four stories about the garden by sergey makhno architects
"give the lanes your quiet steps
listen to the dews tickling your feet somewhere among the twigs, there is peace there is beauty somewhere amid the trees"
Tumblr media Tumblr media
the first story, about spring
first, there was a house. serhii makhno created it for his family and called it shkrub. the style of the house is woven from memories of japan and dreams of a real ukrainian house — spacious and bright, filled with ceramics and memory, wrapped in love. shkrub was built in the contemporary ukrainian style and became the embodiment of everything native and traditional.

....... and then, there was a garden.
serhii wanted to have his own cherry orchard near the house to talk to the trees, listen to the bees buzzing and remember his childhood.
thus, japanese maples and cherry trees met traditional ukrainian zoomorphic pottery and contemporary art. the land generously accepted 250 tons of stones arranged traditionally as in japanese gardens — where it is believed that the stone itself must choose where to lie. so the wasteland disappeared and the birds chirped. this is the beginning.

Artists: Sergey Makhno Architects and Alexander Kovpak Title: Ukrainian Contemporary Apartment “Not to say a lot, we show — a project where, wherever you cast your glance, everywhere is that very “Ukrainian modern style” Ukrainian Contemporary Apartment is about the philosophy of the Ukrainian workshop - to honor nature, to remember history, love art and be brave enough. It is about what this new vector of modern design movement is...” Very cool...

.
Polotno (Ukr. полотно) means canvas. Clean. Innocent. Ready for the artist’s imagination to appear on a white background. In our case, we are the ones who created this canvas, and the owners of the apartment are the ones who are going to complete it.
Polotno Apartment is the Ukrainian contemporary style in its minimalism. Here we have found the beauty in the geometry of the space.
“Space is an endless concept. No doors are needed. No entrances are to be noticed. All you need is to feel that you own the infinity. With the help of numerous reflections and simple geometrical solutions, we created an integral apartment for a whole family” — says Ihor Tykhui, the main architects of the project.

10 trends in design and architecture by sergey makhno architects
this year we all understood one thing — life will never be the same as before. from houses to public space too. here are our thoughts on what trends 2021 will bring for design and architecture. trend 1: house will be autonomous with its garden and officegardens on the balconies, smart flower pots, autonomous home farms, underground plantations — greenery become an indispensable part of every home. of course, you need extra equipment here: artificial phytoactive lighting, water, and air filtration scheme, soil fertilizer, but it is worth some fresh tomatoes. the cabinet will now be a must-have for every member of the family. if we already have to work from home, then in a separate room, not at the dining table. trend 2: accumulation and availability of technologiesleave all routine for machines — spend your time on important things. if now not everyone can buy the smart home system, modern technology will become more affordable and will help us with most of the household chores. trend 3: change in the form of housing ownership (classic rent, shared housing, temporary exchange of housing, community housing)now it may sound quite unusual, but sharing a home is convenient and quite profitable. you can buy a house for two families and live in it in turn. or buy land for several families and build your own mini-town. land and real estate sharing is our future. https://bit.ly/2ND6zLx
