Blockstream accused of hiring a spy agent to run intelligence and counterintelligence operations on the Bitcoin community
Blockstream, a leading blockchain technology company and the biggest funder of Bitcoin [BTC] has been accused of working with former National Spies by David, an author on Yours org.
The allegation states that the company hired Bill Scannell, a former National Spy of the United States, as a consultant in order to run ‘intelligence and counterintelligence operations on the Bitcoin community’.
The post also points out that during a presentation regarding spying intelligence focused on SIGINT/HUMINT, there was a message on one of the logos regarding the lightning network community. The logo had the inscription, ‘I got Lightning Network but all I got was this sticker’.

The Chief Strategy Officer of Blockstream, Samson Mow has also been accused of being a part of the operations. The allegation against Samson sparked after he was constantly seen around Bill Scannell.
On 24th July 2018, Roger Ver, the CEO of Bitcoin.com on a Reddit post said:
“This guy was with Samson when I had the debate with him in Seoul. He was clearly Samson’s handler at the event [Deconomy].”
Blockstream was started by the Bitcoin protocol developers, Pieter Wuille, Gregory Maxwell, Adam Back, Mark Friedenbach and Matt Corallo. The company is a non-distributing corporation and has more than 50 shareholders. The post claims that after a couple of months of its initiation, the company received $50 million in funding from top venture capitalists.
The main investors of Blockstream are:
Tencent Holdings
Mosaic Ventures
Khosla Ventures
Horizon Ventures
Digital Garage
AXA Venture Partners
AME Cloud Ventures
Horizon Venture is the lead investor in the company. Apart from Adam Back, the Co-Founder of Blockstream Board of Directors is run by bankers.
Shahir Guindi – Bank of Canada
Estelle Metayer – Zag Bank
Tzu Ping Kang – Horizon Ventures
Reid Hoffman – Partner of Greylock Partners, Venture Capital Firm
The long-term developers of Bitcoin founded the company as there was a shortage of trustless cryptographic infrastructure for the Bitcoin ecosystem. The company’s two main projects are the Lightning Network and Sidechain. Sidechain is an extension of a pre-existing blockchain and improves the privacy and performance of the blockchain. Sidechain validates the transaction data of Bitcoin or other cryptocurrencies which is sent from one blockchain to the other.
Blockstream is accused of censoring topics related to the scaling of Bitcoin to more than the 1MB on /r/Bitcoin, Bitcoin Talk, mailing lists, wikis and many other channels. This led to a huge controversy on the sub-Reddit as a lot of posts started disappearing.
The majority of people claimed that Thymos, the owner of the Bitcoin sub-Reddit had tied up with the members of Blockstream to censor and control most Bitcoin communication channels and allegedly, all the censors have been in favor of Blockstream. However, the Blockstream team has outrightly denied any involvement with Thymos.
This is not the first time one of the members of Blockstream has been accused of manipulating the Bitcoin community. Previously, there has been an accusation of connections between Thymos, BitcoinTalk moderator and a Blockstream employee. The allegation states that Thymos paid a part of the money embezzled from the forum to the Blockstream employee, Warren Togami.
Paulh691, a Redditor said:
“Censorship directly tied to Blockstream. Thoroughly rotten to the Core as it seemed.”
The reason for censoring posts related to scaling the Bitcoin blockchain is to scale the use of the sidechains. Reportedly, Blockstream is running its own program to control Bitcoin [BTC] and profit from it.
Following this, according to a post written by Jeff Garzik, a Bitcoin Core developer, Bitcoin is being ‘Hot-Wired for Settlement’.
The blog written by the core developer states that the block size limit of Bitcoin would not change and because of this, the transaction fees increased. Due to this, the Dev decided that it was necessary to change the Bitcoin’s economic system with healthy competition while maintaining the block size. This resulted in Bitcoin Devs proposing a new roadmap.

David Shares, an employee at Bitcoin.com said that for Blockstream to be successful and the sidechains to work, Bitcoin’s blockchain has to be artificially be kept at a low capacity.
He tweeted:
“October 2014: Blockstream announces funding and incorporation of company. March 2015 (just six months later): Blockstream begins work on Lightning Network.”

To all allegations thrown on Blockstream, the CSO of the company, Samson Mow said:
“It’s classified.”

Biography:
TW: Blood and gore. Ritualistic blood bathing. Vampire-centric violence including death and blood drinking. Pregnancy, child abandonment, and reference to abortion.
The story of Aya and her twin sister, Avas, birth is one of legend. Quite literally. Aya and Ava were the first vampires to come into existence, born of a bloodthirsty, cruel bloodline, and a mother who bathed in the blood of virgins, both during her pregnancy, and her daughters in the blood after their birth. No one knows if it was one of these factors or the combination of them, or something else entirely which borne the vampire twins.
There are many oddities about the pair that do not fit the typical molds of other vampires. For one thing, they would discover that all born vampires, aside from themselves, would age normally up about the age of twenty, where their aging process began to slow. For Aya and Ava however, the aging process ceased entirely at age twenty. Now more than half a century old, they appear younger than any other vampire, many of them less than half their age.
For being twins though, and looking completely identical down to every detail, that is where the similarities between the two stop. Aya was always the more level-headed of the two. She planned and schemed, wanting something better for them after they were forced to leave their home, the castle with their mother. Apparently the people of the surrounding town disliked having townsfolk disappear, and began to piece together the twins’ connection to the vanishings.
So Aya ensured they moved around, never in one place for too long. Never in one place long enough for anyone to even realize they had stopped aging. They hadn’t noticed it themselves for quite some time. But as they became more at ease in their apparent immortality, they both began to have more fun. Aya in particular enjoyed the company of travelers passing through whichever town they’d stopped in. This was how she found herself pregnant more than once. A wonderful side effect of her body’s thirst for blood and self-preservation though, meant that she could terminate the pregnancy within minutes, her body feeding on the strange new being that had attempted to take up residence.
It was at Ava’s insistence that she finally decided to carry one to term. It was out of curiosity more than any sense of maternal desire, mind you. And they were both quite disappointed to find that the girl, Elisse they named her, was a gentle thing. She played with the small animals Aya brought her, instead of killing and drinking them. And liked to stay close to her mother and aunt. It was without much care or thought that Aya and Ava left the girl in a park when she was twelve and never looked back. She was a mistake. The next ones? Those were planned, and they were far more satisfying when Aya simply left the bloodthirsty babies to their fathers to deal with.
When Ava discovered her own fascinating quirk, being able to turn people to vampires with a bite, they found several differences between the two. The most notable of which was the fact that when Ava turned a vampire, they remained frozen at their current age, no matter how young they were.
The pair never thought they would find a single place to remain for a long time, given how quickly rumors spread once a pair of vampires came to town, people began disappearing and others started behaving erratically and attacking the other villagers. Ava seemed fine with it, but Aya wasn’t. This wasn’t part of the plan. They couldn’t build anything, create a true legacy, a castle as their mother had, if they continuously moved around. So when word reached them of a place where terrifying creatures roamed and lived, where mystical Artifacts granted powers and cast terrible curses, Aya immediately took Ava and they found passage to Isle Cruento.
As it turned out, the Island itself was in its own kind of turmoil. A Government agency had attempted in vain to take over the island, against families with bloodline ties to these magical Artifacts, what they called the Objects of Deadly Sin. Aya didn’t want to take a side, at least not originally. She wanted her and her sister to rule the island, to turn the creatures of it to vampires. Their children. But it seemed that wasn’t in the cards for them. For reasons not least of which was that there was a creature there, the kelpie, which was immune to Ava’s bite.
It was then that Aya found a man who called himself Wrath. She never knew his true name, and never cared much to know it. For the moniker that everyone called him by was the only name of his that mattered. He had been eager to find out of Aya and Ava, their powers and strengths. Creatures no one had ever seen before on Isle Cruento. He hired them to work for the wrath mafia, for him, and called them Dealers, but they did so much more, as they soon found out. Other Dealers on the island dealt in the acquisition and trade of Artifacts, and Aya and Ava did some of that. But more than that, they carried out the dirty work that needed to be done quietly.
And for over three hundred years now, they have served under a dozen Ira bloodline members that inherited the name Wrath. They killed invaders that would kill one of the Ira family. They stole Objects belonging to other bloodlines to use for leverage, including Spectacles of Envy stolen from the Government, who had stolen it from the Invidia family, (no one need ever know that the twins had taken it; the Invidia family still believed the Government to be in possession of their precious Artifact), and a Watch of Sloth, which they had stolen more than a century ago, and which Aya is fairly certain they’ve forgotten about by now. And once, not long ago, they killed Wrath’s mistress, and went to America. There they found a young teenage boy, who had been given up for a adoption by a foolish woman, who believed she could protect her son from inheriting the headship of the Ira family. From becoming the next Wrath whom they would serve. She was horrifically, and quite comically, wrong.
Much to the annoyance of Wrath’s eldest daughter, Hayes, who wasn’t even immune and was quite a blemish on the family, in Aya’s opinion, they brought the boy, Holidae Rhett, back to Isle Cruento. While Hayes began her Guardian training, more than a decade too late, Aya and Ava began preparing Holidae to take his father’s place as Wrath. Something odd about the boy that had always been unsettling to Aya though, was that he could tell her and her sister apart. No one had ever been able to do such a thing, but he claimed the truth was in their eyes. In the set of their shoulders and how they carried themselves. Aya has wondered if there’s more than that which he knows that he doesn’t let on.
It’s been nearly a decade now since Holidae became the most recent in a long line of Wraths whom Aya has served. In decades and centuries past, there were always disagreements about who should be next in line to take the headship, but it was always agreed upon by the elders of a family. Never before has it been such a thing as this, where a grown bloodline member, promised and prepared for the headship, has had it ripped away. And while Aya would happily stay on the sidelines of the family scuffle, she’s afraid her dear sister has become too invested in the family that they serve, mistaking their kindness and kinship for love.
Recently though, there’s been outside forces attacking along with those internal. Specifically, the family’s original Gun of Wrath was stolen, and Ava and Aya found it in possession of an odd young man, with an accent eerily close to the one that Wrath had when the twins found him in America. When they presented the culprit, thief most likely, before Wrath, neither of them expected the look of shocked recognition on his face. He knew this man.
Personality:
Aya is cold and calculating. Her smile is deceptive and devious, making her appear as innocent as a newborn to anyone who doesn’t truly know her. But to those select few? They know not to trust that innocent smile or wide doe eyes. They hide a coldness only rivaled by that of her late mother. She has a strong set of morals, though perhaps not in the way that most would see morality. She will never go back on a promise, though she may not fulfill it as a person expects her to, and enjoys talking in circles to avoid making promises she’d rather not keep, though still offering enough to appease anyone that asks something of her.
She is also wholeheartedly devoted to her job, and fulfilling the promises she first made the Wrath that hired her: to forever protect the Ira family, and do her duty to the current Wrath head. That being said, she feels nothing besides obligatory respect towards any of the Ira family. Aya will show devotion to each Wrath that takes the headship, but doesn’t grieve their deaths. As far as she is concerned, she has survived the last dozen Wraths, and she will survive the next dozen. The current family member bearing the name Wrath is just another on the list.
Appearance:
Aya enjoys dressing as elegantly as the noble status she was born to would provide her. Now that she has a well-paid position within the Wrath mafia, she enjoys spending her money on beautiful jewelry and elegant garments. Things many would call vintage, but they are things she recalls coming into style many decades ago. She loves dark colors, particularly dresses of deep reds and purples, colors that allude to a person of high status.
Inciting Incident:
For centuries Aya has managed to stay on the sidelines, make her and her sister just useful enough to keep around, but still stay at arm’s distance from the family they served. It’s becoming more difficult now, and if Ava continues to want to intervene in matters not of their concern, Aya knows she’ll have to find a way to step in, or get her sister away from the problem.

BAD TYPE
“DESIGNER MIGRANE” - SHAHIR ZAG
Zag has a humorous taste in typography, by taking all that is bad with typography and putting it into one design. Firstly the boring monotone colours and simple font which lack visual interest. As well as the design flaws of inconsistent leading, causing some lines to over lap and become hard to read. Also there is a wide range of kerning being used within the design making it feel inconsistent and messy. Messiness is also conveyed due to the mixture of alignments being used for the sentence, this either being flush left or central. Overall these design flaws doesn't invite the audience to read the type due to it appearing cluttered and lacks excitment.
“OK MAGAZINE”
OK magazine uses a range of sans serif type faces to portray the information inside the magazine. Even though the typography used has correct basic kerning and leading the type is very boring and not eye-catching. A specific design fault I hate about this work is how the image over laps the typographic logo, causing the whole layout to be messy. Yet the magazine does use type hierarchy to portray the information across
