You know,, at first i didn't realize because the leaks are low quality and i couldnt really understand what happened with kurugiri and where bkg showed up from.. but after you pointed it out and the more i think about it, the more im mad how izuku and bakugo just fucking killed kurugiri. Like, what the fuck was that???? Even if one tries to defend it as 'oh he's on the villains side and maybe they though he was going to warp shigafo somewhere or protect him' it's still mind-boggling how izuku didn't hesitate at all. Like you said, that was one of the few characters that wanted to protect and save tomura, who was pleading for afo to give him back and they just........ignore that and punch him as well. No surprised look, no hesitation, no thinking on what to do. Then add izukus lack of reaction to tomura decaying and i question who is that, bc sure as fuck isn't the "i want to save that crying little boy" hero deku. Doing that in front of aizawa and yamada as well is so foul damn. I haven't been this disappointed in izuku since 327 (my beloathed) and his overall response in that "reunion" with toshinori.
It's implied Kurogiri was already dying (which is, it's own can of worms,, because there's really no way to spin that particular writing decision in a way that makes Hori look good considering how it was never once foreshadowed that Giri overusing his quirk would kill him). But yeah, Giri's treatment is definitely one of the most upsetting aspects of this chapter-- Izuku and Bkgo may not have killed him per se, but they also didn't hesitate to run him through just to finish off AFO. Izuku exhibits zero reaction to Giri begging for Tomura's life and makes no attempts to even speak with him. Like, Giri is honestly the only character in this chapter who actually felt heroic in what was supposed to be the grand finale of Izuku's journey to become one of the greatest heroes. It's an absolutely massive writing fumble.
Like, if we're looking at the arc as a whole, the intended read is like.... Tenko tells Izuku that he's a villain who is fighting to be a hero to the villains, and the unspoken implication is that Izuku immediately gives up on saving him because "Tenko can't be stopped/changed and made his choice to keep fighting for evil"-- even though we literally get a reveal in the very next chapter that he was manipulated into this position and forcibly given the power that helped shaped his entire life/worldview. Izuku does not react once to this reveal despite the manga making it clear that he is also seeing AFO's memories. Tenko isn't allowed to properly process this reveal and the implications behind it + how it skewed his perception of himself. The heroes arrive and yap about how "tragedy is bad and shouldn't happen :(" while making no attempt to actually engage with the fact that AFO is openly grieving, and then they proceed to annihilate the body of the biggest victim in the series without any hesitation (while also running through the crumbling body of another victim who is the only one on the battlefield that's attempting to save the first victim's life).
Like. Am I misunderstanding anything or.

Isn't it fucked up how Mizuki, An and Rui are all characters in their unit that have had long running narratives that always build up in the background. Until it blows up in the character's faces and they're forced to confront it.
An with her feelings towards Kohane and Nagi
Mizuki with her secret
And Rui with Asahi (and also potential disbandement problems happening again ? Idk where colorpalet is taking WxS so idk)
It's also always about their abandonnement issues
We got An4 and Mizuki5, absolute murderer events where all of the build up just blows up and EVERYONE is in pain.
So uhm...thoughts and prayers towards Rui in case anything happens to him, I'm just gonna say that
How can you be so right. This is criminal/pos
Me and my buddies, we use the narrative to hide our issues regardless of the outcome. Damn
I actually think An5 is a better example of this. An5 is just An going "auhh but I'm so lame,, augh,,,," and then fighting it out by using all the pent up emotions she stored for. Pretty much all her events. That and WL An too.
Also down with the purple bastard I hope he burns. Ruibloom was FAR to merciful on him I think... It's time to make him pay.

i just find it odd how much people think "kairi is going to train with aqua" is them 'writing her character off'. Like, you know if that was the goal they could've just gone 'after being killed in the war, kairi doesn't want to be a wielder anymore and decides to wait on DI' if that was their actual goal. like making a big deal out of this story development, having Kairi make a big Character Want Speech directly to camera while Dearly Beloved plays, getting her involved with characters outside her circle + era, etc are all things that actually require much more effort and follow-through and suggest an actual desire to see this character grow and have an arc, not the opposite lol.

RTD is so in love with David Tennant that it makes him look stupid, huh.
#listen friends i dont know what to feel#i love everyone involved#I'm so happy that Donna has her memories back and will spend the rest of her life with her best friend by her side#but that ending felt like it was straight out of a christmas Hallmark movie; my teeth ache from all that saccharine sweetness#I'll be able to justify it if RTD is setting the stage for bringing Tennant and Tate into his UNIT spin-off which seems to be in the works#if that's not the reason it's hard for me to swallow this plot twist with the biregeneration#firstly: RTD did something similar at the end of the fourth season—splitting the Doctor to “give” one version to Rose#it's a bit annoying to see him essentially do the same now by letting another version of the Doctor to stay with Donna#secondly: I missed the emotion in this#I spent a week bracing myself for heartbreak but we went a bit too far in the other direction#we got a cutesy ending where everything resolves through a deus ex machina#yet it’s those bitter and grief-soaked moments are what RTD has always excelled at#when it comes to the Doctor's regeneration and farewells to companions#it's hard to feel much about this plot development#some things should remain final and some goodbyes and endings are unavoidable#the conclusion of Rose’s arc (both from s2 and s4) or Donna's ending in s4#were among the most emotionally intense moments in the history of television#I missed a bit of that here#perhaps if there were more bitterness in the 14th Doctor's ending if he had to pay some PRICE for this biregeneration#(like not getting his TARDIS#being told that the Fifteenth takes over the regeneration ability#and the Tennant Doctor will die of old age)#emotionally it would have provided viewers with a cool punch#without that it seems like RTD wanted to have his cake and eat it too#have a new Doctor and give his old characters a last-minute happy ending that doesn't make much logical sense#I was hoping to feel more considering how much I love these characters#but my main reaction is an eyeroll#on the positive side I really hope to see Neil Patrick Harris in the show again he was a great villain#and Ncuti Gatwa’s Doctor is already so freaking great!!! <3#doctor who

Meet my addition to the not-so-tiny town of Hatchetfield, Arianna! She’s the daughter of the head of the CCRP office, a competitor in the Rollerama fighting ring and a university student who’s working on herself while dealing with familial trauma and being much more enmeshed in the lore than she’d like. I drew inspiration from Greek mythology, namely fusing the unlikely couple of Dionysus and Princess Ariadne.

every time there’s an mnet survival show everyone collectively loses their minds and forgets how the network assigns songs to the contestants that absolutely aren’t suited for their various skill levels in addition to not giving ample time for the groups to practice 😭

while i'm talking out my ass: there are definitely parallels between constantine and the shadow dog from the beast of eden arc. existing as guardian between humanity and the supernatural horrors chomping at the bit to consume it, but going down in legend as the contributor or cause of every horrific, near-world-ending event that he was actually trying to prevent because everyone heard he was there when it happened. resurrected from failure by the belief that people have in him as their protector, and simultaneously, because they give him no choice.
which could also have been a contributing factor to how willing he was to accept its blame and destroy it.

When she had arrived to the Ruan estate, Seraphine had not been sure what to expect as she had so rarely visited her Ionian family, remembering little of them.
But now, she had been here for two weeks, and her Ionian had been improving well, as had her magic. It felt...quite freeing now, to be able to us her magic so freely, something hard to do in the tight cities of Piltover and Zaun. She felt her footsteps falter as she walked the market and crashed against someone, quickly trying to steady her footing. “I-ah, so sorry about that!”
