ones. Someone should tell that woman she looks adorable when she frowns. A light tingle runs up her spine at the thought, but instantly she brushes it off as nothing.
They stroll together for a few minutes, in a comfortable lull of silence. "Leo used to love this place when we were children."
"I can see why. It's such a tranquil place."
Liam nods, smiling "Apparently this was where Father met Queen Agnes. She'd been gone quite a while before I came along, but Leo still had hope."
A fist closes around Hana's heart. "I'm so sorry to hear that."
Liam nods distractedly. "It ended well enough, eventually. Mother helped them reconnect a few months ago."
Hana briefly registers the heady clovelike scent of honeysuckle, realizing they've walked quite a bit away from where they'd started. "What was Queen Agnes like?"
"From what I'd heard? Gentle. Quite talented and very generous. But always under immense pressure. First from her family, then from Father, then from the insurgents who made repeated attempts on her and Leo's life. It's part of why she ran away."
He closes his eyes, delicately rubbing the space between his temples. "Her parents threw her into every possible thing that would give her an advantage...and for a short time it worked. She won that season - married Father without expecting to love him, as did he - but I'm told their life together afterwards was forever haunted by her fears that she'd never be good enough. That she'd always feel a bit of a fraud. That it would be a matter of time before everyone realized that too."
The lakeside is a pleasant sort of warm, and the breeze wafting floral scents their way is soft and fleeting, but Hana still shudders.
What happened to Queen Agnes could have happened to her. She could have plunged herself headlong into marriage with Liam, relieved that she'd succeeded exactly the way her parents wanted her to, never imagining that their demands would never end. That their disappointments would never end. It would just take newer forms, and in addition she would eventually face the disappointment of an entire country.
And no matter how kind or selfless or empathetic Liam could be, perhaps one day he too would have grown tired of handholding her through her insecurities.
One day she will muster up the courage to ask him if Esther was the only reason he didn't find her a viable option, or whether it was some flaw in her. It has to be. She'd never been more relieved than when it was clear that Liam didn't seem as enamoured of her as Peter did...but that didn't stop the occasional stray thought. That she just wasn't good enough.
Liam picks up a few pebbles from the ground, aiming for a spot on the lake to toss them. They leave perfect concentric ripples on the water.
Hana shakes her head, her voice almost a resentful murmur. "Most people would say that if she couldn't handle it she shouldn't have participated."
Liam turns to her, his gaze penetrating through her thin veil of self-deprecation. "Is that what you think?"
She averts her eyes, embarrassed. He's astute enough to realize this really isn't about Queen Agnes at all. "No. How does anyone even know that? What they can handle and what they can't. You only know when you're there."
He smiles in her direction, a gentle affectionate tilt of the mouth. "Yes. Sometimes choosing a suitor isn't entirely about how capable or worthy or even strong they are..." Yet another pebble. "...because who are we to narrow down what strength looks like?" Another pebble. He stops and then brushes off the dust with both his hands. "Sometimes it's less about your confidence in them, and more about whether binding them to you could plunge them in a world of hurt."
Hana looks away again - only this time to blink away tears. Somehow Liam managed to say everything she wanted to hear, without her even realizing she'd wanted to hear it. Maybe she really has lost a great catch in the King. Maybe Esther's rejection will still sting, on those lonely nights in a strange baroque-styled room in the palace. But Hana cannot deny that she's now living her best, most honest life...and despite her overwhelming sense of grief at all she has lost, she truly couldn't be happier.
As if reading her mind, Liam speaks up again. "Have you heard from anyone at Bethulia's?"
The fist tightens its hold on her heart again at the mention of her mother's birth home. She swallows, hoping her voice doesn't give away her hurt. "No. I have a feeling Mama rung them up immediately after I left. They'd been icing me out ever since your Coronation."
Liam lets out a contemptuous snort. "As if they'd even made an effort to help you before that." Hana is surprised enough at his tone to stare directly at him. Typically, he's a man of generous spirit, sometimes charitable towards other people's intentions to a fault - yet here he is, calling her extended family out on their neglect. Something she'd assumed no one else would notice. Or care.
She lost more than she could have imagined, when she lashed out at her father for insulting Esther. She isn't sure she'll ever get all that back: the years of pressure and toil, the constant wait for approval, the forever fear that one misstep could destroy her entire life. She isn't sure those are things she's supposed to want back, anyway. But there is no doubt in her mind that she's so used to getting that response from her family, that on her worst nights she brings herself to believe she'd rather have that than nothing at all.
Taking in the citrusy, invigorating scent of the fresh herbs nearby, revelling briefly in the sun beating down gently on their faces - Hana decides to steer their conversation to happier, safer topics. "Valtoria was named after Valentina Greaves, yes? Queen Kenna's Master-at-Arms?"
Liam's grin at this question could light up the entire city at night. At the heart of it his needs are quite simple, really. Great food, good conversation, and the occasional opportunity to hyperfocus on History. If you gave him even two out of three (particular emphasis on the third), he'd be your friend for life.
"Yes. Their First Duchess."
Hana wraps her arms around herself again, turning each side of her face ever-so-slowly to the sun. It falls on them in a shower of mild, comforting warmth.
"I'm happy for Esther," and she truly is, "She's been through so much...and this is going to be such a wonderful new start for her. She'd make a brilliant Duchess - charming... compassionate...resilient..."
"And you?" Liam's sideways glance towards her is oddly penetrating. "You're none of those things?"
Hana stumbles over her words, puzzled and anticipating something new, something that might change the course of her life, all at once - she's just not sure what it is. "I... I've never actually thought about it."
"But I have," Liam is looking at her directly now, measuring her reaction and seeming to evaluate whether she's ready for what he is about to say. Then suddenly, with no warning, he shifts the subject. "You asked about Val Greaves' duchy right now. But have you ever heard about Annelyse Adair's?"
Annelyse Adair. The Queen of Aurelia. The best healer in all of the Five Kingdoms. There are statues of her all over Cordonia: dripping in gold, her lustrous hair held in place by a diamond-encrusted comb, a beatific smile gracing her features. No one will ever know if she became Stormholt's queen, but there's no doubt in her mind that any place that grew under her care would have blossomed well beyond her death.
"It's called Krysanthe now," Liam says, trying to ignore the pregnant pause from Hana's end, "They named the duchy after the yellow crocus flower that grows in abundance there. Even now, with no Head of House to run affairs and the people largely taking care of the province themselves - they've managed to keep at as vibrant, as diverse, as beautiful as the ancient textbooks have described it." He glaces downwards now, and she realises they both have returned - in the process of talking - to their starting point, where she is once again hit by the honeyed scent of those deep yellow crocuses.
"I've been wanting to entrust that place to a someone for a while. The people there are self-sufficient, creative, resilient...but they do miss having good leadership that will represent their interests in the Greater Court. They love their duchy and know what's best for it...but they'd also prefer to have someone at the top who could help combine all their ideas into a more coherent whole, and who knows the Great Houses like the back of their hand. Someone who will care for them like they're family, but trust them to act as guides for their home - that's been theirs for generations and that they do know best. I'm hoping to send to them someone who embodies everything they have ever loved about Queen Annelyse."
Her heart suddenly in her throat, Hana is for once rendered incapable of speaking. The sun is brighter than ever, demanding their attention with its faint warmth. The collared doves' song sounds far away now - Hana is faintly aware that it stopped being early-morning at least half an hour ago and for most nobles, the day has now truly begun. Liam doesn't stop looking at her, his gaze clear and even, calmly awaiting her answer to the question he hasn't even yet asked. It's her voice that's now a tentative, almost-terrified, whisper. "And you believe that person might be....me?"
He nods, his lips offering a small, tentative smile. It's clear he's nervous too. "I know I told you last night that you could stay in the palace indefinitely. And I'm certain Esther might ask you to stay with her in Valtoria too," he says, his voice suddenly a little hoarse, "but I also know you'd rather have a real home. One you can truly call your own. Not a room in someone else's house."
Hana opens her mouth, then closes, opens then closes; the words stuck in her throat and her vision blurring from the tears. This level of confidence...this level of trust...and most of all - this level of understanding without her even telling him what losing her home meant to her...she isn't sure there is a lifetime that is enough to repay him for caring for her this way. And she knows without even having to ask, that he'd balk at the suggestion of repaying him, that he'd instantly tell her that his biggest reward will be to see Hana Lee live her best, happiest life - nothing more, nothing less.
The gaping hole that took form when she looked down at China from their private jet, for the last time, will probably take forever to fill, Hana knows that. She had lost everything in the space of that one afternoon, and there's no coming back from it. She won't deny either, that she is terrified to her core, of the prospect of failing the people he will entrust in her care - the way she failed her parents, the way she once thought feel she'd failed Peter. But Liam today is looking at her the way Esther has looked at her many times before. With pride. With a belief in her, in who she is. With love.
Liam takes her hand in his, covering her delicate, long fingers with his strong ones. "I trust you, Hana. With this, and with everything else life will throw at you."
That's all it takes for her tears to finally fall. All she can bring herself to say is thank you.
Liam runs his hand over hers gingerly, in a gesture of comfort, allowing her to cry until she's tired. They don't need words. They don't need anything today, besides the comfort only they are capable of giving each other.
When her tears stop and she regains her voice, Hana gives her word to Liam. That she will do her best to cherish the people and the landscape of Krysanthe, that she will belong to it as much as it will belong to her.
Liam smiles fondly at her. "Some of the early days might feel a little overwhelming for you. For those kinds of days, I thought I'd give you this."
Hana looks down curiously at his hands, as he fishes his pockets for something. He finally takes out a small navy-blue velvet box, fitting perfectly in his palm, tiny enough for a ring to fit inside. Her eyes widen even before Liam opens the box.
It opens to reveal a gold coin, bearing the face of a beautiful woman, a wreath on the crown of her head, her hair tied in the Grecian style, a faint smile on her lips, the sun behind her like a halo.
"Now turn it over."
The woman on the other side has a clear, direct, penetrating gaze - just like the one Liam gave her a few minutes ago - a rope of braid crowning her head, the creascent moon behind her. "Queen Kenna," she whispers shakily.
"They found a few like it some years ago during an excavation at the seat of the duchy, and presented a few to the Crown."
The coin is small, its weight and coolness against her palm comforting, and her heart feels almost ready to burst from all the feelings this tiny gold piece is beginning to invoke in her.
"Remember, you once gave me a flute from your father's hometown as a Coronation gift," Liam continues softly, "a flute I still try to play sometimes, on this very lakeside. Consider this my gift to you. I hope it brings you as much joy as that flute has given me."
Hana can barely hear him. Instead, she almost pushes him over with the force of her hug, her arms spanning easily around his waist, trying to translate all her gratitude and respect and filial love into that one embrace.
"Oof!" Liam says, laughing, "be a little more gentle, Your Grace. Have mercy on an old man's bones."
Playfully, and for once quite unmindful of the fact that he is her monarch, she swats him on the shoulder. "You're barely three years older than me, wǒ de péngyǒu."
His full-bodied laugh vibrates against her. "Point noted, fíli mou."
She doesn't notice how long they stay like that - all she knows is that when they finally let go, her heart is left feeling far lighter than it has ever felt for a very, very long time. "Come. Let's walk back to the palace," Liam says, and she matches steps with him.
When they're closer to the courtyard (she notices, to her disappointment, that Kiara has left), Liam asks her when she plans to meet up with Esther.
"I was thinking sometime today," she replies, running her thumb lovingly over the velvet of the box. "Maybe after lunch?"
Liam looks back, at the lake they've just left behind, at the clear blue skies with the sun blazing in the center. He smiles, seemingly in memory of something, something special.
"Wait until sunset," Liam tells her, "Esther loves sunsets."
She nods, already rehearsing in her head all the things she is going tell Esther. About this lake. About Liam. About her new home. And most of all, about the difference they - Esther and Liam both - have made in her life.
The first time she came to Cordonia, she hadn't thought much beyond winning the Crown Prince, in whichever way possible. She feared back then, that failing would cost her her home, her family.
And it did. What no one told her was that she'd soon find a home to call her own, and friends she could now call her family.

A/N1: This fic takes place the morning of Hana's lake scene in TRR2 Chapter 18, on the same day as the Homecoming Ball. In the fic, I've decided to name the lake Sôsê after a mythical nymph.
A/N2: Fics referenced in this piece. It's not necessary to read them, but it will provide a little bit of context for the friendship -
• The coin Liam gives Hana came directly from @cassiopeiacorvus' excellent fic "A Lesson in Sources"! Definitely read this one if you haven't already!!
• It's set in the "With A Little Help From My Friends" universe (here's one and two). The dizi flute Liam talks about came from there, as does Hana calling him wǒ de péngyǒu (which is Mandarin for "my friend", and Liam here responds by calling her the same, but in Greek).
• Liam's suggestion to Hana about sunsets comes from my fic "When the Sun Kisses the Sea"

✦ — traveling the world w/ MADARA !
Tumblr media
that'll probably be at the end of his career, since he can go all out. and you'll make the most of it. you get to visit all the pretty places, try out new things, learn of new cultures and lend a hand wherever you can. you're really lucky—especially because you get to go with mama. that makes it double as fun.
he's kind of used to it, since he toured as an idol and got to go pretty much in all locations where he was popular. if you don't travel a lot, don't worry, he'll help you over the homesickness. he'll be your home. wherever madara is is home ok?? take small trinkets from home to help out :thumbs up: go go gang
you get to make a little list of what you really really want to see and he'll have it arranged for a visit if it's possible!! the world is very big so you can't really go evrerywhere as in.. EVERYWHERE. but you get to see a lot of places.
it was so dark, you almost couldn't see your own hand infront of your face. the only lights were coming from the front, from the carlights, and the moonlight from the gaps between leaves. you could only see smudges of dark, muddy green passing by your window.
but you could feel a lot. madara's head tucked in the crook of your neck, slowly, steadily breathing down on your collarbone. your fingers between his on the pillow on your lap, every callous of his palm, the warmth. the rising and falling of his chest. it was inviting—you wanted to sleep too.
maybe you have a driver in japan so you can rest well while you're still exploring the country, but when you're out you just kind of hop around buses and trains to get where you want. you just have scheduled flights or drives when you gotta go to the next country stop. so you're free to do whatever.
when you arrive literally anywhere he is like one of those souvenir moms. he has to buy a little memory from wherever he can get one, to put it on the shelves when you get back to japan. you get to pick—do you want the blue eiffel tower or the green one. pick fast cus you have to get to the real tower too.
he takes dumb pictures everywhere you go. he can't catch good angles, not of you OR HIMSELF. your house will be filled with blurry pictures from a too-far-down-angle. you were having fun though and he thinks they're pretty and unique. makes your gallery look a little livelier. all those perfect photos make you seem like you're dead or something. take the photo from shanghai. the one with the cat next to you. where you cant see the cat because it's blurry.
sometimes you take walks and just. head to random places. wherever you feel like going, you'll go. it's yours and madaras world. in your little bubble floating around. sometimes you make nice friends from different countries and they tell you nice places you can go to.
lend a helping hand wherever you can!! when you travel you won't just see the pretty things. madara is a happy volunteer, he helps out whoever needs a hand. you can find accomplishment in that. friends, too. the feeling is nice, isn't it? seeing smiles. you've bettered someones life. it's also a good experience to make on your journey!! makes you more aware.
enjoy some traditions from other places. all the good stuff—habits you can bring back to japan with you, different foods. madara is particularly fond of the love and fortune charms—albatross' or dove's feathers, cornicello, white heathers.. he'll get plenty, all from different places. so your relationship is long and fortunate!!
when you get home your house will be filled with trinkets and things from literally everywhere around the world. it looks pretty neat. you can look at each souvenir and tell a story behind it. madara enjoys reminiscing with you.

The one when Y/N meets Harry.
 November 28th, 2017 - Shanghai, China
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Today is the day. Today is the day you’ll be walking for Victoria’s Secret for the first time. Dreams do come true. You traveled all the way up from New York to Shanghai with some of your best friends after getting ready for this day for the past months. It wasn’t easy if you must admit. Having to follow a strict diet and working out almost every day was hard but being here today it’s totally worth it.
‘’Alright, it’s almost show time. I need everybody to be ready by minutes!’’ — The stage manager yelled while walking through all those tall ladies that were probably much taller than him. As usual, there’s going to be four segments and I’ll be in just two of them. At this moment, it’ll be the Goddess segment which looks completely stunning. You look around to see all those gorgeous women around me with their perfectly styled hair, beautiful golden wings and lingerie getting their final touch ups just like you are. You have no idea if it’s the amount of people around you now that are touching your hair, putting makeup in your face, fixing up the tiara or even if it’s the idea of having all eyes on you in just a few minutes. Of course, you wanted it to be perfect, it’s your first VS show and you can’t stand the thought of falling or anything like this.
You tried to calm down and focus on your breathing while staring to those extremely big screens hanged on the wall that showed the stage from every possible angle and you could totally notice that there was a lot of people out there.
‘‘I remember my first time too! I felt like my heart was about to leave my body’‘. Bella, that was right beside me getting herself ready as well.
‘‘Well, yeah! I’m one step to passing out now’‘. You joked while feeling this small woman finishing the touch ups of your outfit. It was stunning. There was a lingerie, of course, which looked like a white color but it was actually more into ai really light tone of grey. And they complemented it with a super long baby blue fabric over the lingerie. You had a super goddess like a golden tiara upon your head and some diamonds made up jewelry on your neck and years that probably costed more money than you could afford.
‘‘Romee! Where is Romee? We need Romee!’‘. The stage manager called Romee as she would be opening the runaway and you could see from the corner of your eye that she was almost running to get from the starting place. She literally looked like a Greek goddess with those beautiful long blonde locks and blue eyes. ‘‘Ok girls, I need all of you to get by your entering positions, alright?’‘ , by this phrase, all of you start to go to your marked positions. Yours was right before Bella which made you a little bit more confident because at least you had to do it with your best friend by your side.
You stared again at the big screens in the wall that showed the stage, seeing that it was a little bit dark, there was a big structure rising up from the floor and apparently there was a band inside of it. Everything looked really well produced, and you really tried to recognize in some way the melody of the instrumental song that was playing to know who was the band but your mind was totally blank now. All you could focus on was that you were just about to realize one of your biggest dreams. You looked at the line of tall girls in front of you as you listened to a scream. You knew this song by the melody. You couldn’t believe your ears and eyes. It was Only Angel by Harry Styles, it literally was Harry Styles. For some reason the fact of knowing this song so well made you a lot more confident. He started singing and the stage manager told Romee to go when Harry sang ‘’Broke a finger, knocking on your bedroom door’’ and Romee started doing her fabulous catwalk. And then Laís Ribeiro entered with the fantasy bra, which it’s the million dollar bra from VS, again, probably more expensive that you could afford. By the time that Romee came back from the backstage you were just leaving.
Being there totally put your adrenaline levels the highest it has ever been. The light, the other models, the crowd, the song. Everything was perfect. You were smiling thinking to yourself ‘’please don’t cry, please don’t fall’’, but you manage to do it, one foot in front of the other and posture, you looked glamorous, mostly like what Aphrodite would look like in real life.
‘’I must admit I thought I'd like to make you mine As I went about my business through the warning signs End up meeting in the hallway every single time And there's nothing we can do about it’’
That was the part Harry had just song when you entered. Harry, of course, didn’t know you as you never talked before, except for that one DM. But he was stunned by the moment he saw you walking. He thought to himself how spectacular you looked as you walked towards him with that beautiful smile of yours.
‘’Told it to her brother and she told it to me That she's gonna be angel, just you wait and see’‘
Harry kept singing as you walked beside him. You looked at him and winked at the British boy as you held the baby blue fabric over you up to create a wing effect and Harry was just so caught up with the song and the moment that he kneeled down. Harry Styles literally got on his knees to you while signing those exact words:
‘’When it turns out she's a devil in between the sheets And there's nothing she can do about it Hey, hey’’
You were surprised. Shocked actually. But the show couldn’t stop because you were flattered and honored about the fact that HARRY STYLES GOT ON HIS KNEES for you. So you kept walking and blew a kiss in the air to the camera started to walk back to the backstage when you saw your mom in the crowd looking extremely proud of her baby, you waved at her right before entering the backstage again.
The models were all celebrating and hugging the others. In the moment you step into the backstage Bella came hugging you and you hugged her back. You feel so happy and pround of yourself for that. The camera focused on you guys as you looked to the camera and said ‘’It was amazing!’’. And it really was. Your heart was beating as fast as never and even the same small lady that was fixing your outfit earlier came to you and Bella saying ‘’Come on girls, you have to change outfits!”. You and Bella walked hand in hand to the appareal and only parted ways when had to change lingeries. This time Bella and you wouldn’t walk at the fellow segment and apparently has Harry’s again.
The lingerie looked different though, this one was a black lingerie with actual wings. Some beautiful and medium sized blue wings and blue long gloves. And again you were ready to enter the stage. Looking up to the screens as I was going to watch this time, the big structure was rising from the floor again and Candice Swanepoel entered looking fabulous, I mean, it’s Candace right.
In general, the show was so good. He sang Kiwi, which is one of your favorites. You couldn’t stop singing at the backstage the entire time. And when the entire show was done and everybody was backstage eating pizza so you’re a hundred percent happy now, Harry was a little farther away from you wondering if he should go talk or not with you, even though he have this feeling that he knows you from somewhere and he just can’t remember where. So he decided he would come with the excuse that he thinks he have met you before. Harry walked towards you wearing a black suit with a pink shirt while holding a red cup with coke on. You were so focused on eating your pizza and didn’t even noticed the boy behind you, so he touched your right shoulder with his hand calmly while talking lowly ‘’Excuse me’’ as you turned out to look at him. You were still in your outfit except for those big blue wings that you had already taken off and at that moment Harry thought to himself about even though he had met tons of pretty women in his life but you were the prettiest. Everything about you was beautiful, your eyes, your nose, your lips and that smile you had held up in your face since the runaway. You were focused on his face too. You stared into his big green eyes and how they were sparkling in this moment.
— Hi! I... — He said, brushing his thought of his mind and held out his right hand for you — I’m Harry!
— I know!  — You told him shaking your hands with his as a meeting form, soon using the same his to grab one more piece of pizza  —  I’m Y/N! You were so great out there, really I’m impressed!
  — Oh  —  Harry said while exhaling a small laugh while analyzing your face to try to know with you were flirting, or just being nice. You were just being nice. Of course Harry is extremely handsome, but you really just think he’s being friendly at this moment.  —  So I made a good first impression then! That’s good.
— Excuse me? Of course you did! I love your songs, I’m like a super fan.  —  You told him being honest, you have been normally shy meeting new people, but something in how he acted and talked really made you feel comfortable straight away.
—  I’m flattered! — Harry said, putting his free hand over his clothed while closing his eyes and giving you a cheeky smile — So..Is this your first time in Shanghai?
—   Yes! I haven’t been to many places actually, just basic Fashion Week places by now, which I love of course! Is it your first time too?
— Actually yes! I’m on tour but me and my band mates are gonna take a walk through the city this night, you know, to have a experience  —  Harry explained to you and turned around a little to show you his band mates by the corner of the room where Mitch, Adam, Sarah, Naomi and Charlotte who were staring at you both indiscreetly waved as noticed that Harry were pointing at them. As the nice girl you were, you smiled and waved at them back before returning your attention to Harry  — Maybe you would like to come with us...If you want of course, don’t feel obligated to, please!
You laughed about his concern of making you feel obligated or uncomfortable about something and looked around searching for Bella through the room, you saw her talking with the other models and stared back at Harry.
—  I’m with my friend Bella and we kinda wanted to do the same thing so.. If it’s okay if she comes too, I really want to, don’t worry!   —  You were truthful, you and Bella really were planning to explore Shanghai through the night, but of course you wouldn’t go out in a city you don’t know with a group of people you don’t know. You truly don’t think they would be capable of causing you any kind of harm, but it’s always great to be cautious.
— It’s perfect! Let’s go then, do you want to go now or?... —  Harry asked tenderly while rubbing his multiple rings on his hand.
— I mean...I gotta put some clothes on, but we’ll do it now and we’ll find you guys here?  —  You said, putting a lock of your hair behind your ear before leaving your empty cup by the table beside both of you.
— Sure!
