>> koi ladki agar sabse buri hoti hai toh wo shaadi ke baad hoti hai. Mujhe nahi pata tha me itni buri hu, par me sacch bolti hu jo ke kadva sacch hota hai aur wo kadva sacch hemant ko sunne ki himmat nahi hai. Aaj bahut ladayi ki maine, isne cheat kia mujhe, iske ghar walo ne jewellery churayi meri, mere naam pe itne loan liye jiske din mein mere paas kam se kam 25 calls aate hai, mere ghar log paisa mangne aate hai, mera address dia hai isme, toh sunaungi na me. Kya galat hu me? Khud toh bhaag gaya, number bandh kar dia, mujhe yaha mere bacche ke sath akele kahi jane mein sharam aati hai ke kaise me logo ko face karungi jab sab bacche apne maa aur baal dono ke sath hote hai. Iske parents ke nature ki wajah se shaadi ke baad se maine alag ghar lene bola, toh ye bolta tha me tujhe chor dunga par parents ko nahi, bahut royi hu me 3 saal waha, ab inko rote hue kuch mahine kya hue hemant mujhe blame kar raha hai ke maine baddua di, meri agar koi dua puri hoti toh me khud ki khushi na maang leti? Ye inke karmo ki saza hai, mujhe rulane ki saza hai, mere 3 saal ki saza dega Bhagwan inko, Bhagwan ne har cheez dekhi hai, har baat ko isne jhutha thehraya hai, bota hai maine cheat nahi kia, bolta hai jewellery nahi churayi, mere parents ko sath lekar hi chalunga Mumbai bhi! Humare rishtey sirf aur sirf iske parents ki wajah se kharab hue hai, divorce bhi hoga, Bhagwan banayenge aisi situation ke mujhe divorce uss aadmi se lena hi padega. Ye log jiye ya mare mujhe fark nahi padta hai lekin jab tak ye mera pati hai tab tak yahi chahungi ke ye log sirf tadpe, inki betiya bhi apne apne pati se alag ho jaye, meri family kharab ki hai na inn logo ne, mera pati inn logo ki wajah se kabhi mera nahi ho paya, mere bacche ko baap nahi mila, kabhi khush nahi rahenge ye log, bas agar mujhe paisa kamana aa jaye toh mujhme har cheez ka confidence aa jayega, logo se milne lagungi, chup chup nahi rahungi sabke beeche. Mujhe itna downgrade kabhi feel nahi hua shaadi se pehle, mera decision galat tha papa, aap sab sahi the, mujhe nahi karni chahiye thi isse shaadi, maine apni aur apne bacche ki zindagi kharab kardi. i am sorry. Ab lagta hai acha hua Milan jane ki zidd nahi ki, kya pata wo decision bhi mera galat hota. i wish me time mein peeche jau aur iss aadmi se milu hi nahi. Meri life mein kabhi koi aadmi ka acha role ya relation nahi raha mujhse. Bachpan se hi papa se itna darr tha kyuki wo bahut maarte the mummy and rakshit ko, bahut daant te the, haar baat unse chupani padti thi, phir rakshit ne bhi kabhi mujhpe dhyan nahi dia, usne hamesha nafrat hi ki mujhse, wo bhai nahi hai mera, dushman zyada hai, phir laga Browniee mujhe sunte hai, laga wo hasate hai, laga wo aadmi hai meri life mein jo ek ladki ko chahiye hota hai par nahi, wo bahut daant te the mujhe, har baat pe rok tok karte the, bahut royi udhar bhi me, phir hemant aaya aur bola teri aankhon mein kabhi aansoo nahi aane dunga, wo din hai aur aaj ka din hai, sirf royi hi hu me. Meri life mein shayad kisi ka male role likha hi nahi hai. Ab shayad mujhe kisi se pyaar bhi nahi hoga na hi trust hoga. Mummy aur meri life aisi hi nikli, mummy ne kaise handle kia ye sab, me nahi kar pa rahi, mujhe maut hi sahi option lagta hai par Nivaan ne zinda rakha hai mujhe, iske liye subha uthti hu, raat ko soti hu, nahi toh iss shaadi ne toh mujhe maar hi dia. Har baar hemant ke liye waha adjust kia lekin usne mere liye kya kia? Kya solution nikala? Upar se expect karta hai aur bolta hai tu mera aisi situation mein sath nahi de sakti kaisi biwi hai, maine kaha mere sath kiye har baat ki saza hai ye tum logo ki, ek dhokhebaaz aur chor parivaar ka sath me kabhi nahi de sakti. Mujhe nahi lagta me galat hu God, me sacch bolti hu, aaj uska number maine de dia bank wale ko, me aur kab tak iss insaan ko bacahu? Kitna bhi karlo hamesha yahi bolta hai mere baap ke alava kisi ne kuch nahi kia, hamesha bolta hai maine tere liye kia hai tune kya kiya Guddu mere liye aaj tak. Gussa kyu nahi ayga mujhe? Kaise baddua na nikle? Kaise apne saare aansoo bhul jau? Mera Bhagwan betha hai, saare hisaab lega wo🙏🏼

Hey Jwb,
How are you?
I was watching the dadi track when Dadi was exposing that Arnav and Khushi didn't take pheres, And I really loved the way Arnav took a stand for Khushi, but idk why Arnav didn't tell everyone that it was a contract marriage, He only mentioned that "Me jaanta hu meri aur khushi ki shaadi kin halaat me hui", He should've disclosed that he married khushi for 6 months only and he should've explained the reason behind the contract marriage infront of Raizadas and Madhumati, I feel like if Arnav would've disclosed it at that moment, Then no one would've dared to say anything about khushi especially Dadi, Madhumati and Garima. So i really wanted to know your opinion about this? Don't you think the idea of disclosing about 6 months marriage contract would have saved Khushi from facing humiliation in front of everyone!?
Hey Anon,
Two things happened on the night of elopement.
1) Arnav forced/blackmailed Khushi to stay with him for six months
2) he drafted a shady six months marriage agreement with Khushi
The first one reflects his terrible actions. The second one nullifies the marriage after six months.
We are to assume Arnav has told everyone how the marriage came to be. Nani is aware because of Arnav saying “I made the biggest mistake of my life” and Buaji is furious, she yells at Khushi later that Arnav is as rotten as his grandmother because he forced her into marrying him and she will not let her child be humiliated again.
Arnav is completely fine being insulted over his lack of character and morality.
But given dadi is in the house, who is waiting to tear Khushi away from him and essentially remove any and every Raizada right from her - Arnav would never disclose the contractual marriage because it would harm Khushi more than Arnav.
The very fact that just because one Hindu wedding ritual didn’t happen - his whole family invalidates the wedding. Even Nani - who knows the circumstances of the wedding! (Which is why Arnav is so disappointed in his family for keeping quiet when Dadi spew crap against Khushi).
The only way Arnav gains control over the situation and still demands respect for Khushi in the house is with the fact that they’re legally married. (Which makes me believe they never signed any contract papers at all, they were just regular wedding papers that Arnav would’ve annulled after six months and one of the ways to annul a marriage is to claim there’s been no consensual physical relationship between the spouses thus the hut scene and the attempted suhaagraat is technically so important cause it then pushes the annulment into a divorce which can only happen one year after, not six months. It solidifies their marriage in more ways than one*).
This is a patriarchal world and Khushi is under a lot of protection by legally being Mrs. Raizada. From financial to legal protection. People think twice before commenting because she is the wife of one of the most powerful person in India. Do I like this concept in terms of my feminist ideas - no. Is this reality? Yes.
Removing the protection of marriage over Khushi’s head would give him no right to defend Khushi before Dadi and no right for him to prevent her family from taking her away from him. Also he would have no way to give her financial protection either. With her as his legal wife she has right to his assets and properties.
And at that situation his Dadi (and Shyam) are waiting for Khushi to be “single” again because then they can rip her character to pieces. It is point to be noted that Dadi does come against Khushi viciously with the belief that Khushi isn’t Arnav’s wife because they’re religiously invalid (perhaps Shyam told her they’re legally invalid after six months but Dadi being a traditionalist thought the Hindu wedding rituals mean more so despite her wishes she has to acknowledge Khushi as Arnav’s wife).
So when she learns that the Hindu weddings rituals didn’t happen, she unleashes her venom. She believes Arnav is lying when he states Khushi is his legally wedded wife because Shyam has told Dadi otherwise.
And what was aggressive bullying before (when she believed Khushi was Arnav’s religiously wedded wife) became full character assassination against Khushi by Dadi.
Arnav’s family though are emotionally hurt by the fact that their Chotte didn’t have enough grace to respect Khushi and his family with a valid marriage when he is aware how important religion and rituals are to them. They’re coming from their own pov that Arnav’s actions are disrespectful to the Hindu institution of marriage and to Khushi.
Which is why they’re overjoyed when Arnav tells he’s going to marry his own wife again. And you can notice that no one in the family - except Dadi - takes the marriage seriously either because they all know Khushi is Arnav’s wife. It’s about the rituals and giving Khushi the respect. They relax the mehendi ceremony with the couple celebrating together. No one questions ArShi sneaking off in between the wedding and even plan the Haldi together and a meet up after Haldi! Because they know that they are ultimately a married couple.
It’s funny that they say “oh you can’t meet after Haldi” and they keep meeting 😂 its more to tease their legs than anything tbh. Also Khushi and Arnav sleep together right before they’re religiously wedded which is incredibly significant.
It’s about bringing Khushi home with rituals and respect. Otherwise the Buaji who forbid Akash from meeting his fiancé at New Year’s chuckles on realizing Arnav sneaked in and met Khushi - in her bedroom, in private - right after the wedding was discussed.
She even teases Khushi that they know who sneaked in instead of questioning her over it because even they know this isn’t about the legality of the wedding. For Khushi’s family it’s about the respect - hers and the rituals.
Hope this answered your question :)

Bandage to the Heart | Part - 2
<<part - 1
"You have grown up so much. Whatever will I do without you in this place after today?"
"Nothing. You would do nothing without me", said Khushi sensing incoming waterworks.
"Jiji, I stay barely half an hour away from Shantivan. And Holi is just a handful of days away. Even after that we'll visit each other at least once a week. Kya pata without me you might burn this place down" she finished fake-haughtily.
Payal chuckled wiping a tear.
"Once a week hi kyun? That won't be enough. I'd want to check on others in the family too. Just in case they get dabao-fied under your tyranny."
"Sundays for Nani-ji, Mondays - Anjali-ji, Tuesdays and Wednesdays for Mama-ji and Mami-ji. Thursdays for Nanheji and Fridays for poor Jijaji."
"And whom did you mark Saturdays for? Laxmi-ji?" asked Payal, now laughing.
"Woh toh I've saved for Laad-Governor, woh kya hain, it's the weekend and he won't be busy preparing for Mondays like he does on Sundays - and I can make him sit and watch Salman Khan ji's movies with me." her hands busy with her lehenga again and eyes glittering with dreams of Dum Aloo and the Dabaang series with her Darling Singh Raizada.
"Huh?"
"huh?"
"Haan.. movies with Arnavji, Satsang with Mamiji, disco with Hari Prakash ji. All very realistic possibilities. He-he" she tried saving the situation.
"Jiji, bahut baatein karti ho. Tumhe aaj shaadi karni hain ki nahin?" throwing the lehenga and jewelry onto the bed, she scrambled to reach for the door.
"I'll go check on Amma & Buaji, they must have gotten ready by now. They might need an extra hand with setting down the madap ka samaan" and off she ran leaving Payal with a curious expression on her face.
Now that her Arnavji was back on her mind, she allowed herself a shy smile. She had grown used to her dhak-dhak in the past few days. It actually feels weirdly lonely without it paired with the 'acidity'. The bindi he used earlier to do his bidding sat warmly between her brows. It was the same one she put on this morning but with his little gesture, it felt.. she felt - very different. She touched it and thought back to the way he made his intention very clear. Are they the same pair they were a few weeks ago?
"Na tumhari shakal dekhni hai, na tumse koi baat karni hai"
Yet he seemed weirdly angry when he thought he would never get to see her face again. Was it her fault he mistook that she got into an accident? He shook her and shook her more that evening, snapping at her when she started to go with Nanheji again. Fumed as he drove the car ~slowly~ to bring her back. Yelled at her when she cut her arm with the bangles of the wrong size. Did not hesitate to give his input on which saree she should select for herself this morning.
Laad Governer kahin ke. Khushi rolled her eyes fondly.
"Na hi hum aapse baat karna chahte, aur na hi aapki shakal dekhna chahte"
But she made a fool of herself flitting around Shantivan, kicking herself for asking Devi Maiyya to take him away from her sight. She couldn't sit peacefully by her Jiji, got a hasty mehendi design to get it over with so she could step away from all prying eyes and ring his phone incessantly. She had asked Anjali ji once, Nani-ji next if he was back yet. 3 hours? She had counted all 10,800 seconds. She played a dangerous gamble holding the phone close while apologizing profusely for wishing she could never see him again. He looked delicious though, waving the voicemail right in her face. A proud smirk on his lips appeared as he noticed his 'A' on her palm and her brains were F-R-I-E-D. Maybe sometimes for this very purpose, she secretly liked it when he caught her being an idiot.
Lost in her thoughts her feet carried her up the stairs of this now very familiar house which almost felt like her own.
"Khushi ji!" called OP after her. He ran up to the study where she was standing with an envelope in his hand.
"Are you going up Khushi ji? Can you please give this to Anjali Didi? I have to check on the drinks and snacks being served to the guests" Khushi smiled and took the envelope from his hand that had some diagnostic lab name written on it. OP vanished through the side hallway into the kitchen thanking the nice girl in his head.
Khushi reached the first floor landing with eyes still out for her Arnavji. Should she go to his room? Was he in there? What excuse could she make up to see his face?
The door to Anjali ji's room was open to the far right end and she willed herself into that direction instead. Her dear friend who is almost like a sister was beside herself with joy the past few days, arranging everything to her brand of perfection. Khushi closed a fist and knocked on the door when she reached there before she putting a tentative foot inside.
"Anjali ji.." Khushi peeked into the room to make sure the dung beetle Shyam wasn't there. Instead, she saw the man from her thoughts with his head on his Di's lap, and she…
"ANJALI JI!!"

ARC Review of Tastes Like Shakkar by Nisha Sharma
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Summary:
Wedding planner Bobbi Kaur is determined to make sure her friends Kareena and Prem's wedding goes off without a hitch, even if it means working with popular chef Benjamin 'Bunty' Padda. Bobbi and Benjamin may not have gotten off to a great start, but doesn't stop their mutual attraction. As they try to solve the mystery of who's sabotaging the wedding, they quickly fall into a relationship even as they know there's a deadline approaching...
My review:
I enjoyed this book a lot more than I was expecting based on some of Nisha Sharma's earlier books that I've read including Dating Dr. Dil, the book prior to Tastes Like Shakkar. I thought Benjamin and Bobbi were solid characters individually, I bought their chemistry, and I really liked the background cast of their friends and The Aunties.
I'm not going to lie, I initially thought a "shaadi saboteur" would make for a really hokey plot, but I was invested because I was firmly on Bobbi and Benjamin's side and rooting for their success. I think that conflict's resolution might have been a bit rushed and contrived, but until then, it worked. Also, Nisha mentioned in her acknowledgements that she wanted to explore the concept of "family managers" in Indian culture namely, when children feel like their value to the family is conflated with the help the provide which is... so so accurate. The shaadi saboteur plot really pushed that idea to the forefront of my mind while I was reading, because Bobbi was determined to prove to her value to her family and her friend whose wedding she's planning to the extent where she thinks that's all she's worth. Benjamin had a similar conflict with his own dad who, get this, runs a frozen naan empire.
Regarding Bobbi and Benjamin's relationship, the blurb pushes the "enemies" aspect of their relationship but in actuality, they know pretty early on that they have sexual chemistry, and after the first time they have sex, they're basically in a relationship. It's fairly early on in the story, but I actually liked that. The plot took the time to explore their growing relationship and you could understand what drew them to each other, and perhaps more importantly what kept them together which, in my opinion, might have been how they handled the long-distance aspect of their relationship.
I love how Nisha wrote the long-distance relationship in an epistolary format, like, that's what convinced me they should stay together. There were texts, cute little notes, checking in on each other, Benjamin ordered Bobbi food when he knew she'd forget, and of course, there had to be phone sex. Which I thought was pretty solid all things considered. Speaking of sex—
The sex:
Here's my thing: Authors can sometimes get weird about people of color and sex, and even moreso about people of color and kink. I think it's this paranoia about how they're depicting the characters' sexuality, their bodies, and how "correct" they're being about the sex (oh and some strange detours into multilingual dirty talk in a way that fetishizes the language) that gets in the way of writing sex scenes that are actually... sexy. But I thought Nisha handled this potential pitfall really well here. The fact that Bobbi isn't conventionally skinny? It's touched upon just the right amount and her body is described during sex, but Nisha never harps on it. The fact that Benjamin enjoys bondage during sex? He explained it to Bobbi frankly, checked in with her, but otherwise it was no big deal. Their desire for one another was frank and explicit. There was no place for coyness here. I only wished some the scenes themselves could be a little longer.
Stand-out moments include:
a) First sex scene was at the 44% mark and that made me happy. It was a storage room oral moment on those decorative throne things they make South Asian brides and grooms sit on during their wedding reception which I thought was hilarious
b) A blowjob scene that surprised me because she was laying down and he like, actually straddled her chest and went for it, which I don't see in a lot of contemporary romances.
c) At one point during sex they were looking at themselves in a mirror and Bobbi likened herself to those women in old Indian paintings with their hips and stomachs out and I just thought that was really beautiful and body-affirming.
Overall:
This might be one of the best rom-coms I've read in a long time. It accomplished exactly what it set out to do: You got that desi rep (specifically that Jersey desi rep— iykyk) with a solid cast of Indian characters, a great romance that's probably as hot as any rom-com will ever get, and plot that was funny and sweet in equal measure. I would absolutely recommend it to anyone who's remotely interested in this genre.
Thank you to Avon and Harper Voyager and NetGalley for an advanced copy of this book in exchange for my review.

Rose scents, rose flavors, and rose-everything. Still wish to wear a rose garland at my wedding. They say roses are red. Violets are blue. I’m not shaadi shuda. I have no clue. Waiting till the day they pull off my shoe.

uk I always wished to God that jab bhi mein shaadi kru, mujhe aisa ladka mile jo ki mujhe bohot pyaar kare and mere liye kuch bhi karne ke liye taiyar ho. Jaroori nhi hai ki woh smart handsome dashing good looking, slim fit ho. Bas dil ka acha aur saaf hona chahiye, jo apne aap se zyada mujhe importance de.
and 3 saal pehle mujhe mera krish mil gya. hai hi yeh itna pyaara, chah ke bhi ise chodh nhi sakti.

Vivah: The Pisces-Cancer Energy is High
Follow me on Instagram: @thatguyanesejournalist
Let’s talk about Sooraj Barjatya’s Vivah.
Tumblr media
Poonam is a traditional young woman set to marry Prem, a groom chosen by her uncle. Poonam and Prem's faith and love are tested however, when an accident occurs that alters Poonam’s life.
Tumblr media
I’ll be honest. This may be the first movie in the new blog format that has a short and mainly positive review. I grew up watching this movie, and it has remained one of my favorites as I have gotten older.
The pacing of the film’s plot is consistent. It doesn’t feel too fast or too slow; all the scenes are in the movie for a purpose.
The plot is also very family-focused, its message laced with the importance of tradition and responsibility. These ideas are to be expected from Barjatya’s film as it’s not the first time he’s presented them to an audience (see Maine Pyar Kiya, Hum Aapke Hain Koun, and Hum Saath Saath Hain for reference).
Tumblr media
If I had to be nitpicky (just to play devil’s advocate), I would say the film at times gets a tad preachy with its dialogue about family values between in-laws. I think it reached a peak for me when Prem’s father comes to the hospital to support Poonam’s family and says something along the lines of, “We are family now. We need to stick together.” That line, and many others, come across as speaking more towards the audience than to the characters themselves. But I digress, mainly because the film does its best to not be boring (especially with the twist at the end). Some of my absolute favorite moments in the film are:
When Prem starts imagining that everyone on the plane is some iteration of Poonam
The sindoor scene between Prem and Poonam in the hospital
Tumblr media
The soundtrack, composed by Ravindra Jain, is memorable but a tad monotonous. I loved the pairing of Udit Narayan and Shreya Ghoshal’s voices, but I wished there were more upbeat songs between them (I guess we got Milan Abhi Adha Adhura Hai, but it’s still a bit slow at times). My favorite songs from this movie are:
Hamari Shaadi Mein
Tere Dware Pe Aai Baraat
Do Anjaane Ajnabi
Tumblr media
The movie is 167 minutes long (2 hours and 47 minutes). Stream it with subtitles here, grab a snack, and enjoy!

A series of bitter sweet goodbyes:
Tumblr media
A class of 30 people, a group of pals who shared all the bitter sweet moments and moral companionship.
Tumblr media
Little did we realise all the good times we spent together are now turning into memories. Now the moments are morphed into memories and no doubt reminiscing the good old days will bring ecstatic smiles on our faces.
It's a strange feeling when I'm finally going to leave college, we had a love-hate relationship with our campus. I didn't think it would make me this sad. I'll not only miss these people but I'll also miss the person I was around in that place, between those people. I fear I'll never be that person ever again because we're getting older and I hate how fast the night changes.
I'll miss how we bunked classes, how we used to sit at our favourite spots for hours not wanting to leave, how we attended classes just for the sake of attendance, how our relation with canteen food evolved, from hating canteen food as freshers to having canteen food everyday. I know these will all be stories someday, and our pictures will become old photographs, all our funny videos will become memories. I just wanted to pen it down so that when I look back in time all my memories are preserved safe in a coffer. There are far too many things that I'm going to miss about that place and those people.
The people I shared smiles with are going to swift away, part ways and I'm sure it's for the better. How I wish time could stay just a little while but life goes on and on. I'm so glad to have met them, these people are going to continue their journey and all I wish for them is eternal bliss. It's making me so emo right now to think that these people are going to be parents one day, find their partners and grow in life. Let's end it here with the note that I wish them all the best for their futures and I know they're going to do amazing things in life and I wish them nothing but best with lots of luck, love and light.

He’s the only person who knows me more than i know myself, he knows the real me, i know i’ve changed a lot, ab mere andar 30 qualities bhi nahi hai out of 60, a lot has changed! i really hope meri shaadi ke baad se uske andar mere liye zero feelings reh gayi ho, bahut hurt kia hai usko maine but happy memories bhi sirf ussi ke sath hai meri, wo din bhar baat karna, hasna, rona, terrace pe jana, uska mujhe raato ko sulana, har choti se choti baat share karna, wo meri har problem ka solution nikalta, when i miss me, i automatically start missing him, i don’t know who i am, hemant ke dhokha dene ke baad me babut badal gayi, mere andar sirf nafrat reh gayi, hemant aakhri shaqs hai jiske liye mujhme feelings thi, now i am numb, my heart can’t feel anything for anyone, i am a heartless person, i’ve become hopeless, i am so easily replaceable by these men that now i cannot trust anyone, i cannot love anyone, agar Dorae meri age ka hota toh kya me uske liye feel karti uss waqt? Kya hum life partners ache hote? i feel ke life partners se acha dost bane raho, dost ke sath aap sacche hote ho, life partner ke sath nahi. Me hemant ko kadva sacch toh batati hu par utni hi zyada fake bhi hu uske sath, usko zabardasti ka i love you bolna, zabardasti bolna ke haan mujhe acha lag raha hai tumhare sath time spend karna, kyuki wo mujhe kabhi samajh hi nahi paya, bahut baar sab sacch bola par wo nahi manta hai toh fake hona padta hai, kash wo mujhe samajhne ki koshish karta jaise Doare karta tha, shaadi ke baad bahut miss kia hai Dorae ko, bahut akeli hogyi, aisa hogya jaise adhuri si hu, jaise mere paas aankhein toh hai par dekh nahi sakti. Bahut bahut bahut zaruri hai life mein ek aisa insaan hona jo aapko samjhe, jo aapko appreciate kare, jo aapki pasandida cheezon ka mazzak na udaaye, wo samjhe ke hurt ho raha hai toh dhyaan rakhe, wo samjhe ke har waqt khud ki tareef karna aur bina matlab ke gyaan dene se kuch nahi hota hai, pati hai islye har cheez pehle usse puchni padti hai, pehle usko puchna padta hai kahi bahar chale kya otherwise mera mann nahi hota hai. i just wish Doraemon gets his Mi-chan and stay happy and healthy forever!🧡

When Young Sanjay Dutt 'Proposed' to Saira Banu: A Heartwarming Memory
On Sanjay Dutt's birthday, July 29, yesteryear actress Saira Banu shared a delightful story from his childhood. Taking to Instagram, she reminisced about the time when a young Sanjay “proposed” to her, capturing the sweet bond they've shared over the years.
Tumblr media
Saira posted a touching photo of Sanjay with her late husband, the legendary Dilip Kumar, and wrote, “@duttsanjay has always been like family to me. From Ammaji to Aapaji, to Sahib, and to me, we’ve watched him grow from a tiny toddler into the remarkable person he is today.”
Saira and Dilip Kumar enjoyed a close relationship with Sanjay’s parents, Sunil Dutt and Nargis Dutt. She recalled, “When Nargis Aapa would come to our house for functions, he would accompany her – this cute, good-looking kid… Nargis Ji would then shake his hands and say, ‘Chalo, Saira Ji ko bolo tum kya bolte ho mujhe? (Tell Saira ji, what you keep telling me)’. And then Sanju would look at me and say, ‘Main Shaila Banu se shaadi karunga’ (I’ll marry Saira Banu) in a cute little voice. So adorable! I believe Sharmila Tagore and I were Sanju’s top favorites.”
She concluded her heartfelt note with, “Many hands make light work. We’ve all cherished being part of his journey. He holds a special place in my heart. With all my love and blessings, I wish him a very happy birthday.”
Sanjay Dutt, who turned 65 on Friday, was recently seen in a cameo in Shah Rukh Khan’s Jawan. He will next appear in filmmaker Prem’s multilingual pan-India film KD – The Devil, where he is introduced as ‘Dhak Deva’.

Bollywood-Inspired Birthday Wishes for Your Wife: Express Love like a Star
Tumblr media
In the spirit of Bollywood, where romance reigns and heartfelt dialogues tug at our heartstrings, expressing love for your wife on her birthday can be a filmy affair, filled with the charm and warmth of India's favorite film industry. Let's craft some simple yet sweet birthday wishes for your wife that echo Bollywood's grandeur without being too over the top.
Start with a Touch of Drama
In true Bollywood style, begin your birthday wish with a touch of drama that could light up her eyes the way she lights up the screen in your life. "In the movie of my life, you are my leading lady, and today is the grand premiere of another beautiful year. Happy Birthday, my star!"
Add A Romantic Song Lyric
No Bollywood movie is complete without a romantic song. Think of lyrics from songs she loves and tweak them to suit your message. "Just like in 'Tum Hi Ho', you truly are my life, my happiness. Wishing you a melodious birthday, my love."
Celebrate Her Qualities
Embrace the exaggerated praises often found in Bollywood scripts and spotlight her best qualities. "To my heroine who has the strength of 'Jhansi Ki Rani' and the grace of 'Chandni', may your birthday glow with love and excitement."
Cue the Bollywood Romance
Emulate those epic romantic scenes where the hero expresses his undying love. "Every day with you feels like I have won the 'Best Life Partner' award.
On your special day, I promise to love you more with each breath, just as Shah Rukh Khan says, 'Hum Ek Baar Jeete Hain, Ek Baar Marte Hain, Shaadi Bhi Ek Baar Hoti Hai… Aur Pyar… Ek Hi Baar Hota Hai!'"
Use Iconic Dialogues with a Twist
Take popular Bollywood movie dialogues and give them a birthday spin. "In the words of Raj from 'DDLJ', 'Mujhe aisa lagta hai ki tum sirf meri ho… Kyunki har saal tum sirf meri birthday girl banti ho.' Happy Birthday to my one and only!"
Keep it Sweet and Simple
Finally, remember the simple, touching scenes that often have the most impact. "No fancy words, just a simple beat of my heart that says 'I love you' on your special day and always. Happy Birthday, my beautiful wife."
Sample Bollywood Birthday Wishes
Here are a few Bollywood-inspired birthday wishes you can personalize for your wife:
"Happy Birthday to the woman who fills my life with love and laughter as Kareena Kapoor said in 'Jab We Met', You are my 'Geet' who turned my world around."
"Like every Bollywood happily-ever-after, I wish you a birthday full of joy and a life filled with bliss. You are my 'Simran,' and our love story is just beginning."
"On your birthday, I wish to promise you, like 'Veer-Zaara', ours is a love that will stand the test of time. Happy Birthday, Meri Zindagi."
