[PREVIEW] Static-X + Sevendust @ Vogue Theatre
Tumblr media
It’s hard to imagine anywhere louder than the Vogue Theatre this Sunday – that’s because industrial metal legends Static-X and alt metal stalwarts Sevendust are taking over for the night and shaking it to the ground.
The nu metal double bill is making its way up the west coast, with this leg of the Machine Killer tour kicking off at Sick New World in Las Vegas. The tour is something of a reunion between Static-X, Sevendust and New York City metallers Dope, who toured together in 1999 and are still going strong a quarter of a century later.
The tour is a celebration of the old with the new, named after Static-X’s 2001 gold-certified Machine and Sevendust’s 14th studio album, 2023’s Truth Killer. If recent setlists are any indication, Vancouver is in for one hell of a show, with some blasts from the past interspersed with new tunes that are just as heavy as the classics.
Static-X’s set features a Wisconsin Death nostalgia trip – “Love Dump,” “Bled for Days,” “I’m With Stupid,” and of course “Push It” – contrasted by songs like “Hollow” and “Z0mbie” off of Project: Regeneration Vol. 1 & 2, respectively, plus some fan favourites like “Black and White,” “This Is Not” and “Cold” that will surely have the energy up in the Vogue.
Likewise, Sevendust is pulling out some of their old hits like “Black” and “Bitch” from their eponymous debut album, “Enemy” and “Face to Face” from 2004’s Seasons, and other killer selections from their 30-year back catalog.
Sunday’s show also marks Static-X’s first Vancouver concert in five years and Sevendust’s first in six, making this a long-awaited return for both bands. Sevendust features the same lineup they’ve had for much of the late ’90s and 2000s, while Static-X includes founding members Koichi Fukuda (lead guitar, keyboards), Tony Campos (bass, backing vocals) and Ken Jay (drums) with lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist Xer0, who joined in 2018 following the untimely passing of original vocalist Wayne Static.
In addition to Static-X, Sevendust and Dope, Wisconsin metal trio Lines of Loyalty is joining them on tour, opening what is sure to be an outstanding show.
The return of these two nu metal powerhouses on one stage makes this a can’t-miss concert for anyone who likes it loud. Bring earplugs, this will be a good one.
Event Information
Static-X + Sevendust with Dope and Lines of Loyalty
Sunday, May 5, Vogue Theatre
Doors at 5:30 p.m., Show at 6:15 p.m.

I'm asking about the plastic tupperware 👀👀
CW: anxiety
SO I'll try to keep this short but there's so much I wanna talk about skdhdsh
Me, my mum and my sibling were lucky enough to get VIP to Blind Channel in the UK last week. We've actually met them before as we got into them at the start of 2018, around the time when Alone Against All came out, because I remember my mum showing it to us and being like, isn't this band good! isn't he cute! About Niko and at the time we were just like. Mum it's just a dude in a hat.
But now he's our dude in a hat and we love Blind Channel!
So ye we met them in late 2018 when they supported All That Remains and Sevendust, it was mad because they literally just stood at the merch stand of a really small venue, there was barely anyone interested in talking to them so we got sooo lucky. Joel came out to the merch stand late, his hair wet presumably after a shower, and my nan (for some reason we brought out nan to the gig, we love her tho) was like "Have you been sleeping?" and he just looked so confused, and was like, "No... I had a shower..."
That isn't really relevant to the story but it's kind of a family inside joke sjfhsh
So ofc, we were so excited when they got awards in Finland, we waited on the results of UMK and watched Eurovision despite it not being our normal family tradition, because we loved Blind Channel and could not BELIEVE that the guys my mum befriended on Instagram back in 2018 were doing all of this. I also didn't notice until I watched Dark Side come out that Aleksi was in the band skfhssh I'm so unobservant I thought they were just mates (my mum hasn't talked to Niko on Insta in ages btw so I'm not gonna claim to actually know the members loll but put it this way, at the time I spoke more to Niko through my mum than I did to my uncles)
So that brings me to most recently where we got VIP tickets, including meet and greet, to the Birmingham show on their European tour. And I was wondering what the hell to give them as a gift.
(dw this is relevant) I met a cute Scottish band called Single By Sunday a while back and gave them origami cranes matching their hair colours (idk if the band is still together but they're really cool dudes!) and the crane thing was kinda personal to me because they were one of my first healthy coping mechanisms, where I would make those to calm down back in primary school. And they're also meant to bring good luck, I don't really believe in luck but it's a nice sentiment.
So I spent an hour every day for the past week or so customising and folding these delicate little things:
Tumblr media
They have the logo in the middle, and they say blind channel one way and their names the other way.
And now we get the story of the tupperware:
Tumblr media
Ofc they're delicate little things and I wanted to protect them so my brother suggested put them in a container. I tried to find the container that was the least pasta sauce-stained.
So, it's Saturday afternoon, we got up super early to get the coach to Birmingham, we walked around grand central and bought a big plush pig from a plush shop and called him Porko. More on him later skfhs he's his own story tbh
So we got into our outfits at the hotel and headed to the venue, and we got let in for VIP by none other than... Santeri, the tour manager (I think) who I actually had no idea who he was up until the previous Wednesday, I'd just seen his face in videos a few times before then, but my mum pointed him out to me at the Manchester gig.
So, Saturday. I was shaking so bad when the band came in skdhdhs I haven't shaken that bad in a while lmao. Felt so funny holding a little tub while I was shaking like a madman.
Santeri was funny that day anyway, pretty sure he asked us to please be orderly because he was hungover, lmao
My sibling gave Joonas the pig plush, if you saw the video on their story recently of Olli and Joonas throwing a big plush against a wall backstage, that's the pig we gave them skdhdsh
So then it was my turn. I think I was last in the line to get a picture, not that I would have noticed, I felt like I had tunnel vision I was so nervous skdhss. So I tried to do the whole thing I'd practiced, it was so awkward because I was holding like so many things, with the tub and the lid and trying to get my phone on the camera app to hand to Santeri (he was taking all the pictures on our phones), and trying to hand out the cranes at the same time.
So ye I went down the line handing them out, until I got to Joel, and only him and Olli were left, and there was one crane left in the box, which was Olli's
Considering the vivid memory I have of that feeling of panic, I'm surprised I didn't cry on the spot lmao.
I just stared at Joel and the box for like TEN SECONDS STRAIGHT skfhshdb I had no idea what to do, I was trying to think out a way to explain something that I had no idea how it happened, only to have Santeri come over and hand a crane to Joel.
Took me like another 10 seconds to process what the hell happened, I was so confused until after jsjjfsh
So after that I got to Olli fine, gave him his crane and told him I still play bass after he told me last time that us bassists have to stick together :} I love him sm fr sjfhsh
So ye and I was dying so much after the whole cranes connundrum that I almost had my picture taken holding tupperware, luckily my sibling snatched it out my hands before Santeri took the pictures dkfhsh
Also, Santeri is rlly nice like, they were on overtime and he let me get Aleksi to sign the back of my jacket since he wasn't in the band last time I met them
But that doesn't mean he didn't give me a heart attack and a half lmao, my mum explained to me that while I was having my 'tunnel vision' moment, Santeri had taken Joel's crane from the tub (I'm still amazed at how I literally didn't see that happen) to look at it because he was curious
And then while they were packing up after the VIP, Santeri had his hands full of all the gifts (he held Porko the pig at arms length away for some reason djdkdsj which we found hilarious), was struggling to hold all these delicate little cranes, so we offered him the tub, and he was like "are you sure? Are you sure you really don't need it?" And we were like, ye take it!! We don't mind
So ye, that's the long-winded story of how giving blind channel origami cranes was both a nightmare and a dream come true, and how we gave Santeri the tupperware that was almost in my picture with Blind Channel
This probably isn't as wild to others as it is to me because it was literally 2 days ago and I'm still so excited sjdhsdh and Santeri is an icon and a meme for us now skdhsb

Paparoach Biografi
Tumblr media
Papa Roach Dibentuk Pada Tahun 1993
Pada tahun 2004, Papa Roach merilis upaya studio keempat mereka, Getting Away with Murder.
The Best of Papa Roach: To Be Loved . Pada 2012, Papa Roach mengirimkan album punk terbaik studio ketujuh mereka, The Connection.
Dua single, Who Do You Trust? [sic] dan "Renegade Music, dikeluarkan pada Oktober 2018 menjelang rilis studio LP baru, juga berjudul Who Do You Trust ?, yang tiba pada Januari 2019.

Sunday, September 23rd, 2018 – Sevendust Prevails Despite a Dim Situation, Exhilarating their Dallas Fan Base
Tumblr media
Photos by Jordan Buford Photography One doesn’t typically think of Sevendust as being a support band. They’re certainly more than capable of it, but over the past couple of decades (and then some), the relentless touring that the group that originated from Atlanta has done has earned them a spot at the forefront of the metal/hard rock realm. Their fan base is rabid, easily one of the most dedicated legions of supporters of any band out there, with more converts continuously added to it, constantly allowing Sevendust to rock more spacious venues than before. Because of that, that’s why it was a bit interesting to see Sevendust joining Clutch on the Book of Bad Decisions Tour, not as a co-headline run – as it easily could have been – but as the main support act. At the same time, it made sense. Both bands are as loud and intense as they come (and apparently, the members of Clutch happened upon Sevendust when both bands where still in the early days of their respective careers, making this a reunion of sorts), making for a topnotch, quality pairing. Also, given how supportive fans of both acts are, it seemed mutually beneficial to team up, allowing Sevendust a chance to win over some Clutch fans that might not be too familiar with their music and vice versa. That said, Gas Monkey Live was packed to the gills, fans of both acts from Dallas and elsewhere in North Texas turning out in full force to catch the spectacular show that was sure to unfold; and 7D’s supporters were ready for a taste of new music from the recently released All I See is War (out via Rise Records) along with whatever else was planned. The fanfare was deafening as Morgan Rose stepped out into view, the drummer taking his spot with his other band mates not far behind.
Tumblr media
The shadows concealed them, the booming voice of Lajon Witherspoon seeming to come out of nowhere as the frontman suddenly asked, “Do you know who are?!” He repeated it a couple more times, pumping up the audience. “Dirty” kicked it all off, the lead cut from the months old record perfectly representing everything that Sevendust is. A behemoth of a track, it was utterly commanding and demanded everyone listen. The seismic track was even a fan favorite, quite a few patrons singing along with the refrain, “…I know it's hard for you to believe I'm gonna die whole…”. The quintet had a mere 41-minutes to work with, which, albeit short, was at least conducive of the most high-energy set that they could muster as they opted for as many hits as possible so that their supporters would feel appeased. “Denial” was one such offering, Clint Lowery and Vince Hornsby, the lead guitarist and bassist, respectively, doing everything they could to further energize everyone. Lowery especially was frequently seen mouthing along to the words, almost encouraging the audience members to shout along with them, gesturing with his hands as if to signal they wanted more from them; and he even throw out a decent number of picks as well.
Tumblr media
They absolutely threw down on that one, an overwhelming intensity radiating from the stage, hitting their stride as they prepared to further up the expectations. It was almost as if they wanted to squeeze all the energy associated with their headline performances into this shorter set, and thus far they were well on track to accomplish that. The musicians didn’t have much time to build a rapport with the spectators through dialogue, though Witherspoon did get a chance to speak once that song was finished. He somewhat reflected on their lengthy career, estimating that they had been on thousands of “decks” in their time, though gracing this particular one was a first for them. He thanked Gas Monkey Live for having them there, even recalling some other spots they had played on previous trips to Dallas before asking everyone if they wanted to hear something new. The audience was game. “Unforgiven” was the only other number they worked in from All I See is War, but what a choice. It just reaffirmed that the five of them are master craftsmen when it comes to writing pulse-pounding, anthemic songs. As intense as it was, the rhythm section easily taking charge, it was still infectious, demanding the listener just give themselves over to the music. To be blunt, they killed it, that number capturing everything that Sevendust is about, just loud and heavy metal/alt-rock that was perfect to bang your head along to.
Tumblr media
“Can you feel the energy right now?!” Witherspoon questioned afterwards before practically demanding to see everyone’s hands, even those way in the back. They were only halfway in and they were epitomizing what a support band is supposed to be by pumping everyone up and working them into a frenzied state. Shortly after they ventured back to some of their earliest albums, pulling out several staples that longtime fans have come to expect. Despite the limitations imposed on them by the clock they still managed to squeeze in most of the major highlights alongside the obligatory new material; “Bitch” being primed as a sing along, and at the behest of the frontman plenty of people aided Sevendust by chiming in. Preceding their closing number was a chanting of the band’s name, steadily growing stronger as more joined in. It was an overwhelming display of adoration, a respect relatively few bands are ever afforded and just spoke to what high regard most of those in attendance hold Sevendust. Their fans are a breed all their own and that is meant in the best possible way. Hell, most music fans could stand to take some pointers from how they do it.
Tumblr media
“Thank You” acted as their parting number, the song being open to interpretation to an extent and live it plays out like a gracious compliment to their supporters as much as anything. Arguably their most polished song of the night – boasting a more prominent hard rock style with only a slight metal edge – there’s still some grit to it and it packed a punch. Seeming like a slightly odd choice at first, “Thank You” has since more than earned its spot as the show closer, even allowing for some optimism as they left everyone hungry for more. Even by Sevendust’s standards the performance aspect of this show was topnotch, Hornsby, Connolly, Lowery, Rose and Witherspoon packing in all of the vigor of a headline gig and then some into those 41-minutes. However, the show did falter in an area that was out of their control: the lighting department. If you’ve seen Sevendust even just once before than you know they have a fondness for darker lighting. That may be somewhat of a cliché when it comes to metal and hard rock bands, but that’s instrumental in the way that these guys present themselves and it works incredibly well. It’s moody and enigmatic, pairing well with the music; and while I’ve seen them a few times in the past, I’ve never been given reason to say this before, however, the lighting was downright terrible this night.
Tumblr media
It wasn’t just used minimally or sparingly, but rather almost nonexistent. For much of their time on stage patrons were left wondering what they were watching, having to strain in order to see the soft outlines of the figures moving around on stage. Rare flashes would illuminate the musicians, though those were fleeting and offered momentary glimpses at best. I overheard plenty of people complaining about it afterwards. That included some spectators who were new to Sevendust and essentially wrote them off because of that. That was disheartening to hear because they are a superb live band that is armed with a barrage of dynamic songs that are capable of resonating with the listener, but some of those people sounded adamant that their minds had been made up, shutting the door on the possibility of ever giving Sevendust another shot. As I said, I don’t hold that against the band, but it did drastically affect the show overall, even avid fans being left making casual remarks like, “I wish I could have seen what they were doing. They did sound great, though.” And they did. The sound was outstanding, and even if you could seldom see it you could feel their might. The way the five of them handle and finesse an audience is a spectacle, the energy and aggression they put into their performance being palpable. It was sure was this night, even if other factors were working against it. For those who did see Sevendust this night and came out feeling indifferent at best, I encourage you to give them another chance, be it the next time they come to town or even by listening to some of their records. This Gas Monkey Live gig wasn’t a fair representation of what they’re capable of, these road warriors having been molded into one of the greatest live bands out there. Their tour continues for a while longer, and rest assured more dates will be coming as 2019 approaches. A full list of their touring schedule can be found HERE; and check out their records on iTUNES or GOOGLE PLAY. Set List: 1) “Dirty” 2) “Face to Face” 3) “Denial” 4) “Unforgiven” 5) “Waffle” 6) “Too Close to Hate” 7) “Bitch” 8) “Thank You”

So save us Just so we know That the bitter taste, we need it And we forgive ourselves and leave it all In the space that's between right and wrong The better days deceived us And we let ourselves believe it all And God just bites his tongue!

Why Culture, Not Race, Determines Tastes In Music
Many musicians choose to release their songs underneath Creative Commons licenses , which provde the legal right to do issues like use their music in your videos. There are a lot of genres in music just as there are various genres in movie. In film these could be motion, horror, science fiction, noir, romantic comedy, mystery, and so on. In music we find symphonies, concertos, songs, suites, operas, and many more. Some genres are designed for large ensembles like orchestras and choruses, whereas others are for chamber ensembles (small teams) or soloists (individual players). Though there are numerous genres, some play a larger position in western music than others. The lessons on vocal and audio-transcoder.com instrumental genres focus on the most typical and influential genres in western music. First publicity: Rock radio stations have missed out on a ton of onerous rock performers within the 2010's. I'll name some names. Sasquatch, All Them Witches, Mos Generator, Elder, Duel, Gary Clark Jr, Torche. Now fashionability: Listed here are some bands with both feminine or non white singers that have gotten some airplay: Wolf Alice, Dorothy, Sevendust, Halestrom. Loud distorted electric guitars aren't modern right now. The younger Millennials and older Gen Z youngsters like elevator music like Glass Animals compared to the Alt Rock from the ninety's and 2000's.

Many Western musicians studied Indian music and instruments extensively; notably, George Harrison took sitar lessons and collaborated with Indian sitarist Ravi Shankar. Ravi Shankar additionally performed at Woodstock, and at a number of other prestigious venues within the West. Indian music simply lends itself to fusion with other artwork kinds, and particularly in the late twentieth century and twenty first century collaborations between Indian and Western musicians grew to become increasingly common. Many Indian classical musicians, corresponding to Zakir Hussain, Taufiq Qureshi, L. Subramaniam have frequently collaborated with Western artists. Lari White , Daryle Singletary and Confederate Railroad founding member Doug Secrest are among the many country musicians who have died in 2018. White died after battling cancer , and Secret additionally struggled with a long illness before his death, whereas Singletary's death on the age of forty six shocked Nashville's music neighborhood. Pink Filth nation artist Brandon Jenkins was additionally tragically younger when he died in March after experiencing problems following coronary heart surgery he underwent in February. He was simply 48 years old. Trance music is thought by its skill to attract in listeners and allow them to get misplaced" within the music. By entering into a state of trance, you might be transported from this world to a different with fairly musical melodies accompanied by jaw dropping visuals made even higher by some sweet goggles Trance music used to incorporate less vocals in order that the main focus could be on the instrumental construct ups, but increasingly artists are incorporating pop tune vocals to remain relevant. You possibly can often find the primary stage of your favourite festival blasting pleased trance music for followers to rise with the beat and fall in the chorus. My favourite style in music is nation music, as a result of the singers specific their emotions. Country music is completely different because the entire singer's relate to their youngster hood. They also relate to their family members. Additionally they relate to Iraq and how relations react once they've been instructed that their love ones aren't coming again residence. They categorical their love life's and make you concentrate on falling in love" at such a younger age. They make you notice that life could be too quick so why waste it on being tied down to only one person. Unlike works-for-playback in the artwork music tradition, widespread music tracks function songs or instrumental compositions that can also be performed dwell. Returning to the 1968 hit recording of Respect," Wexler's track affords entry to Redding's song. Simply as there are a number of performances of Respect," there are multiple recordings of it. Where each performance of Respect" is a definite instantiation of the tune, something else must be said about Wexler's track, which itself has distinct instantiations in its varied playbacks. Listening to recorded music, the popular audience attends to both an ontologically thick work-for-playback and an ontologically skinny music. A monitor's production type might be distinguished from the tune's musical style. Thus there is a manner during which fashionable music tracks are extra advanced than is electronic artwork music Digital music presents no parallel distinction between observe and composition.
What number of occasions has someone picked up a guitar and carried out a dodgy rendition of Wonderwall at a party? Or how many instances has somebody murdered a rendition of Do not Look Again In Anger at karaoke? Oasis's songs themselves are some of the most accessible and instantaneous British songs ever written and that's before you even take into account the charisma of the band that carried out them: The Gallagher brothers have been at warfare most of the time throughout Oasis's profession, but out of that stress came the most iconic songs of the Nineteen Nineties and some of the most culturally significant British music ever made. The recognition of nu-steel dramatically deteriorated when music started getting higher in the early 00s. Let's face it: guitar music was fairly shoddy on the turn of the century until The Strokes got here along and washed all of it away. As a substitute, nu-metal became insanely well-liked - stomach this, Linkin Park's ‘Hybrid Principle' is the quickest selling debut of the twenty first century - however only because guitar music was in the doldrums. Now, like cockroaches crawling out of a log after a protracted winter, these bands are rearing their baseball-cap-clad heads, clawing for a revival.

American conventional music can also be known as roots music. Roots music is a broad category of music together with bluegrass , country music , gospel , outdated time music , jug bands , Appalachian folk , blues , Cajun and Native American music The music is taken into account American both as a result of it is native to the United States or as a result of it developed there, out of foreign origins, to such a degree that it struck musicologists as something distinctly new. It is considered "roots music" as a result of it served as the premise of music later developed within the United States, together with rock and roll , modern folks music, rhythm and blues , and jazz Some of these genres are thought of to be conventional people music.

CANE HILL DROP "ACID RAIN" VIDEO — WATCH
BAND TO RELEASE KILL THE SUN ON JANUARY 18, 2019 VIA RISE RECORDS
BAND TOURING WITH SEVENDUST THIS WINTER
New Orleans four-piece Cane Hill will release a brand new record titled Kill the Sun via Rise Records on January 18, 2019. The band has just shared the new video for the trippy track "Acid Rain." Watch it here. Cane Hill previously shared the video for the title track, which is a brilliant and unexpected artistic left turn. Watch it here.
"We spent the summer working on new Cane Hill music," the band said. "We've embraced the weirder and mellower side of what we do, as it's something we think is important to our band. With that in mind, we've been in the studio with the incredibly talented Kris Crummett, working on music that embellishes those elements. It's six songs of dark, twisted, and semi-acoustic beauty. We're incredibly proud of it and can't wait for you to hear it."
The band continued, “We wanted to embrace some leftover emotions we've been dealing with since getting our shit together while exploring our own musical limitations. We made this semi-acoustic record because we needed to for ourselves — and because honestly, why the fuck not?"
Cane Hill will hit the road again this winter supporting Sevendust. All confirmed Cane Hill dates are below.
