SilkWing tribe sheet!
hey, sorry this took so long. i've been pretty busy. but now there's just one more to go! hope you like the silkwings :)
again, sorry for the color quality. same issue as with the skywings. they look a lot less dull on my end.
Physical Appearance + Traits:
-Like HiveWings’ appearance resembling bees and wasps, SilkWings have the striking traits of butterflies and moths. They have long bodies, large flat wings, bright coloration, and antennae. They are known for being shy and passive.
-SilkWings, uniquely, can be hatched with any coloration under the sun. They are fond of bright colors, and this is reflected in their scales.
-They are approximately average size when compared to Pyrrhian tribes - next to HiveWings, they are noticeably larger, mostly due to their enormous wings. These wings, like butterflies, allow SilkWings to fly, but in a somewhat sporadic way - they cannot glide straight like nearly every other tribe, and wind drafts can easily throw them off-course. They also don’t get their wings until they are 6 years old and undergo metamorphosis - until then, they are wingless.
-Another thing SilkWings gain in metamorphosis is their silk. Glands on their wrists can produce fine, strong strands of it, silvery in color like that of a spider. They use it to build the webs between the hives, which serve as their homes. They also use it to weave tapestries, clothing and other items. A few SilkWings are born with Flanesilk, which comes in multiple forms: firefly silk, which gives off faint light; glow silk, which glows and is warm to the touch; blaze silk, which glows brightly and burns; and sun silk, which hurts to look at directly and can cause extreme fire damage.
-SilkWings are born with a small extra set of limbs, set behind their front legs. These small arms are used to help control and manipulate silk while the arm in front of them produces it; this way, a dragon can still be standing on three legs even while weaving if they really need to be.
-These dragons also have antennae, used to detect subtle vibrations in the air, which can be curled up when not in use or unfurled when they are needed. They can be thin and wiry or huge and feathery, depending on the dragon. Antennae, especially when large and brightly-colored, are sometimes seen as a mark of power and status among SilkWings, and around HiveWings they are encouraged to keep them coiled up and hidden, in order to appear submissive and respectful.
Life Cycle:
-SilkWings lay clutches of 2-6 eggs, quite few when compared to HiveWings. Before their takeover, the tribe would bring up dragonets communally, but parents would still be involved in their dragonets’ lives, and get to watch them grow up. Living in the hives, however, SilkWing parents live with their dragonets and do everything they can to raise them, although all dragonets would attend a HiveWing-run school. If a SilkWing dragonet cannot be taken care of by its parents, it would be raised by HiveWings, and usually with less care and respect.
-SilkWings hatch small and wingless but extremely hungry. During their first few days, they eat more than any other dragonets, and grow remarkably quickly. Their appetite, and growth, slows down after about a month, at which point they are nearly three times their original size. From there, they grow somewhat normally.
-In the SilkWing kingdom, region-wide educational lessons would be held every day. Dragonets would be expected to attend, but adults could too if they so desired. The process was far less standardized and systematic. Living with the HiveWings, though, SilkWing dragonets attend school separate from the HiveWing dragonets (but still run by HiveWings), where everything is strictly organized and scheduled, and usually not in the SilkWings’ favor.
-Of all the tribes in which parents do not strictly raise their own dragonets, SilkWings are the only one in which dragons form partnerships for life. They do not shy away from romantic relationships, but they do have a habit of pursuing them slowly and carefully. They hate nothing more than to have to cut off a blooming relationship.
Society + Culture:
-SilkWings, generally, are considered pacifist and unassertive. Though this is a stereotype, it is not entirely untrue. Their culture does not glorify fighting over peace, and barring flamesilks, they have no unique natural weapons at their disposal. The SilkWing crown passes peacefully from mother to eldest daughter, niece or sister (in that order) in a method completely unique to their tribe.
-Silk is deeply important to their culture; weavings, tapestries, and accessories ranging from cloaks to scarves to legbands are finely crafted and sometimes dyed. Before the Tree Wars, they lived alongside the LeafWings and built their webs in the tree canopies.
-After the Tree Wars, when HiveWings became the dominant tribe, SilkWings had the expectation placed on them that they were quiet, gentle, subservient and unintelligent when compared to HiveWings. Breaking this pattern, and being in any way brash, inflammatory or aggressive leads to much harsher and crueler treatment.
-While in reality they are really not much bigger than HiveWings, SilkWings’ longer bodies and necks, larger wings and long antennae make them appear quite a bit bigger. In order to avoid harassment from guards, they are generally expected to hold their heads low, walk somewhat slowly and keep their wings folded on their backs.
-Before their takeover, SilkWings were actually quite technologically advanced. They had complex silk-weaving techniques and had many uses for the powerful material. The existence of Flamesilks also gave them fire, which makes them the only Pantalan tribes to naturally have it, and they used it to create glass, cook food and keep their webs gently lit at night with firefly silk, though they never cared to dabble in metalwork. (A lot of their ideas and progress in this area, alongside the actual Flamesilks, were stolen by HiveWings during the Tree Wars.)
-SilkWing beauty standards vary depending on the year and season, but in general, bright, bold and unnatural colors are considered the most beautiful and impressive, and wings with bold and intricate patterning are the most striking.
-Their diets need to be carefully balanced between sugar and protein, as they don’t eat meat and rely on specific plants. HiveWings’ attempts to provide them with proper food are usually clumsy, and they usually need to buy food themselves from specific vendors. This discrepancy is part of the reason SilkWings tend to be poorer than HiveWings, on top of being regarded as lower-status.
-Metamorphosis is a hugely important staple in SilkWing culture; they transform in a number of days from wingless and silkless dragonets to flying, silk-spinning adults. The transition is greatly anticipated by all young SilkWings, who will excitedly discuss what their wings might look like and plan all the tapestries they hope to weave. The Hives allow newly-metamorphosed SilkWings one day to one week (depending on the Hive) to celebrate and practice flying before assigning them to their career path or next branch of education for those who are lucky.
Diet: Herbivorous. SilkWings are the only obligate herbivores among dragons. They don’t hunt or eat meat, and could not properly digest it if they tried. They eat a variety of leaves from a variety of plants, including milkweed, parsley and some tree leaves. They also eat roots and stems from some plants, on occasion. Finally, they require some amount of sugar to maintain their energy levels; like HiveWings, they use sugar water, honey, and other treats. (They don’t very often eat fruit, but they will out of necessity if their sugar levels drop too low).

trying to get my head around this subclassification debate but prima facie this is the most damaging supreme court ruling in india. saying reservations can be reconsidered based on subcastes instead of only caste status is the easiest way to send dalit politics headlong into worse sectarian short termism. more damaging is the possibility of granting to upper castes an opening to deny benefits. brahmins on panels to delay and deny affirmative action appointments on the basis of unsuitability of the subcaste of an applicant bc what if another more oppressed hypothetical exists.

As Predicted, Anti-Drag Laws Are Being Weaponized to Silence Trans People | The Mary Sue
A few months ago, Adria Jawort and others testified before the Montana legislature that its law banning drag events at public libraries would be used to target and silence transgender people. Just as she and others anticipated, it’s now being used to bar her from speaking about LGBTQ+ history.
Jawort, a Cheyenne writer and transgender woman, had been scheduled to speak at Butte-Silver Bow Public Library about the history of the two-spirit tradition in Native American culture. “Two-spirit” is an indigenous term for the alternative gender status of tribe members who have both male and female traits, a fascinating example of how trans and nonbinary people have always existed in all cultures and societies. The library canceled her talk—again, a history lecture, not a drag show—out of fear that they would run afoul of the state’s new anti-drag law and risk losing their public funding.

The Emissary Deer
summary:
After whatever mess the world ended up in when werewolves became known to the human kind, both species split in civilization and tribes, both keeping the other away. Stiles wanted nothing more than to be in Derek's tribe after he had seen a black wolf in the woods once and he'd be more than capable to enter the alpha's pack by any means necessary, without much regard for what it would mean for his body, what aspects of his life would change because of it and what he would be leaving behind.
But the world was long gone, his heart was set and even more, so was Derek's, who wasn't going to deny either of them of their love.

oh oh oh, i should probably go touch some grass after this given it wasnt scheduled anyhow and it just wrote itself to its own accord, but i did enjoyed this so i'll probably write more of this sort of 'genre' in the future, maybe mixed with some more complex (or actually existing from the principle) plots, either way, it was a fun ride and also one that was way out my comfort zone based on what i've written so far, so ig i'll see if y'all like it or not (either way, i really do)
and and and, @jadezdominion here goes another work, i hope to know what you think of it, while i also hope it might be interesting for @dontcallpanic, but still, i guess i'll wait to see what you'll think
anyway, thank you thank you thank you for supporting me along this writing journey and wish you a wonderful reading time!

SeaWings - The Vast Tribe of Pyrrhia
SeaWings are not under one kingdom, instead there are three known as the Three Tides Kingdoms. The first kingdom is the Reef Tide Kingdom, the SeaWings there are brighter and smaller, and are more likely to have odd coloring (ie red or orange), Reef SeaWings are said to be friendly and open. The Sea Tide Kingdom is the SeaWing’s we’re used to seeing, these variants have normal coloring and little color differences. The Deep Tide Kingdom is less of a kingdom and more of a settlement of SeaWings that have adapted to higher pressure, they do not have wings, have darker coloring, and are larger than other SeaWings.
Appearance - Traditionally, SeaWings are shades of blue, green and occasionally purple, although Reef Tide SeaWings can be just about any color in any amount. Their limbs are shorter and thicker, their wings are more built for swimming than flying, and they have glowing scales along almost every limb.
Culture - Reef Tide SeaWings are very festive, they often decorate their scales with shells and sea glass, their leader, Hermit, is known to be very wise yet carefree. Sea Tide SeaWings are far more regal and uniform (they could be compared to canon IceWings except a bit less strict). The kingdom is full of cleverly crafted statues, due to the SeaWings often being artistic. Not much is known about the Deep Tide SeaWings, other than they cannot enter shallower waters easily, and that they are far more serpentine than other SeaWings.
Abilities - SeaWings are very powerful and fast swimmers, they can breathe underwater, see in the dark, and have a great sense of smell. They have glowing scales along their body which they can use to communicate, and their tails are powerful enough to create “waves”
The SeaWing queen, Mariana, is very anxious due to news of assassination attempts across other kingdoms, alongside the mysterious death of her own sister, and oftentimes she refuses to leave the Sea Palace and sends ambassadors in her place to any official meetings.
Other lore bits: (may be late to update these are scheduled)
MudWings
RainWings
NightWings
SandWings
IceWings
SkyWings
MistWings
SwiftWings

Main Story Ep. 2 / Part 2 / Chapter 1 - Witch's Fortune-Telling
Prev | All | Next
[Northwest Tower, Nearby Forest]
Woman in black: "......"
Berrien: "This way, my lord."
I got off the carriage as Berrien prompted me to.
Woman in black: "You arrived earlier than scheduled, Berrien."
Berrien: "Yes. The journey went smoothly."
Muu: "She seems to be Mr. Berrien's acquaintance."
Woman in black: "This fellow is…?"
Berrien: "Yes, this is our lord."
Woman in black: "I see… Nice to meet you... Lord of the Devil Butler. I am Elvira of the witch tribe."
> "H-hello… Ms. Elvira"
Muu: "I've seen her in the city before!"
Elvira: "Oh? A talking cat? Whose familiar are you?"
Muu: "What!? Familiar?"
Elvira: "Because you are a cat, yet you speak…"
Muu: "I feel like we had this conversation before, when we met on the street."
Berrien: "My lord, allow me to explain. The old tower lies further north from here, nestled at the foot of a snowy mountain... It happens to be the witch tribe's territory."
> "I see…"
Berrien: "We need permission from the witch tribe to enter. This time we have informed them in advance, so we've received permission."
> "So that's how it works"
I had heard about the witch tribe from Nac before. They reside in a small town in the northern land… It is said that there are only women in that town.
Elvira: "This is the gateway to our land. Nevertheless…"
*Close-up* Trudge… trudge…
After saying that, Elvira walked up to me.
Elvira: "I've heard you stopped a butler's demonization… Did you… really do it?"
> "P-probably... I did…"
Elvira: "Please show me your hand for a moment."
"S-sure…"
Elvira is looking at my hand.
Elvira: "Hmm… I see... Well, you must be tired from the long journey."
> "E-err…"
Elvira: "Please rest here for a while."
> (I wonder why she examined my hand?)
Elvira: "That being said, this is just a small village that acts as a gateway and a stop for travelers…"
Berrien: "It's also time for the horses to rest... We'll take you up on your offer for a break."
> "Yeah" > "That's right"
Scout Leader: "Our scout team will be waiting outside the town. The witch tribe is full of mystery... We don't know what they'll do to us."
Elvira: "I see... I see... Please proceed as you wish... Now, let me guide you to the village, devil butlers and their lord."
> "Thank you"
Elvira: "Oh, before we continue…"
~ A few moments later ~
Lato: "Hm… this is so flowy."
Boschi: "It's hard to move in this…"
Haures: "The clothing looks so thin, but surprisingly it's not cold at all."
Miyaji: "Luckily there's a size that fits me."
Lucas: "Fufu ♪ What do you think? How do I look? My lord?"
> "Everyone looks great in these"
Berrien: "It suits you perfectly as well, my lord."
> "Thank you"
Berrien: "This attire signifies our status as guests. The witch tribe is cautious. Those permitted to enter must prove their safety by wearing these clothes."
Muu: "Um... what about me?"
Elvira: "You're a cat, so it's fine. Humans are the dangerous ones."
Muu: "I-I see… I wanted to try wearing the white outfit."
Elvira: "Fufu... Well, then… Welcome to Agnome, the border village. We welcome you, devil butlers and their lord…"
Trudge… trudge…
[Border Village Agnome]
Lato: "Hmm… I was excited when I heard that it was a witch's village, but… it's surprisingly ordinary. I also heard that witches use magic to fly in the sky… I see no sign of that."
Elvira: "We respect magic and handle it with care. It's not for casual use."
Boschi: "Huh… is that so?"
Elvira: "Now then… I'm sorry for the sudden change, but... Would Berrien and his lord come with me? I would like to hear about a lot of things."
Berrien: "Understood. Shall we, my lord?"
> "Yeah, okay"
We followed Elvira to a room.
[Elvira's Room]
Elvira: "Come in, Berrien. And the Lord of the Devil Butler... Please, take a seat there."
The room we were taken to was filled with peculiar items. Items that look like magic tools are scattered around.
> (This is very witch-like...)
And among them, I found something familiar. The painting depicted a man with black wings, weeping and praying.
> (That painting is in the mansion too...)
Elvira: "Here you are, enjoy this soup. Please warm up your cold body."
> "Thank you"
Elvira: "Now… I've heard about changes among the angels."
Berrien: "Yes... About that…"
Berrien explained to Elvira about the intelligent angel.
Elvira: "I see… that's concerning. Thank you for the detailed information. I'll report this to our village."
Berrien: "Thank you for your cooperation."
Elvira: "Hmmm…"
After saying that, Elvira spread a parchment on the desk. It has incomprehensible language and figures drawn on it.
Atop the parchment were crystals of various sizes and colors. Crow feathers, small animal bones, and white sand was placed offhandedly.
> (I-is this divination?)
Elvira: "Hm… This is a tragedy. Sadly… It looks like there will be numerous deaths again."
> "N-numerous deaths?"
Elvira: "Well… That is just what my fortune-telling says."
After saying that, she casually moved the crystals on the parchment again.
Elvira: "I see… As expected, it's true."
> (What is that fortune-telling for, this time?)
Elvira: "Dear lord… I entrust the fate of the butlers to you. The butlers' destiny will change greatly, at your discretion..."
> "My discretion?" > "The butlers' fate?"
Elvira: "Yes… Whether the butler lives or dies… It's up to you."
> "U-uhm… what should I say…"
Elvira: "Well… That's just what my fortune-telling says."
> "I-I see"
After spending some time there, we left the village once the horses were rested.
note: Agnaum and Agnome both qualify for the katakana. Unlike Sardis and Espoir which show plausible etymology though, Agnome shows Azelf and nothing relevant for Agnaum, so yeah.
Agnome could be agnostic + gnome/genome and Agnaum could be agnostic + traum, and apparently Agnum (unsuitable katakana) means lamb

You have fans!! lol. The whole above thread right til she calls you crazy here:
https://x.com/NataRomanovaBW/status/1800428808186872271
I guess they are ignoring that originally (on production sites) it was listed as filming April 8, 2024 - August 22, 2024.
Do they think you pulled those dates out of your ass? I literally have a screenshot with the working title and everything lol. Just because THEY aren't informed, doesn't mean we aren't.
And they did push back GenV filming (only slightly) after Chance's death so it's possible TB got pushed back as well, but they were originally scheduled to film pretty much concurrently - probably so they can have crossovers, tie together storylines, etc. while they have ALL the cast in one location for shooting vs filming them at different times and calling back cast to film cameos. So more than likely even if TB filming got pushed back as well, they are still probably back right now. These people forget exactly how tightlipped TB filming is (and no, I don't mean no phones on set, they very very clearly have phones on set) and they aren't even really allowed to straight up say they are working on the show or show things from the show.
The huge thing they are ignoring is that maybe the reason Karl is filming something different is because he either isn't in s5 or is in s5 in a limited capacity. His new movie is an Amazon production as well, so they obviously allowed him to do it and the schedules are clearly ok with them.
Of course these are the same people who think SB/Jensen is the star of TB with a whole 12 minutes screentime and now an unconscious cameo in s4!
Link and Link. Everything you say is likely true, regarding why the casts are told to be quiet since their presence (or lack of it) in season 5 could be major spoilers for season 4 when it premiers in 2 days and it's finale on July 18.
Some fans will stalk sets to see if particular actors are seen on set, which will give them clues if the actors' characters live or not in upcoming episodes. Some studios attempt to circumvent these fans by having actors show up on sets as decoys when their characters are actually not in the episode. Games of Thrones were known to apply this tactic, but it's often not used because it cost money to hire and transport decoys.
Anyways, I just posted The Boys S5 film schedule from ProductionList to help AAs stop giving themselves funny aneurysm. AAs and hellers work in organized groups that function like a call-center set up to manipulate the conversation by inundating forums and social media with conspiracy theories that are conveniently not based on fact but feelings. Perfect for cult leaders like Goob, so he just slid right in as “one of them” and manipulate the conversation with even bigger and wilder conspiracy theories. When even AAs/hellers were doubting Goob's words, he says they’re too dumb to understand what he writes, especially when his writings contradict himself. So he writes even bigger and wilder conspiracy theories.
Remember kids, your vibe attracts your tribe. There is a very good reason why you never/rarely see such psychotic behavior from Jared's fans.

Legend of Zelda Theme Park - Gerudo Desert
At long last, I've found a way to add the desert to my theme park!
At the western end of the Dark World is the entrance to a sandstone canyon which meanders a bit and then debouches onto a lively bazaar. Buildings are constructed from off-white masonry contrasting with brilliantly colored fabrics and mosaics. There are numerous planters containing palm trees and cacti to help direct foot traffic as well as providing bench space and extra shade. Near the center of the plaza is a circular fountain featuring a statue of a woman wielding a sword, surrounded by more vegetation. The outside edge of the area is bounded with facades representing sand dunes, among which can be seen landmarks such as the OoT Desert Colossus and BoTW Gerudo Town. From time to time, an animated figure of a Molduga arches from one sand dune to another like a breaching whale.
Attractions
Nabooru’s Training Course: A combination maze and obstacle course—periodically, the winding corridors offer an opportunity to hone your skills as an elite bandit…but if you don’t feel up to tackling the balance beam, overhead bars, crawl net, or other physical challenge, a normal path continues alongside the obstacle. This is just the beginners’ course—from time to time, you can peek through to a more advanced course where Gerudo make trapeze-caliber leaps over jets of fire, dodge flying darts, and disable booby traps (or fail to do so!). At the end of the maze is a playground featuring more things to climb and jump in, just in case you had any excess energy left.
Gerudo Warriors’ Procession: Taking place at scheduled intervals in the bazaar, a squad of the Gerudo tribe’s most impressive warriors parade through the street to a stage where they demonstrate some of their combat skills.
Skipper’s Time-Shifted Boat Tour: Inspired by the Lanayru Sand Sea from Skyward Sword, this dark ride uses projection mapping, augmented reality goggles, and a bit of motion simulation to create the illusion of riding in a boat through a desert that has been transformed into an ancient ocean, but only in a set radius around the craft thanks to the aura of the Timeshift Stone. Fantastic corals appear and disappear, long-decayed ships spring back into operation only to wither again as the boat leaves them behind, the bleached bones of sea monsters turn into living threats until the robot guide manages to outrun them. The queue includes a few interactive “windows” where the push of a button activates a Timeshift Stone to alter a scene—a massive tree reverts to a tiny sapling in a meadow, a crumbled ruin becomes a bustling fortress in its heyday, etc.
Sand-Seal Rally Race: A high-speed ride along a figure-eight racing track, in a seal-drawn “sand sled.” Watch out when you get to the crossing point—don’t crash with another sled!
Shops
5. Silken Palace: Scarves, shawls, capelets, veils, and other free-flowing clothing and accessories made from scrumptiously colored and patterned fabrics…even sarees! Knowledgeable staff can show how to properly put on your purchases if you need help.
6. Hotel Oasis Spa Shop: A health and beauty shop featuring LoZ-inspired makeup palettes, custom-blended perfumes and colognes, bath salts, soaps, scrubs, massage oils, and other products to pamper your skin after a long day in the desert.
7. Starlight Memories: A jewelry boutique specializing in big, showy styles of earrings, bracelets, necklaces, brooches, and even diadems. Many pieces are inspired by the traditional jewelry styles of the Middle East and South Asia.
8. Sand-Seal Adoption Center: The Sand-Seal Rally Race exits through this shop specializing in plush toys of sand seals and other desert creatures both real and fanciful, with an optional “adoption ceremony” for your special new friend.
9. Miscellaneous Merchandise Booths: Small spaces leased out to small business retailers whose wares are in line with the overall “vibe” of the Bazaar.
Eateries
10. Gerudo Bistro: A café with well-shaded patio seating, featuring a menu of Mediterranean and Middle Eastern entrees and appetizers.
11. Arbiter’s Grounds: An Arabian/Persian/Turkish style coffee and tea bar, harking back to the ancient relationship with coffee enjoyed by the cultures that inspired the Gerudo. Brews are available hot, iced, flavored, even blended with ice cream for a perky smoothie. Or head next door…
12. Kara Kara Creamery: Beat the heat with frozen treats! Ice cream, frozen yogurt, sherbet, milkshakes, and smoothies are all available here, made to order. If you’re with a group, try the Seven Heroines Sundae, with seven “orbs” of different flavors reflecting the virtues prized by the Gerudo: skill, spirit, endurance, knowledge, flight, motion, and gentleness.

the birth charts of avatar, the last airbender: 🌀
since i was rewatching ATLA, i decided to do a little thread on the main characters and what i think their natal placements are !!
AANG:
gemini sun: aang is intelligent, curious, observant, and values the humors of life. he’s also shown to have a strong bond with his mentor, monk gyatso (as gemini is the sign of instruction)
libra moon: he is a highly diplomatic person and he likes to confer with others before making important decisions. he likes to rely on the advice of others and later in the saga, becomes one of the first councilmen of republic city
cancer mercury: aang is big on meditation and regularly encourages people to meditate so they can make more gentle, unaggressive choices. he’s also very fond of animals, as he is vegetarian and has two pets of his own
leo venus: aang has a very childlike, playful personality in both installments of the saga and he often emphasizes the importance of having fun
libra mars: pacifism and non-violence are the most important principles that aang sticks to over the entire series. as libra represents the scales, he works hard to maintain the balance of the world
KATARA:
pisces sun: sympathetic, imaginative, and talented at healing; she embodies the piscean archetype with her compassionate and forgiving nature. at the time of her mother’s death, she’s the only person in the southern water tribe to have the ability to waterbend (pisces governs isolation)
virgo moon: she takes on the role of a mentor at a young age while she, herself, is in the process of mastering waterbending. katara is also known in the group to be a bit critical and maternal
aquarius mercury: katara strongly values friendship and cooperation; she expresses several times that having the team function smoothly is important to her. she becomes quickly gifted at waterbending in the show too
aries venus: several scenes depict her interest in fashion and getting dressed up for different events. she also has a way of smoothing over conflict easily because of her desire to work with others
cancer mars: despite her tendency to take things personally, she will always go out of her way to help those in need, even when it inconveniences her. she is relentlessly protective of her family and the people she loves
SOKKA:
cancer sun: sokka cares a lot about what his father thinks of him and the impact he has on the southern water tribe as a whole. being able to remain strong and support his loved ones is a big priority for him
sagittarius moon: sokka is direct, confident, unafraid to be argumentative, and consistently leads team avatar in their journeys throughout the show
gemini mercury: he’s talkative, sarcastic, quick-witted, and has constant one-liners in the show; describing himself as “a guy who likes comedy.” he also has a special skill for handheld weapons (like his boomerang)
leo venus: he’s quite musical throughout the series; singing often and playing several instruments. he’s also depicted to be somewhat of a glutton and a romantic
capricorn mars: sokka is incredibly resourceful and preparative (as seen by his schedule in the painted lady episode). later in the show, he also masters swordfighting and his prized weapon is made of a meteorite he forged himself
TOPH:
pisces sun: she has a talent for deceiving people; she has a whole alternate life where she’s famous for her championship in earthbending matches. aang first sees her in a dream too, approaching her because of her ability to listen well
capricorn moon: her family is prominent and wealthy, but very controlling. she also talks with sokka about her need to come off as resilient, unemotional, and unreliant of others
aries mercury: toph is a talented, quick-tempered martial artist and often enjoys insulting people while fighting them — she entertains herself with combat. she also has a very aggressive style of teaching (as seen when training aang and korra)
capricorn venus: toph uses her family’s status to assist others and she repeatedly expresses her distaste for being hugged over the saga. despite her wealth, she shows her love for the simple life by sleeping on the ground in an earth tent, packing light, living in a swamp, etc.
aquarius mars: her mars is ruled by saturn, the planet of metal and blindness. she literally invents a new form of bending (metalbending) because she uses earth to see and navigate the world — her discovery and everlasting impact on the world is certainly aquarian
ZUKO:
aries sun: zuko is a remarkably determined person and he can be pretty hot-headed at the beginning of the show. not to mention the scar that covers his eye and part of his face
scorpio moon: he’s shown to have an extremely difficult relationship with his other family members and he’s quite private about what goes on internally. he also goes from wanting to capture aang to becoming his best friend (scorpio is the sign of extremes)
pisces mercury: across the series, the wisdom and patience he gains improve his tactical skills. he also has somewhat of a ‘speak when spoken to’ personality and plans his conversations out
pisces venus: even though he has a frigid exterior, zuko can be a very apologetic and understanding person. later in the show, you can see how his values shift towards peace, kindness, and harmony
gemini mars: the primary conflict that begins his character arc is his banishment for talking back to his father — he tends to shoot himself in the foot because of his impatience and what he says to people
AZULA:
virgo sun: azula is ferociously perfectionistic and needs everything to go her way — she can’t stand weakness or inefficiency and hates when her plans are interrupted
capricorn moon: being the princess of the fire nation, she enjoys power, control, order, and being a symbol of excellence. despite her hardworking attitude and desire to please her parents, she still feels disconnected from them emotionally
leo mercury: azula constantly shows an ambition to outdo her brother. being better than zuko is very important to her in the series and it clearly satisfies her when she can outperform him
libra venus: several moments in the series suggest that she loves being pampered and really indulges in her royal life of luxury. azula is almost always seen wearing jewelry or royal attire
leo mars: she’s driven by achievement and loves an opportunity to show off her abilities in combat. she has a tendency of putting her friends above her family, reacting mercilessly to anyone who disrespects them
IROH:
taurus sun: iroh is sincere, patient, charming, and humorous in tense situations. he loves providing for others; most notably, becoming a surrogate father for zuko after losing his own son
pisces moon: out of any bender in the series, iroh is particularly tapped into his spiritual power and acts as a spiritual guide for many other characters. redemption and the correction of his own mistakes are very important to him during the show too
gemini mercury: across the series, iroh can be strikingly persuasive, insightful, and commanding. he readily shares his guidance with others when he feels they’re in need of it and he’s also one of the few characters in the saga who mentors multiple avatars (as gemini represents multiples)
taurus venus: not only is he great at making tea, he’s also talented at playing the tsungi horn and pai sho. his love for art and relaxation are very taurean traits of his as well
sagittarius mars: iroh is an exceptionally powerful bender and one of the most respected members of the white lotus. he’s the only character in the saga to destroy the walls of ba sing se multiple times and one of the few who can actually breathe fire
book a reading !!

[Nikkei is Japanese Private Media]
the civil war continues in peripheral areas between the Imphal Valley and the hills, despite recent assurances from Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi that the "sun of peace" would soon rise in Manipur. From Aug. 29 through this past weekend, buffer zones separating the communities saw heavy shooting and shelling, killing at least eight and injuring more. On Wednesday, a Meitei crowd clashed with the state police, after a Meitei civil society organization called for a public march to remove barricades put up by central forces at the border of a Kuki-Zo district in Churachandpur. Thirty were reportedly injured.
The conflict first erupted in early May after a rally by the Kuki-Zo and Naga tribal groups, protesting a court order to grant the Meiteis Scheduled Tribe status. This would allow the Meiteis, who make up about half the state's population, to purchase land in the hills reserved for Scheduled Tribe communities under India's constitution and receive other affirmative action benefits.[...]
Critics accuse the state police of enabling Meitei militias. [...]
"I won't leave this place until this war ends. I don't feel safe anywhere else," Inaoton Singh said, noting that police had so far taken no action against those who killed his wife. Far from bringing armed Meitei groups under control, the Manipur state government has registered "first information reports" with the police against Kuki-Zo academics speaking out against the violence. The most recent was against the Editors Guild of India, an independent body that held the state and the regional media responsible for perpetuating the fighting in Manipur.

MarrowWings
Wings of Fire Fantribe by KurilianCharlie
Wings of Fire by Tui T Sutherland
STATUS: OPEN TRIBE
MarrowWings, also known as bone dragons or skeleton dragons to humans, are an Acherontia dragon tribe that reside in their own respective territories and are not as advanced as other dragon tribes. They are currently ruled by three separate clan leaders.
Description:
MarrowWings have thin, wider scales that are softer than the average dragon’s. They are usually paler and consist of a variety of colors depending on which clan they were born into. The Fayez have scales of reds, oranges, and yellows, the Marwan have scales of blues and greens, and the Kanan have scales of purple and pink, and are typically more saturated than the average MarrowWing. MarrowWing eyes can be a variety of colors for similar reasons, yet it’s common for some to have white pupils. A unified feature however are their darker patches of scales that run down their bodies which create an “X” marking on their fronts.
Their bodies are long, yet slim. Their wing membranes are quite fragile however, and it’s common to see grown MarrowWings who have either lost their membranes entirely, or have them torn towards the edges. Their snout grows to a sharper point as they get older, and their spikes resemble that of a spine’s vertebrae. Their horns usually grow around the ears and back towards the cheek area, and their teeth are alike to a tasmanian devil’s in their strength and shape. MarrowWing eggs are shockingly little compared to other dragon tribes. They are rounded, soft, and pale in color.
Diet:
MarrowWings can be classified as scavengers, primarily eating dead animals (carrion), bones, ect, and do not typically hunt for their own prey. MarrowWings steal from other dragons and animals or simply wait for whatever scraps have been left behind. Despite them mainly eating meat, they do enjoy eating fruits as well, although they are hard to come by, so they typically treat fruit as desserts rather than another meal. (Fruit is typically dried out before eaten, but many do enjoy it fresh when available.)
Clan Leaders:
-Secretary: Kanan Leader
-Tarrabah: Fayez Leader
-Fluorite: Marwan Leader
Alliances:
MarrowWings do not have any current alliances with other tribes, yet MarrowWings either live under a clan leader, or travel in packs of their own tribe.
Abilities:
MarrowWings, although most lack breath, have a strong jaw and bite. Their teeth never stop growing and must be worn down (Many MarrowWings prefer to chew on bones for this reason). They can also move their “lips” back to reveal their gums, which is more often than not a threat and or a sign of aggression.
MarrowWings are also extremely flexible, allowing them to maneuver in ways most dragons cannot. This is very useful in fights, getting around faster, and it typically is the reason most MarrowWings see no need to fly. Along with this, they have incredible night vision, and many adapt to be nocturnal as well (but this is simply a personal choice, and some do still choose to have a more average schedule).
Mutations:
MarrowWings are rarely born with certain mutations that affect their abilities and appearance. The Ichor-Blooded, also known as the Divine, are MarrowWings blessed with extraordinary abilities. These powers vary greatly—some may possess unique breath attacks, while others might wield specialized talon-based abilities, among other rare gifts. What distinguishes the Divine are their radiant, rune-like markings, which often appear in vibrant colors along their wings, body, neck, and tail. These markings are a striking symbol of their power.
The origin of these abilities remains a mystery to the MarrowWings, and their rarity has led to the reverence of the Ichor-Blooded as near-mythical beings, spoken of and practically worshiped as gods.
Society:
MarrowWings live in separate clans rather than uniting under a single queen. Scattered across Acherontia, they are divided into three distinct clans, each with its own unique beliefs and leadership.
The first clan is the Kanan, ruled by Secretary. Known for their focus on trade, this clan’s territory is the hub for all things related to commerce and craftsmanship. Instead of engaging in conflict, they dedicate themselves to creating. Most who are born into this clan take on professions like jewelry making or design. They are the most peaceful of the three clans.
The second clan is the Fayez, ruled by Tarrabah. Far more aggressive, they pride themselves on their battle prowess and worship the Ichor-Blooded as deities. Their territory often becomes a refuge for outcast MarrowWings, who find purpose in this militant society.
The third clan is Marwan, ruled by Fluorite. Unlike the others, this clan has constructed intricate networks of tunnels beneath their island and others. They live primarily underground, rarely showing themselves on the surface. Deeply distrustful of the Ichor-Blooded, they only trust their leader, who staunchly opposes the birth of more Ichor-Blooded. When they do emerge, it is usually only for brief encounters, such as scouting or quick trade with Kanan.Despite the separation between clans, it’s not uncommon for MarrowWings born into one clan to choose to join another. This often happens due to differences in personal beliefs or being cast out from their original clan.
Names:
MarrowWings (with exceptions) are typically named after types of scavengers, bones, meats, minerals, ect.
Examples:
-Carrion
-Vulture
-Tibia
-Limestone
(Names vary depending on the clan, but it’s not a set structure.)
Trivia:
-MarrowWings were created/conceptualized back in 2022, I’m only recently getting back into finishing/posting them.
-MarrowWing’s signature dark streak marking is supposed to resemble the separation of bone, along with the eye sockets of the skull.
-They have a higher rate of dwarfism, many MarrowWing are small.
-MarrowWings were inspired by Tasmanian Devils, Baboons, ect.

There aren’t exactly a ton of “rules” to this fantribe? But here’s some stuff you may want to know!
Permissions:
What’s okay to do with the MarrowWings?
-Adopts: Totally okay to make adoptable designs for any currency! Just make sure to credit me if using one of my bases, and or for the fantribe!
-Bases: Bases are totally okay to make! Although I would prefer that any fanmade bases were FTU (Free To Use), it is still your hard work! Any fanmade bases that are PTU (Pay To Use) are allowed, but I’d still prefer if they were free.
-Stories: Although I have existing characters, story elements, ect, feel free to get creative! It’s totally fine to make leaders for your own stories, hybrids with other fantribes/canonical tribes, ichor-blooded/divine. No restrictions there!
-In short, just have fun with the tribe! And do feel free to ask any questions ^^

@maya-why The primary objective of caste-based reservations is not for economic upliftment. That is simply a by-product and consequence. The primary goal of caste based reservation is to guarantee representation of the community that has been denied representation in the public field, has been denied basic human rights.
A poor Brahmin is hampered by economic disadvantage. A poor Dalit is hampered by economic and social disadvantages. A poor Brahmin student does not run the risk of being denied food, water and companionship by their peers. Even a rich Dalit student runs the risk of being ostracized and bullied far more than their upper caste peers. Dalits and STs face some of the highest suicide rates in India. Rohith Vemula, Dr Payal Tadvi, Darshan Solanki, these are not merely coincidences.
Also, your argument about reservations on the basis of economic background is moot because even today in India, the wealth distribution is determined by one's caste. Only 22.3% of upper caste Hindus hold over 40% of the country's wealth while 7.8 per cent of Hindu Scheduled Tribes own only 3.7 per cent. The share of wage labourers among SCs was 63% (2011-12 NSSO statistics). 32% of the casual labourers in the country are SCs when their total population share is 16%.
Caste IS linked to one's socioeconomic background. This is because caste has been weaponized to maintain the status quo by upper caste, landowning Hindus. SC households own merely 9.5% of the total land in India and the average land each SC household owned was half of that owned by 'other' households.
In other words, if you feel that caste based reservations are unjust, then remember that they exist because systematic, caste based discrimination still exists in the country. Maybe you don't see it because your privilege makes the discrimination invisible. But I promise you, it is there. If you want caste based reservations to end in India, then first fight for ending caste based discrimination in India.

Tribe of Nêsos 3: Kápros
Unplanned hiatusses isn't a word breaks are basically just something I have come to accept, because no way will my ADHD let me post in an orderly and regular schedule. I will skip through these next few posts a little bit, instead of doing really detailed storytelling for absolutely everything, because I have managed to completely creatively block myself. Also, I have progressed to Round 6 in game, and my posts are FAR behind.
Anyway, what happened with Oréktos, after he took in some mysterious strangers? First, he went to the chieftain Méns, and gave him a horse, while Idu's younger brother Yissharu tried - and largely failed - to befriend the chief's sons. A language barrier alone would have made that hard, but that AND a rather significant age gap proved too much of an obstacle.
Afterwards, it was mostly just the newcomers settling in, and Néphe the mare having another foal by one of the many, many wild horses of the island. Also, more births happened, but frankly, so many of the babies die offscreen that I only bother to remember them if they've made it to toddlerhood.
And then there was the small matter of Idu and Oréktos speedrunning their romance. This was not my idea, but entirely guided by the wishes they rolled.
Oréktos felt a little guilty because of his status as a widower who found love again, and became very emotional upon their first kiss, so Idu comforted him, understanding at least some of his inner turmoil.
Poira, in true motherly fashion, butted in at the worst moment possible and wasted no time disapproving.
Nobody was particularly deterred from doing anything, though.
