Since one old man doesn’t know how to use Instagram and is now on an Instagram ban I may as well officially announce it and stop the many rumours and stop the speculation that is going around. (He is helping me write this but he is banned from instagram for the foreseeable future).

Sebastian and I are dating and have been for several years now. Only close family members really knew about it and that’s what the two of us ultimately decided. We wanted to be able to separate our private lives with our racing so decided to keep this relationship to ourselves. Something for just the two of us to enjoy. We never wanted the media or other people to use our relationship against us when racing both in the same team and against one another. It was bad enough when nobody knew we were dating so we could only imagine what it would be like if people knew and therefore we kept it a secret. From everyone.

I’m sorry to our friends whom we have hid this from and ultimately kept apart of ourselves away from you. I’m sorry that we lied to you for those years and for the extravagant excuses that we had come up with (mainly me) since we couldn’t tell you the truth. I’m sorry that we have left you out of some of our most precious moments and memories however we will make sure that you are involved in our future ones.

This doesn’t change anything about us and never has. It’s never affected our racing and never will just like nobody else’s relationships affect their racing abilities. This shouldn’t change anything at all as we are still the same people but if you are homophobic (and therefore probably old fashioned and don’t think there should be gay drivers, or female for that matter) go and watch some other racing series with some other drivers. We don’t need your hatred here.

Anyway, now Sebastian has outed this relationship he is able to come to every race now without it being suspicious. He can officially become a WAG or HAB. (The best one too)

15.02.2019 - Our First Date (Picture of the table and my incredible outfit)

31.03.2019 - Became an official couple (unfortunately no photos, also hopefully I got the date correct. It was after my first pole position of my F1 career and my first podium too)

22.09.2019 - Our First (and only) 1-2 (Truthfully this was the day I truly knew that I loved him. He won yet knew it would be a difficult day for me so spent the whole day, mainly evening, with me instead of celebrating the whole night)

08.04.2020 - Proposal (Yes he made me go on a hike for it and yes he set up a camera to catch this moment)

15.08.2021 - Marriage (I did not copy the date from Seb’s post no matter what everyone says)

But who would be the first one from the paddock to sense there may be more to Sebchal than just being ex teammates? I’m pretty sure the give away would be the way Charles gazing lovingly at Seb btw.👀👀

I’d like to think Pierre would pick up on it because he’s known Charles for years and they’re best friends and I don’t believe he doesn’t see the way Charles looks at Seb. And the things he does...the way he gets all flustered, the lengths he goes to to impress him. Gestures like the homage helmet. He has to see it, right?

I’m not sure if he’d figure it out himself --- or if he’d figure out the full scope of it --- or if he sort of tries to confront Charles to confirm his suspicions that there’s something going on between him and Seb and then Charles just confesses because he has to tell someone (outside of their families I suppose.) Obviously Pierre is Pierre about it and he warms to the idea fairly quickly (even if it’s slightly weird for him because Seb was always someone he quietly looked up to but was probably slightly intimidated by and now he’s apparently married to his best friend?) But yeah he gets on board pretty quickly and promises to keep their secret. 

As for the others...I want to say Alex and Dan. Alex because (aside from being Charles’s teammate in this particular AU) he’s one of Charles’s close friends and they’ve known each other for a while. Also I feel like out of the Twitch Quartet he’s probably the most sensible, perceptive one, enough to pick up on something but again not know the full extent of it. I actually hinted at this in my WIP (I’m pretty sure I shared this snippet on here at some point) where he tells Charles that Seb’s in the paddock with a kid and sort of...watches Charles to gauge his reaction. So I think he can tell Seb means more to Charles than he’s letting on, but he doesn’t have all the pieces (i.e. he probably assumes it’s one-sided.) 

Dan because...Apparently he’s a recurring secondary character in a lot of my writing/headcanons lmao. And again I think he’s more perceptive than people maybe give him credit for. He’s not super close with either of them, but he knows them enough to give an educated guess that there’s something there. Hell, maybe he even figures out that Charles isn’t just volunteering to babysit Nora out of the goodness of his heart. Maybe she trips over or something at some point and Charles’s eyes go wide in the same way that Dan’s sister’s do when she’s concerned about her kids. 

I’m also going to throw in George as a wild card here because I believe he commented under Charles’s Instagram post of the Sebmet. Which is 👀

charlesleclerc I have been dreaming about this moment since I was a little boy. Thankfully, I had my dad and my godfather by my side to help me and guide me then. After, I had to push on my own. I quickly realised that I had to try harder. I did with the help of my team and my family. Now, I achieved my goal of becoming a World Champion with Scuderia Ferrari. Thank you team. Thank you family. Thank you my friends. And last but not least, I want to thank my husband for being there every step of the way. Even when he had to fight for his own dreams, he fought for mine too.
