I have no fucking idea where I'm going with this or WHY I'm doing this, well kinda, a mutual of mine got really excited and wanted to see this actually become a thing, and at the point of me writing this I have been obsessing over this movie for like 2 weeks now or more so we're here now I guess I've done way to much research about 1900-1920, and WW1 for me not to do anything with this also. Hope you're happy Goose. Now let's get this train wreck moving. Also I'll provide translations for everything written in french somewhere near by where it's spoken by the characters unless it's explained in the text either by a character or otherwise stated. It's more or less the movie but Olsen doesn't die and gay people can get married, I'm to much of a sap to have Olsen die. This is me playing with dolls more or less <3. It's also very gay and homosexual with an oc of mine <3 die mad

No Man's Land was described as follow:
I mean obviously war and genocides are awful and since it's gritty and realistic it's no exception, but the movie more or less ends with two ennemy soldiers waving white flags compeltely naked so...
Sgt Stubby was described as follow:
A real story, about Sgt. Stubby the dog who participated in 17 battles in WWI and helped to save people from mustard gas attacks and find the wounded

17, 9, 30, uhhhhh schrolsen?
Band! AU - strangers to lovers - “need any help with that?”
heck yeah!! this was a bit rushed, sorry about that aah-- I haven’t written anything in a while. hope you likies
---
“Need any help with that?”
Hans Schroeder peered around the stack of boxes in front of his face, to see a short ginger, leaning against the wall. It was quite bizarre, the way the other had just seemingly appeared out of nowhere. A small smirk was spread across his face, and he wore a dark outfit, complete with a leather jacket and all. He looked smug for his height, and Hans slowed his step, keeping the heavy boxes in balance with his weight. Then he started to place them on the ground, grunting as he did so.
“That would be nice, yes,” he admitted, “Thank you.” He smiled at the other.
To his curiosity, the ginger’s eyes grew wide. “Whoa! Your accent! Where are ya from?” The short male walked over, and picked up half the load. He was very strong, for his height, but he did indeed have big arms. Hans could not help but admire this.
“Erm… Germany,” he said, rather quickly, and noted the other’s very familiar northern accent. He had noticed this accent quite a lot in New York City.
“Germany!” the ginger whistled. His smugness was gone almost immediately, it seemed, “And whatcha doing all the way in New York?”
“I moved here,” Hans said, simply.
“Yeah, but why?”
“To make some money. And… form a band.” He felt embarrassed when it came out of his mouth, and he quickly looked down, picking up the other boxes.
“Whack!” the ginger said, and he looked astonished. “Where should I take these?”
“Just out the door, please. Thank you.”
“A band. Wow. What do you play?” The two came out of the small apartment room with the door wide open, and into the hallway. They moved slowly towards the stairs, careful not to drop the boxes.
“Piano, ukulele… some guitar. And I sing, of course,” Hans said, shyly. They came to the staircase and made their way down, still just as slow as before.
“Wow… and what’s in these boxes? Where are you taking them?” the other asked.
“Supplies. My instruments. The one you’re holding is my keyboard.”
The ginger looked afraid for a moment, and he looked at the other with wide eyes, as if he was holding a fragile, expensive vase in his hands. Hans laughed.
“Don’t worry. It is cheap.” Hans shifted the boxes in his arms. “I’m taking them to a small studio I had invested in nearby.”
“Cool, cool,” the ginger hummed, and Hans couldn’t but feel a sense of satisfaction that he had impressed the other. He smiled some, and they came outside. The air was cold, and crisp, hinting at the upcoming winter, immediately biting his nose.
“Careful down the stoop, now,” the other male murmured, and Hans wondered what he had meant about “stoop”. But he was quick to make inferences, and noted the small couple stairs that led down to the pavement. He went slowly, and soon they were both setting down the boxes, letting out breaths of exhaustion yet accomplishment. They shared a smile.
“Thank you again!” Hans said.
“No worries! Say… uh… are you in need of a drummer? F-for your band, of course.” He shifted, and Hans noticed that his eyes were a kaleidoscope of browns and coppers, and that his face had flushed a light red.
“Well, yes. I am always in need of new members. Do you happen to know someone, Mr…. erm…”
“Olsen. Elmer Olsen. And I can be your drummer!” the ginger blurted out, and then his face flushed deeper. Hans didn’t think much of it at the time, “I mean… I play the drums… I’m not too shabby, either.”
“Oh! Of course!” Hans said, a little too excitedly. He was beaming. “Do you have a drum set?”
“W-well, duh!” he looked embarrassed, and Hans hoped he hadn’t caused that.
“Perfect! Perfect!” Hans laughed, and he reached out, grabbed the other’s arm, and rolled up his sleeve. Elmer’s eyes grew wide and he looked at the other, silently panicking it seemed. Hans didn’t think much of this, either, for the blonde continued. He took out a pen, and then wrote his name on the other’s arm. Hans Schroeder. In the neatest handwriting he could possibly muster.
“This is my name,” Hans explained, “Hans Schroeder.”
“You could’ve just told it to me instead of writing it on my arm,” Elmer laughed, but he admired the name written across his forearm with glittering eyes.
“Don’t worry! It isn’t permanent,” Hans assured as he capped the pen and pocketed it.
Elmer laughed again, and the German joined in, though he wasn’t exactly sure what was so funny. But the ginger’s laugh was so beautiful and so contagious, and he wanted to hear it forever.
“Well, I’ll catch ya around, Hans!” Elmer said, and he started up to the apartment again.
“Wait!” Hans blurted out when he reached the door, and the ginger turned expectantly. But the blonde wasn’t quite sure why he had stopped him. He wanted to talk to the other some more. And he found the other quite attractive, and all around amazing. Quite simply, he did not want to take his eyes off of the ginger. “Erm… do you want to help me take these to the studio? And then we can go out to eat somewhere?”
The silence in between was dreadful and awkward, but Elmer’s eyes softened almost immediately. “I thought you’d never ask,” he said, and there was a smile.
Hans blushed slightly, and smiled back. Little did he know that this encounter would change his life forever.
