Bear (7) was attempting to craft a paper crown but broke down in tears because it wasn’t going the way they’d envisioned it. They haven’t done that for a long time. Trained to express their emotions from an early age, they could only choke out: “I don’t know what emotion this is!”

Bug, 4, said with an air of 😎: ha! I know that emotion! I feel like THAT all the time.

Bear: I’m so unhappy and I don’t know WHY!

Bug, to me: it’s true. But I don’t cry about it. 💅

Me: (speechless)

Me: well bear. Would you like a marshmallow

Bear: marshmallow can’t fix this

Me: ok what will

Bear, weeping: playing Lego The Hobbit and feeling THOSE feelings instead!!!!

Me: …………

Me: well we all feel that way sometimes

Bear: but I’ve had too much TV today

Me: um…..

Bear: but the only cure for my feelings would be BEING IN THE SHIRE

Me, helpless in the face of such articulations: okay but your siblings have to play too

Bug: I have to play too 😈

Bear, weeping: Bug is so bad at it and always kills me (and I lose all the gold)

Bug: it’s true 😈 I like being thorin and killing you with SWORDS (and stealing gold)

Me: bug please don’t kill your sibling so much????

Bug: no 😎

Me: oh my god bug 😱

Me: also mouse HAS to play with the dummy controller and you have to pretend they are actually playing okay

Bear, weeping inconsolably, but as if a light has broken through their grief: ok

sorry this is so sketchy and there is a goofy marius.

'the final battle' is one of my favourite moments in the show(understatement of the year). there is not a moment more exhilarating than when enjolras gets shot atop the barricade. (credit to actors who try to get shot eight times)
