man, i love scrapbooking so much, ugh. finding random junk on the ground outside or just gathering stuff that were going straight inside a trash can and finding a new purpose for them is fun as hell (although some of these stuff in the pic, a.k.a the jennie pic, were brought for this exact purpose shhh 🤫)

Harry Houdini Scrapbook [Photographs with Jack London]

Physical description: scrapbook 

Summary: This remarkable scrapbook was compiled by Houdini’s good friend Quincy Kilby, a Brookline resident and Boston theater impresario. Materials in this large volume were collected over a twenty-year period and include personal letters, photographs, programs, newspapers clippings, and other unique memorabilia. Knowing that Kilby was amassing this collection, Houdini would send him items specifically “for your Houdini scraps book.”  

The scrapbook is open to an eclectic spread of photographs of Houdini with Jack London and their wives in Oakland, California, in 1924; a lecture advertisement in which Houdini promises a sensational expose of miracle-mongers; and a note on Houdini’s personal stationery to Kilby with an apologetic postscript, “I was in Boston but was so fixt could not get away. Only 1 night.”

I have this huge ass journal that has about 700+ pages and I had no idea what to put in it.

Today, I have decided to put EVERYTHING IN IT.

All the things.

I have so many scrap papers and stuff I found in old books that people were using as bookmarks.

I plan on taking more pics of wall art from bathrooms and sides of buildings that I see when I’m out and about.

Just toss it all in there!

Fuck it. I apparently Scrapbook now. This page is inspired by The Secret Garden (which is the only book i have read so far this year) the book pages in the background are from an oldish book that i found in the shed that mum didn’t want anymore (although she recently noticed i was using it and was like “😧 thats my book!!” as if she didn’t hand it to me to use. The pages I used actually mention the book by name and how the author became inspired to write said book so that was an exciting find. I handwrote the quote because I couldn’t find the letter stamps but i don’t hate my handwriting that much so its ok ig
