Recently a friend of mine who is a stay-at-home mom with two young boys started selling Avon as something to do on the side for herself. Today I was over at the house helping her with the boys and she asked if there was anything that I would like to order from the next campaign. I took a flip through the catalogue even though I didn’t really need anything, but I managed to find a deal on something that would be nice to have, so I placed an order with her. Today’s random act of kindness: supporting the endeavors of others.

Although I didn’t really need anything I know that it is something that she is doing for herself and I’m happy to support that for her. Sometimes a little interest can go a long way and I wish her success in her efforts.

My Mom and I

Placing your personal Avon orders is something I look forward to. Just this evening, I stopped by my Mom’s place to say hi with my daughter. A few weeks ago, I had given her a lipstick sample that she fell in love with. (Nude Truffle Nourishing Lipstick) She kinda likes the no makeup look.

I sat my keys down next to the door and saw the empty lipstick sample sitting there. I said “Mom, is this the lipstick you wanted me to order for you?” Of which she replied, “Yes, please! I didn’t want to lose the name of it!” I smiled and opened up my app to add it to my order.

It felt good to bring the little things that make us feel beautiful into my Mom’s life and others just by selling Avon online. I understand as a Mom how hard it is to juggle it all. Looking and feeling beautiful should be much easier than society tells us. Avon makes it easy.

Hyperallergic: Banksy Cancels Print Giveaway After Warning from UK Election Commission

For a few days, Banksy was offering an exclusive giveaway of a new, limited-edition print to people who were set to vote against the conservative Tories in the UK’s upcoming general election. But the street artist was forced to cancel his campaign following warnings from the Electoral Commission that his offer may have constituted a criminal offense and invalidated election results, as it required registered voters to send him photographs of their marked paper ballots from election day.

“I regret to announce this ill-conceived and legally dubious promotion has now been cancelled,” Banksy wrote in a statement shared yesterday, headlined “product recall.” His call for pictures on Sunday had immediately raised concerns by many who cited Section 66 of the Representation of the People’s Act, which states that no person shall “directly or indirectly induce a voter to display his ballot paper after he has marked it so as to make known to any person the name of the candidate for whom he has or has not voted.”

Banksy had intended to release the prints on June 9, the day after the election. His offer was extended only to voters in the Bristol North West, Bristol West, North Somerset, Thornbury, Kingswood, and Filton constituencies — all in or near the city of Bristol, the birthplace of the anonymous artist. The new artwork shows a girl reaching for a heart-shaped balloon printed with the Union Jack. It’s a spin on his most famous image, which features the same scene with a less politically charged red balloon.

Police began investigating the campaign on Monday after people began complaining about how it could skew the election results.

“It is a criminal offense under the Representation of People Act 1983 for any voter to accept or agree to accept a gift or similar in return for voting or refraining from voting,” the Avon and Somerset Constabulary wrote in a tweet. “Any person participating in an offer to receive a gift is at risk of being prosecuted.”

As in many states in America, there can be legal consequences for anyone in the UK who photographs a marked ballot. Taking a picture of a ballot’s unique identification number is explicitly against the law, and those who document how others have voted — whether intentionally or not — face a £5,000 (~$6,460 US) fine or six months in prison. The Electoral Commision has advised polling stations to display a notice making clear that photography of any kind is not permitted inside.

Banksy’s original announcement had failed to address any potential repercussions for his fans. The only addendum it included was a lawyer’s note describing the print as a “souvenir piece of campaign material, it is in no way meant to influence the choices of the electorate, has no monetary value, is for amusement purposes only and is strictly not for re-sale.”

The surprise giveaway arrived nearly a month Banksy’s appearance in Dover, where he painted a Brexit-themed mural of a worker chipping away at a star on the European Union flag. As the Telegraph reported, the family that owns the building on which he made his political statement is now planning to sell the piece for £1 million and donate the proceeds to local charities.

Banksy isn’t the only artist engaging with the UK’s upcoming election; Cornelia Parker is doing so under sanctioned terms, as the official artist for the 2017 general election. The first woman to hold the position since its creation in 2011, Parker is producing an election-inspired work that will enter the Parliamentary Art Collection and go on view at the House of Commons in September. In the meantime, she has been keeping a visual diary on Instagram as @electionartist2017.

My Mom and I

Placing your personal Avon orders is something I look forward to. Just this evening, I stopped by my Mom’s place to say hi with my daughter. A few weeks ago, I had given her a lipstick sample that she fell in love with. (Nude Truffle Nourishing Lipstick) She kinda likes the no makeup look.

I sat my keys down next to the door and saw the empty lipstick sample sitting there. I said “Mom, is this the lipstick you wanted me to order for you?” Of which she replied, “Yes, please! I didn’t want to lose the name of it!” I smiled and opened up my app to add it to my order.

It felt good to bring the little things that make us feel beautiful into my Mom’s life and others just by selling Avon online. I understand as a Mom how hard it is to juggle it all. Looking and feeling beautiful should be much easier than society tells us. Avon makes it easy.

Lifestyle of a Businesswoman

When I first ordered my Avon selling kit back in 2016, I was only looking for a cheap way to have access to makeup and skin care. Little did I know I would fall in love with my own little business and come to enjoy the lifestyle of a business owner.

Today, the startup costs for Avon are a little more than when I began ($30) but compared to any other business, you won’t find a startup that low. The startup comes with a free glam kit and free tools for getting round the clock sales driven to your personal Avon website.

After years of ordering everything from Sephora or M.A.C. I knew as a Mom that I no longer wanted to spend that kind of money on myself when I had an alternative. And I haven’t looked back.

My Mom and I

Placing your personal Avon orders is something I look forward to. Just this evening, I stopped by my Mom’s place to say hi with my daughter. A few weeks ago, I had given her a lipstick sample that she fell in love with. (Nude Truffle Nourishing Lipstick) She kinda likes the no makeup look.

I sat my keys down next to the door and saw the empty lipstick sample sitting there. I said “Mom, is this the lipstick you wanted me to order for you?” Of which she replied, “Yes, please! I didn’t want to lose the name of it!” I smiled and opened up my app to add it to my order.

It felt good to bring the little things that make us feel beautiful into my Mom’s life and others just by selling Avon online. I understand as a Mom how hard it is to juggle it all. Looking and feeling beautiful should be much easier than society tells us. Avon makes it easy.

I never run out of makeup, skin care, or body care.

I can choose between 20 different eye shadows at any point in time when doing my makeup

Expensive skin care is something I know nothing about anymore.

I can choose between 30+ different lipstick shades on any given day.

My daughter enjoys playing in Mommy’s lip glosses and putting them in her purse too!

I have inside knowledge of skincare treatments, what works and what doesn’t. I started using Anew Clinical Absolute Even Dark Circle Corrector based on some reviews from other Avon Reps and it’s taken off 10 years of age around my eyes.

Samples are available to me whenever I want them. No questions asked.

I get to blog and take photos promoting some of my favorite products and get paid for it.

I have so much free time with my daughter and family now that I’ve gone down to working my day job part-time
