Hi in the doc, the English captions say that rubies said
Who has more ovaries?
Is that poor translation, a Spanish phrase (like how English would say who has more guts) or was he just being a dickhead and asking about ovaries?
lol, you are giving rubiales way too much credit. he said the words 'ovaries' but what he was trying to ask was "who has more balls" 🙄
he audibly paused before saying the word ovaries but with his hand placement and everything, we know what he was trying to say. and look at the cut to irene after. she gives no fucks during this documentary and we know exactly how she feels.

yeah, i mean this is not a black and white situation. and it was constantly evolving, from the original 'las 15' to those who returned to the selection for the world cup to those who returned this year only. at the end of the day, everyone has their own rationale as to what they did and why, and you just have to take that at face value. even my own thinking has evolved from 2022 to now, and who knows how we would have acted in their shoes.
and yes, both laia aleixandri and lucía garcía's articles in the players' tribune are worth reading on this topic! 🙏

When they showed the pictures of the Las 15 players at the end of the documentary I cannot explain the way started to SOB
The documentary was ON ANOTHER PLANET good…I mean god I can’t remember having been so absolutely shocked and horrified. Even if a lot of this wasn’t necessarily new information, to hear it from the players themselves was just something else.
My heart hurts for them, and especially for Jenni. Honestly feeling grateful she was given the award the other day - nobody was more deserving of it this year than her.
If you haven’t watched it - I highly suggest because it really is a good one. Signed, an avid documentary watcher
Also I kinda wanted to punch Olga in the face during some of it but what else is new

a summary of my emotions watching Se Acabó. what those girls went through personally and professionally for years was beyond disgusting and though it’s not fixed, they’re working so hard to make things better for those to come and deserve all their flowers (jenni especially 🩷)

This documentary was one of THE BEST documentaries I have ever seen watched.
Seeing all of this happen in real time through all of social media was crazy and how the former vice president kept trying to change the narrative to save himself and his friends from all of their despicable actions. He took the attention away from the women’s accomplishments and to make sure that they were the ones seen as crazy and what he did was justifiable.
These women finally get to have their voices heard, say what they’ve been wanting to say without these men breathing down their necks to make sure they don’t speak their truth. Especially with Jenni, she was able to say what she’s been wanting to say without it being censored and speak about her personal experience as the one who endured all the bullshit with the federation.
If you’ve not watched it yet, I highly recommend it and I highly recommend to keep the Spanish audio and put subtitles on to your preferred language so you can hear the true/raw emotions that these strong women are feeling/ felt when everything happened.

just finished watching the documentary....
guy's I recommend having a box of tissues next to you when watching this, it literally had me pausing it to take a breather and reflect.
these women are phenomenal, literally going against a selfish, cocky bastard of a man that would do anything to shatter them in a snap. not only did they stand on business but they fought long and hard for what's right and no words could be put into context of how fucken proud of them.
I have nothing but respect and love for these women and I hope they find peace and fulfilment in everything they do.
always contigo jenni 🤍

So I finished watching the documentary last night, and I have so much respect for the girls for sharing what they went through, especially for Irene, who was labelled as the so called "Leader" of the rebellion for daring to ask for better working conditions. Jenni as well because they were trying to bully and manipulate her into forgetting all about what happened at the World Cup, but also the stuff with the old manager as well, like wtf those poor girls.
Then there's Olga. Oh, don't get me started on that little rat. Not only were you obviously the federations little puppet, you agreed to take part in the documentary and then refuse to give your opinion anything for whatever reason you're kinda just showing you're only there to get your 5 seconds of fame if I didn't like you before you've just made me like you even less
whenever irene encounters any rfef official or administrator, this is what i picture as her inner monologue because they have thrown her under the bus and attacked her for years and years:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
irene was the most fed up by the entire situation because she's so clued in to the federation's bullshit and was the one who immediately clocked the rubiales assault as problematic while jenni was still in shock and processing what had happened. she's a true leader and so deserving of that captain's armband. (and the less said about olga, the better! 🥴)
Tumblr media
yes, it's really a tough situation on so many people involved, but i'm glad that the documentary acknowledged those who were left behind. and even if mapi, patri, pina, etc. did not participate in the documentary, it was a nice touch that the documentary still showed photos and footage of them and talked about the sacrifice they made. 🙏
the only 'new' piece of information to me was the details around alexia's secret meeting with rubiales in early 2023 to unblock some of the 'las 15.' we knew that alexia are some of the players were working behind the scenes, but we didn't really know any of the details or with whom she was working.

I have so much to say about this documentary but the fucking audacity of these men BOYS to call the women selfish and claim that they are throwing a tantrum for hey, wanting to play their sport with the right support and assistance and standing up for themselves, when they will melt down, scream, cry and throw up the second someone bruises their ego or asks them to be held responsible for their actions is diabolical.
So gross. My heart aches for Jenni, I dont know how any of them managed to put up with this for so long ❤️
