If Sharrowkyn is a no-go does that mean Shadrak Meduson is as well? No prob if not, Meduson is such an underloved character imo. The iron hands need more bois like him!

No, no, he's okay! I'm not that interested in Iron Hands - I'm indifferent towards them in Heresy-times and actively cultivating my WTF?-face towards them in 40k (only read one book about them in 40k, though). But he really is palpatable. I get "I just want to get this job done and now I am stuck with that cringy showoff, great Ferrus' ghost, what have I done to deserve this?"-vibes from him and that's very relatable. 😁

narcissus: Darling my whole BODY is my best feature. hydrangea : My Proudest moment? Hmm, I have so many of them. I think my favorite was nearly killing Guiliman, but honestly, my Proudest moment was with Morty, oddly enough. We got Ambushed, and I use this term loosely, by  Shadrak Meduson, the Iron Hand’s Commander at the time. Man come in with 5 Raptors, get’s beaten up, and leaves with only 4 raptors. Alte Erde Die Reise zu den Toren von Terra By Nick Kyme @black_library_official . Nach zwei Wochen Urlaub wird es mal wieder Zeit für ein Buch. "Alte Erde" las ich bereits vor dem Urlaub zuende. Während des Urlaubs habe ein gutes Stück vom ersten Buch der Sicarius Trilogie geschafft :) . Nick Kyme sagte mir bereits etwas. Ich hatte bereits ein paar seiner Salamanders Romane gelesen (Feuersalamander, Nocture...). Die Salamanders im allgemeinen aber auch ihr Primarch sind ultimativ interessant. Ich kann schon mal eine vorab Empfehlung geben. Sollte sich meiner Meinung nach jeder Warhammer40k Fan der Bock auf lesen hat und dessen mächtig ist zu Gemüte geführt haben. Was ich allerdings noch nicht gelesen habe sind die beiden Vorgänger von "Alte Erde"... Es handelt sich bei allem um mehr oder weniger abgeschlossene Bücher aber die beiden von denen ich rede ("Todesfeuer" und "Vulkan", ebenfalls Horus Heresy Bücher) könnte man schon als legitime Vorgänger bezeichnen. . Bei "Alte Erde" haben wir einen interessanten Stil. Sehr viele Bücher beschädigen sich für die nötige Spannung und um möglichst viel Info einzubringen mit zwei oder sogar drei Erzählstränge. In diesem Fall haben wir vier. Zugegebener Maßen ist der vierte sehr klein aber trotzdem sehr interessant. . Strang1: Vulkans Weg nach Terra Strang2: Der Krieg des Shadrak Meduson von den Iron Hands Strang3: Eldrad Ulthran vom Weltenschiff Ulthwe gegen seine ehemaligen Verbündeten Strang4: Die menschlichen Verteidiger der Mauer des imperialen Palastes haben mächtig Probleme. Obwohl kein Chaos Marine In Sicht ist. . Ihr seht es gibt vieles zu entdecken, grade der eingeworfene Strang über Meduson und seine Iron Hands macht das ganze sehr vielseitig. Vulkan, mein drittliebster unter den Primarchen, ist meiner Meinung nach vollkommen unterschätzt und bekommt endlich ein Buch in dem er sich mal beweisen kann! . Sehr gern lesen Leute. On the bridge, dripping blood that wasn’t all his own, Shadrak had taken the last message from Amadeus DuCaine. His old friend. His commander from the very start. ‘The Gorgon’s dead!’ DuCaine had yelled at him over the link, the image of him fracturing and breaking up. ‘My lord?’ ‘He’s dead! He’s gone! Fulgrim butchered him! They’re all dying, Shadrak! It’s a bloody massacre! An obscenity!’ ‘My lord, move your ship clear of the line!’ ‘Too late, boy! The drive’s gone for good. Hull plates are splitting. We prevailed!’ The lord commander’s voice had become a brittle screech. Shadrak had not been sure if it was through pain, or the strangling distortion of the vox. ‘My lord? Lord Commander DuCaine?’ The image blinked on and off, choppy and broken. ‘Raise the storm, Shadrak! Raise the bloody storm, my boy! Tell the Tenth to raise the storm and take every last one of the bastards to hell!’

What's even funnier with Shadrak Meduson is that he's not actually from Medusa. His birth world was Terra and his original surname is actually Smyth. Shadrak adopted Medusa's customs and changed his surname after Ferrus was found.

This is one of the funniest exchanges I've read in the Heresy:
