Silt verses reference sheets, part two!! This time for Faulkner
My Carpenter reference sheet is here, and some further notes on these are under the cut!
First Image: Whenever i draw season 1 faulkner it does NOT look like him, and i blame his fuckass haircut. my guy did that while looking at his reflection in the river and it looked awful and he doesn't trust anyone else to cut it for him. I do like to imagine that Paige looked at him, immediately recognized that he cut his own hair, and offered to cut it for him at some point during season 1. This probably doesn't work well with the timeline, but it's real to me and i can headcanon what i want.
Second Image: It was fully not intentional on my part that Faulkner's s2 fit would be so reminiscent of my s1 design for Carpenter, but then I realized that was the case and there's no going back now. It fits so well and is very important to me as a detail. I also imagine he doesn't really want to show off that scar he got from the sentinel, because he sees it as a failure, so he wears the turtleneck, Also, it's practical, because it's probably cold up in those mountains.
I was going back and forth for a bit on how much Mercer fucked up Faulkner's face when she beat him up at the end of season 2. I might alter my design for him so that she fully gives him a broken nose, because she did hit him A Lot. I also don't know how much the glass would leave a mark, but I like the idea of him having very small scars on his hands from the mirror glass for the rest of the series.
I'll make a note here about my thoughts on the fishhooks now, because I've decided I like the thought of them being awarded for successful pilgrimages/other religious victories. Where you get the piercing probably also matters, because fishhooks are also used to mark sacrifices, but it's a concept I want to play around with more. We'll see where I go with this.
Third Image: No particular notes on that first drawing, and honestly not a lot of notes on the high prophet fit either, since that one is basically my closest interpretation of what's stated in text. I liked the idea of his shoes being replaced with less practical, but better looking shoes. or maybe not since shoes dont exist anymore. tragic
Also, I imagine the cope is very very intricately embroidered. I didn't know how to get that across with the scale I was working with, but trust me. I also like the though that on the shoulders, the whole face is depicted, but you can't see most of it because it's covered by that outer shawl-like thing. The shawl/poncho shape has kinda become a staple of Parish fits, so I think I'm going to keep rolling with it. In the second drawing of the second image, you kinda get that shape with his sleeves, and his cassock also has that going on at the top of the sleeves. I don't know, it's something.
I may or may not be missing injuries on my little injuries diagram, but I'm pretty confident ive got the important ones. I did eventually settle on Mercer not breaking his nose (for now at least), but i did like the thought of her knocking out or cracking one of his teeth, like he did to Carpenter in the season 1 finale. cycles of violence or something.
#the silt verses#tsv#brother faulkner#faulkner tsv#tw blood#tw injury#I’ve been working on these off and on for AGES I’m so glad they’re done#Paige is up next I think!!#also my faulkner design might still be fiddled with#I think some of these seem more accurate than others and I’m trying to figure out what I did there#also hopefullyyyy I didn’t miss any major injuries? I was going back and forth on whether Mercer managed to break his nose#fish’s-art#oh my god if this doesn’t show up in the tags I’m going to LOSE IT

mutant file (logan howlett x fem!oc)
name: michaela isabella fiore
alias: natura
day of birth: june 22nd, 1968 (32 in X Men 1)
height: 5'6
category: mutant (alpha level)
abilities: chlorokinesis, toxikinesis, toxic immunity, genius
residence: xavier school for gifted youngsters
occupation: doctor and biology teacher
affliction: x-men (since 1990)
state: alive
history
"early life"
Michaela Isabella Fiore, born on 22 June 1968, daughter of Paul and Francesca Fiore in the borough of Brooklyn, New York. Both are children of first-generation Italian immigrants to the United States. Working class, they ran a flower shop in North Brooklyn. Currently retired.
The first mutant gene samples are demonstrated in a biology class during primary school. According to the teacher's reports, during an experiment where students were asked to grow a bean in a beaker, Fiore's plant grew "abnormally". Other school reports state that, during high school, girls who were picking on Michaela reported to the teacher that Fiore had planted manure in her lockers. It was never proven.
Michaela continued her studies and was awarded one of the Xavier Scholarships for Gifted and Talented Youth at New York University, where she graduated with a major in Botanical Biology and Toxicology and a minor in Genetics, where she met Sara Kinney. She later obtained her PhD at Oxford, with a thesis on assisted mutation in various plants for medical purposes.
"xavier school for gifted youngsters and X Men"
Since her doctorate at Oxford in 1990, Michaela Fiore has been a registered biology teacher at Xavier School for gifted youngsters. She is also a member of the X Men team, along with Scott Summer alias Cyclops, Jean Grey alias Marvel Girl, Ororo Munroe alias Storm, Kurt Wagner alias Nightclawer and Hank McCoy alias Beast.
However, Fiore's work is more oriented towards laboratory work and the development of new ways to treat the injured mutants who come to the school.
Some field missions are recorded. Despite little hand-to-hand training, Fiore's skills allow her to get the upper hand in a ranged fight.
During the 2000s, the X Men had several clashes with the notorious ex-terrorist Magneto and his Brotherhood of Mutants. As well as battles against the government against the Mutant Registration Act and the "Mutation Cure". Both Dr. Fiore and Dr. Grey advocated against both of these in Congress.
During this time, new members join the X-Men: Remy LeBeau aka Gambit, Anna Marie aka Rogue, Piotr "Peter" Nikolaievitch Rasputin aka Colossus, Robert Louis "Bobby" Drake aka Ice-Man, Katherine Anne "Kitty" Pryde aka Shadowcat and Logan Howlett aka Wolverine.

ONE SHOTS SET AFTER DAYS OF FUTURE PAST
Currently, the X Men grouping is still unleashed by Scott Summers aka Cyclops, Ororo Munroe aka Storm and Logan Howlett aka Wolverine. Michaela Fiore does not take part in the field missions and shares the position of deputy director with Dr. Jean Grey.
The Sentinel menace was stopped in 1973 by a mutant named Mystique, who saved the president from Magneto.
currently, 2024 (nobody's dead, we're all happy and forgetting the timeline, FUCK TVA)
The school remains the same as it has been all these years, but the threats don't stop. Recently, records came in about a trafficking of mutant children being experimented on by an illegal organisation on the Mexican border.
The X Men are working on it at the moment.
character analysis
Michaela is a kind and optimistic person. Over the years she has gained more experience and control over her powers, which makes her a confident person. At first she was reluctant to be introduced to the X-Men, but her colleagues convinced her.
She spends much of her time in the underground lab at X-Mansion, alongside Jean Grey and, on occasion, Hank McCoy.
Her first encounter with Logan, aka Wolverine, was not a pleasant one. The mutant awoke from his coma (induced by the Professor) altered and confused, so he attacked Michaela and scarred her back with his claws. Michaela, in response, put him to sleep with chloroform, until the Professor arrived.
The two slowly, slowly worked out their differences.
For their personalities clash quite a lot. Logan is a lone wolf, while Michaela is all about teamwork. But according to Cyclops, they're both equally annoying.
Despite appearances, constant bickering and "mutual hatred", there is a pact of respect between the two. They will never say it to each other's faces, but they are very fond of each other. (Everybody knows it, except them).
now some headcannons
The X Men affectionately refer to Michaela as Mickey or Dr. Mickey.
Logan refers to her as "kid".
Mickey refers to him as "old dog".
Mickey wears a necklace with a St. James medal, a legacy from her paternal grandfather Jimmy Fiore.
Mickey doesn't know that Logan's real name is James.
The children shipped their biology teacher and the history teacher (i.e. them).
Michaela was upset after Logan's departure after fighting Magneto.
And when he left again.
And again.
He has commitment issues (no shit).
Apparently he always fixes it when he comes back.
The X Men always party when he comes back, they go to a bar a few miles from the school.
Our girl can't stand alcohol (she's given Logan endless lectures on the problems of alcohol), but on these occasions she has a margarita or two.
Bad idea.
She's a lightweight.
Very funny until she throws up.
Logan always ends up looking after her.
But not without laughing the next morning, delivering her own sermons against her.
Again, children SHIP them.
Bobby tried to lock them in a classroom. It was fun until Logan chased him all over the mansion.
Logan offers to teach Michaela how to fight.
She has improved a lot.
He always ends up in a cold shower.
Sometimes they are found in the kitchen at night, or in the greenhouse or laboratory.
Logan suffers from chronic nightmares, about his past, about Weapon X, PTSD...
Michaela is only used to little or no sleep. She lives in a mansion with hundreds of children, there must always be someone awake.
They do not normally speak at these meetings.
The next morning it's back to normal.
Michaela lives in coffee.
Logan hates coffee.
Logan always makes Michaela coffee.
They will end up together. For sure. But there are bets hanging around.
Even Magneto, in his plastic prison, asks the Professor for updates.
"Any news on...?" "Not that I know of." "For God's sake, Charles! You're a mind reader!"

The Sign of the Four: The Statement of the Case
CW for the end of this as it includes discussions of child murder and detailed discussions of capital punishment.
Turbans have never been particularly common in the United Kingdom; these days, they are most likely to be worn by West African women or those who are undergoing chemotherapy.
It was the norm for a married woman to be referred to as "Mrs. [husband's name]", especially on something like a dinner invite. Historically, in the English common law system the United States also uses, a woman's legal identity was subsumed by her husband on marriage, in something called coverture. In some cases, a woman who ran her own business could be treated as legally single (a femme sole) and so sue someone - or be sued. This practice was gradually abolished, but did fully end until the 1970s.
@myemuisemo has excellently covered the reasons why Mary would have been sent back to the UK.
As you were looking at a rather long trip to and from India, even with the Suez Canal open by 1878, long leave like this would have been commonplace.
The Andaman Islands are an archipelago SW of what is now Myanmar and was then called Burma. The indigenous Andamanese lived pretty much an isolated experience until the late 19th century when the British showed up. The locals were pretty hostile to outsiders; shipwrecked crews were often attacked and killed in the 1830s and 1840s, the place getting a reputation for cannibalism.
The British eventually managed to conquer the place and combine its administration with the Nicobar Islands. Most of the native population would be wiped out via outside disease and loss of territory; they now number around 500 people. The Indian government, who took over the area on independence, now legally protect the remaining tribespeople, restricting or banning access to much of the area.
Of particular note are the Sentinelese of North Sentinel Island, who have made abundantly clear that they do not want outside contact. This is probably due to the British in the late 1800s, who kidnapped some of them and took them to Port Blair. The adults died of disease and the children were returned with gifts... possibly of the deadly sort. Various attempts by the Indian government (who legally claimed the island in 1970 via dropping a marker off) and anthropologists to contact them have generally not gone well, with the islanders' response frequently being of the arrow-firing variety. Eventually, via this and NGO pressure, most people got the hint and the Indian government outright banned visits to the island.
In 2004, after the Asian tsunami that killed over 2,000 people in the archipelago, the Indian Coast Guard sent over a helicopter to check the inhabitants were OK. They made clear they were via - guess what - firing arrows at the helicopter. Most of the people killed were locals and tourists; the indigenous tribes knew "earthquake equals possible tsunami" and had headed for higher ground.
In 2006, an Indian crab harvesting boat drifted onto the island; both of the crew were killed and buried.
In 2018, an American evangelical missionary called John Allen Chau illegally went to the island, aiming to convert the locals to Christianity. He ended up as a Darwin Award winner and the Indians gave up attempts to recover his body.
The first British penal colony in the area was established in 1789 by the Bengalese but shut down in 1796 due to a high rate of disease and death. The second was set up in 1857 and remained in operation until 1947.
People poisoning children for the insurance money was a sadly rather common occurrence in the Victorian era to the point that people cracked jokes about it if a child was enrolled in a burial society i.e. where people paid in money to cover funeral expenses and to pay out on someone's death.
The most infamous of these was Mary Ann Cotton from Durham, who is believed to have murdered 21 people, including three of her four husbands and 11 of her 13 children so she could get the payouts. She was arrested in July 1872 and charged with the murder of her stepson, Charles Edward Cotton, who had been exhumed after his attending doctor kept bodily samples and found traces of arsenic. After a delay for her to give birth to her final child in prison and a row in London over the choice the Attorney General (legally responsible for the prosecution of poisoning cases) had made for the prosecuting counsel, she was convicted in March 1973 of the murder and sentenced to death, the jury coming back after just 90 minutes. The standard Victorian practice was for any further legal action to be dropped after a capital conviction, as hanging would come pretty quickly.
Cotton was hanged at Durham County Goal that same month. Instead of her neck being broken, she slowly strangled to death as the rope had been made too short, possibly deliberately.
Then again, the hangman was William Calcraft, who had started off flogging juvenille offenders at Newgate Prison. Calcraft hanged an estimated 450 people over a 45-year career and developed quite a reputation for incompetence or sadism (historians debate this) due to his use of short drops. On several occasions, he would have to go down into the pit and pull on the condemned person's legs to speed up their death. In a triple hanging in 1867 of three Fenian who had murdered a police officer, one died instantly but the other two didn't. Calcraft went down and finished one of them off to the horror of officiating priest Father Gadd, who refused to let him do the same to the third and held the man's hand for 45 minutes until it was over. There was also his very public 1856 botch that led to the pinioning of the condemned's legs to become standard practice.
Calcraft also engaged in the then-common and legal practice of selling off the rope and the condemned person's clothing to make extra money. The latter would got straight to Madame Tussaud's for the latest addition to the Chamber of Horrors. Eventually, he would be pensioned off in 1874 aged 73 after increasingly negative press comment.
The Martyrdom of Man was a secular "universal" history of the Western World, published in 1872.

Winged Sentinel au Snippet 7: Harddrive
Trigger Warnings: Night Terrors, Trauma, and abusive themes.
Despite the fun Jetstorm has at Maccadam, he is still uneasy, thinking about all those awful words on the streets directed at him and his brother as he twists and turns on the bottom bunk in unrest while Jetfire sleeps peacefully on the top.
After an hour or so, Jetstorm finally closed his optics, drifting off into his sleep, and the next thing he knew, he was no longer inside of his and Jetfire's quarters; instead, he was standing inside a small vanity room, watching his brother on a chair in front of a mirror getting prepped up by a light blue femme.
This wasn't a dream; this was a memory long before he or Jetfire were project Safeguard when they were grounded vehicles, and this wasn't a random femme. This was their carrier.
Jetstorm knows this memory like the back of his servo; this was their carrier getting them ready for the annual sparkling pageant. A perfect way to remind them that they had never been treated like everyone else even before Project Safeguard even if neither of them realized it at the time
“Carrier, I’m hungry, “ cried Jetfire, looking fatigued as their carrier cleaned off the top helm, almost like he was a toy.
“Aw, Sweetheart, you can eat after you win this round, just your brother in the last round“ replied Carrier patting him on the shoulders gently.
Jetstorm wanted to wake up right then and there. He hated reliving this moment that he had rather forgotten. Unfortunately, he couldn't move his body or mouth. He was trapped in reliving this memory the exact way he remembered it.
“Can I eat if I don't win?” asked Jetfire weaky.
Their carrier didn't reply to the question and instead kept cleaning the top of the Jetfire helm.
“Carrier?” cried Jetfire wanting an answer from the Carrier that he was supposed to trust and had faith in
Jetstorm tried to move over to his brother to comfort him when…
SWOOP
Jetstorm was no longer in a vanity room; instead, he found himself in a hallway adorned with photos from various pageants and awards. In the corner of the hallway, a simple monitor displayed the news, featuring a white mech as the news anchor.
“Breaking news, there has been a major incident at Cyberion top’s industrial unit that killed these two workers,” announced the new anchor as photos of a sliver mech and an older orange mech appeared on the screen.
Jetstrom immediately recognizes the older orange mech, the one that looks so much like his brother and has been gone for so long whom he missed too much ever since he left their Carrier in favor of work.
“Sire” muttered Jetstrom under his breath while tears fell down his optics as he watched the monitor turned off by itself.
Suddenly He felt something appear on his servos so he stared down to find that he was holding one cube of enegon and his faceplate turned pale as a ghost since he knew what was going to happen next.
He wanted to try to wake up again to get out of this memory so he wouldn’t have to witness his biggest mistake yet, but he couldn't help but be trapped, and there was nothing he could do other than to let the memory play out the way it did.
Jetstorm felt his own body moving by itself down the hall until he stopped in front of an open door; he peered inside to find Jetfire sleeping on a berth, clutching his frame in pain while whimpering.
Jetstorm began talking, although the words that came out glossa weren't his own and seemed to be recreating the memory exactly how it happened.
“Jetfire?” quietly spoked Jetstorm slowly entering the room and approaching his suffering brother with enegon in servo.
Jetfire moved restlessly on the berth, mumbling softly in his sleep. His weak voice revealed his troubled dreams as he struggled with the shadows of his slumber.
“Sire, when are you coming back? You’ll feed me, right?“ mumbled Jetfire in his slumber. “I-I missed so much. “
At this moment, Jetstrom was on the verge of making a horrible mistake: lying to his brother. He didn't want his brother to suffer any more than necessary and hoped to give him a glimmer of hope in such a difficult situation. Jetstrom desperately wanted to back out of this, but unfortunately, he felt powerless; he wasn't in control of his memories or what had already happened in the past that he couldn't undo
So reluctantly, he let himself place the cube of enegon next to Jetfire’s breath before placing a note on it and writing on it which simply said this “There always be someone by the side, love, Sire.”
SWOOP
Jetstorm found himself in another hallway, feeling a pull. He looked down and realized he was trying to stop his Carrier from exiting the door.
“Take us with you, please,” cried Jetstorm, trying to pull his Carrier away from the door, yet ended up falling on his back and letting go of her arm in the progress
He watched in horror as his Carrier left, closing the door behind her without saying a single word to him not even a goodbye.
Jetstorm got back up and went to quickly open the door, hoping his Carrier was still only for her to be completely gone, just like he remembered now he was all alone with only his brother in the home unit to support him. No Carrier or Sire to take them, they are only each other now.
Speaking of Jetfire, Jetstorm turned around to find his brother behind him clutching his arm with his servo looking terrified of the future.
“Jetfire, when is Sire and Carrier going to come back?” asked Jetfire softly to his brother.
Jetstorm wishes he could tell the truth, but it would break his brother's spark, and not only he will lose the only family that he has left.
SWOOP
Jetstorm stood in a storage area, surveying the small amount of energon they had left. It was barely enough for both of them to survive the week, and they couldn't acquire more because they didn't have any jobs.
Jetstorm suddenly heard somebody come down from the stairs behind him and it was his brother Jetfire looking very excited waving a flyer in his left servo.
“Jetstorm, I got us a job, and nobody laughed at me this time!” squealed Jetfire, rushing down the stairs to show his brother the flyer.
SWOOP
Jetstorm was now standing on top of a pipe with Jetfire trying to fix it together as a team.
Oh no, this was the worst memory out of all of them. The day that two temporarily died, and despite knowing what was going to happen, Jetstorm wasn't prepared for...
BOOM!
An explosion erupted, forcefully dislodging Jetstrom from the pipe and sending him plummeting. In a flash, Jetfire lunged forward, grabbing his servo just as he began to descend. With quick thinking, he reached out with his other servo, clawing for the edge of the pipe to steady himself and prevent a catastrophic fall.
“Jetstorm got you!” cried Jetfire holding on for dear life to Jetstorm's servo. “I won't let go I prom-”
BOOM!
In a deafening roar, another explosion erupted, sending the twins hurtling in opposite directions, their screams swallowed by the chaos as they plummeted toward their fate.
SWOOP
Jetstorm was now in Perceptor's lab lying down on an examination table next to his brother who was lying down on another examination table across from him Yet he and his brother were no longer grounded vehicles, instead, they were now jets.
Jetstorm looked at himself in shock in the mirror next to him while Jetfire looked at himself in astonishment.
“By the all, Spark, Jetstorm, we look so awesome!” squealed Jetfire “do think Sire knows about this”
“i-I'm sure he does,” replied Jetstorm, still in shock at his new form as he checked himself out from every angle.
FLASH.
Finally, after what felt like an eternity, Jetstorm jolted awake from his dream. He found himself safely back in his bunk, but he was far from okay. Overwhelmed by emotion, he began sobbing uncontrollably, curling up into a ball.
The sound of his sobbing woke Jetfire, who quickly climbed down from the top bunk. He sat on the bottom bunk to check on his brother.
“Jetstorm it's ok! I'm here. What's wrong?” cried Jetfire, placing his servos on Jetstrom’s shoulders.
Jetstorm couldn't take anymore. He needed to tell his brother the truth right now even if it destroyed their relationship forever.
“N-no, it's not; I lied to you!” cried Jetstorm, badly able to get his words out of his glossa.
“Wh-what do you mean?” Asked Jetfire softly.
Jetstorm choked on his word for a moment throughout the sobs, but he yet managed to pull through since he knew it was only right to tell his brother.
“Sire didn't give you all those enegon, it was me..it has always been me” cried Jetstorm “Sire died in an incident before that, and Carrier she’s never coming back..we’re alone.. we've always been alone”
Jetfire's faceplate drained of color, becoming as pale as a ghost, as he sat in stunned disbelief at the shocking revel from his brother.
“Wh- why didn't you tell me?” Asked Jetfire feeling like he had been stabbed in the back
“yo-you were suffering and I-I didn't want to hurt you further so I lied … I just wanted you to be happy..“ choked Jetstorm with more tears foaming down “I just went along with everything that you wanted so you can be happy ”
Jetfire didn't know how to feel at that moment since on the one hand his spark broke at his brother’s sadness however on the other hand he couldn't help but feel a hint of betrayal.
Ultimately, all the times he thought his Sire was feeding him turned out to be a deception. Yet, it made him realize that the support he needed had been right in front of him the whole time.
“So all those times I was hungry, it was you that fed me,” muttered Jetfire, “and it was you who was by my side when everyone left”.
Jetstorm raised his nonexistent eyebrow, unsure where this was heading until Jetfire suddenly pulled him into a hug, which Jetstorm returned.
“Thank you, you're the best brother ever “ sobbed Jetfire “I just wish I was the same “
“W- what do you mean?” sniffed Jetstorm.
“Jetstorm, you dropped everything to support me. I, on the other servo, did nothing for you “ cried Jetfire, looking ashamed of himself as he pulled away from the hug. “I mean just look at us I was excited when we were like this but I never considered how you felt “
Nothing? Jetstorm couldn't believe he was hearing this nonsense. He knows that his brother has done so much for him, and he is going to make sure that Jetfire knows that.
“Nothing?! Jetfire, you were the one that caught me when I fell, you’re always defending me, and most importantly, you are always by my side when I need it,” cried Jetstorm defensively. “you've done More than nothing”.
“R-really?” sniffing Jetfire, shaking a little bit.
“Really?” replied Jetstorm, pulling his brother in for another hug. Jetsfire accepted the embrace, crying into Jetstorm's shoulder. For a while, they stayed like that, holding onto each other tightly as they both let their emotions flow. They had lost so much, but despite everything, they still had each other.
“If you don't mind me asking why were you excited to be a jet anyway “ asked Jetstorm
“Well, it's just that I thought we could be heroes like this, you know, flying across the galaxy and saving the day so.. people can finally respect us, but I guess that didn't happen..did it? “ explained Jetfire, looking embarrassed. “We don't have anyone else on our side”
Jetstorm couldn't argue with that point after all, Their Carrier only used them to win pageants, Their Sire left without thinking how it would affect them, Perceptor saw them as nothing more than a project to play with, Jazz was always uneasy when talking to them or straight up avoiding them together, Ultra Magnus and the council could care less about their fate and Sentinel…wait.
Sentinel was different from the rest of them sure his shouting wasn't pleasant however he put his way to updating himself to a jet just so he could teach them how to fly properly, he gave them different options for medical care and he even though he didn't have to do it …he scared the spark out of a hostess just so they can dine peacefully.
“Well, I won't say that is completely true,” muttered Jetstorm. “Remember who strom into Maccadam when he found we were kicked out “
“... wait a minute yeah that was awesome” squealed Jetfire “I guess we do have somebody on our side”
While talking about Sentinel, the two heard a loud screech coming down the hallway and they immediately recognized it as their prime’s voice.
“And I think he needs our help!” cried Jetstorm.

Sentinel widens his optics to find himself on the surface of Archa Seven with Elita One in front of him laughing until…
SNAP
The surface cracked apart below Elita One, and she let out a blood-curdling scream as she fell into the new form hole and towards a cluster of spiders.
“Elita!” cried out Sentinel, running towards the hole, ready to jump in after her, yet before he could, he felt himself getting held back and pulled away by an invisible force.
To his horror, he witnessed Elita One’s body getting eaten piece by piece by spiders, and he couldn't do anything other than watch while screaming her name as he was pulled further away from her corpse.
“ELITA!!!”
Sentinel tried his best to fight against the invisible force pulling back, kicking and punching yet nothing was working. He was completely trapped within a grip.
He thought he was going to be trapped in this endless scrap-hole forever until he heard a familiar voice cry out his name.
“Sentinel sir!”
FLASH
Sentinel woke up from his berth, falling off of it in the process, landing on the floor in a complete mess as he breathed in and out rapidly, unable to calm himself with every part of him shaking with the whole world spinning around him until.
DROP
A weighted blanket was dropped on him from above and warped around comfortably around him this immediately calmed his nerves with his vision now clear.
He looked up to find out that the one who gave him the weighted blanket was none other than Jetfire and Jetstorm.
Usually, Sentinel would yelled and ask what in Cybertron they were doing here; however, his hard drive was a mess from his nightmare, so he was more vulnerable than usual.
“I-i but…why?” muttered Sentinel, clutching the blanket like it was a lifeline.
“Sentinel, sir, I know what it's like to have nightmares,” replied Jetstorm “I-I have one about…someone that I and Jetfire lost “.
Sentinel's antennae popped up when he heard this: Jetfire and Jetstorm lost someone?
“Wait a minute, you two…lost someone, “ gulped Sentinel, letting his internal thoughts slip out a bit.
Wait a minute, why was he asking this: it was way too personal and too close for comfort, ah! Cursed his now messed up hard drive, making him not think clearly.
“Our Sire, he died in an incident a long time ago “ explained Jetstorm “and I don't think .. either of us can ever sleep again “
Sentinel didn't know whether it was his messed up hard drive and his similar experience with loss but he knew that he needed to do something.
“Huh..well, that isn't completely true. Yeah, you won't get over it, and maybe, just maybe, you'll never get over it, but ..there are other.. options for rest,” muttered Sentinel, managing to stand up from the floor. “Head back to your quarters, i-I need to get something “
The twins were interested in these other options so they did what Sentinel said and heard back to their quarters getting back in their respective berths. A few seconds later, Sentinel entered their quarters with a datapad in one servo that he placed on a drawer before tapping it, and to the twins's astonishment, soft music began playing from it.
“huh.. I heard Jazz talking something about.. music helping with rest, so this.. should huh-” Before Sentinel could finish his awkward sentence, Jetfire and Jetstorm were already fast asleep in their berth “...yeah do that”
“Good night, Sentinel sir” muttered Jetfire and Jetstorm peacefully in their sleep with a sight smile on their faceplate.
For a moment, Sentinel stood there, slightly bewildered that the music was effective as he watched the twins sleep. He wouldn’t admit it out loud—especially not to himself—but he wasn’t just standing due to his bewilderment. He remained in the twins’s room to ensure that they stayed sleeping peacefully. Every few seconds, he changed the music to a softer tone whenever he noticed one of the twins’ faces scrunching up in distress during their sleep. This method seemed to work every time.
Five minutes later, Sentinel snapped out of it and left the room, muttering softly under his breath before shutting the door. “Good night, you two,” he said faintly headed back to his quarters.
_________________________________________
Jazz's helm ached from dealing with all the paperwork from yesterday, so he decided to enter Maccadam to unwind. However, something felt off. The hostess seemed more nervous than usual as she led him to a booth and quickly rushed off after taking his order. Curious took over Jazz's hard drive, so he decided to ask a yellow mech in the booth next to him what was going on.
“Hey is she ok?” questioned Jazz in genuine concern and worried for her health.
“Not after those winged freaks scared her off “ answered the yellow mech rudely “I swear next time I see them here I'll stab them to death and anybody who likes them“
Jazz was immediately taken aback by the yellow mech dangerous comment. Unfortunately, there were more comments like those from the other patrons, all of them having an angry complaint, threat, or rumor about the winged autobots trio.
“those weirdos crushed into the side of my building!” Shouted one fancy golden and blue mech.
“Those abominations need to be thrown in the deepest and harshest prison in cybertion “ screamed a fancy red femme.
“They should be banned from Cybertron altogether, I say,” yelled a fancy cyan Femme.
Jazz didn't like the tension in the room so he decided to try to cool things off unfortunately he didn't know this would be his first mistake.
“Woah guys, don't you think you're going a bit too far? “ quietly spoked Jazz. “I mean you don't even know them”.
Immediately all optics were on Jazz as every patron peeps over to his booth or approached closer to Jazz’s table.
“So what are you on their side after all you work with them don't you?” scoffed the same yellow mech.” wow I thought you were cooler than that “
Jazz's spark felt like he was stabbed in the spark with those cruel words. “What no i-”
Unfortunately, Jazz was cut off by everyone giving him stares and talks of pure disappointment that he overheard or was said directly in front of him.
“What’s a loser”
“wow, Jazz you should've known better”
“He’s a freak “
“I thought you were our friend “
“We should kick him out”
“Which is it jazz? Us or those freaks that will only drag you down”
Jazz was so overwhelmed by all these words that he couldn't think straight as he felt desperate not to be judged by patrons that he shared enegon with a month ago so without thinking he ended up raising his voice.
“W-WILL YOU ALL JUST SHUT AND JUST LET THINK “ Shouted Jazz with his voice stunning everyone in silence as they stared at him in shock
Jazz quickly covered his glossa with his sevros in shock once he realized what done: he lost his cool. No no no.
Among the silence there was muttered among the many pardons that Jazz overhead. “Wow, he's rubbing off from jerkass Sentinel isn't it, come on guys let's get out of here “ whispered a black femme.
It seemed like everyone agreed with her since one by one every pardon began leaving their booth and heading towards the exit door making Jazz panic more.
“Wait hold on, I can fix this, I know how to fix this ” cried Jazz in pure panic and desperation as got up from his table and went after the pardons not thinking rationally at all.
This didn't stop everyone from leaving altogether although a few pardons were curious so they stopped and turned over to Jazz.
“And how exactly are you going to fix this “questioned one pink femme condescendingly.
Jazz was still not thinking straight so irrationally he quickly grabbed a menu from his table and began writing on it before stopping with a sight crazy look on his shades.
“This is how” announced Jazz revealing he wrote a letter of resignation on the menu to Pardons who seemed slightly confused and yet intrigued at what Jazz was going to do next if he was really going to quit his career or it was just a trick so that can leave him alone
Jazz wasn’t messing around he was going to quit the elite guard. It was the thing he could think of that would avoid everything that he was uncomfortable with. He no longer has to feel uneasy when he sees Sentinel or twins, he no longer deals with people harassing him over it and he can be chill again.
It was the perfect plan... right? This was doubt in the back of hard drive screaming at him not to do this but it was overwhelmed by his already irrational thoughts as he marched out of Maccadam and towards Fort Maximus.

A Kudos Post to my favorite ME LIs
this will be a condensed post of my appreciation for ALL of my favorite Mass Effect (including Andromeda) Romances - please keep in mind that this is my opinion/favorites and I may not have one of your romances listed. Please be respectful of that ^.^
Kaidan Alenko - The Sentinel Biotic
I've said it before and I'll say it again - he's by-far one of the most sympathetic, but he's also willing to stand his ground against stuff that contradicts his morals. I thoroughly appreciate that he's supportive, but he's not always a yes-man - whether or not he's romanced.
Also, I've mentioned it before, but chronic migraines are no fucking joke - the cause of them being his implants/biotics too? This man deserves an award.
Liara T'Soni - The Asari Scientist / Shadow Broker
By far, one of my all-time favorite Bioware romances. Her personality and her thoughtfulness always melts my heart and even if she's not romanced, I genuinely believe that she's also a platonic soulmate. Some people may not like her for the hero/savior-complex she has in ME1, but she mellows out in the later games and it feels like she's on equal-footing later on.
Her VA is also one of my all-time favorite actresses - Ali Hillis, who also plays as Lightning (Claire) Farron from FFXIII and recently, Lace Harding from DA: Inquisition / Veilguard.
Garrus Vakarian - The Archangel of Omega
My first ever romance and what initially led me to playing the trilogy. The initial awkwardness of an interspecies liaison, which led to a flirty yet playful interaction - then we find ourselves head-over-heels for this scarred turian.
If not romanced, I genuinely believe that Garrus could also be a platonic soulmate - whether it's FemShep/BroShep. The relationship and understanding feels so... real.
Thane Krios - The Drell Assassin
This romance broke my heart and soul; his troubled life with the loss of his deceased ex-wife and the discord between himself and his son felt like so much for him to bear. Especially for an entire decade. Now, when I initially romanced him, I was merely intrigued by his personality and how he dealt with everything - knowing he had limited time.
Progressing through the story led me to the realization that he was merely getting by, but the second he finds love once more? He's devastated at the prospect that he's found his other half, but with so little time and knowing that she'll be left alone...
I was devastated and pathetically sobbed when he died; especially when watching the clips that were left behind during the Citadel DLC.
Reyes Vidal - The Charlatan of Kadara
By far, one of the most intriguing romances of ME: Andromeda and it felt like there’s a lot of chemistry between him and [preferred] Ryder - regardless if he’s romanced or not. He’s got a flair for the dramatics yet he’s terrified of losing what has become cherished to him, at the cost of his lies.
His personality and voice certainly drew me in during my first play-through - I genuinely thought there would be a game where I found none of the romances appealing, but then this shady bastard appeared and winked.

Falling For the First Time - A Gale/Tav BG3 Modern Olympics AU by janemeteoric on AO3
Rating: Explicit Pairing: Gale Dekarios/Marigold Tav Completed on 9/29/24
“Well, Marigold Tav, you are under no obligation to agree to this request, but if you’re up for it, I’d love to spend some time picking your brain about your creative process when it comes to building these walls. And about the sport in general, what brought you to it, what keeps you coming back…” Marigold cocks her head. “So you are writing an article about it?” He gives her another shrug. “I might,” he allows. “I follow what fascinates me.” Gale Dekarios, despite being an award-winning journalist for the Sword Coast Sentinel, is not having a good year. His career has blown up in his face, the burnout from working so relentlessly for so many years has finally caught up to him, and now he's been banished to Baldur's Gate to cover the Summer Olympics—something he has absolutely no experience or interest in. But then he meets Marigold Tav, a retired sport climber with a pretty smile, and he finds himself rather... fascinated. There's only a week left in this year's Olympic Games, but as a seasoned reporter, Gale knows better than anyone: a lot can happen in a week.

[tag as spoilers 4 the folks that haven't watched tf1 yet!! :3]
they should have kept sentinel alive in tf one so he's like this very dilfy autobot prisoner trying (and failing) to influence orion (whom is merely a baby prime as of rn) into bad decisions. this could also be very funny in the sense that they'd probably all bregudgingly agree that he is kinda good at fighting so they lose the chains but he's still under 24/7 supervision
but also picture this: autobot and decepticon temporary alliance against quintessons but megatron sees sentinel getting abit too chummy with op (and op surprisingly not having any problem with it) so he just. fucking loses it
if me mashing optimus/orion with the worst men ever was an award i'd be holding the most awards right now
🔥!TF ONE SPOILERS!🔥
For a second I got scared I hadn't tagged something O reblogged and I was ready to apologize and behead myself ahhdhfjggjjjg
Ok ok so-
HSHHFJGGJ OK I see the vision!
Ohhh Sentinel getting more and more frustrated because no ona pays attention to him and his attempts at manipulation don't just fall flat, they bring him ridicule.
Come on Sentinel dear, Orion was a rebel even before discovering you were a filthy traitor, now that he knows you are just cannon fodder not even someone worth listening to... just stand there and look pretty :/
Ohhhhhh the drama~~~~~
Megatron is already pissed Orion "chose" Sentinel, saving him a first time and almost getting killed (and then becoming the badass prime that he is)
The girls are fonna fight~ jealousy~~~~ ahdjfjgjgkhkkh

SpaceTime -- A brief history
SpaceTime is Australia’s most popular and respected astronomy and space science news program – averaging over two million downloads every year. We’re also number five in the United States. The show reports on the latest stories and discoveries making news in astronomy, space flight, and science. SpaceTime features weekly interviews with leading Australian scientists about their research. The show began life in 1995 as ‘StarStuff’ on the Australian Broadcasting Corporation’s (ABC) NewsRadio network. Award winning investigative reporter Stuart Gary created the program during more than fifteen years as NewsRadio’s evening anchor and Science Editor. Gary’s always loved science. He studied astronomy at university and was invited to undertake a PHD in astrophysics, but instead focused on his career in journalism and radio broadcasting. Gary’s radio career stretches back some 34 years including 26 at the ABC. He worked as an announcer and music DJ in commercial radio, before becoming a journalist and eventually joining ABC News and Current Affairs. He was part of the team that set up ABC NewsRadio and became one of its first on air presenters. When asked to put his science background to use, Gary developed StarStuff which he wrote, produced and hosted, consistently achieving 9 per cent of the national Australian radio audience based on the ABC’s Nielsen ratings survey figures for the five major Australian metro markets: Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide, and Perth. The StarStuff podcast was published on line by ABC Science -- achieving over 1.3 million downloads annually. However, after some 20 years, the show finally wrapped up in December 2015 following ABC funding cuts, and a redirection of available finances to increase sports and horse racing coverage. Rather than continue with the ABC, Gary resigned so that he could keep the show going independently. StarStuff was rebranded as “SpaceTime”, with the first episode being broadcast in February 2016. Over the years, SpaceTime has grown, more than doubling its former ABC audience numbers and expanding to include new segments such as the Science Report -- which provides a wrap of general science news, weekly skeptical science features, special reports looking at the latest computer and technology news, and Skywatch – which provides a monthly guide to the night skies. The show is published three times weekly (every Monday, Wednesday and Friday) and available from the United States National Science Foundation on Science Zone Radio, and through both i-heart Radio and Tune-In Radio.
