Ummm who is this wearing a crop top 6 weeks postpartum and feeling totally comfortable doing it? I’ve never worn a crop top in my life but I like it. I feel like a badass mama owning my curves and little stretch marks peeking out.

I planted some little mums out front. We (me, MIL & the boys) spent this morning walking around town enjoying a Septemberfest event with live music. It was nice. Holden loves music so much. He screams and dances and is just filled with pure joy hearing music being played so loudly. It’s lovely. We got some fresh fruit from a local farm market. All in all, not bad, though I keep feeling in the back of my mind that I’d rather be spending these fall days with my husband too. Having a tough time this week with B being away so much.

Last night after having Holden fight a nap and be an absolute asshole all afternoon, I finally got Derrick down and all I wanted was to get a hot shower and go to bed. I cracked the back door to make sure it was closed properly before locking it and the literal second the door cracked open, one of those Asian giant hornets flew into the kitchen. Do you guys know of them?! They’re fucking prehistoric looking, loud as all hell, and enormous. And absolutely not invited inside my house. After an embarrassing amount of tears (evidently that was the LAST straw for me), I managed to spray the shit out of it with bleach spray and smash it with a frying pan. A frying pan. Sucker was easily 3” long with a 3” wing span. Not okay. So as long as THAT doesn’t happen again, today will no doubt be a better day than yesterday was.

Holden is going down for a nap now and I plan to veg out on the couch with Derrick, a turkey sandwich, and some cold case files on Netflix. ✌🏻
