Favorite place to go on vacation? My favorite vacation is staycation in my bed. I don’t really like traveling and also I haven’t visited that many places...but I think I like Vienna the most

Tea or Coffee? And what kind? I like all kinds of fruit teas, peppermint tea or licorice root tea. When it comes to coffee it needs to be with sugar and milk (or cream)

What’s your favorite type of personality? I don’t know if I have a type...just people that are kind, interesting and funny without really trying and you just want to talk to them for hours

When was the last time you watched a show or movie on a TV? Looong time ago since I don’t have TV on dorm, but last time it was movie called Schneider vs Bax I watched it with my dad. It was really good!

Unpopular Opinion? Not sure if that’s unpopular but summer is the worst season

Are you scared of bugs? Not scared but they make me uncomfortable when they invade my privacy. I don’t mind them in the nature but I just don’t need them close

Do you like your height? Not at all! I wish I was few centimeters taller. But I’m not that worried about it since it’s something I can’t change, my whole family is short

What person inspires you the most? I really don’t know, I never thought about it...I bet there is someone but I just don’t know

What is a song that has made you cry? Many! Crying with a good song is my favorite Friday activity! Kings Crossing by Elliott Smith always makes me cry and last time I cried to Love’s The Only Way by Cage The Elephant

Cine al menguar la pandemia: Nr. 10

¿Es posible catapultar un filme partiendo desde el simple drama común de celos e infidelidades para llevarlo hasta el paroxismo de un thriller de proporciones cósmicas que incluye desternillantes apuntes anti-dogma?

La respuesta es sí. Es decir sí, siempre y cuando se tenga el ánimo dispuesto para lo irracional, lo cuasionírico, lo plenamente lúdico y para ir continuamente más allá de lo inesperado. Y siempre y cuando, además, el autor de tal filme lleve por nombre Alex van Warmerdam.

Francamente van Warmerdam se ha vuelto todo un maestro del absurdo, y su mano sensible se hace notar desde la dirección (y muchas veces desde la actuación) consolidando una carrera con obras insólitas, inclasificables, alejadas de la melindrosa seriedad del "cine de autor", aunque con todas las credenciales y los méritos del mismo.

Su nuevo opus "Nr. 10" es algo así, un filme fuera de lo ordinario que refleja ese estilo kamikaze ingenioso, bufo, extravagante, y del que no diré más porque cualquier descripción de la trama, adicional a lo que ya mencioné, me convertiría en un auténtico aguafiestas. Prefiero que todo aquél que alguna vez disfrutó como yo de "Abel", "De Noorderlingen", "Grimm", "Ober", "De laatste dagen van Emma Blank", "Borgman" o "Schneider vs. Bax", ingrese a este filme con la convicción de que va a ver algo de un calibre parecido (aunque a mí me sigue gustando "Borgman" por sobre todas) o en todo caso, si es un neófito en el tema de Alex van Warmerdam, que vaya con una mente totalmente virginal de preconceptos.

En cualquiera de los dos casos, y cualquiera que sea la evaluación final de cada quien, me atrevo a augurar que nadie quedará indiferente ante esto, porque "Nr. 10" empuja siempre hacia lo improbable, quizá con ciertos conceptos que pueden parecer algo guarros, pero que dan la impresión de ser absolutamente conscientes de su guarrez, y por lo tanto se elevan sobre ella, manejando una calidad artística inmejorable, y ciertamente inimitable.

Y cuando un autor como Alex van Warmerdam es capaz de proyectar en su obra un meta-universo inconcebible a partir de situaciones comunes y mundanas para terminar por articular una misteriosa fantasía (literalmente) que me absorve lo mismo que me sorprende, no tengo más que quitarme el sombrero ante un director que no tiene miedo de saltar al vacío… ¡Te saludo con respeto, Alex van Warmerdam!

Черный юмор по-вармердамски, иногда за ним угадывается какой-то смысл, и тогда его очень даже можно смотреть, иногда нет. Это еще зависит от состояния левой ноги зрителя. Здесь - да, угадывается, и смотреть очень даже можно, хотя сформулировать этот смысл не в состоянии ни левая нога, ни головной мозг. Нужно еще отметить отличную актрису Марию Краакман - такая динамика не всем под силу.

Stiekem steeds meer verliefd op de Nederlandse film!

Lang zijn wij kritisch geweest op de Nederlandse film. Sinds vorig jaar lijkt daar verandering in te komen. In ons top tien lijstje van 2016 stonden bijvoorbeeld al twee Nederlandse films, maar ook dit jaar hebben wij al een paar meer dan alleraardigste Nederlandse films gezien. The set-up was promising, two contract killers portrayed as people like you and me, family men with the kind of problems you sometimes have when family life interferes with the job. There are a number of funny scenes ("He's a child killer"), but it never reaches the absurdity of for example a Coen Brothers movie. It felt more like a farcical stage play with too much slapstick and coincidences, and too many people suddenly coming and going (the daughter suddenly goes from being depressed to highly energetic and full of life).

Halfway through I wondered if maybe it should be seen as a collection of every bad thriller movie cliché. But even that thought wasn't enough to get me back in.
