Draco thought it was downright pathetic the way Gryffindors whinged and whined about Professor Snape being scary. Professor Snape had to follow a syllabus that was Dumbledore-approved. Professor Snape didn't get excited and go off on tangents about all the ways a plant could kill you or parasites could eat your brain, Professor Snape had to teach the same lessons year after year and was probably quite bored. Severus, who DID get excited and go off on tangents about all the ways plants could kill you or parasites could eat your brain, had terrified/trained Draco out of sticking random objects into his mouth at a very early age. He might be scary, but he was a very effective teacher.

Severus Snape as a parent headcanons

At first, he was terrified, worried, and panicking due to his past with his parents and was afraid he would hurt his own child like his dad did to him or neglect them like his mother (unintentionally).

As soon as he saw his child, he fell completely in love. He was still scared, but all he wanted to do in that moment was protect and love them until his last breathe

He made a vow that he would be better than his own father and try to give his child everything he never had.

He would prepare for every possible scenario (fevers, teething, diseases, baby proofing, medicine, etc)

He would expel any and every sign of alcohol (except if it's for disinfecting) from his home

He would buy the child bunches of toys since he never had any growing up.

He would've had an endless supply of diapers when the child was a baby (I do mean ENDLESS)

The people in Severus's life who know about his child are the Malfoys, Charity, and her wife Aurora (they are married) and Minerva McGonagall (who would tell Dumbledore so he knows as well)

The child would have black hair, black eyes, and pale skin like Severus. Their nose is normal than Severus's nose, which he is grateful for.

As soon as everyone saw the child, they immediately fell in love.

I think Severus would name Narcissa and Lucius as godparents (mostly because Narcissa kept pestering Severus about it and she would use the godfather card), and they spoil the child rotten along with Aurora and Charity

Minerva loves the child and helps Severus out when she can. She also becomes a grandmother figure and a mother figure to Severus and the child

Severus makes sure the child is not spoiled a lot by the Malfoys, so the child won't be a spoiled brat.

Severus is very overprotective and always keeps an eye on them. He constantly worries about them and is always vigilante of his surroundings, especially with his child

He educates them about both the wizarding world and the muggle world.

He cooks for them, he's a master chef.

He also teaches them potions

He teaches them about gardening and uses his magic to entertain them sometimes (he loves seeing his child smile)

He takes them to the park and they have fun.

He plays with them and sets up play dates with his child and Draco along with Aurora and Charity's child.

Minerva loves babysitting the child, and both she and severus make sure the child is ahead of their studies and not slacking

The child is either in Ravenclaw or Slytherin.

Severus always keeps the dark wizards away from his family with the Malfoys help of course.

When the child first did accidental magic, they made flowers grow from their hands and hair and made things levitate.

The child would be just as protective of their dad as Severus is of his child.

Draco and Severus's child are practically siblings

I feel like Regulus would be afraid of the child, but shortly after, fall in love with them (similar to Draco)

Narcissa treats Severus's child as her own along with Lucius.

Severus is strict, but he is reasonable with his child.

He also taught them how to dance along with Draco and Charity and Aurora's child.

He does not trust Bellatrix to be alone with his child

If he adopted Harry, his child and Harry would be siblings as well.

If Tobias was still alive at this time. Severus is keeping his child FAR AWAY FROM THAT MAN (HE HAS NO RIGHT TO COME ANYWHERE NEAR HIS CHILD)

Severus moved away from Cokeworth with Lucius, Narcissa, Charity, Aurora, and McGonagalls help, and he lives in a small flat with enough room for him and his child

I feel like he would have the child before the death eaters, but that's just me. I also feel like he would want to change his last name to his mother's maiden name or whoever the mother of the child's name is because of Tobias

What about you guys? Do you think he would've had a child before or after he became a death eater? What would happen if he saw Lily at the park or on the street with Harry? Would this be before or after Voldemort died? What happens if he sees one of the marauders with his child? Would he still be teaching at hogwarts?

i just have this thougth of draco visiting his godfather, like i imagine him always afraid to say something or act wrong and make people despite him more when visiting others graves, but with severus he will stand there in silent at first and then he would lash out, he will ask him -voice all petty and angry- why if he was so smart and powerfull didnt make a way to stay there, to enjoy his glory with the ligth side victory, to show off his intelligence and power, to stay there for his godson and narcissa.

Personally my one of my favorite Snape head cannons is that he is Draco’s god-father. I think I came across this head cannon mid-ish 2019, and I fell in love. I love fics that show their relationship and I like to think that when Draco was younger(before Baldy-Voldy resurfaced) he would say that his favourite parent was Sev. And if Severus ever overheard him say that, he would (on the inside ofc) be screaming of joy but tell Draco to stop his nonsense.

Yup, I like that one. And it makes sense. Severus is very close to the Malfoys, and he’s the one Narcissa trusts to protect Draco. And especially in the first couple movies, Draco keeps looking at Sev like he’s Superman.

(BTW, I know you severus fans have been secretly waiting. So here you go, and you're welcome)

First off, it took a long while for Severus to propose. And when I say long, I mean a Looooooooooong time

When he finally did propose, being ecstatic would be an understatement. You would be over the moon and say yes immediately before Severus's insecurities got the best of him.

How your relationship began is a typical story. You both met at Hogwarts and gotten close to the point of being friends (You decide on how, whether It's through Charity and Aurora, or a class project)

Severus does not understand what you would see in him, and he never says it out loud

He needs constant reassurance. He won't say it, but he needs it

Severus is secretly touch starved (YOU CAN'T TELL ME OTHERWISE!)

He wants to be near you all the time. Whereever you are is where he wants to be, and he will want to stay close to your side

He loves cuddles, especially cuddling with you

When he's buried in his work, it will be up to partner to keep him functioning properly. This means getting him to eat 3 to 4 times a day and getting at least 8 hours of sleep plus a nap or two

He will hide his past from you for a long time in the relationship, but eventually, he will open up to you

Will change his name from Snape to either Prince or your last name

I believe his patronus will change to something else

He will do everything he can to protect and shield you from the death eaters

If you both see any marauders or Lily, it ends with Severus and his partner walking away while the said partner glares daggers or an altercation with the partner defending Severus and definitely hexing them into next year

He would consider his partner to be the light of his life and his everything

If Tobias was still alive and both Severus and partner saw him, the partner (including myself) would cuss this man out, shout at him, and definitely fight him (Severus would hold us back)

The idea of kids is frightening to Severus. If the subject was ever brought up, he would probably shut down and avoid the subject

But eventually, he will come around, especially with his partner by his side to be there raising their child with him

He will be obsessed with you.

He will want to know what you're doing, where you're going, and what is going on with your feelings and thoughts (not because he doesn't trust you but because of his past)

He doesn't believe he will be a good father to his own children, but his partner will be there to confort him

The bad intrusive thoughts and insecurities never leave, which will show itself. So his partner will have to try to chase them away

He will definitely introduce you to Narcissa and Lucius, along with Charity and Aurora

Lucius will definitely be doing a background check on you along with plenty of research. Charity and Narcissa will be the overprotective big sisters who think no one is worthy of Severus, and Aurora will be observing things closely

Severus does not like gifts a lot, but you, along with the people he trusts more than anything, will be the exception.

He will cook, bake, clean, and garden for you

He tries to prove himself as a worthy husband to you despite you telling him he doesn't have to

His love is very strong for you (SO CHERISH IT!!!!!)

He will be busy a lot with his potions and such, but he tries to give you equal attention

Prefers the sound of your heartbeat and your touch

Is very private but will often confide in you

Wants to keep you all to himself

He gets jealous but quickly becomes insecure

Baby Draco will even be cautious of you and throw a fit or two, but eventually warms up to you

The wedding between you and Severus will be small with only both of you and Severus's most trusted friends and family

Narcissa and Lucius paid for the wedding

Charity and Narcissa decorated the wedding and planned literally everything!!

We'd be cautious of Dumbledore (for obvious reasons) and wouldn't send him an invitation, but he probably found a way to come

It took a lot of convincing, but the malfoys and Charity and Aurora loved you and told Severus constantly to not mess it up

He cooks and bakes for us. YOU CAN'T TELL ME OTHERWISE!!!!!

My love for Draco because he wants to be like his godfather, Severus, because he is the only decent adult role model in his life is immense. I love Draco so much in this fic. I just love when Severus is Draco's godfather.
