also thinking about ethan getting flustered and shy around reader all the time in public (shes literally walking him like a dog that he has to hold onto her waist whenever she walks too fast) but in private its a whole different story.
smut below cut MDNI
"ooh look at that dress!" you gasped, squeezing ethan's hand before leading him into the direction of the store.
you stood in front of the window, trying to decide whether or not it was worth purchasing the piece of clothing.
ethan's hand dropped from yours to wrap his arms around your waist, resting his chin on the top of your head as he waited patiently for you to decide.
"is it cute?" you asked, looking up at him with a curious expression as he stared at you in silence, "ethan?"
"s-sorry, what baby?"
you giggled at his answer, realizing he was busy staring at you then actually paying attention to what you were saying.
"you're so adorable," you smiled, standing on your toes to peck his lips quickly, causing his face to heat up almost immediately.
in front of family, friends, especially in public; ethan was this shy quiet boy who was too busy admiring his girlfriend to really pay attention to anything else, which you found adorable.
but behind closed doors, he was the one in charge.
"fuck, look at you- my little cock slut," he groaned from above you, mesmerized by the way his fat cock would disappear inside your tight hole.
you laid there under him completely powerless, brain foggy and eyes watering from his rough thrusts that seemed to rearrange your insides.
"too fucked out to answer?" he cooed, fake pout on his lips as he started toying with your nipples, causing a whine to drop from your mouth.
"good, just lay there and take this dick."

note: thank you @.princessbrunette for creating boxer!rafe !!
extra note: this is an unofficial part 2 !! link
ËâàŒâ§âË.ËâàŒâ§âË.ËâàŒâ§âË.ËâàŒâ§âË.ËâàŒâ§âË.ËâàŒâ§âË.ËâàŒâ§âË.ËâàŒâ§âË.ËâàŒâ§âË.ËâàŒâ§âË.ËâàŒâ§âË.ËâàŒâ§âË.ËâàŒâ§âË.
you clutched the pregnancy test, clammy hands shaking as you felt more scared than ever. rafe was still in his match, and you- you were forbidden from coming to his matches. the last time you came his opponent had made a pass at you after rafe brutally beat him.Â
the guy plummeted to the ground before he could utter another word, and rafe decided that enough was enough. so he sat you down, in your little cameo shorts and baby white tee. your thick lashes battered as he tried to come out the truth. the two of you were in the completely vacant locker room.Â
"listen, kid, i don't think you should come to my matches anymore," he said gently, as you gripped his arm. you had a sweet expression on your face before you heard what he had said - quickly wilting as you frowned at him. before you could open your mouth he had already cupped your face as softly as he could.
his hands were rough and warm on your face, you could smell the brutality on them, yet you felt yourself at ease in his embrace. you could never admit it - but rafe had some control over you that you could never explain.Â
"i know you're going to say it's your calling," he quipped, leaning in closer. his hot breath fanned your neck, as his mouth nipped at your cheek, "but baby i don't think this place is good for you." you felt yourself unwind and opened your mouth to blubber something.Â
you finally gasped out, "but i wanna see you!"Â
he groaned, steady hand moving down to your waist. there was an amused expression on his face, but he stayed firm.Â
"rafe? please."Â
"no."
that was it. so you got another job, and later on, rafe told you to stay at tanyhill with him. you were overjoyed that you would get to see him more and that he was being so gracious. all the girls in the ring had told you he was a playboy and nothing more than that. and you would never tell rafe but it was nice not being a ring girl. sure it was a way to get money fast, but your thighs ached from the amount of times you shined and plucked them.
but it wasn't just that. it was also the dark humid lights that dawned upon you, and trotting while people eyed you like a piece of meat. and now, you felt free, and while rafe would never understand why you chose it - you were a waitress.Â
the owner, delany liked you, so she didn't give you a hard time about anything. it was a cafe where time seemed to slow and it was as if nothing could go wrong. you got up early in the morning, giving rafe a goodbye kiss while he was in bed as he groaned about you leaving so early. you took life at strides. things were great.Â
but here it was. a sign that maybe everything was going to go to shit. be fine. your heartbeat quickened and you could barely breath - that was when you knew it was going to be bad. you could barely imagine yourself pregnant.Â
how old were you? 25? yeah, that was too young and quite frankly did rafe even want a baby? sure he mentioned it sometimes, when you went to baby showers and cooed a baby clothes. but would he-? it was another mouth to feed and god you didn't know if you could support that. rafe, sure, but if he left you? and it was an actual human being to love.
finally, you found yourself rushing out of the bathroom. you had to tell him now, as your heart was on fire, and your hands were stinging. quickly you gathered your stuff and headed over to delany.Â
"i have to go."Â
ËâàŒâ§âË.
the ring was the same as usual. the same musty smell, and that feeling of everything being possible. you weren't recognised - though you did see a couple of familiar faces in the crowd. but you weren't here to chit-chat.Â
urgency drummed through your veins as you found rafe. 12:35. it was almost time for his first match, and you couldn't dump on him like that. no, you really could there was this feeling. this feeling that ran through you like wildfire as you stumbled to him.Â
he looked good, better than good, but he looked alarmed as you twisted yourself around his body.Â
"hey, hey kid," he laughed at you furiously hugging his middle, "i love that you're here but i told you about visiting me, didn't i? we had this conversation-" he was stopped right there as you kissed him, cupping his face. he was out of breath, pupils dilated when it finally set in.Â
maybe he saw the way you sweet doe eyes were welling up with tears, or the way you swayed in his arms as if he let you go you could crumble, or the way you were trying to mouth words, but nothing was coming out of your mouth. he furiously swore under his breath, and pulled you along with him - you followed like a puppy.Â
the dim lights of the corner he had pulled you in soothed your state. no longer did your skin ich, but your head still pounded. rafe looked down at you with a worried expression, as he rubbed your back. you were still holding on to him, wide-eyed.Â
"hey?" he snapped his fingers, "can't be doing that here. not right now. what's wrong?" he asked harshly, and you shook your head, completely nonverbal. he raised a hand through his buzzed hair, concern evident in his eyes. whenever you got like this- which was never he had to remind himself to be gentle.Â
finally, he dropped himself, voice quiet. he didn't care if people saw him like this- all vulnerable. "sweets are you okay?" he probed again. finally with trembling hands, you reached out into your bag to get the pregnancy test- and broke into tears. the two double lines spread fear throughout his heart.Â
rafe had changed. that was a fact, he no longer was plagued by his fathers words as much as before. but could he be a father? suddenly he looked down at you, wispy lashes wet, and doe eyes pleading. suddenly, he felt something blossom in his heart. he imagined you running around in tannyhil, round with his kid. you would be wearing a pretty sun dress, as laughter rang through you.Â
finally, he closed his eyes, "it's gonna be okay."Â
you seemed to take that as a bad sign, gasping out muffled words, "no, rafe, i didn't know what was going to happen, please-" your hand reached out for his, hoping that things were going to be okay.Â
rafe was still looking at the test, as he closed and opened his mouth before shaking his hand, "we're gonna get married, all right? yeah, and i want you to stay here with me. 'cause i need you here." he said tapping your head. there was a watery smile on your face, as you jumped into his arms.Â
he held you tightly, and you sniffed. before letting go of him to look into his eyes. it was at that moment that you realised how much he loved you. when he's staring at you like you are his world, and his steel eyes are soft. when his eyes are welling up with tears.Â
"just really happy and shit," he chuckled, "i can't believe this," he murmured out before pressing his lips on yours. finally, he pulled apart from you, still gazing into your eyes.Â
"you should go," you found yourself whispering out "it's time for your match." yet your hand found a deathly hold on him.
you saw him smile, and give you a peck on the lips, "want you to watch, 'kay? i'm fighting this match for you," and then his hands travelled down to your stomach, "you and baby."Â
dazed you watched him step up into the ring and sighed. if this was love, you'd fight for it any day.Â

late night
summary: your boyfriend visits you after your stressful week, only to find you asleep. will that stop him? not at all. [requested!]
warnings!!: free use kink, heâs a freak tbh, but itâs billy so it checks out. | SMUT: fingering, dirty talk, slight degradation, hair pulling, praise, orgasm denial, unprotected sex. ROUGH sex.
word count: 1.9K
my masterlist | my requests are OPEN
Your week had been exhausting, stressing and overall, a mess. So many shitty things had happened that by the time Friday came you had no social battery or temptation to go out, all you wanted to do was sleep in your comfy bed, at your own place, and not worry about a thing.
Unbeknownst to you, Billy was standing outside your bedroom door, taking a peek. Originally he'd came over to your place to check up on you since you hadn't picked up his calls, however he didn't expect to see you like that, sprawled in your bed, cuddling a pillow, almost naked if it weren't for his own shirt.
Your fan had broken a couple of weeks ago, and since you were lacking cash to replace it, your bedroom was one hell of a furnace, even if the window was open, which is why you slept in nothing but one of Billy's old shirts, no panties, no bra. Your boyfriend's shirt was an oversized fit to you, so you were covered enough to not care about anything while you took a nap.
He tried, but he couldn't resist his thoughts or impulses any longer, he opened slowly the door and walked inside your bedroom without making a sound. In your sleep, you nuzzled your head against the pillow, laying on your tummy comfortably, legs slightly spread for comfort and an attempt to fight off the summer heat.
Billy stepped slowly on the cold floor, avoiding to create any noise.â his hands moved gracefully across your mattress, reaching your soft skin, his fingertips barely touching up your thigh, as he approached closer and closer to your pussy. He didn't held back, you two had a mutual agreement about free use.
Billy softly nudged your right thigh to your right, to spread your legs until they were wide enough, exposing your perfect pussy. His finger touched tentatively, and he bit back a moan when he felt the wetness, he slipped his middle finger inside with ease, beginning to move it slowly.
Upon the sensation, you moaned in your sleep, already starting to wake up, the familiar scent of Billy's cologne reached your nostrils, which is why you didn't panic, once he sensed you were more awake, he slid his ring finger in as well, slowly pumping them in and out, the squelching sounds of your wetness were sinful.
Slowly, you took a hold of your right thigh and moved it up higher, giving him more access to your pussy while you did the bare minimum, still slightly drowsy, smiling lazily at your boyfriend. "You're a jerk, I can't even have a good night sleep."
"I know, I'm the biggest jerk but you love me for it. It's okay to suffer a little bit for your man." He taunted you and started fucking you faster with his fingers, making sure his fingertips massaged your G-spot every now and then.
Your immediate reaction was to moan slightly louder against the pillow, he knew exactly how to work his fingers in a way that had you satisfied but begging for more at the same time.
"That's it, love your jerk boyfriend." He whispered in your ear, teasingly biting your earlobe as he curled his fingers right over your g-spot and began to rub your clit with his thumb.
The pleasure was so good, it was deliciously overwhelming, you let out a whimper. "I don't know if I love you or hate you for this."
"You love me. If you didn't, would I be inside of you like this? No, my sweet girl... God, you're so pretty it hurts." He kept teasing and taunting you with a satisfied smirk as he thrust his fingers in and out faster while rubbing your clit harder, with the purpose of driving you closer and closer to your orgasm.
His efforts were paying off, your moans grew louder, your hips having their own will as they moved closer to his hand, wanting to feel his fingers deeper inside you.
"Fuck, you're so needy." He placed one hand on your hips to keep them in place as he relentlessly fucked you with his fingers while rubbing your clit harder.
"Says the one who came to my place in the middle of the night to fuck me." You couldn't help but bite back, despite the overwhelming amount of pleasure coursing through your body.
"And I'll keep coming to fuck you anytime, anywhere." He growls as he picks up the pace, his fingers digging deeper into your pussy.
At the sound of his words, you tried to move your hips again, in a futile attempt to try and ride his fingers, your orgasm was just around the corner, it only took a bit of pressure and...
Feeling the way your pussy greedily squeezed his fingers, he knew you were about to cum. Billy smirked as he pulled out his fingers.
"You little shi-" You whined about the sudden emptiness in your pussy and the blatant orgasm denial, but were immediately silenced by the sight of Billy licking your juices off his own fingersâthe sight made your pussy clench around nothing.
"What? What are you going to say about your boyfriend who fucks you senseless whenever you ask, hm?" There was a hint of condescension in his voice as he leaned down and kissed your neck, trailing his wet tongue along the soft skin.
You hummed softly, reaching behind you to run your fingers through Billy's hair as you felt his kisses moving to your shoulder blades. "Oh, nothing, baby. Love you."
His smile grew wider as he felt your fingers in his hair. "I love you too, princess. Now come on, I'm going to take my clothes off and fuck you properly."
As soon as he removed his weight from your body. you bit your lip in anticipation, spinning around in bed, laying on your back, your tits jiggling under the shirt from the movement, Billy's eyes immediately darting down to them. "Took you long enough."
"Well, I wanted to take my time and make sure you were all nice and wet for me." He smirked as he pulled his shirt off over his head, revealing a well-defined chest. He grabbed the edge of your shirt and took it off your body, leaving you completely naked and exposed to him, one of his hands moved to pinch your nipple teasingly.
His hands traveling down to unbuckle his belt. Not wanting him to delay it even more, you helped him remove the belt from the hoops, and then unbuttoned his pants and pulled down the zipper.
"Good girl." He whispered as he took off his pants, pulling his boxers down as well, exposing his already hard cock, leaking precum from the reddened tip. He climbed onto the bed and positioned himself between your spread legs, rubbing against your slit, coating his tip with your juices, while making sure to rub against your clit.
"Oh don't be like that-" You complained, voice slightly high pitched due to a moan you held back, his damn teasing... you could feel his tip rubbing.
"Like what?" He inquired, biting his lip, teasingly tapping his tip against your clit.
"Billy-" A perfect mix of pleasure and exasperation could be heard in your voice, you needed his cock inside you badly, and the little shithead knew it.
"You like this, don't you?" He mocked as he positioned himself at your slick entrance, rubbing his cockhead against your opening before slowly pushing inside.
You felt his cock entering slowly, inch by delicious inch, the feeling of every vein and detail of his cock was absolutely amazing, a groan escaping your lips, your back arching slightly to ease it in, seeking more of that feeling.
"Fuck, you're so tight." He groaned huskily as he finally filled you up, his eyes full of lust and desire. He leaned down to capture your lips in a deep kiss while slowly thrusting in and out of you.
You whimpered against his lips and he swallowed each and every sound, moving one of his hands to hook one of your legs over his hip, expecting you to do the same with the other one, which you did.
"That's it, squeeze me tight." He grunted as he picked up the pace, pounding into you with more force this time, dragging his hips so his cock would drag against your walls with every thrust. His free hand reached down to play with one of your nipples while his other held on to the headboard.
You mumbled some praises, what you were saying didn't make an ounce of sense in your head, since your thoughts were completely clouded by lust and pleasure, he always knew how to fuck you, so, so good.
"You love this dick, don't you?" Billy goaded as he pushed deeper inside you with each thrust, going balls deep inside you,
"And you love this pussy." You bit back, giving the same energy, clenching around his cock on purpose.
"Fuck yeah, I love this pussy, I'm obsessed with you, baby," He hissed as he felt you tighten around him. His eyes almost rolled back in pleasure as he grabbed onto the headboard harder, pounding into your pussy mercilessly. "you're mine. Nobody else gets to have this pretty pussy."
"Mmm, is that so?" You two were in an exclusive and in a a stable relationship, but a little tease every now and then wouldn't hurt, you loved to rile the man up, especially during sex.
"Fuck yeah, it's mine, you're mine." He growled as he pulled out of you suddenly, flipping you onto your stomach. His rough hands grasped your hips before slamming back inside you from behind.
Your back immediately arched at the feeling, as you moaned a loud 'fuck!', your pussy felt so full in this position, he was stretching you out so damn good.
"That's it, take it like a good girl." He growled in response to your teasing, Billy grabbed onto your hair to pull your head back slightly. His free hand slid to your front and began rubbing your clit while he continued to pound into you from behind.
"You're so fucking wet, baby." Billy cooed in a mix of arousal and teasing as he felt your juices dripping down his hand. He continued to thrust into you roughly from behind while playing with your swollen clit. "You wanna cum? Hm?"
"F-fuck," Your eyes rolled back in pleasure as he kept pounding into you, your senses in overload. "yes, please."
"That's it baby, come for me.â He grunted as he increased the speed of his thrusting and fingers working on your clit, feeling your pussy squeeze around his cock, milking it for all its worth. "Come on, cum for me."
Billy moaned as he felt your body shudder in climax, your tight pussy quite literally milking him as he also came, filling you up deeply. "That's it, that's it, pretty girl."
"You're mine. I love you." He mumbled as he pulled out of you slowly, both hissing softly from overstimulation. He grabbed the shirt you had been wearing to clean the cum that had dripped down your thighs before throwing it to the side and laying down beside you, pulling you into his arms. "That was fucking amazing."
âAbsolutely.â You agree, yawning softly while you lay your head atop his chest.
"Go to sleep, pretty girl." He murmured as he stroked your hair and ran his fingers down your back soothingly, giving you a soft kiss, nibbling on your lower lip a bit before letting go. âI'll be here when you wake up."
âPromise?â
"Promise.â He nodded, his heartbeat slowing down to match yours as he too began to get sleepy. "I promise I'll always be here for you."
And to your delightâ the next morning you woke up in his arms, just as he promised. Billy was a man of his word, that much you knew.

has being fucking Massive and Immortality changed the alicornsâ perspective on regular ponies? I imagine theyâd get more condescending and distant and stuff
You are surrounded by flies. If you pause, and look closely, you realize the flies are iridescent, with deeply colorful eyes, and beautiful wings like stained glass. It cannot see the colorful windows of your world, but you can try to describe them. But know that doing so take up the creature's precious time. Years to them is mere hours to you. In a long conversation about the stars, you and the fly share ideas and perspectives. You come away delighted with a new view on constellations and what they mean to the common folk.
The fly comes away dazzled, haunted, and halfway to the grave. What was to you a wonderful conversation was years of study, communion, and dedication on the part of the small creature. He gave up any other pursuits, he constructed his life around this cause. He lost his friends, family, and home. You lost your lunch break.
You love this creature. You love the small being that you once were. You want to talk to him again. You want to tell him of the stars, of dreams... but to speak with him twice, at least meaningfully, would take from him the rest of his life. Could you demand that from him for the sake of your own curiosity? Years passed for him already. In the time it took you to draw a breath, his childhood ended. Do you summon him again? Or do you let him go to live his life, what's left of it?
It is painful for everyone. It hurts something in your chest, it breaks the heart of a god. It wounds his family to watch him leave them behind for the sake of what? A mere whim? He had ambitions! He had a story! It's all gone now. Rewritten for your musings.
You leave him. He cries for you but he needs not a goddess. He needs to live, to turn from the sky to his fellow bugs.
That's what he is. A fly. A mere insect to you. To hold him down is to pin him through his soft center, and display his corpse as a record of his extinction.
So look away. Forget the color of his eyes, the sound of his voice, and the intelligence that stirred you to pluck him out his world and keep him in yours. There, he would be a wildflower with a cut stem. He would be beautiful, but he is so small, and so quiet. He would be just a decoration on your table; made to dance and sing for your amusement and then tossed out with the rubbish when he breaks.
You miss him. You love him. But he is a crawling worm and you are the rain. There are many others like him, but you must be careful to only speak a few words to each. Or better yet, say nothing at all. Let them fade and mix into a writhing blur without name, stories, or opinions on stars.
You are surrounded by flies.

episode seven: the massacre at hawkins lab
Steve coughs, swatting at the particles in the air. âJust inhaled a bunch of that crap.â âIâve been trying not to think about how much of the Upside Down weâve ingested since being here.â âItâs stuck in my throat, Y/N.â âAgain, Iâm trying not to think about that.
Summary: bats are really fucking annoying to fight, you always somehow end up critically injured, nancy carries the group on her back as always, eddie gives steve relationship advice (embarassing, tbh), interdimensional bike riding is lowkey fun, and you take a trip down memory lane.
Rating: general, some swearing, violence
Warnings: fem!reader, use of y/n, cursing, blood and gore, critical injuries, mentions of fainting, mentions of death and violence, description of corpses
Words: 11.9k
Before you swing in: ive never been more excited to write a chapter tbh. this episode touches on so many things ive been building up for seasons now !!!! insane !!! im so so so excited to see how yall react. this chapter has my favorite sequence of scenes yet ;) enjoy !
â
His name rips from your mouth. âSteve!âÂ
The bats sink their fangs into his stomach. His legs kick out, he gasps for breath, choking on his pain. Your legs threaten to give out as you stumble towards Steve. Quickly your fingers find the knives you always carry with you just as a bat lunges towards you.
Barely having time to dodge its quick attack, you swat at the creature, but your knives slide off its skin easily. Your heart drops; their flesh is too thick to cut through. The bat screeches at you, its teeth bared, and you throw your body weight against it onto the ground. Angling your knife, you pierce the inside of its mouth, killing it.Â
âShit!â Another bat crawls towards you. Your elbow scrapes the ground as you roll out of its path, slicing into the creatureâs maw.Â
Steve screams again, this time even louder as even more bats surround him. Frantic, you jump to your feet. Without thinking, you grab the tail of one of the bats, its face buried in Steveâs stomach. When you start to pull, Steve shakes his head violently and throws his arm out at you. âGo!â
You donât bother answering; youâre not leaving him.Â
The batâs tail cuts your palms as you pry it off of Steveâs flesh, but as soon as itâs removed, it latches onto your upper thigh. âFuck!â
Razor sharp pain shoots through your entire body. The bat loosens its jaw to only tighten it more; you can feel its teeth hit your bone. Screaming, the white-hot pain blinds you. Your knees give out and you fall before you can catch yourself.
âY/N!â Steve chokes out, desperate. He clenches his jaw, tries to get up. More bats screech overhead, circling you, and Steve knows you only have seconds before youâre dead. But the vines around his neck constrict even more. His airway closes, another bat takes the other oneâs place on his stomach.Â
âMotherfucker!â You stab at the bat, but then a second one slams against your body and your shoulder explodes with pain. âFuck-no,â you try to twist around, to use the last of your strength to remove it from your own skin, but itâs no use. The bats tear at your skin, ripping through muscle and ligaments.Â
Lightning flashes, its light red mars the endless dark blue sky. Above you, a bat screeches, signaling its descent, before it dives towards you at full speed. Your eyes close, you hope death will be quick.Â
âGet fucked!â Someone screams, a sickening thud following. Opening your eyes, you see the creatureâs body get thrown into the air. Eddie stands above you, smiling wickedly, but as soon as he sees the two other bats gnawing on you, he brings his oar over his head and swings.Â
You look away, scared heâll miss, and see Nancy and Robin a few feet away. Nancy holds the other oar, working with Robin to kill the swarm of bats that encase Steveâs body. Seeing them makes you want to cry in sweet relief.Â
The sound of the batsâ pained cries echo in your ears. It takes several attempts before Eddie manages to get them off of you. The batâs teeth cut deeply with every attack, causing you to cry out in pain. Itâs fucking agonizing. Warm blood follows a sickening tearing sensation in your leg.
When Eddie has killed both bats, he helps you stand up. âJesus, you alright?â
âTalk later,â you grunt, already rushing to go help Nancy and Robin. âFight now.â
Eddie doesnât stop you. He swings his oar again and Robin begs you to help. She has a bat pinned down while Nancy pounds her oar into its face, but it wonât fucking die. Its tail has wrapped itself around Steveâs neck and heâs paler than youâve ever seen him.Â
But before you can gut the piece of shit creature, another bat pounces on Nancy. Its claws tear her skin and she yelps. You scream her name and catch her before she falls. âI got you.â
Nancyâs hands clutch your body as you stab the bat. âGet it off me!â
âIâm trying!â The bat wonât let go, screeching with every pull. Biting down, you ignore the searing pain as your palms get cut up even more. Robin tries to help, but you scream at her. âNo! Help Steve!â
She nods quickly and itâs a mess of fighting and screeches and blood. Steve bites down on the batâs tail, its jaw opens as it squeals, giving him just enough time to escape. As he rolls to the side, Robin throws the batâs body onto the ground.Â
Seeing Steve safe reinvigorates you, and with one final scream, you use everything within you to pull the bat off of Nancyâs back. It releases her skin with a squelching pop. You force your knife down its throat and pin the creature to the ground. It writhes beneath you. âNow, Nancy!â
She doesnât hesitate. âGo to hell!â Her oar slams down, killing it.
Behind you Eddie kills the remaining few bats that circle overhead. Steve stands next to you, slamming the final bat into the ground. The body lands with a loud smack against the concrete and Steve rips the carcass in half.Â
Blood drips from his mouth and he messily spits it away. Heâs panting, his stomach is on fire, heâs stuck in some alternate dimension with no way out, but all he can focus on is you.Â
Flesh hangs from your shoulder, leaving behind a gaping wound of exposed muscle. Your thigh is torn clean through. Thereâs blood everywhere. The white of your tanktop is now soaked in red. But youâre here, youâre alive. He hasnât lost you. Not yet, at least.
âY/Nââ Steve practically falls against you, and youâre no better yourself. Youâre crying, snot runs down your face as you grab desperately at him. His hands are all over you as he tries to stop the bleeding, but thereâs so much blood.Â
âI-Iâm here.â Your hands are all over Steveâs body, too. They cup his waist, there are so many bite marks on him, but at least his flesh is warm under your skin. Heâs still here, heâs still yours, and now all you want to do is calm him down. Steve is panicking, holding you as if heâs afraid youâll die in his arms any second, and the fear on his face makes your chest ache.Â
âAre you guys okay?â Nancy asks, tentatively touching your shoulder. A wince slips from her lips when she sees the flesh that is no longer there. âJesus, Y/N.â
Steve wraps his hands around your thigh, itâs bleeding the most and you can barely put any weight on it. âIâm fine, but they took a fucking pound of flesh from her.â
âYouâre no better,â youâve placed your own hands over his stomach, his blood warm against your fingers. âI think you lost your appendix.â
Steve laughs, but almost immediately his laugh turns into a groan. âGod, donât make me laugh. It hurts.â
You apologize, kissing his shoulder. Light catches your attention and you see Robin crouched down next to one of the bat carcasses. She looks up at everyone. âUh, do you guys think these bats have, like, rabies?â
âRobin, if we have rabies, please promise me youâll shoot me.â You tell her, dead serious. Rabies has always terrified you. When you were younger, a rabid fox made its way onto your grandparents' farm. It had killed all the chickens, attacked the herding dog they had, and you remember how distraught your father had been when he had to kill both the fox and the hound.Â
âIâm sure you and Steve donât have rabies.â Nancy says, sensing your growing fear. But before she can say anything else a small group of bats descend from the sky.
Steve pushes you behind him. They land near the gate you fell through, screeching at the five of you. Theyâre a small enough group, Steve voices what youâre all thinking: you can handle them. Flicking your knives out, you prepare for whatâs about to come.Â
Until a swarm grows larger in the distance. Thereâs easily hundreds of them, they cast a shadow below where they fly. Thereâs too many to fight.Â
âYou were saying?â Robin breathes out, eyes never leaving the sky.
Steve is speechless, he doesnât know what to do. His hand tightens around you, protective, but thankfully Nancy has a plan. She tells everyone to run towards the woods and none of you hesitate to follow. Steve swings your legs over his arms, picking you up with ease despite the bite wounds that litter his skin. Like hell heâs letting you run right now; youâre too torn up, you can hardly even walk.Â
As Steve runs with you in his arms, heâs careful to avoid the vines that creep over the ground. Itâs a dizzying rush. All you can do is hold tightly onto him, trusting that Nancy knows where sheâs taking you.Â
Deep into the woods, Nancy calls over her shoulder, âOver here!â
Lifting your head from Steveâs chest, you realize, as you always do, that Nancy Wheeler is a goddamn genius. Sheâs taken you all to Skull Rock.
The giant boulders form a small alcove, just big enough to hide under as the bats fly overhead. She instructs everyone to crawl under and Steve sets you down gently, positioning you so that youâre sitting with your back against the rock. As soon as youâre secure, Steveâs hand goes back to your thigh.
The sound of the bats is almost deafening. No one dares to speak. They fly over at such a gruesome speed, their screeches echoing off the trees. You lose count of how many there are. All you can do is wait for the last of them to leave.
More lightning strikes above. It shakes the ground, the sound reverberates in your skull. You canât believe youâre here. Youâre in the Upside Down. The place youâve only ever spoken about, the entity that haunted your nightmares and took the ones you loved from you.
Itâs so much colder than you imagined it to be. Everything is darker, more twisted. The dimension is exactly as Will once described to you: this is Hawkins, itâs your home, but different. Colder, scarier. These woods are the woods you walked through, the woods where you fell in love, and yet the trees loom over you in a threatening way. Their branches form spikes, the dirt recoils against your feet.Â
Nothing here feels warm. The darkness is never ending.Â
This is where Will was, all by himself, for a week.Â
He had only been twelve.Â
When the nightmare swarm of bats is finally over, Robin carefully pokes her head out from the alcove. âOkay, that was close.â
Eddie agrees, kicking at a rock. Steve offers you his hand to stand, but the moment your skin touches his, you feel sick. All the adrenaline from earlier leaves you. All the blood youâve lost catches up, leaving your body weak. Stumbling, your vision tunnels and your eyes roll back.Â
âWoah, hey.â Steve breaks your fall, snapping his fingers in your face to bring your attention back to him. Heâs weak as well, he has to lean heavily against the rock to steady himself. âY/N-shit!â
âSteve?â Nancy turns around, finding you and him moments away from collapsing. She curses, rushing over. When she sees all the blood that still pours from your thigh, she gags. âOh, fuck.â
âKeep⊠keep talking. Please.â Your breathing is labored, you can hardly form any words. âKeep talking to me. If-if I faint⊠embarrassing.â
âI think sheâs losing it.â Eddie whispers rather loudly to Robin.Â
Nancy grazes Steveâs chest, silently asking him to move your body aside. She wants to get a closer look at his wounds as well, she canât help you if heâs bleeding out himself, but he refuses. âNo, no we need to help Y/N.â
âSteve, youâre also losing bloodââ
âI donât care.â Steve pulls you even closer to his chest, he needs to feel your rib cage rising and falling. He needs to feel you breathe. âHelp her, Nancy.â
His outburst startles Nancy. She takes a step back, alarmed, but clenches her jaw. Thereâs no getting through to Steve; she knows sheâs lost the fight. âAt least sit her down.â
Steve collapses, sliding back against the rock with you tucked to his chest. With shaking hands, he forces you to sit next to him. You wince with every movement, itâs getting harder and harder to stay awake.
âStay with me, angel.â Steve murmurs to you, motioning to Nancy to look down at your thigh. The wound is bleeding the most, the teeth sunk in the deepest.Â
âDonât wanna faint,â your head sags to the side, exhausted. âSo embarrassing.â
Nancy places her hands unsurely to your thigh. The blood squelches, soaking through your jeans. She exhales shakily. âYouâre not-youâre not going to faint, okay? Just keep talking, Y/N.â
âHate bats.â Itâs the first thing that comes to mind, but it seems to settle Nancyâs unease and Steveâs worry. âLittle fuckers hurt.â
Nancy tears the end of her shirt, her nimble fingers gently lift your injured leg. She ties the piece of fabric tight around your thigh, quelling the bleeding. Steve helps with the knot, though really he just needs something to do.Â
âIf you want some good news, Iâm pretty sure wooziness is not a symptom of rabies.â Robin crouches next to you, smiling despite how terrified she is. âSo thatâs something, right?â
You yelp when Nancy tightens the tourniquet. Biting your tongue, you force a smile to Robin. âHooray.â
âThere,â Nancy wipes her hands of your blood. The tourniquet isnât much, but already the bleeding has subsided. âBut I think youâre going to need stitches.â
âIâm tired of hospitals,â you whine, but youâre already feeling a bit better. Youâre weak, sure, but at least your body isnât slowly draining itself out. âThanks, though.â
Nancy nods, smiling softly, before her eyes land on Steveâs stomach. âCan I finally patch you up?â
Steve doesnât even look at her, instead cups your face. Even though youâre covered in blood and sweat and tears, even though your cheek is scabbed and your lip is split, he doesnât think heâs ever found you more beautiful. âYou alright?â
âBeen better,â you admit, squeezing his arm. âBut letâs worry about you now.â Turning to Nancy, you extend your arm. âGot any more torn pieces of clothing?â
She bites her lip. The only thing covering your body is your tank top. Sheâs seen the cuts all over your palms. She doesnât think youâll be able to wrap the cloth around Steve, if sheâs being honest. But she also knows Steve and how fiercely he loves you. He wonât let anyone near him but you.Â
Finally, she sighs. Tearing off more of her shirt, she hands it to you. âYeah, here.â
You thank Nancy again, and she gives you a curt nod before backing away, giving you and Steve some space. Once sheâs gone, you tend to Steveâs injuries. When he moves his hand away and reveals raised, angry flesh, you inhale sharply. âSteveâŠâ
âJust a flesh wound.â He jokes, but you can hear the pain in his voice.Â
Though youâre still dizzy and weak, you manage to lift Steveâs body enough to wrap the makeshift bandage around him. Luckily he isnât bleeding as badly as you are, but the sight of him injured still leaves you nauseous.Â
Tying the fabric around his torso, youâre careful not to hurt him any more. The moment is familiar, reminiscent of the years before. Back in the junkyard when a Demodog nearly tore open your rib cage, Steve had been the one to take care of you. He had so carefully wrapped your cardigan around your chest, been so delicate with you, and now itâs your turn to do the same for him.Â
âWe always end up here, donât we?â You say softly, it still takes a lot of energy for you to speak. You finish tying a knot to secure the bandage and Steve looks at you oddly. He doesnât understand, and you shrug. âYou and me, patching each otherâs wounds up.â
Steveâs eyes soften. It doesnât matter where he could be, in what situation he could be stuck in, you always somehow remind him of how loved he is. âKinda wish the bats had eaten my ribs instead. We couldâve had matching scars.â
You laugh, eyes shining with tears. Fresh pain explodes all over your body, but you laugh anyways. You donât know why youâre laughing or why tears run down your face. The exhaustion and pain from today must finally be catching up to you. âHow romantic.â
Steve laughs as well, the pain of it bearable when he hears your laughter mixing with his. âI love you, angel.â
âI love you, too, honey.â Itâs so cold in the Upside Down, but the warmth of Steveâs love feels like sunshine kissing your skin.Â
Robin clears her throat. âUh, not to ruin this cute moment, but I just wanted to say that if either of you start feeling aggressive, please let me know. Because, ya know. The threat of rabies still.â
âI kinda wanna punch you.â Steve looks at her pointedly, annoyed.Â
You poke his cheek and smile apologetically at Robin. âHe didnât mean that.â
âSense of humor is still intact, thatâs a good sign!â She cheers, then, as an afterthought, she takes off her flannel and hands it to you. âAlso, figured youâd want this. Not that you arenât totally hot right now in only a tiny tank top and blood all over you, itâs just freakishly cold down here and you technically have an exposed wound on your shoulder and who knows what sorts of awful flesh eating diseases there are here.âÂ
You accept the flannel gratefully and thank her. Then, together, you and Steve stand up. The process is difficult, you only have one functional top and bottom, and you walk in a slow manner together as you lean against the other.Â
Up ahead, Eddie is standing on one of the boulders, staring out into the vast dimension. âSo, uh. This place is like Hawkins, but with monsters and nasty shit?â
âBasically.â You respond, grunting as you support Steveâs upper body.Â
Eddie nods, defeated, and before he can step down, Nancy tells him to be careful of the vines. âItâs all a hive mind.â
When Eddie doesnât understand, Steve tries to explain it to him. âAll the creepy crawlies here, dude. Theyâre like, one or something.â
âTheyâre all interconnected. They can feel each otherâs pain, feelings, whatever.â You say, remembering how Jonathan had described Willâs agonizing screams when the vines had been burned in the tunnels.
âStep on a vine, youâre stepping on a bat, youâre stepping on Vecna.â Steve finishes grimly.Â
Eddie smiles sarcastically, obviously displeased with this information, but heâs careful not to step on any vines on his way down.Â
âBut everything from our world is still here, right? Except people?â Robin asks.
You nod. âAccording to Will, yeah.â
This pleases Robin, and she starts explaining her plan. If everything's the same in the Upside Down, then you should be able to use the guns stored away at Hawkinsâ police station. With the ammunition stored there, itâd be more than enough to kill the bats that guard the gate back to Hawkins.Â
âI highly doubt the Hawkins PD has grenades, Robin.â Steve says skeptically. âBut guns? Sure.â
You shake your head. While Robinâs idea is good, thereâs still the issue of going all the way downtown from Skull Rock. The five of you barely made it half a mile without getting killed. Thereâs no way youâd survive three. âBut the police station is downtown. Thatâs too far from here.â
Robin deflates, but Nancy furrows her brows. After thinking for a moment, her eyes light up. âWe donât have to go all the way downtown. I have guns. In my bedroom.â
God you love her.
Eddie scoffs in disbelief. âYou, Nancy Wheeler, have guns⊠plural? In your bedroom?â
âFull of surprises, isnât she?â Robin says with pride.
âAnd this is why we always listen to her.â You sing along, high fiving Robin.Â
Nancy doesnât acknowledge you or Robin, but her cheeks flush with slight embarrassment. âA Russian Makarov and a revolver.â
âYeah, you almost shot me with that one.â Steve reminds her, though his tone is gentle, almost teasing.
You laugh, remembering how terrified he had been when Nancy pointed the gun at him. You all had been so much younger, more naive. All he wanted to do was apologize to Jonathan for their fight earlier. Steve had just wanted to make things right, and thatâs why you stepped in front of him that night. âLuckily for you, I was there to save your life.âÂ
Steve looks down at you fondly. He pulls you close, his eyes are full of so much love. He remembers everything. The night that started it all. âAnd then I saved yours.â
To think that a sprained ankle and a bat full of nails would lead you to here: Steveâs warm chest against you, so full of love.
Lost in your warm memories, neither you nor Steve see Eddie throwing his vest at Steveâs face until itâs too late. The material smacks against him, cruelly bringing the two of you back to reality.Â
âWhat the fuck, Eddie?â You sneer at him, deeply annoyed.Â
He waves at you flirtatiously, a devilish glint in his eyes. âIâm protecting your boyfriendâs modesty for you.â
Before you can retaliate, the ground beneath you starts to shake. The force of it is so sudden, so strong, that it sends you and everyone else falling. Steve catches himself on a rock, holding you tightly to his chest, and you manage to catch Nancy before she falls as well. Eddie grabs onto Robin, stuck on the ground together.
The tremors are violent. Thereâs a cracking sound, branches fall behind you as the earthquake destroys whatever it can. Steve holds you through it, he whispers reassurances to try and calm you. When itâs over everything is quiet for a moment, before a loud, heart stopping shriek cuts into the night.
It doesnât sound like any creature youâve faced before. Far too loud to be a Demodogâs, far too large to be a batâs. The thought of what it could be almost paralyzes you; it couldâve been the Mind Flayer.Â
âGuns seem like a pretty good idea to me.â Eddie finally says, panting.Â
Robin quickly agrees, and you swallow down the bile that rises in your throat. âYeah, okay. I can be okay with guns.â
âSo what are we waiting for?â Steve puts Eddieâs vest on, twirling a flashlight in his hand. He nods to himself, tries to convince himself that heâs as confident as he sounds. He extends his other arm towards you, helping you steady your balance. âLetâs go.â
And you follow.Â
âÂ
Itâs a long walk from Skull Rock to Nancyâs house; itâs an even longer walk when youâre in the Upside Down, hiding from demonic bats. With every branch that snaps beneath someoneâs foot, you all jump. The croak of whatever creature nearby sets everyone on edge.Â
âCouldnât we have tried a road or something just slightly less creepy?â Robin complains, jumping over a vine.Â
Leaning against Steve, you groan. âAnything would be less creepy than this.â
âI think weâre getting close,â Nancy tries to sound convincing, but even sheâs uneasy. âWeâre almost out of here. Donât worry.â
Robin nods at the reassurance, but you canât help but wonder what could possibly come next after you find Nancyâs guns. Itâd be two guns, two critically injured members of the group, two oars, and one switchblade against an army of bats.
Not the best odds.Â
Nancy and Robin wander further ahead, leaving you behind with Steve and Eddie. None of you talk, more so because youâre putting all your energy into not falling on your face and Steve is busy helping you stay upright.
Walking is difficult and painful and youâre so frustrated by it all, especially after you trip over your fourth tree root. If it werenât for Steveâs quick reflexes, youâd be long dead by now.
Eddie must recognize this, too.
âHere, let me justââ He comes next to you and throws your arm over his shoulders before either you or Steve can protest. Immediately the pressure on your injured leg lessens. You sigh in content, and Eddie smirks. âThere ya go, princess.â
âDonât call her that.â Steve snaps, but even he has to admit that Eddieâs help is needed. With him carrying half your weight, Steve is able to breathe a little easier. Youâre better balanced this way. Heâs no longer straining his injuries to support you.Â
Eddie winces. âIâm sorry, just⊠trying to lighten the mood, I guess.â
Steve doesnât say anything, but the silence stretches on and you feel bad for Eddie. He really is trying. Despite the fact that heâs Hawkinsâ most wanted, he still tries to make everyone else laugh. He has to know that heâs never getting out of this alive, and you admire the strength it must take to continue laughing anyways.Â
So you try to for him as well. âThank you, by the way. You saved our lives back there.â
Eddie looks at you funny, he hadnât expected you to acknowledge it. âShit, Steve saved his own ass, man.â
âThatâs true,â you laugh. By the time the fight finished, Steve had somehow managed to fight his way out by himself. âIt was impressive.â
âNo it wasnât.âÂ
Eddie scoffs at Steveâs dismissal. âPlease, that was a real Ozzy move you pulled back there.â
âOzzy?â Steve looks at you, silently asking for some type of explanation, but you shrug.Â
âAll I know is that heâs in Black Sabbath.â Jonathan occasionally listened to the band whenever he was particularly angry, but not enough for you to understand Eddieâs obscure reference.Â
Eddie makes a surprised, but pleased, sound. âHonestly surprised you even know Black Sabbath, but câmon. Ozzy Osbourne, he bit a batâs head off onstage. You seriously havenât heard about that?â
You and Steve stare at him blankly, and he sighs. âWell, it was very metal. Thatâs what Iâm trying to say.â
Steve scoffs again, but deep down you know heâs preening. Itâs not everyday someone commends his strength or recognizes how well he can hold his own. Steve has come a long way since his first fight with Jonathan back at the alley.Â
âI think I finally get why my brother likes you so much,â you tell Eddie, looking up at him curiously. âYou know a lot of weird facts. He goes crazy for them.â
That, and youâre finding that Eddie isnât so bad when he isnât surrounded by his goonies. Heâs actuallyâŠÂ decent when he isnât putting on a show for everyone. Itâs almost reminiscent of how Steve had once been, back when he was the King.Â
But if you ever pointed out that similarity to the boys, you know theyâd be deeply offended.Â
The corners of Eddieâs mouth tilt up. âYeah, well. The kid adores you and practically worships Steve.â
âHe does?â Steve almost sounds bashful at the idea of Dustin worshiping him. It makes your heart constrict. You both miss your brother terribly.Â
Eddie nods. âOh yeah, itâs kinda annoying, to be honest. Especially when all he talks about is Y/N. If he isnât talking about you, heâs talking about her.â
âI doubt thatâs true,â you shake your head. âHe doesnât need me anymore, heâs practically counting down the days until I leave.â
âNah, man. Dustin tells me all the time how much heâll miss you when you leave.â Eddie tells you, voice firm. âKid always talks about how much you look out for him, that he doesnât know what heâll do when youâre gone. In a way, itâs annoyingly endearing. He frets over you just as much as you fret over him. I can see the Henderson charm in him that made you Hawkinsâ sweetheart.âÂ
Everything that Eddie tells you leaves your throat sticky with tears. You didnât know, you couldnât know all Dustin said about you. For the longest time you thought heâd grown to hate you, to resent you the way kids often do with their family. You wouldâve never blamed him; sometimes people just grow up, grow apart, but here Eddie is, telling you that your brother will miss you when youâre gone.Â
Unable to say anything in fear that youâll cry, the only response you give Eddie is a curt, short nod.
Steve rubs your side tenderly, understanding all youâre unable to say. Eddie feels the touch against his own side and he clears his throat. He knows you want him to change the subject. âAdmittedly, I got a little jealous. Hearing the little shrimp talk about you as if you hung the goddamn stars yourself.âÂ
The irony of it all crashes upon you. While you had been jealous of Eddie, he had been jealous of you. The two of you spent months quarreling over Dustin, youâd been uncharacteristically mean to Eddie, and yet the entire time you envied the other.Â
Abandonment can make people cruel.Â
âI was jealous of you, too.â You finally reveal to Eddie, meeting his eyes for the first time tonight.Â
Eddie stares back at you, his expression softens with understanding. He seems to have pieced together what you have: your anger had never been cruel, only defensive. Protective of your brother the way only a sister would in fear of losing him.Â
âGuess that makes us both idiots, huh?â Eddie teases gently, accepting the offering of truce that you present to him.Â
You laugh, looking away. The moment of truce is nice, pleasant almost, until the beat of silence becomes too unbearable for you. Youâve revealed enough of yourself tonight. Awkwardly clearing your throat, you lift your arm from Eddieâs shoulder and pull away. âRobin is probably missing me right now. She hates the dark, these woods are her worst nightmare.â
Steve catches your arm before you leave. Youâre still unsteady on your feet, but he understands what youâre trying to do. Heâs come to learn that you shut away when youâre vulnerable. While you wear your heart on your sleeve, Steve knows that it can be exhausting for you.Â
âNeed me to call her over?â He asks you quietly.
âNo, I can manage.â You kiss Steveâs cheek, thanking him without having to say it. Eddie smiles at you as you leave, tight lipped, but kind nonetheless.Â
The two teens watch you slowly make your way over to Robin, who happily welcomes your presence. She wraps her arms around you and holds you tightly, giggling slightly, before holding you close and helping you walk.Â
âIâll bring her back in one piece!â Robin calls to Steve, giggling under her breath. Steve waves his hand sarcastically, but doesnât argue. Turning to you, Robinâs face shines in the blue moonlight. âYou here to save me from this totally creepy, absolutely horrid woods?â
âDuh,â your laughter reflects hers. âIâm your knight in shining armor, babe.â
Robin squeezes your hand, resting her head against yours as you walk together. Itâs been a long time since youâve held each other like this. The realization makes you guilty. âHowâve you been holding up?â
Robin shrugs, the motion jostles your head, but you donât mind. âWeâre in the Upside Down, some guy named Vecna wants you and Max dead, and you refuse to admit that youâre scared.â
You bite your lip. Robin is just as worried for you as Steve is, sheâs just hidden it better, and you wish that you could spare her the worry. Sheâs put up such a strong front for you. Between Steve, Dustin, Lucas, and Max, Robin knew you didnât want yet another person coddling you.
So she stepped back, gave you the space you wanted, but youâre still her best friend. Robin wonât let you forget that.
âIâm sorry,â you whisper to her, holding onto her as tightly as she holds onto you.Â
Robin shrugs again. âNothing to forgive, pretty girl.â
And itâs as simple as that.
Though Steve canât hear your conversation, he watches you and Robin fondly. The two of you sway together, laughing occasionally. Eddie notices the way Steve looks at you and laughs to himself.Â
âYou know, I was jealous of you, too.â
Steve raises his eyebrow. âWhat?â
âI was jealous of you and Henderson, the little one, I mean. Guess I couldnât accept the fact that Steve Harrington was actually a good dude. I mean, rich parents, popular, chicks love him, not a douche? No way dude. That like, flies in the face of all laws in the universe and my own personal Munson doctrine.â
Then Eddie motions towards you. âAnd when you started dating Y/N? Câmon, man. Everyone knows Y/N Henderson is like, Godâs gift to selflessness. I watched her tutor kids in the library like goddamn Gandhi, and suddenly sheâs dating you? There isnât any law in the universe to explain that. Fucking unfair.â
Though he knows he should be offended, Steve finds himself laughing. If heâs being honest, heâs relieved that someone else is questioning whether Steve deserves you. From the moment he met you, youâve tried convincing him that heâs always deserved you. But Steve knows better, and he canât believe itâs Eddie Munson who sees this, too.Â
âIf it makes you feel any better, I also donât know why Y/N chose me.â Steve confesses, catching Eddieâs attention. âHonestly, I donât think I ever wouldâve been someone she even liked had we not been dragged into the Upside Down together. I was a douchebag. She hated me for years, but I guess saving her life a few times earned me some brownie points.âÂ
Eddie snorts. âSurprised youâre not claiming it was your âstunningly good looksâ that made Y/N fall for you. Oh how humble youâve become.â
âY/N changed me.â Steveâs eyes find your body again. They will always draw towards you no matter where you are.
The sincerity in Steveâs voice surprises Eddie. Licking his lips, he sighs. âWell whatever she did, I never wouldâve jumped in that lake to save your ass, not under any normal circumstances.â A branch snaps, Steve and Eddie turn to its source, but thereâs nothing there. Sighing again, Eddie continues to walk. âOutside of DnD, Iâm no hero. I see danger and I just turn heel and run⊠at least, thatâs what Iâve learned about myself this week.â
Steve doesnât know where Eddie is going with this. âHey, give yourself a break, man.â
Eddie points to you, Robin, and Nancy walking up ahead. âNo, you see. The only reason I came in here was âcause those ladies came in straight after you. I was too ashamed to be the one who stayed behind. But Y/N? She dove in the second your head went under. Nearly tore Robinâs arm off trying to get to you.â
Something heavy settles in Steveâs chest. Thereâs a shift, thereâs something that simmers deep into his rib cage.Â
Eddie forces Steve to look at him. âI donât know how you did it, but she loves you. The way she was screaming your name, it was an unambiguous sign of true love that these cynical eyes have ever seen. And if someone like Y/N Henderson loves you⊠then I figured you must be worth saving.â
Steveâs breath stutters. He looks up at you again, the warmth that cascades his veins whenever he sees you overwhelms him. Steve loves you more than anything. To be told how deeply you love him by someone else is almost too much.Â
You and Steve have been fighting so much recently. Heâs said awful things to you, youâve hurt him in ways he hadnât known he could hurt. All the unspoken words, all the uncertainty and fear, and yet you dove in to save Steve without hesitating.Â
And isnât that all that love is? To love without expectations, without hesitancy. Love is the inability to separate your breath from the personâs lungs; you took all the air out of Steveâs chest the moment you smiled at him.Â
Youâre the best goddamn thing that has ever happened to Steve. Heâs always known this, heâs always known that what the two of you have is special. Itâs something more than just young love.Â
So what if the future you envision doesnât align with Steveâs? How could something so small, so miniscule as compared to forever with you, be what Steve allows to drive you away? You deserve more than just his insecurities. Youâve already decided that Steve deserves your love, what more can he want from you?
He already has you; Steve wonât let you walk away from him. Not this time, not when what you have is rare and real and raw.Â
Steve almost wants to laugh at how funny it is. Heâd been so worried about losing you, that he almost lost you in the process. Whatâs even worse: it took a five minute conversation with fucking Eddie Munson to even realize it.Â
âY/N, sheâsââ Steve begins, but the ground starts to shake again and heâs falling. Eddie curses, sick of these earthquakes, and Steve braces himself as the rumbling continues.Â
Robin struggles to hold onto you as you cower together under the earthâs violent shaking. Instinctively your head turns toward Steve to make sure heâs okay. You find him on the ground next to Eddie. Sensing your eyes on him, Steve looks up and nods reassuringly at you. Relieved, you breathe against Robin.Â
âSecond on my list of least favorite things,â she says, voice shaking. âEarthquakes. Seriously, Iâm unsteady enough as it is.â
âAt least you have two working legs.â You quip.
Robin shushes you, but her voice raises when she sees Nancy stand and take off. âNancy!â
Squinting at the darkness, you see the girlâs figure disappearing into the treeline. Sheâs running alarmingly fast, way too fast for anyone to catch up in time, and your heart lurches. None of you should be splitting up right now. It isnât safe. âFuck! Someone stop her!â
Robin quickly throws you onto your feet and you call after Steve and Eddie to follow. If running was difficult with a bleeding out leg, itâs almost impossible with the ground shaking beneath you. But if Nancyâs in trouble, you need to get to her as soon as you can. Leg be damned.
Breaking through the treeline, you find her standing at the edge of a clearing. There are fallen trees everywhere. Red lightning illuminates the Wheeler house before you. By some miracle, youâve made it.
âCome on.â Nancy breaks the silence, chin held high. She isnât giving up now, not when youâre all so close.Â
She starts to walk, never looking back, and you look at Steve. He grabs your hand. You take a deep breath. You fucking hope Nancyâs plan works.Â
This is your only chance of going home.
âÂ
The Wheeler house is exactly how you remember it, only vines and debris maims its usually pristine appearance. Nancy walks through the door first while Steve shines a flashlight. Particles float everywhere. You try not to think about the fact that youâre inhaling them.
Your foot catches on a stray vine, its tendrils flail angrily at you. Stomping your foot away, you look wearily at Nancy. âLove the decor.â
She rolls her eyes while Robin echoes you. âMight be time to get a maid, Wheeler.â
Ignoring the two of you, Nancy ushers everyone upstairs. While her voice is level, the unease in her body is apparent. She doesnât like seeing her home this way. Sympathetic, you start to follow Nancy, but for a split second you think you hear Dustinâs voice.
Itâs faint, mostly incoherent, and you think youâve finally gone crazy. Thatâs it. Vecna has won, youâve lost the remaining sanity you had left.Â
But then Steve suddenly freezes next to you. His bewilderment tells you that he hears Dustin, too. Thatâs your brother. Youâd know his nasally voice anywhere.
Sharing a look with Steve, you simultaneously begin running around the house, trying to follow the sound of Dustinâs voice. You remember Will telling you how he could hear Joyceâs cries for him while heâd been trapped in the Upside Down. It had been the only way Joyce could communicate with him. What if this is the same?
âStart screaming,â you command Steve, limping over to one of the walls.Â
âIâm sorry?â
âItâs what Will did, he-he screamed for his mom and Joyce was able to hear him.â You press our mouth close to the wall and shout, âDustin!âÂ
He has to hear you. You donât know what youâll do if he doesnât.
Steve wastes no time following along, screaming Dustinâs name at the top of his lungs as well. You know the two of you must look like complete idiots, but youâre desperate.
âDustin! Dustin Henderson you have five seconds to answer me!â You yell, throat burning.
âHello? Answer us!â Steve stands in the center of the kitchen, crouched down as if getting ready to bolt.Â
This is how Nancy, Robin, and Eddie find you. The three of them stare at you and Steve in concern, though none of them want to get any closer. Robin ducks her head down, whispers, âMaybe they really do have rabies.â
âWhat are you guys doing?â Nancy demands, fed up.Â
âHeâs here,â Steve whips his flashlight around, facing them. âHenderson. That little shit, heâs here. Heâs like-heâs in the walls or something. Just listen.â
Dustin, predictably, is quiet the moment Steve tells everyone to listen.Â
You pound on the wall. âOh, now youâre quiet?â Everyone looks at you skeptically and you rub your face tiredly. âLook, I know this all sounds crazy, but I can hear Dustin, alright? Itâs him.â
âDustin!â Steve continues to screech, not helping your whole âwe arenât crazyâ argument.Â
Only Dustinâs voice returns, and thankfully Nancy and everyone else hears it. Together you all search the house, calling your brotherâs name out. Yet now matter how loud you scream, he doesnât respond.
âAlright, either this kid canât hear us or heâs being a total douchebag.â Steve drops his flashlight.
You blow hair out of your face. âNormally heâs a douchebag, but not nearly to this extent.â
Nancy stands next to you. âBut Will found a way to make Joyce listen.â
âWhen Joyce couldnât hear him anymore, she used the Christmas lights.â You look at her. âDo you thinkâŠ?â
Sheâs already running to the nearest lamp in the kitchen. Flicking the switch, nothing happens. You suggest trying a different light, though you know it wonât make a difference. When the lights remain unlit, you slam your palm against the table in frustration.Â
âGuys?â Steve gets your attention. Heâs shining his flashlight at the chandelier that hangs over the Wheelerâs dining table. âYou seeing this?â
Where Steve points his flashlight, a warm, evanescent glow emits from the chandelier. You gasp at its beauty, youâve never seen anything like it. Nancy steps towards the light and slowly puts her hand into the loose waves that flow between the lights. Itâs encased in small orbs that float gently into the air.Â
Nancyâs fingers dance in the light. A path of gold leaves a trail where her fingers have been. The particles in the light surround her hand, pulled in by her presence. Breathless, you reach out as well. The light kisses your hand, and the sensation is soft, almost ticklish.Â
âThis is insane,â you murmur in awe, face illuminated. You never thought youâd encounter beauty in such a place as the Upside Down. But at least Will found the beauty, too. âThis must be how Will did it.â
Robin, Steve, and Eddie copy you and Nancy, putting their hands into the light as well. The five of you twirl your fingers around, causing the light to flicker with every movement.Â
Steveâs pinky reaches for yours. âIt⊠tickles?âÂ
âIt kinda feels good.â Mumbles Robin, making figure 8âs with her finger.Â
Nancy then lowers her hand and asks if anyone knows morse code. She mostly looks at you when you ask, and you bitterly tell her no. Youâd think after everything you and the party have been through, youâd at least learn morse code by now.Â
âWait, does SOS count?âÂ
Eddieâs stupid question makes you hit his chest. âOf course it counts!â
âOw!â He shoves you away from him, straightening his leather jacket. âA âyesâ wouldâve sufficed.â
Nancy shushes the two of you and instructs Eddie to start typing out the code. With a huff, he listens, and soon he begins the pattern for SOS. A soft buzz accompanies every flicker of the light. With each letter combination, you can practically feel Dustin getting closer and closer to you.Â
Itâs almost an indescribable feeling. Somewhere, in another universe, Dustin is standing right where you are. You arenât sure how you know, maybe youâll never be able to find the right words, but your brotherâs presence settles over your own.Â
This must be how Jonathan felt when Joyce was in the Upside Down. He whispered her name so softly when he followed her with the lights. Their love for one another tethered them; now itâs your love for Dustin that tethers him to you.Â
âDustin,â his name comes out whispered, relieved. Heâs okay, you can feel that heâs safe.Â
âY/N?â Dustinâs muffled shouting fills everyone with relief. Steve and Eddie high five, Nancy lets out the breath sheâd been holding, and Robin cheers while you hastily wipe your eyes. The SOS worked. âIs that-is that you?â
âYes!â Steve screams into the chandelier, though you know your brother wonât be able to hear.
Anxious to get to Dustin as fast as you can, you shove your hands into the chandelierâs light and send a long, bright beam of light. More muffled screaming can be heard on the other side, only this time laughter accompanies it.
âHoly shit!â Dustin exclaims in awe. The amazement in his voice makes you miss him even more. Thereâs a murmur of other voices, you can only assume one of them is Lucasâ, before Dustin shouts even louder, âWeâre gonna find you a better light source. Donât move.â
You roll your eyes. âLike we can go anywhere else.â
Dustin leaves again, but heâs back within minutes. Through loud screaming, he tells you to find Hollyâs Lite Brite and go to Nancyâs room. Him and Lucas will meet the rest of you there.Â
The moment Dustin leaves again, Nancy shoves everyone upstairs. âIâll find the light pad, the rest of you go. Now.âÂ
And thatâs how you find yourself restlessly staring at a childâs light up toy on Nancy Wheelerâs bed with Steveâs chest pressed against your back. He leans close to the toy, mumbling under his breath, âCome on, little Henderson.â
The Lite Brite suddenly comes to life. You throw your hands up triumphantly, giddy. âYes!â
âYou guys seeing this?â Dustin asks, to which Nancy responds by putting her hand into the light. Dustin squeals in excitement. This must be a scientific dream for him. âOkay, weâre not moving it, but weâre gonna unplug it. Stand by.â
The light fades away and Dustin prompts someone to spell something. Everyone turns to you. Heâs your brother, you should be the one to make first contact.Â
Carefully, you use your pointer finger to spell out D.U.S.T.
Eddie cocks his head. ââDustâ?â
âHeâll understand.âÂ
When your mom first brought Dustin home from the hospital, heâd been so small. Immediately you fell in love with the small baby, but his size had confused you. Youâd never seen anything so tiny before.Â
âHeâs small,â you informed your father, making a face at the yawning baby before you. âLike dust.â
You were only three, but you can still remember the way your dad had laughed. For years afterwards you never referred to Dustin by his actual name. He was only ever âDustâ to you. Your father joined, the nickname stuck, though your mother came to prefer âDusty.â
It was only after your father left that you stopped calling your brother Dust.Â
âDust!â Dustin laughs excitedly. âIâm Dust! Yes!â He raises his voice louder, he canât believe you remembered the old childhood nickname. âThat worked, guys!â
Everyone cheers, Eddie even throws in his own enthusiastic âhiâ to the Lite Brite. Your face aches from how hard you smile. Turning the toy over to Nancy, you nod at her. âAll yours, Wheeler.â
Her eyebrows knit together as she thinks for a moment. Thereâs so much to tell Dustin and the others, but the Lite Brite is small and too many words to keep track of. âWhat should I write?â
ââHelpâ would be a pretty good place to start.â You suggest to her.Â
Instead, Nancy ends up spelling âstuckâ. Which is pretty fitting, all things considered. Gets the message across well.Â
âYou canât get back through Watergate?â
Steve questions whatever the hell watergate is and Robin has to explain the wordplay. While she does so, pride swells deep within your chest. âDustinâs a little genius that I love so much.â
âIt was pretty clever.â Eddie admits.Â
Nancy tells Dustin that the gate you all came through is guarded. However, never missing a beat, Dustin tells you that he thinks they have a theory that can help. âWe think Watergate isnât the only gate, that thereâs one at every murder site.â
You jerk your head up, eyes widening. It all makes sense now. âWait, I think heâsââ
âDoes anyone have any idea what heâs talking about?â Nancy asks tiredly. Everyone gives her equally tired noâs, but you nod viciously.
âYes! We already know thereâs multiple gates, we just didnât know how, but Dustin mightâve figured it out. Itâs all connected to the murders.â
Nancy looks skeptical. âI donât knowâŠâ Before you can argue with her, she sends a â?â back to Dustin.Â
Who, predictably, doesnât take it well. âSeriously? How many times do I have to be right on the money before you guys just trust me?â
Steve grimaces. âJesus Christ. This kidâs gotta get his ego checked out.âÂ
âItâs his tone, right?â Eddie butts in.
You shove them both. âShut up. Both of you. Dustin can be annoying and frustrating, but heâs right. Heâs always been right. Now if you guys would actually listen, heâll get us out of here.â
Looking pointedly at everyone, you start to explain. âThere was a gate in Loverâs Lake, which we obviously found,â your arms wave behind you. âThe same lake where Patrick died. Now, where else has a dead body been found?â
âEddieâs trailer,â Nancy straightens, understanding where youâre going with this. Looking at Eddie, she asks him how far it is.Â
âSeven miles.âÂ
Your head drops. âWhy couldnât you have lived closer?â
âIâm sorry Iâm⊠poor?â Eddie looks at you incredulously.Â
You flick a dismissive hand at him, but Robin cuts in between you two. âNancy, I know your house here is, like, weirdly, creepily frozen in time and shitââ
âItâs what?â Obviously you missed some important details.Â
Robin holds her hand up. âIâll explain later. Anyways, havenât you always had bikes?â
You and Nancy share a look, both thinking the same thing: the bikes would be perfect. That, and theyâre kinda your only option at the moment.Â
âÂ
Since youâre in no condition to bike (your thigh has only just stopped bleeding) and thereâs only four bikes anyways, Steve has you wrap your arms around his chest and stand on his pegs. He claims itâs so that you can avoid putting any weight on your leg, but you honestly think he just wants you to hold him. Pressing your body close to his, you look around at the houses you pass.
In a strange, twisted way, itâs exhilarating biking through an Upside Down Hawkins. Everything, and yet nothing, is the same. The houses you pass are frozen in time, empty, ghostly. Robin, Nancy, and Eddie bike alongside you and Steve. The scene is almost reminiscent of the night you biked Will home, wind in your hair and the night sky before you.Â
Everything has changed since then.
Somewhere along the route to Eddieâs, you bike past the Creel house. Your arms tighten instinctively around Steve. A chill runs through you, the house is just as haunting in the Upside Down as it is back in your universe. Your head throbs being so close to it, as if warning you, but Steve is turning into Eddieâs neighborhood before you can think much else of it.Â
âThatâs gotta be a Guinness World Record.â Robin throws her bike down, breathless. âMost miles traveled interdimensionally.â
Steve coughs, swatting at the particles in the air. âJust inhaled a bunch of that crap.â
âIâve been trying not to think about how much of the Upside Down weâve ingested since being here.â
âItâs stuck in my throat, Y/N.â
âAgain, Iâm trying not to think about that.â
Eddie opens his trailer door and, just as Dustin predicted, thereâs a gate. Itâs just like the one in Loverâs lake had been: illuminating red light, vines all around its edges. An open wound.Â
âThis is where Chrissy died.â Eddie stares up at the gate, which resides in the ceiling. He swallows heavily. âLike, right where she died.â
âIâm sorry.â Your hand finds Eddieâs arm. You donât know much about what their relationship had been, but he seems to have cared about the girl a lot.Â
Eddie gives you a tight lipped smile, his eyes shining slightly. As he looks at you, Robin sees something moving in the gate. âI think thereâs something in there.â
Something starts to protrude from it, causing the gate to swell rapidly. The vines almost seem to snarl at the intrusion. An ominous, unsteady croak emits from the gate. The sound sets your nerves on edge and Steve shoves you behind him protectively. Hand on your knives, you raise them, bracing.Â
The gate explodes, spewing liquid and vines everywhere. You all scream, jumping back, as something rips through the membrane-like material. Unable to tell whatâs just happened, you squint up at the ceiling.
Nothing jumps out at you, no bats come to feast on your flesh. Finding Steveâs eye, you silently ask him if you should walk closer. Nodding, he grabs your hand, and together you creep towards the remains of the gate.
When you look up, you find Dustinâs smug, joyous face staring back at you. Only heâs upside down with Max, Lucas, and Erica, all just as in shock as you are.
Youâve never been more relieved to see them in your life. Dropping your hands to your knees, you bend over and finally breathe. âOh, thank God.â
âNo wayâŠâ Steve waves at them, and they wave right back. âHi.â
âDustin!â If your leg wasnât hanging by a thread, youâd be jumping up and down right now. Instead, you opt for waving like a madman at your brother. The entire situation is so fucking bizarre, but you donât even care anymore. âYou did it!â
âI did it!â Dustin giggles. âBada bada boom!â
After some heated discussions and a few arguments, Dustin and the others come up with a way to get the five of you out of the Upside Down. Using Eddieâs bed sheets as a makeshift rope had been the easy part. What caused nearly a fist fight between Max and Dustin had been figuring out a soft landing pad for you guys.Â
âI, uh. Have a mattress?â Eddie finally suggested when he noticed Maxâs fist clenching.Â
She glared at him. âWhy didnât you say anything sooner?â
âWell, I mean. Itâs-uh. Minor details?â
But none of them had time to question Eddieâs sudden shyness regarding his mattress. Dustin got straight to work tying the bed sheets together while Max and Lucas worked on dragging the mattress out of Eddieâs room.Â
However, the moment it landed on the ground, all eyes went to the giant stains on the bed. Cringing in disgust, you eye Eddie.
Seeing your disapproving look, he swallows. âThose stains are, uhâŠâ He tries to come up with an excuse, but eventually he realizes itâs better to just accept defeat. âI donât know what those stains are.â
âWould we want to know even if you knew?â You ask him, already knowing the answer.
â... Probably not.â
Dustin tosses the bed sheet rope up, or rather down, through the gate. âNot quite sure how these physics are gonna work, but here goes nothing.â
Miraculously, it lands perfectly in front of you. Dustin tugs at the rope before letting go of it completely. You gasp. The rope stands on its own, stiff but secure, and Dustin lets out a pleased laugh. âAbracadabra.â
âIâve never understood physics.â You say, pulling at the rope. It doesnât move. âBut even I can admit that this is cool.â
Dustin high fives Erica and Robin steps up first. âGuess Iâm the guinea pig.â
âPlease be careful.â You tell her, already dreading your own ascent. Your shoulder still aches and you were never the best at climbing the rope for gym. You preferred soccer, track, anything that involved leg coordination. Not upper body.Â
Robin slowly climbs up, and when her body hits the disgusting mattress back in your dimension, you let out a breath of relief. âThat was kinda fun,â Robin giggles slightly.
Then Eddie stares at you, Steve, and Nancy. He waits for someone to move, obviously not wanting to be next. But when no one does, he shakes his head. âAlright, I guess Iâll go.â
Steve holds the rope steady and Eddie falls onto his mattress safely. He sits up, exhilarated. âThat was fun.â He echoes Robin.Â
Steve gestures for Nancy to go next. âIâll help Y/N up after youâre done.â
She gives him an uncertain look, eyeing your injuries, and you try to smile at her reassuringly. âGo, Iâll be fine. Promise.â
Knowing itâs as good of an answer sheâll get from you, Nancy takes a deep breath. âSee you on the other side.â
You grab her waist and help hoist her up alongside Steve. Sheâs swift, her strength impresses you. Sheâs almost reached the top before you hear the first chime.Â
Itâs loud, deafening. The chime of a grandfather clock.
Another chime follows, then a third, a fourth. It wracks your skull with its force.Â
You turn, gasping, expecting to find the grandfather clock that Max had seen in her vision. Only youâre met with darkness. You canât see anything, you canât find a way out. You canât feel Steve next to you, your hands try to find his in the dark, but all theyâre met with is air.Â
âWhatââ Panic chokes you. None of this is right, you donât know where you are, you donât know whatâs happening and you canât feel Steve andâ
The sensation of sunlight kissing your face stops you.Â
Your eyes open. Youâre no longer in Eddieâs trailer.Â
Youâre outside, thereâs sunshine all around you. In front of you is a field of dandelions, their sweet yellow reflects the gold of the sun above. The grass beneath your feet is soft, lush and green. A bee flies past your head and someone calls your name.
Youâve been here before. In the distance resides a small house on a hill. The blue door and white frames of your childhood home welcomes you. Youâre back in Virginia. Someone calls your name again.
The voice is familiar.Â
Itâs your father, calling you home.Â
The realization knocks all the air out of your lungs. None of this is real. You know it isnât real, but to hear your fatherâs voice, so sweet and saccharine again, it makes you weak. But it isnât real. Your legs begin to move, youâre running before you can think of anything else.Â
This is a vision. The scent of oak trees and strawberries isnât real. The wheat that skims your thighs as you run doesnât exist. âThis is a vision,â you try to talk to yourself, your fingers dig into your pockets for your walkman.Â
You know youâre supposed to always have it on you, thatâs what Dustin told you, but thereâs nothing there. Panic swells within your chest once more. âNo, pleaseââ
Distracted as you look for your walkman, you donât see the body in front of you.
Colliding into your father, he steadies you. âWoah, there.â
His calloused hands are rough and familiar. Heâs laughing, his voice is the same gruff voice that used to sing you to sleep. Your father looks down at you and your entire body freezes when your eyes meet his.Â
You havenât seen him ever since you were twelve. He looks the same as the day he left. His smile is the same, the crooked teeth charming. Your fatherâs nose still points up ever so slightly. The only indication that heâs aged are the wrinkles that line his face, years of sunlight etching them.Â
But itâs his eyes that hurt you the most. Theyâre still kind.Â
âWhat are ya runninâ from, ladybug?â Your father asks you, his southern drawl liquid honey to your ears.Â
Tears build within you hearing the childhood nickname. You were his ladybug for as long as you could remember. When he used to call, heâd whisper the name over the phone as an apology for everything heâd done to you.Â
Because you canât help it, because youâll never be able to do this again, you hug your father. He lets out a soft chuckle at the impact, his arms hold you as theyâve always done. Your face buries itself into his rough t-shirt.
Youâre a little girl who needs her daddy right now.Â
âI.. I missed you, daddy.â Voice breaking, you begin to cry.Â
Your fatherâs palm rests against your hand. He hums, soothing the ache in your bones. âYou know you can never outrun it.â
The words unsettle you, thereâs something about them that causes you to pull away. âOutrun whatâ?â âThe guilt, ladybug. It will always find you.â Your fatherâs smile twists into a sickening grimace. The muscles in his face conjoin, his eyes darken as his voice becomes gravel. Deeper. Until it isnât your fatherâs voice anymore, but someone else's. âIÂ will always find you.â
Too late do you realize that itâs Vecna who now has you. You start to scream, thrashing in your fatherâs arms to escape, but he only grips you harder. Heâs laughing, but itâs no longer your fatherâs laughter.Â
Suddenly youâre thrown into the lake behind you. You fall, screaming, as you descend deep into a pitch black void. Your arms reach out, you try to find anything to grab onto, but thereâs nothing. Itâs just endless emptiness.Â
You land harshly on your back, all the air gone. You gasp, choke on whatever air remains in your body. The impact leaves you coughing, clawing at the ground beneath you to breathe. Soil scrapes under your nails, your palm gets cut on a root.
Youâre in the woods.Â
Scrambling to sit up, you realize youâre in the same part of the woods that Will went missing in. Fear cuts through your veins. Why would Vecna take you here?
âWill?â Youâre on your feet now, cupping your hands over your mouth as you shout his name. Does Vecna have him? Have you lost him again? âWill!â
âHe needed you that night.â Vecnaâs voice taunts you, the sound like rocks grinding together. âWhere were you?â
Youâre running now. Branches cut your face as you break through them. You have to find Will. You canât lose him again. You canât do that to Jonathan, to Joyce and El and Dustin and Mike and everyone else. Youâre the one who lost Will that night.
He had needed you. Isnât that what Vecna said?
âNancy!â Sobbing, you call for someone, anyone. But no one answers. Your vision blurs with tears, thereâs someone running behind you. Chasing you. Terrified, you scream for the person you need the most. âSteve!â
Saying his name must trigger something, because suddenly the scene changes. Youâre no longer in the woods. Youâre on the ledge of someoneâs roof, overlooking a window sill. A large, bay window that youâve spent countless slow mornings residing on.Â
Steveâs house.Â
Heâs standing in front of his bed, facing the window, facing you, but he doesnât look at you. Not how he always does; his gaze lacks warmth.Â
âSteve!â You pound on the glass, you try desperately to get him to acknowledge you, but he doesnât. His eyes are on Nancy, who sits on the bed before him. He leans down, brushes her hair out of her face, before bridging the distance between them.
You watch as Steve kisses Nancy. He cups her chin the way he cups yours. Bile rises in your throat; you canât turn away. Their kisses become heated, Steve is tugging at Nancyâs hair and her clothes. She tugs at him as well, he helps her remove his shirt.
Nancyâs lips trace the expanse of Steveâs neck and his eyes, once closed in bliss, now open. He looks right at you.Â
âDid you really think Iâd forget her, Y/N?â His voice digs into your ears. Nancy nips at his neck and he moans. He throws his head back, looks at you again. âI canât. At least, not as easily as your dad forgot you.â
You stumble back, crying so hard you can barely breathe. Steve laughs seeing your heartbroken reaction. Itâs cruel and awful. Heâs cold. Youâve never known his voice to hold so much malice. Not towards you. Not towards anyone.Â
Heâs wrong. Steve doesnât love Nancy, not anymore. Vecna is the one saying this, you know it isnât Steve. He would never say any of this to you, he could never be so cruel to you. He loves you. You know he does.Â
âN-no! This isnât-this isnât realââ
But the hatred in Steveâs eyes causes your foot to catch on the edge of the roof. You donât have time to catch yourself; your body is weightless again, only this time itâs a much shorter fall. You land on concrete. Ripping your eyes open, there are domed walls around you.Â
Nancy stands above you.Â
Hyperventilating, you crawl away from her. Youâre in Steveâs pool, only itâs empty, infested with vines, and your fingers stain the ground with blood. Everything in your body is screaming at you to run.
âY/Nââ Nancy tries to stop you, but you scream at her, kicking. She only barely avoids your fury. Holding her hands up, she lowers her voice, softens it. Sheâs crying, her terror the same as yours. âY/N, itâs me, okay?â
Your body trembles with exhaustion. You close your eyes, tired of fighting. âPlease be real.â
âIâm real.â Nancy swears to you, carefully reaching for you. When you allow her touch, she helps you stand up.Â
The memory of her having sex with Steve is burned into your mind. You canât look Nancy in the eye. She breathes heavily next to, looking around for a way out, when she sees something. A strangled cry leaves Nancyâs lips.
Barbara Hollandâs corpse sits on the other side of the pool.
You cover your mouth with a gasp, choking slightly at the sight. Nancy cries out in pain, in grief, seeing her best friendâs body dismembered by vines. You stumble towards Nancy and hold her as she sobs.Â
âDo you remember what you did, Nancy? Or have you already forgotten?â Vecnaâs voice shakes the pool. âDonât worry, I showed Y/N. When I kill someone⊠I never forget.â
A sob collapses in your chest. Barbâs death hadnât been Nancyâs fault. Yet to place her in the same pool Barb was killed in, to show Nancy her corpse, is unrelenting cruelty.Â
All around you, blood pours from the vents of the pool. It comes out quick, thick, at a dizzying speed. Nancy tugs at your hand and practically throws you up the ladder to escape. But when you reach the top, youâre met with a red hell.
Itâs exactly how Max drew it.
Fragments of stairs, jagged pieces of wood, a grandfather clock, they all drift through the air painted with blood-red. Somewhere thereâs screaming, the sound only drowned out by lightning. A clock ticks over and over again. Its metronome is maddening.
Nancy holds your hand and neither one of you lets go. Having nowhere else to go, youâre forced to walk down the stairs you arrived at. The clock chimes again and your heart stops.
âI see youâve been looking for me, Nancy. And Y/NâŠâ Vecna pauses, preying on you. âIâve been watching you for quite some time.â
Everything stops.
âAll the guilt, all the pain.âÂ
It comes to you in flashes.Â
How Will used to smile at you, before his childhood was taken from him. Maxâs blue eyes, shining with youth and happiness, before grief killed her. Billy, how he would be kind to your mother at the pool. Hopper, the way youâd bicker with him just to get him to smile.
Itâs all gone because of you; you canât remember how to breathe.Â
Vecna feeds on your fear. âHow fragile youâve become⊠like a dandelion.âÂ
The wording, itâs too specific to not mean anything. Dandelions were once one of your favorite flowers. Before a nightmare from last summer changed everything. The dandelions had filled your mouth with razors and choked you. Someone called your name in the distance, theyâd been too late to save you.
The dream had felt so real. Youâd woken up with tears in your eyes.
And now you know it had been Vecna all along. Even back then. Heâs been watching you for far longer than you realized. The realization chokes you, the fear overwhelms you. Heâs been here all along.
Nancy yanks at your arm, you can barely hear her over the roaring in your head. âY/N, listen to my voice.âÂ
Sheâs shaking you, trying to bring you back to her, but youâre lost. Hyperventilating, you struggle to catch your breath. You feel too vulnerable. Raw. Exposed. There are corpses strung up by vines in front of you. Fredâs broken jaw. Chrissyâs snapped neck. Patrickâs empty eye sockets.Â
The same will happen to you.Â
Youâve spent so long trying to be strong, trying to keep everyone safe. Youâve devoted your entire life to protecting others, helping them. But Vecna has been watching you for almost an entire year, maybe even longer, and you hadnât noticed.
Itâs why heâs targeted Max. He watched you take care of everyone you loved. Vecna watched you raise the girl. He knew itâd hurt you the most to lose her. It hadnât been a coincidence. Itâs all your fault. Itâs always your fault. Will went missing because of you. Billy died because you hadnât said anything. Max will die because you hadnât seen the signs sooner.Â
Nancyâs screams fall deaf on your ears. She shakes you, begs you to come back, but why should you?
This is all your fault.Â
Itâs always your fault.Â
Itâs always your fault. Itâs always your fault. Itâs always your fault. Itâs alwaysâ
You feel your body lift.Â
Everything fades to black.

exceeded caution: part 1
she would have chosen the devil
series masterlist | next part
summary: when your relationship with the younger carpenter sister fails, what happens when thoughts of her older sister start to take over your mind? 4.1k words pairing: tara carpenter x f!reader into sam carpenter x f!reader warnings: toxic relationship, cursing, fighting, alcohol consumption, drug consumption, frankie mentioned, out of character tara.
a/n: this is actually such a bad first chapter because its mostly set up but i promise the next chapters are so much better. but ily carpenter sisters mwah mwah.
âą*š*âą.žžâȘ
couples fight, right?
thatâs how they show they care, right?
thatâs what you were always taught when talking about relationships.
you and tara had started off as friends with benefits. you met early in freshman year and the attraction was instant.
when you started to meet her friends, you quickly learned about their experience in woodsboro. you had known about the notorious killer but you never thought you would find yourself amongst the people associated with the incident.
as time went on, you decided to shoot your shot with her. your feelings became deeper than the desire to satisfy each other in bed.
you asked her out on a proper date after chasing her halfway across campus. you were sweaty and panting but when she delivered a kiss to her cheek with a "yes, i would love to", you knew it was worth it.
after a few dates, you learned that tara had a fear of getting close to people. she told you about amber and how she'd developed issues with commitment after that disastrous relationship.
so when you and tara started fighting at a higher frequency, you thought it was just because you didnât want to lose each other.
you chalked it up to the perpetual state of stress she was in due to her sister being overprotective and not letting her go out as often as she used to.
then you started noticing the cracks in your theory when tara started fighting with you over the smallest thing. your jacket didnât match her skirt, you chewed a little too loud, you handed her the wrong coffee order.
you did your best to calm the girl when she was in her angered state, your efforts proved to be futile when she would just kick you out of her room and youâd have to do the walk of shame out of her apartment.
only to make things worse, you usually bumped into sam on the way out. you knew your girlfriendâs older sister was overprotective of her and you were worried about what she thought of you.
sam often watched you leave from the kitchen, shooting you a look that you couldnât decipher.
đȘđ© đȘđ© đȘđ© đȘđ© đȘđ©
"there's a party tonight for halloween, we should all go." mindy proposed to the group. it was a frat party, and you hated frat parties.
"we should!" your girlfriend, tara, exclaimed.
"is sam even going to let you out of the house?" chad asked, chuckling softly at tara's excitement.
"uhh... that's an issue for later." she said, looking away. you saw the gears turning in her head.
"you're not gonna tell her, are you?" you asked her, you knew her all too well. she turned to you with a small glare on her face.
"and what of it?" she said, snapping a bit. you seem to have taken her out of deep thought. you should have known that would be her response.
whenever a sore subject would come up, you tried not to bother her too much about it. you should have held your tongue, knowing you were talking about one of the sorest subjectsâ her sister. you frowned at her.
"i was just trying to tease, tara." you clarified. "it's okay, i won't judge you for it. i know sam's been overprotective recently."
tara seemed to back down from her anger when you said that. she just turned back to her phone as you turned back to your uneaten lunch.
you agreed to the party under the impression that it might be good for you and tara. it might be nice for her to get out of the house for once and spend time just being a young adult.
"i'll go as a cowboy." chad chimed into the conversation again. you had no idea what you were going to put together at the last minute.
"i'll throw together a pirate outfit." tara shrugged her shoulders, thinking back to her own closet.
"maybe i could be the parrot on your shoulder." you joked at her, she rolled her eyes at you with a small smile on her face.
"please don't." she laughed softly. you loved her laugh so much, and you loved being the reason for it. youâve grown to cherish those little slivers of happiness between the two of you.
âokay.â you retreated your statement. âiâll go as an angel.â you grinned. you had a dress waiting for you back home and some spare angel wings you used for a previous costume party.
đȘđ© đȘđ© đȘđ© đȘđ© đȘđ©
you were on your third drink of the night and had your arms around chad and ethan, singing the lyrics to sweet caroline. you three were swaying together on the dance floor.
mindy and anika looked over you three and rolled their eyes. itâs like they were meant to be.
you realised that your girlfriend was nowhere to be seen, that was concerning. sheâd usually be joining you three in your antics.
you turned around to see her at the drinks table, talking to a taller man in a white shirt. you recognized him from somewhere but you werenât entirely sure.
you opted to trust tara instead of the sinking gut feeling you had. she tended to get angry at you when you acted impulsively, you wanted to avoid that tonight.
you stepped away from the boys and made your way over to mindy and anika. you put your arm around mindy, you both had a great relationshipâ it was like you were her non-sibling twin flame.
"hey spoilsport. you suggested coming! why are you hiding all the way out here?" you asked her, leaning your head on her shoulder. you spotted a smile creep up her cheeks.
"because someone has to make sure all of you get home safe and sound." she poked your nose and you pulled your head back reflexively.
"that shouldn't stop you from having some fun with us too." you prodded more, trying to get her to loosen up.
however, mindy's point proved itself when you heard commotion come from the stairway. you turned your heads to see chad and tara along with the man in the white shirt by the staircase.
"holy fuck, is that frankie?" mindy asked.
it was like a jolt had electrified your entire body.
frankie.
you should have listened to that gut feeling. it got worse as you spotted tara by his side, his hand wrapped around her wrist.
you felt a fire rage in your belly and an overwhelming concern for tara. you made your way over only to already hear chad telling him off.
"what's going on?" you asked as you approached, standing shoulder to shoulder with chad.
ânone of your business.â tara spat out at you, you looked at her with worried eyes. you never provoked her when she was like this but you realised the gut feeling not only applied to frankie but also tara.
âchad.â you called the boyâs name out, indicating that you wanted an explanation.
âfrankie was trying to take tara upstairs for god knows what.â chad glared at the man a couple of steps above him.
your jaw clenched and fury filled your pupils.
âshe wanted it, dude.â frankie shot back, âshe asked me to.â
you looked over at tara only to see that she wasnât looking at you, she was looking down at the accumulating crowd.
âtara, surely not.â you said, almost pleading. it was a contrast to your angry stare.
she didnât respond.
she didnât say a word.
âbro, shut up. sheâs drunk and she isnât thinking straight.â chad fought back at frankie. you snapped out of your thoughts and looked over at the two men.
âheâs right. she isnât capable of making decisions. you have no right.â you said.
âwhatever.â frankie rolled his eyes and pulled tara up the stairs, causing the shorter girl to tumble.
chad snapped and grabbed frankie by the shirt, throwing him down the stairs. you immediately went to check on tara.
âhey, love. letâs get you up. are you okay?â you asked her but you were simply met with silence and her trying to yank her arm away from your touch. she helped herself up but not without struggling.
you watched the altercation between chad and frankie go down, the two boys shoving each other back and forth.
you looked over at tara. you had almost forgotten the look on her face when you asked her if she was really wanting to go upstairs with frankie. she was inebriated, she wasnât thinking clearly. she didnât mean itâ you could tell yourself that all you want but tara was never one to hide her emotionsâ especially if it was annoyance.
your thoughts were cut short when you saw sam carpenter walk straight in to the party.
fuck.
you couldnât zone in enough to hear their conversation from the stairs, but your eyes did enough when they saw sam tase frankieâs balls.
you almost laughed at the sight of the man falling to the floor, but you knew you had to do something.
you stepped in suddenly, holding the older carpenterâs shoulders.
âletâs go. we donât need any more trouble.â you thought you would be met with a scolding but sam simply nodded at you. she walked over to tara and helped her down the stairs, practically dragging her out of the party.
âsam, let me go!â your girlfriend protested. you followed behind the sisters along with chad, ethan, anika, and mindy.
tara managed to break herself free from samâs grasp when you were all outside on the street. you stopped in your tracks and it landed you beside sam.
âtara, really?!â sam yelled at her sister, âsneaking out?! i had to find out from quinn that you were here. what if something happened to you?!â
ânothing was gonna happen, sam!â tara rubbed the inner corners of her eyes, trying to wrap her head around the situation.
âreally?! cause i donât think that guy was gonna let you go easy!â sam gestured back to the house. âand what were you thinking?! you have a girlfriend.â
âoh please, she wonât care.â tara scoffed. you were standing right there, but it was like she looked straight through you. how could she say that about you?
âright.â sam stopped her before she could say anything else. âiâm taking you home.â she said. she turned around to you, making eye contact. your breath hitched in your throat. âand you too. câmon.â
you had to oblige, you werenât going to fight against an angry sam.
đȘđ© đȘđ© đȘđ© đȘđ© đȘđ©
the car ride was more eerie than silent.
despite the looming quiet, you looked over at tara in the rearview. she was staring outside the window in the backseat while you sat in the front. sam had forced her into the back, saying she didnât wanna get thrown up on.
you looked over at sam, her eyebrows furrowed as she drove you both back. you wondered what was happening in that head of hers. she had been through a lot too. her protective nature was a product of everything that had happened in woodsboro, you found your concern growing for her too.
you helped tara up to the apartment with sam. at one point, you gave up and decided to princess carry her. she protested at first but realised she had no other choice.
you put tara down on her bed, taking off the bandana that covered her hair. you went into her closet to grab some clothes for her, kneeling down about to help her.
she suddenly turned away from you.
âtara, please. letâs not fight.â you pleaded with her, wanting to get her comfortable more than anything.
âfighting is the only reason i stay with you.â she mumbled.
âwhat?â you looked up at her from your kneeling position, trying to help her take her shoes off.
âyouâre so nice all the time.â she glares at you. âyouâre too different from her.â
oh, her. you knew.
âbut i like controlling you. itâs almost too easy.â she had a venom-laced tongue tonight, the alcohol allowing the toxin to seep through your skin. âbut i feel absolutely nothing for you.â
you finally knew the reason for your fighting.
âi almost even hate you sometimes though.â she admitted. âi only said yes to going out with you cause we were in public. if it was anywhere else, i would have rejected you.â
you were silent, you were stunned.
âiâm too young to settle down too, yâknow?â she followed up, it was never-ending. ânothing was gonna happen with frankie. i knew betterâ heâs disgusting. but you had to end the fun when i was finally allowing myself to realise i had other options.â she scoffed.
her words didnât make sense to you. she wouldnât do that, she couldnât do that. surely she had some heart in her.
you felt disgusted with yourself. you stepped back and had to hold back from saying anything. it was late, they had another roommate who was asleep and sam was waiting for you in the living room to take you home.
when you stepped back, tara rolled into bed, pulling the covers to her chin. you stared at her, tears forming in your eyes from what she said.
you were being used.
and she played you like a fiddle.
you were dressed as an angel, which was ironic.
because tara would rather have the devil.
you had tried to be the best possible person for her. you took everything sheâs been to into consideration, always looking after her. but you realised she didnât want that, she wanted someone else.
you covered your mouth to stiffle sobs that threatened to escape your lips.
you walked out of her room only to nearly come crashing into sam, who was leaning on the wall by the doorway the whole time.
đȘđ© đȘđ© đȘđ© đȘđ© đȘđ©
sam had previously been in the kitchen, preparing a glass of water for tara. she realised you were taking a bit longer than she expected, she figured you fell asleep next to tara.
she knew the nature of your relationship with tara. she had to listen to taraâs entire thought process of saying yes to you asking her out. she even discouraged tara, letting her know that it wasnât fair to you.
but tara always had a mind of her own.
when she heard soft voices, she decided to come and check on the two of you. she stopped walking and listened in when she heard what you were talking about.
oh, she felt sick.
she felt sick hearing her younger sister say those words to you. she always cherished tara. she missed her sister that wasnât capable of hurting a fly but quickly let those thoughts go when she acknowledged that the girl that she cared for was gone.
she leaned against the wall and heard your footsteps quickly approach. she didnât expect you to almost crash into her, her hands flew to your waist, stabilising you.
she hadnât gotten a good look at you earlier, you were dressed as an angel. a part of her almost smiled at how pretty you looked. sam always thought you were pretty, her eyes werenât painted on.
âheyâŠâ she said, watching you wipe your tears away. âhere, take this.â the water meant for tara quickly changed ownership.
you declined the water, shaking your head and waving it away.
âplease. youâve been crying.â you hated that sam carpenter caught you in this state. you hoped to compose yourself before seeing her again.
âsam, itâs fine. letâs just go, please.â you brushed past her, she quickly turned and followed you out. she grabbed her jacket and her keys before following you downstairs.
đȘđ© đȘđ© đȘđ© đȘđ© đȘđ©
âyou didnât deserve that.â sam broke the silence. you slowly turned to her and just stared, you were still trying to find the words.
âsamâŠâ you started.
âno. it doesnât matter.â she interjected. âiâm sorry about tara.â
âitâs fine. i can handle it. she's right anyway."
âitâs not. and she isn't."
you felt yourself crawl back into your shell. the order in samâs voice, like she was a general, made you feel like you couldnât say a word.
âyou deserve better than her." she suddenly turned to look at you, her glare wasn't like tara's though. hers was more angry at you for saying those things about yourself.
"she's just stressed." you try to justify tara's actions. you still harboured feelings for the girl. it was going to be hard to see it any other way.
"don't try and do that." sam shook her head, pulling up outside your apartment. "you're a grown ass woman, you know better than to try and justify someone hurting you."
you'd never seen that side to sam before. she was always tara's timid older sister, a strong but silent type. you didn't expect to hear her suddenly standing up for you.
"i just need a night, sam." you didn't want to talk about it anymore, it was all too much for you.
"get some rest." she nodded at you while you pulled at the door handle, unlocking it and hopping out. you leaned down and poked your head back into the car.
"thank you for the ride home. i appreciate it. i'll see you soon."
sam nodded at you. "goodnight."
"goodnight, sam."
đȘđ© đȘđ© đȘđ© đȘđ© đȘđ©
tara thought her eyes were burning in the sunlight. she felt herself wither away as she was hit with a pounding headache.
her throat was dry but as she blinked away the exhaustion, she realised there was a glass of water by her bedside. she practically leapt for it, chugging it all in one go.
she was still in her clothes from last night. she got up to change into something more comfortable and take her make-up off. it was the weekend so she had nowhere to be, deciding to dedicate the free day to recovering from her wicked hangover.
she walked out of her room to see sam making breakfast. she could literally eat anything right now.
sam looked just as exhausted as her.
memories started flooding in from last night, the fight that ensued coming back to her
"jesus sam, no way you actually used a taser on someone last night." tara grumbled as she took her seat on the dining table.
"i absolutely did. and i'm not regretting it." sam retaliated, setting a plate down in front of tara. "eat up. you're gonna need the energy for today."
"why? what's today?" tara asked, already wolfing down the food in front of her.
"do you really not remember anything from last night?" sam asked her, sitting down beside her with her own plate of food.
tara shook her head which led to sam explaining what you two talked about that night.
tara was horrified. she felt so guilty. sure, she knew she didn't lie completely, but she knew you didn't need to hear that.
and it was too late to take it back now.
đȘđ© đȘđ© đȘđ© đȘđ© đȘđ©
five knocks woke you from your own slumber.
you groaned and pushed yourself off the mattress, glitter still coating your eyes from your costume last night. you immediately rolled into bed after changing last night.
you threw the door open, a frustrated look on your face.
tara.
oh, and sam around the corner.
sam shot you a sheepish wave, you waved back at her. you knew the only reason that tara was here was because sam brought her. while you appreciated the gesture, you knew there was only one way this was ending.
"you shouldn't have kept this going for as long as it did!"
you yelled at tara. you two had been going at it for ten minutes now, you were sure the entire apartment complex could hear the two of you. and you knew they could hear your heart breaking.
"what the fuck was i supposed to do?!" tara exclaimed back. "walk up to you and oh hey, i don't actually have any feelings for you?!"
"yes! exactly that." you shot back, scoffing and crossing your arms across your chest. "you should have been honest with me, tara."
"i couldn't. you... you were good for me." tara whispered, her anger subsiding. "you were kind and just what i needed after everything that happened. i thought that maybe i could grow to have feelings for you."
"you shouldn't have taken that chance. you basically lied to me for months." your posture straightened, your jaw tightening. "it wasn't fair."
"i know... i know..." tara said, trying to calm you a bit more. "i'm sorry."
"you know that sorry isn't gonna cut it, right tara?" you huffed, shaking your head at her. "we're done."
she stared at you for a beat, she didn't believe that you ended it. you were so quiet all the time, always kind and happy. you never took the initiative, she thought she would have to do it. to say you surprised her was an understatement.
"i understand." she nodded. "i'll go."
"yeah... you'd better." you weren't going to stop her, she was the last person you wanted to see.
you opened the door for her and saw sam avoiding your eyes around the corner.
đȘđ© đȘđ© đȘđ© đȘđ© đȘđ©
three weeks later, you hadn't seen much of your friends. you decided to be the one to keep your distance, you hadn't even seen mindy all that much.
it wasn't until you heard your phone buzz on a random friday morning that you realised that you were missing your dear friends.
"come over tonight, we're watching a movie." a text from mindy.
"we're?" you responded. you knew that mindy would pick up on what you were putting down.
"yes. tara will be there. but we haven't seen you in ages. i'll put you on seperate ends of the room." she typed quickly.
"okay. what time?" you missed your friends more than anything, it was worth seeing tara if it meant you got to see everyone else too.
"4 plus 3." mindy replied, you chucked your phone to the side and sighed. you had to spend the rest of the day psyching yourself up to face everyone again.
đȘđ© đȘđ© đȘđ© đȘđ© đȘđ©
you arrived at the twin's place at exactly seven sharp.
you walked in and saw that everyone else was already there, surrounding the television.
"bystanders reported seeing the killer with a black cloak and sporting the infamous ghostface mask."
oh no. oh no no no.
you knew all the stories, you'd seen what the killer had done to the carpenters and the twins. and you couldn't believe that he was back.
silence coated the walls of the room, everyone was too shocked to say anything.
tara ran out of the room into another area of the apartment, mindy and chad following behind her. sam walked out the door. you wanted to go after tara, but you thought you might make things worse in that sector. she already had the twins following her, and sam had nobody.
you trailed behind sam. she ran down the stairs, sitting down on the end step, her head falling into her hands. you slowly approached, sitting down on the end step beside her.
"i'm so sorry." you whispered, looking straight ahead.
"its never gonna fucking end." sam sobbed out, her fingers tangling into her hair.
you sat in silence, your palms flat on your lap. you didn't know if you should do anything or say anything.
"there's nothing i can say or do to make this better... but i hope you know, there's more of us now. no way in hell are we leaving you alone in all of this." you said, determined. "you aren't going to go through this alone, sam."
sam peeked her head out. your words were something she had heard before, but coming from you, she felt different about them. she knew you didn't know how to reassure her, you hadn't been through the same thing. you two only knew each other in passing, but she appreciated it.
she turned to you, and you turned to her.
this was the closest you two had been ever.
had she always been this beautiful?
had you?
you shook your head to shake away your thoughts, now was not the time. you could tell she was also trying to push her own thoughts away.
"thank you, i appreciate that." she whispered, a small but genuine smile flashed at you.
"do you want to sit here for a bit longer?" you asked her.
sam begun to think that tara was right. you were incredibly kind and considerate, you could read people like they were an open book. she nodded at you and you nodded back at her.
you two proceeded to sit in a comfortable silence.
you could hear thumping above you, knowing that the twin's apartment was active with stress and fear.
but you couldn't move. you had to be there for sam.
and you meant what you said.
no matter what, you weren't leaving.

author's journal i actually am also unsure about this set up for the series. i hope my writing gets better as it goes on but the set up was a bit rough to write and even read. but i promise better content soon yâall đ« i also would have written a longer drunken argument scene between tara & reader but i needed some sam emphasis, this might get edited in the future
on another note, okay yeah i have so much love for the carpenter sisters actually. this idea came to be out of nowhere when i was watching scream vi to fall asleep and i immediately told emma about it so everyone say ty emma ilysm liefje. she's had to deal with all my bullshit recently so this entire series is dedicated to her <3
another thing is heaps and heaps of credits to @shdysders one of my current favorite writers because the drunken argument scene is hella similar to theirs from one of their fics, if only (which you all should read btw.) thank you babes.
andddd let me know if you wanna get added to the taglist for this fic also and iâll be more than happy to oblige <3

ethan being bullied by reader everyday at school so when he finds her at a party he fucks her hard as revenge đ©·
MDNI
whimpers fell from your lips as you laid beneath ethan, his hips pushing into yours as his length practically impaled you.
ânot so confident now, huh?â he groaned from above you, hands finding place on your hips as he dug his nails into the soft skin.
âanswer me.â
ân-no,â you cried, your leg lifting to rest on his shoulder as he plunged himself deeper into you, balls slapping against your ass.
he set a brutal pace, already making you cum twice but feeling the need to pull a third from you.
you always went out of your way to tease and make fun of ethan, to his face and behind his back.
making fun of the nerd was cliche, you being the most popular girl in your gradeâalways so confident and full of yourself.
but right now, in this very moment being pounded into ethanâs mattress, you were far from confident.
you were a babbling mess under him, tears streaking down your face and lips parted as you practically thanked him for fucking you.
âthatâs right, such a slut for my dick. can already feel you tightening around me again.â
you nodded in response, feeling weak and lightheaded from the previous rounds before.
he suddenly leaned his body over yours, resting his weight on top as you gasped at the sudden angle change.
âbeg to come,â he grunted, lips crashing into yours before slipping his tongue into your warm mouth.
your eyes rolled to the back of your head as you muttered weakly, âplease l-let me come, p-please ethan ill be g-good.â
he laughed into your mouth, loving the feeling of being in complete power for once.
âmake yourself useful and cum on my dick.â

âł a pretty mouth       †ghostface x female!reader ă 18+ ONLY â Minors DNI ă warnings âą drinking, sexting, knife play, fingering, oral (m receiving), swearing, orgasm denial, pinning, mentions of blood/killing, degrading, â taking requests first part â»Â please respondâŠi showed you my cock
It had been days since any kind of attack or sign of ghostface. You almost believed he had disappeared, but it was still in the back of your mind. You never responded to his messages that he sent, and he never came to see you. Not that you really wanted him too.Â
He was psycho. But there was something about his voice and not knowing who was behind that mask that just made your stomach flip the right way round.Â
You had multiple missed phone calls from a private or blocked number. You had the upper hand for once.
†you canât ignore me †iâm not going to stop †you can try to shut me out, but iâll find a way to get back in †and when I do, iâm going to bury myself in that sweet pussy
His texts turned you on the more he sent them. All laced with dirty things you tried not to enjoy.Â
Clearly you needed to give him something to make him chase you harder. Your parents would start to get suspicious of the large water bills coming through, and the last thing you wanted to give up was your shower head time every night. You felt possessed almost, turning yourself on as you dreamt of him climbing through your window of the night, holding a knife to your throat as he fucked you in ways you havenât experienced before.Â
Your legs began to rub to get friction, you needed to stop putting these thoughts in your head. He was a serial killer. The last thing you needed was to be fucking the townâs killer who had threatened your life countless times as well.Â
When you finished school you went over to your friendâs house to get ready for a party that was happening over the weekend. All day you had multiple messages from him. Nothing new, that was until.Â
đȘ Gfce23 sent you a snapÂ
The purple box told you everything you needed to know. It was video, with audio. You excused yourself from her room, heading into the bathroom. Opening the video it was once again his cock in his gloved hand, his body more in view this time for you to get a better look. Eyeing over his pale skin.Â
âUghnfâthis is all for you.â Your clit throbbed at the sudden moaning that came from your phone. Walls tightening at his words. âThis is all for youâ. You licked your lips at the sight of the red tipped cock on your screen that thrusted into his leather glove.Â
âF-f-fuck y/n.â Hearing him say your name mixed with a whimper as he pumped himself, stomach flexing every time he gasped and his movements picked up just a little more. You found yourself with your fingers dancing between your legs again, toying with yourself. The video ended there. No big finish for you. Your flustered state calmed down when you returned to reality and remembered where you were.Â
âJesus, fuck!â You hissed, running fingers through your hair as you tried to finish getting ready. You knew it was wrong but you couldnât help lusting after him. Evening came finally and it was time to get drunk and enjoy your weekend. No school, no studying, no homework. Just alcohol and boys. Walking into the house it was already crazy, everyone dancing and rubbing themselves up against each other.Â
A few mindless games of spin the bottle, truth or dare, and many more kids games. You found the keg, pouring yourself a drink before feeling a tap on your shoulder. It was the same guy whose been chasing after you since the first grade.Â
âHey y/n, long time no see. Feel like we never talk anymore babe.â You cringed at the pet name he gave you. You liked princess better anyway.Â
âThatâs because we arenât even friends, I donât talk to people who arenât my friends.â You snipped back, walking away from the over-confident jock that didnât want to take no for an answer it seemed. You swung your head back and downed the drink in the red solo cup.Â
âLook, y/n. Just give me one chance and if you arenât into it then Iâll leave you alone.â He chased you. But not in a âIâm gonna kill youâ way that you for some reason missed. You felt bad that you never did give him the time of day, and the alcohol was already going to your head. So what was one dance? You allowed him to grab your hand and take you to where everyone else was dancing, rolling your hips against him and allowing yourself to just relax.Â
It was hard too when you were so sexually frustrated, after what felt like forever of dancing you found your friend. Letting her know you were leaving and going home, she was too busy dancing with a group of guys to care. You thought about walking home but chose to Uber instead.Â
It was just up the road but in your tipsy state, in a short skirt and with a killer on the loose? What could go wrong?Â
Your parents were once again gone for the night, using the time away to connect and get their marriage back on track. You didnât turn on the lights, leaving the house dark and making your way upstairs to your room. Opening the door you didnât know what you were expecting, but seeing it dark and just as you left it was disappointing. You walked over to your vanity, turning on the lamp and eyes looking into the reflective surface.Â
Your eyes shot open and you sobered up at the sight of a white mask and dark cloak leaning against your clothing dresser. Your heart began to race and you stood up, turning around to face the masked figure who had been on your mind day and night.Â
âSurprise princess.â His familiar voice had you buckling at the knees. You wanted to drop to them and suck the one thing he had been teasing you with the last few times you spoke.Â
âGet on the bed. Now.â A sharp piercing feeling was against your leg, looking down you saw the knife he held in his hand against the flesh of your exposed thigh. Hard enough to indent your skin but not to actually pierce you.Â
You nodded as you walked backwards, sitting on the soft surface and using your elbows to keep you elevated. Eyes looking into the dark black mesh that hid your mystery killerâs eyes.Â
âDonât think I didnât see you dancing tonight princess. Open your legs.â You did as you were told and audibly gulped. You never saw ghost face at the party, you wondered where he could have been for him to be able to watch you in such a crowded house. Your thigh was met with a cold, metal against it. His knife slowly dragging up from your knee all the way to the crease where your pubic region met your leg.Â
He looked down between your legs, eyeing off the cute short skirt and red panties you had on. The same ones he loved seeing you in when you first tried them on. He let out a low groan before swiftly flicking his wrist so his knife teared at the delicate lace.Â
$60, down the drain. But you didnât care. You just wanted to feel him against you, touching, rubbing, sucking. Your breath hitched as he lowered himself, the mattress dipping on each side of you as he positioned himself between your legs and removed the lacy garment blocking his view. He tilted his head to the side, muttering a âfuckâ as he saw your creamy hole gaping. How he wanted to fill it. His leather covered fingers reached out and began to rub at your wet folds, moving the creamy arousal over your clit and labia. Teasing your core with soft, slow touched. You gasped as he dipped a finger into your cunt, a thick ring of cream engulfing his finger as he entered you.Â
He began pumping, curling his finger each time to graze against your sensitive walls. You began letting out soft mewls at the sensations in the pit of your stomach. A sensation you had only been able to get from a shower head and your own touch. Without warning, he added another two fingers, thrusting harder and quicker now and watching your hips bucking to meet his every movement.Â
âLook at you, this pink pussy is aching to be touched. Iâve barely started and youâre almost unravelling under my fingers. How many can you take before I have you begging for more?â He hissed as he added his thumb to your clit, watching you let out a squealed whimper and jerk your body under his touch. He chuckled darkly at your reactions, watching your fingers grab at the blanket comforter underneath you.
Your orgasm was building quickly and you wanted to let go. But ghostface, had other plans for you. Before you could even mutter a âIâm gonna cumâ he removed himself completely. Hearing you almost cry from pain at the loss of pleasure.Â
âOh no, you donât get to cum yet princess.â You let out a whine at his words, squirming under his arms. He grabbed your wrists, pinning you to the bed and grinding his cock against your core. It was hard and only made you beg for more.Â
âI want to hear you say you wouldâve been honoured to have been killed by me. That it makes you wet and turned on that I could kill you right here, right now. And no one could stop me.â Excitement mixed with panic filled your stomach as you thought about how he would react if you didnât say it.Â
âIt turns me on, that Iâm so helpless and weak, that you could kill me right now and no one would help meâŠor stop you.â You had to admit to yourself sheepishly, that it was erotic.Â
âSuch a pretty princess, with a pretty pussy. And a pretty mouth. I think we should see how good it feels.â He pulled you to the floor with a loud thud, your wrists hurting from being held in place for so long. He undid the black cloak, the velcro ripping and revealing black jeans. His member pushing against the rough material just dying to get out.Â
You decided to unbutton his jeans and pull his dick out. It was just as you remembered, pink, swollen and veiny. His tip ached to be touched, a drip of precum oozing out his slit and and running towards the edge of his head. Your eyes met his mask, his hand came to your head and pushed his member past your lip and into the warm embrace of your mouth.Â
He moaned loudly for the first time, and it made you ache all over again. He thrusted his hips, fucking your throat feverishly and throwing his head back in pleasure. Muttering all kinds of vulgar words under his breath at the sensation he had been chasing since the first time he saw you. You gagged and coughed at the sharpness and uncomfortable feeling of him hitting the back of your throat.Â
Spittle running down the corners of your lips and chin as he relentlessly unleashed his strength onto you.Â
âFucking take it princess, donât forget how many people had to die for me to feel your pretty lips around my cock. Take it all. Fucking cock-slut.â His degrading words only sparked you to work his member harder, bobbing your heads in rhythm with him now and swirling your tongue around your mouth in no rhythm at all. He didnât chase his orgasm, your pussy was his endgame.Â
âOn the bed and get on your hands and knees.â He growled, annoyed at himself for not reaching his own high.Â
âWhat should I call you?â You asked innocently, big eyes batting at him as you stood to your feet and moved back onto the soft, plush mattress.Â
âCall me your master.â You moved onto your hands and knees, feels his gloved hands curl around your ankles and pull your legs further apart, in response you also arched your back even more.Â
âThis is gonna be fun.âÂ
