~ He hears the movement from outside his bedroom, and immediately lights up. He’s still in his robe and pajamas, but he gets up and goes to meet whoever is at the door. Then of course, before he exits the bedroom door, he panics and, as fast as possible, changes into some actual clothes. When he’s finally done, he hesitates before opening his bedroom door. ~

~ Would they really wanna see him? After he’s been absent for everything? Whatever. He’s been waiting alone with his own thoughts for too long. He opens the door. ~

~ Scylla chugs another glass of water, facing away from Sulfur so it can’t see his bare face. ~

“Hey, what’s up? I got caught up in stuff.”

~ He seems to be matching Sulfur’s energy. Before waiting for a response, he puts down the glass and walks over to his room. Each step he takes seems to be laborious. He leave the door open, perhaps just in case Sulfur wanted to say more. ~

~ There seems to be someone opening the front door. The lock click open, an in walks Scylla. His hair is damp and knotted, there’s still sand lining the crevices of his bathing suit, and- perhaps Sulfur won’t pick up on this, but- Scylla’s eyes, once so magnetic, were void of anything but exhaustion. He doesn’t even notice Sulfur upon walking in, immediately pouring himself a glass of water and chugging it. ~

{It was on the couch when Sulfur heard someone approach the door. As a precaution, it made sure its eye was covered. And then the door unlocked and started to open. Sulfur stared for a moment, ready to attack if it really had to, but relaxed when they noticed it was just Scylla. And then realised that, oh, it's Scylla.} {Sulfur gets up from the couch and moves over to her. It's quiet when it walks. It crosses its arms.} "Welcome back." {Sulfur's tone was flat, it was hard to tell what they were feeling.} "You were gone for a while."

~ Scylla panics, and tries shaking him a little harsher this time around. He isn’t dead, sure, but he could be hurt. Or perhaps he’s just knocked out from exhaustion? If he were to go to urgent care, what would he tell the doctors? ~

~ Slowly but surely, he stands to his feet, pacing for a moment to decide what to do. He walks over to the paddle board, now destroyed beyond ruin with tears in it, and opens the compartment, where his phone, camera, EMF reader, and spirit box are miraculously untouched. He grabs everything and drops it into his bag, with the exception of his phone. He opens up the Home Screen, only to gape at the date that’s being displayed. Five days. Five entire days have gone by. What the fuck. ~

~ He drops the phone in the bag. He’ll text Calypso as soon as he gets back to Etern’s apartment. After all, he can’t just leave the person who saved his life here. He can’t carry the paddle board and Etern at once, so he opts to leave the paddle board behind. He would’ve gotten rid of it anyways, there are holes in it now, and too many bad memories associated with it. ~

~ He swings the beach bag around his shoulder, and with a bit of struggle, he manages to scoop up Etern. Despite his aching muscles, Etern is relatively light, and he has experience in carrying people for long distances. He’ll manage. ~

~ It’s an awkward walk, he gets a few stares. But eventually, he does make it back to Etern’s apartment. Thank gods, the door in unlocked. As fast as he can, he makes his way to Etern’s bedroom, and gently places him down. He tries to situate Etern as comfortably as possible, tucking him in and grabbing the nearest stuffed animal to place next to him. ~

~ Scylla is the first to wake, his eyes slowly fluttering open, before immediately shutting again as some wind blow sand into them. His makeup is completely off, save for some excess mascara under his eyes. He’s too exhausted to even notice, or care about that. Shocker, I know. Without makeup on, Scylla looks very very different. Whether or not you would consider him “uglier” is not up for me to decide. He slowly, very slowly, as his arms still ache badly, pushes himself up, turning to Etern, who lays beside him. He gently shakes the other’s shoulder in an attempt to wake him. ~

Usually a titan goddess daughter of perses and asreria, though sometimes of zeus by asreria, or zeus and demeter, goddess of crossroads and magic, sometimes the dark moon Has a pack of dogs, controls ghosts, can impart wisdom and magic but hell hath no fury like a goddess who does not believe you are deserving Hecate suppers are held by worshipers of black female lamb, Honey, and dog, and the leftover are left at crossroads on a full moon She is often times seen as a triplicate goddess, both the new moon with selene the full moon and artemis of the cresent moon, and the sky goddess with artemis's earth and persephone's underworld Hekate is associated with the underworld and saw persephone's capture by Hades from a cave Pre hellenistic time she may have come from an asia minor country before becoming a respected titan during the hellenistic era, and worship of her persisted through the medival era when she was villainized by the church

Something Permanent.

If there is one thing Annabeth can be certain of, it's this: Percy will always be by her side, through thick and thin.

  Maybe she started to realize it when they had their adventure for Zeus’ lightning bolt. The Furies. Medusa's lair. The Gateway Arch. Ares’ shield and Hephaestus’ traps. The Lotus Casino. Procrustes’ death beds. Cerberus and Hades. Ares again. Luke's betrayal.

 The Sea of Monsters. The Laistrygonian Giants. The Stymphalian birds. Sneaking away from camp to board the Princess Andromeda. A hydra and the CSS Birmingham. Scylla and Charybdis. Circe's Island. The Sirens and her discovery of her fatal flaw. Battling Polyphemus. The Party Ponies. Thalia’s return.

 Annabeth goes over a cliff with the manticore to protect Percy and Thalia. She holds the sky for a time, and Artemis takes over for her. Percy and Thalia come to rescue her; Thalia battles Luke and Percy goes after Atlas only to hold up the sky for Artemis when he realizes he can't win. Annabeth's father comes in, bullets blazing, and it gives them a chance to escape. Zoë Nightshade becomes a constellation. Thalia becomes a Hunter of Artemis. Annabeth and Percy share streaks of grey hair, proof they held up the sky. Nico goes missing. Grover hears Pan.

 During a camp game, she and Percy fall into the Labyrinth. Percy doesn't hesitate when she asks him to join her on her quest. They wind up in Alcatraz, meeting Kampê and Briares. Geryon keeps her, Grover, Tyson, and Nico hostage before Percy defeats him. Bianca’s ghost makes an appearance. They travel to Hephaestus’ forge; on the way back, they split up with Grover and Tyson going one way while she and Percy go another. Percy goes missing for two weeks, and she has to burn his burial shroud—he comes back in the middle of her speech. Taking a mortal into the Labyrinth, they wind up in Antaeus’ arena. Daedalus’ workshop and King Minos. They encounter Kronos and Nico and Rachel stop him from coming after them. Pan's death. The small war at camp that they win only just barely; she gets Daedalus’ laptop out of it and Percy gets a pet hellhound. They both offend the goddess of marriage.

 When the war comes, Percy takes charge of leading them through it, like a natural (she's proud of him). Thalia and the rest of the Hunters arrive to help them defend Manhattan. Percy defends her against Hermes when she mentions Luke. Percy goes with her as she activates Plan 23, as her mother said it was needed. Annabeth takes a poisoned blade to the arm to defend Percy, unknowing of his mortal spot; he tells her of it later and the sort of power she has over him from that alone is enough to terrify her, but she also realizes that he must trust her as much as his mother. When war drives them back closer to the entrance of Mount Olympus, the Party Ponies descend once more. Silena reveals that Luke threatened to blackmail her if she stopped playing spy. Her death kicks Clarisse into gear and gets the Ares cabin to fight. Hades, Nico, Persephone, and a whole legion of the undead join the war. Kronos reaches Mount Olympus and wreaks havoc as he goes for the gods’ thrones. Luke sacrifices himself to save them from Kronos and is honored like any other demigod that lost their lives to protect their home. Percy declines immortality for her, along with an attempt to get the gods on the right track—having them claim all of their children and for the minor gods to be recognized and for Hades’ children to no longer be outcasts. Rachel becomes the Oracle and gives her first prophecy that leaves everyone uneasy, but Percy says the last one took years to complete. They'll deal with it if it comes. For now, they're together and that's what matters.

 Percy Jackson has steadily become Annabeth's something permanent. She just hates that it wasn't something that hit her until tragedy struck.

 It's three months later when they're battling against monsters that have decided to not lay as low as anyone would like. She's been oddly anxious during this entire fight and it isn't because she or Percy are doing anything different—they're fighting together like a well-oiled machine.

 They're fighting back to back like they did during the Battle of Manhattan and they step away from each other to push the hoard away from them, to break up their close knit circle. She almost thinks nothing of the flicker in her peripherals or the tingle at her back until it feels like a cold claw is running up her spine. She turns and sees monsters rushing for Percy's unprotected back. Dread makes her limbs seem heavier and time slows as she throws herself toward his back, a yell leaving her lips.

 Percy's scream rends the air. Blood sprays the concrete and he drops to his knees.

 Annabeth's world stops turning because she rushed forward too late.
