As a send of here's my compilation of every detail/gag or pretty much everything that I loved about the Fionna and Cake finale.

First off, the lighthearded stuff.

First of all. That's Hunter!!! We finally get to see HW gender-swapped counterpart's design. Gotta say I love that they kept it the same, it does feel like it could fit anyone.

Talking about him, I LOVE that they are finally adding him to the gang. I didn't expect him to be so prevalent in the finale, but I couldn't be happier! It seems like the crew has finnaly learned to apreciate HW and they are inserting her (even if it's Hunter) whenever they can.

All the raw emotion of the lich would have been unheard of at any other point in AT's history. The depression and hopelessnes, such human emotions were amazing to explore in him. He poses himself as a "ceesless weel" a god-like beeing of pure destruction, but even he neels when he realices it was all for nothing.

For some time I theorized that Golb (and subsequently Golbetty) was, in fact, Scarabs and Prismo's Boss. Kind of like a ultimate deity, high up on the pantheon. But seeing how Scarab adresses her in such a careles way, emphasizing that she should "stay out of this" made me think about the real power dinamic between thees two. And thus, of the whole multiverse bureocracy.

This tittle card rips me apart. It's briming with thematic importance. But I feel so many emotions simply beacuse it says cheers, it's like a send-off, a happy cheerfull goodbye to all of us who enjoyed this show. It made me tear up a bit when I first saw it.

For thoose who aren't aware Pawn Swan's was created by Steven Wolfhard after CAWM alongside the pup kingdom. He has in his tumblr a gigantic amount of lore about it. I'm sooo happy they finally got to use his ideas and designs. Many of the pups seen all trought Shermy and Beth's sequence were in his drawings too. So go check that out!

I'm a complete sucker for happy endings and THIS was PERFECTION. I simply connot describe how much I obsolutely LOVE that they are able to comunicate and talk. it's just perfect, this show has me spoiled-rotten.

In pure Marceline fashion Marshal tries playing another song. And Gary is soo into this man it's unreal

But, also in pure Marceline fashion, he gets interupted. It kind of reminded me about Marceline's song to Bonny in Obsidian. But it's kind of the oposite outcome, Scarab isn't affected by it at all while Glorbo is finaly delt with.

Talking about Simon being happy. I'm just so glad that he has been able to reconect with Astrid!!! This man is such a DAD, I love him :,)

Before Fionna's world was finaly canonized we can see that it really just amounts to the city. Which makes sense because if you are trying to put a whole world in a dude's head, you are going to have to cut some stuff out.

Anyways, after they are made legit we can see that the city has expanded! And I also assume that now there's not only a city, but a whole world too!!

This really came as a surprise honeslty, but a welcomed one at that. I assume that since Jay agrees to stay in the city, even if it's not forever, Farmworld Finn must be fine. It doesn't make any sense for him to drop his 4 little brothers just to screw around in another universe.

The only sad part is that, since we don't see neither PB nor Marcy in the tank that means they are probably dead. In the end it does seem like they took eachothers life, together.

Now onto the heavy stuff!

"This is the world we want to fight for. The Scarab is kind of invincible. But we won't give up. If we die, we'll die together, as ourselves"

This cuts deep. At this moment Fionna was ready to die. She acknowledges that she had tried everything she could and that, in a way, it was her fault. But she also understands that this is what it is. And she's ready to depart. In what she thought were her last moments she found happines in thoose and that around her. Magic or not, they were all together, and that's what mattered.

"We made our choices. We could have made better ones, but I don't have any regrets. You were a wonderful experience"

We knew Simon had wronged Betty. She had put away everything for him. He didn't do it on porpuse, but he recognised he could have been more thoughtful. In the end, while Simon acknowledges his mistakes Betty doesn't demonise neither him nor the relationship that came bacuse of it. It's a very sentimental, heartfelt conclusion.

As humans we often try to make our best to navigate life. But with all the choices in front of us it's very hard to get it right. A lot of time might have to pass before we truly see how wrong we were. We realize that we hurt people, and that things didn't have to be this way. But once we acknowledge this we can finaly move on. At this moment, Simon realizes that it's okay to fail but, unfortunetly, we can't go back. We have to live with it and it can't prevent us from moving forward.

In the end all we can do is have compassion for ourselves, and for each other.

That was pretty much all of the details and highlights for me. There's some other ones but they are kind of too obvious to point out.

Why did Betty say like 4 words total! Let my girl speak! They need to talk it out! Anyways i wanted more of her.

The Higher Ups in Wrath of the Wishmaster

So, just wanted to dump my brain worms here, and talk about the OC gods that just got introduced in the 3 part instalment of Wrath of the Wishmaster that I posted.

I'd like to introduce the Higher Ups. They're basically the upper management of the pantheon, only answering to The Boss themselves. Their power and rulings override pretty much everyone else, unless the Boss intervenes. They cannot be removed from reality, stripped of their titles, demoted, or even harmed.

You've already met one, the Organizer but there's two others: the Observer and the Judge! So, let's go through their deal one by one.

The Organizer

Let's start with the one y'all have officially met, the Organizer. As the name would imply, she is the goddess in charge of the organization, planning, and paperwork of the entire pantheon. She's the one to deal with write ups, complaints, requests, and record keeping. She has a file on pretty much everything to have ever lived in the multiverse, all perfectly sorted in an infinite records room. She's always super busy. She's also Orbo's direct supervisor, and by extension Scarab's. She's the one who sends the official orders for Auditors to go after rule breakers.

The Observer

The Observer is a rarely seen god, but he works closely with the Organizer. He is in charge of overseeing all activity across the multiverse, particularly with anyone powerful enough to jump between universes, and the other gods. He has seen everything that has ever happened (and rumor says ever will happen) in the multiverse. He hands off this information to the Organizer for storage, and is the primary source of information for sentencing cosmic crimes. He also is the one to confirm or reject complaints and write ups from the Organizer. He commands any and all gods responsible for gathering information within the cosmos.

The Judge

The Judge is the main authority of what is and isn't a cosmic crime. It is them who decides what punishments are delivered to what write ups, who does and does not belong in the Citadel, and is the one to mark individuals as cosmic threats. If someone is marked a target, the information is given to the Organizer to then give the order to Auditors. Of the higher ups, they're the one most often seen, both by mortals and by other gods. It is them you must plead your case to if you're demanding help or mercy from the gods. Unless the Boss intervenes, the Judge can grant or strip any of the lesser gods their title and immortality. They ultimately created the Citadel and the guardians. Not surprisingly, they were a bit salty after the whole Lich fiasco.

Other notes:

Some gods don't directly answer to one of these three. Gods like Prismo and the Cosmic Owl pretty much only answer to the Boss, as it's their power they're tapping into to grant wishes and make dreams prophetic.

All three of the Higher Ups are able to pass down punishment to gods if the transgression is not considered serious. For example, in the last part of Gala of the Gods, if Prismo and Scarab actually did major damage to the Judgement Hall, the Organizer would be sending them straight to the Judge.

Someone on AO3 suggested it and I liked it a lot so I'm including it: The Organizer was kind of Scarab's mentor figure. She was pretty much the only god he really spoke to as he transitioned from mortal to immortal. They stopped talking after Scarab lost his bid for Wishmaster to Prismo. He kind of blamed her for making him think he had a chance when literally everyone else was telling him to not even bother. More on that relationship in the next chapter.

The Observer is terrifying. No one but other Higher Ups talks to the Observer. Even other gods risk going mad by looking upon him.

The Judge is so tired of everyone's bullshit. So is the Organizer tbh. Get them some coffee, dammit.

Golb/Golbetty can technically be considered a Higher Up since their power overrides Prismo's, but Golb is kind of seperate from the cosmic hierarchy. They're a chaotic nightmare, on the same level as the Higher Ups, but not technically one of them.

My Fionna and Cake episode 7&8 tangent

Lets start it off with the score. 20/20 it was fantastic. my stupid theory post will happen eventually, and I will ABSOLUTELY TALK ABOUT PETRIGROF

The star - Cake thinking Fionna was upset cause her fling died was silly, Fionna was clearly upset before about the candy people. The fight with the vampires was funny but intense, I love how Cake and Fionna care a lot about eachother. Also why does Simon know what holy water taste like. Pb and "Star" was so cute, and I was so right when I talked about us getting more Bubbline on tiktok (Tiktok account is not linked anywhere btw) The vampire world is super sad though, cause they had really been eating for so long, that a potential thousands of people died. Marshall and Gary really lit up the episode from the sadness once again, Gary's tangents of his candy kingdom are so cute. AND HIS HAMBO THINGY IN HIS CAR. Marten and baby Finn are so cute, I wanna legit cry cause HES MEANT TO BE A GOOD DAD BUT HES SO STUPID IN THE OG UNIVERSE. Also imma say this now, Prismo gets in trouble for breaking the rules once and ignoring a few beeps, BUT Scarab ignores several beeps and his entire job and doesn't get in trouble, that boss better have a good reason. Second date (potentially) and Marshall already introducing his boyfriend to his mom, damn. Marshall's mom matches og Hunson perfectly somehow, duche parent club. And Marshall's little blush of embarrassment from his mom acting all weird infront of Gary. Billy's corpse is messed up, like reall messed up, and the reminder of how tall he is is also crazy. I was also wondering the entire time if Pb was human in this universe until she bit off half her arm basically. The Star's outfit is so good, but I wonder how she turned into a vampire now, maybe she was bit in front of that worlds Simon's body and thats why she screamed at something. Already long section so I'll end it here with, I LOVED THIS ENTIRE EPISODE, Huntress dying was sad though, and Gary Marshall kiss was adorable. Closing thought of this episode, Bubbline but toxic yuri. Jerry - Simon and Betty better get a happy ending or I will legit be so sad, they love each other so much, and Betty just legit became part of a god over her Fiance once celebrity crush. I love how gorgeous everything is in this show, Orbo is also a funny character. I feel like someone could narrow down where things and places they go in this Lich's wish universe it'd seem fun at first then spiral though. Simon does NOT know how to draw though get this man an art class. The tree house being naked though, all its leaves gone. Lich's wish to kill all life, really just unironically killed ALL life, down to plants. Fun little references to old episodes, and including one that revolved around Ice king, hmm. Also I wonder the age gap between Betty and Simon, I like to see it as they're like a year apart but Simon just skipped grades cause hes a smart cookie. Also Simon had slides ready for people to be loud, HE WAS READY. Nerd girls in love. I am also guessing Bmo has been alone for awhile now, at least since season 5ish times since thats when the Lich would have made this wish. All the references in Ice King's junk from the melted ice kingdom. Ninja guide books, kunai, vhs tapes and the camera, the pink diary, his bed has the wishing amulet that Gunter used to break bottles. I was RIGHT

Fionna see's how unhealthy Ice King was, and changes her mind and wants him to not become this sad sad man again. Simon would genuinely be such a sweet and wonderful parent, he loved taking care of the babies in the baby universe, and he sees Fionna get happy when he tells his story with Betty and keeps doing it to keep her happy. Neddy is also guaranteed dead, already obvious but the candy kingdom doesn't have the juices being produced. Bmo has done a lot in his isolation, a lot of stuff is changed or moved, I feel so bad for bmo. But the lines "Help me zip up my bra" and "Ooo, butt stuff" Wow. The Simon and Betty stuff makes me so happy, they're so cute and I love them, they need to have a happy ending or I will be so sad. The lesbians ever, I love these lesbians, let the lesbians be happy. Simon struggling to say he loves her is so CUTE. Poor Bmo, I feel so bad, but he was probably so sad being alone, sad in someway. Petrigrof moment was so cute and adorable please, I want them so happy, they deserve to be happy. Now for the bombshell, Jerry. The Lich's wish monkey paw aspect is that he gets depressed and has nothing to do now that all life is gone. Billy's body decomposing as the Lich parasites it. SO, imma theory my reason for the portal finally opening to GolBetty, either it was because the Lich was used as the battle and influenced it in a way to allow it to finally work, OR Betty's wish to keep Simon safe truly included the crown being worn. Like the crown really did trigger GolBetty like "BITCH, NO" or the third that makes probably the most sense, The Scarab was literally about to kill Simon and go against what Betty wants, meaning she is going to interfere. I saw someone say that GolBetty likely wont remember Simon and this could cause something. BUT I REALLY HOPE THEY DONT DO THAT, I WANT THEM HAPPY SO BADLY

Writer's Notes

Okay, so one of the show's central issues was the way Betty and Simon's relationship is clearly not perfect and Simon has to stop idealizing it

Like coming from a writer's perspective, making a couple's talk where two individuals hash out where in the relationship things went bad - that's hard to make visually interesting. Since Fionna and Cake is primarily a visual experience, we can't have the entirety of episode 9 be Betty just saying that Simon wasn't thoughtful but also... It wouldn't pay off if Simon didn't figure it out himself.

So this problem? Needed to have more hints to its resolution from the get go. Like the other worlds hammered in Simon's worth and impact as a person, but it didn't do nearly a good job of pointing out how he could help himself.

Winter King was actually primed to point out. It could have been as simple as saying "Well why would I remember her? She's just another obsessed fangirl." And we go from there.

Honestly, we didn't need "Casper and Nova", we needed "Winter King" as a two parter. Simon has to face the flaws in himself that he doesn't acknowledge. The way Simon blithely downplays "Winter King" as a Simon that's simply messed up instead of his own self centered perspective ramped up to 100 is... a waste.

So we put a bug in Simon's ear that maybe his pity party is just a little self indulgent. Maybe we put Simon and Fionna in the bassinet because Simon can have a self reflection moment with Fionna.

Like it could've been as easy as:

"I never realized I could be that self centered."

"But that wasn't you right?"

"... I could've been."

And then, we move through the vampire world as in the show. But in the Lich world, Simon *has* to start putting two and two together. He begins to expand his perspective to the ways his Crown plan isn't considerate of the way it effects others - the way he wasn't that considerate of Betty.

We can have those flashbacks about Betty and Simon's relationship but when Fionna makes her comments, Simon takes her input seriously. And when we reach the part where Simon is about to put on the Crown, Simon doesn't say goodbye, he could say something like "I'm sorry".

And we move into the Betty reunion with Simon fully in a new perspective in their relationship. We don't need "Casper and Nova" to spell it out if he was already there. And we don't need to see the future. We can dedicate episode 9 on Simon's reflection of his past, his present, and his future. We can keep it visually interesting by showing smash cuts to Fionna's problem with Scarab.

Then that leaves episode 10 entirely as an epilogue.

My brain is really sleepy rn but pretty full on thoughts about The Boss. Let's see if I can get words™ to work properly. Lot's of rambling under the readmore 👍

I know that they're implied to rule over the "light and dark" over the multiverses but their appearance and their position over all the other cosmic beings gives the vibes of more overseeing "Order and Chaos" + a bit of neutral vibes.

And that color scheme they got going on, specially that gold! (Gold Stars even hah) Makes me wonder if- since they're in charge of everything and feel like they've been around for a long time- if they're potentially originated from a Primordial or something that's been around since the start of nothing?

We don't know that much about Primordials besides that a lot of them have a disdain for living creatures in the universes/just plain tormenting them for their own amusement.

But that's just like??? two of the ones we know about. Other Primordials could've had other agendas or views on the newly formed universes and creatures living in it.

And with the Lich potentially being a transformed one (got lucky I guess, with consuming a comet and getting a new form of ironic life) brings up the thought that what if other Primordials turned into other forms of existence, even "ascended" into Cosmic Beings if they really wanted to? They feel like they range from various amounts of power from Orgalorg being pretty decently managed by Finn and Grob Gob Glob Grog, to Coconteppi having pretty menacing magical powers (even after possessing Peppermint!). But with only two examples its hard to pinpoint the extent Primordials' capabilities are.

Besides being deathless and existing even after their physical forms get ditched.

If The Boss is/was one then they'd probably be a pretty powerful one given the extent of overseeing Cosmic Beings that have various potential over the top powers as well. And how Prismo and Orbo both go "ah shoot" when thinking mentioning them.

Speaking of Prismo and Orbo, that brings me to that whole interaction concerning them and The Boss.

Even before Fionna and Cake, with the ordeal with Farm World. Prismo would've for sure gotten in trouble with them had it not been resolved. And man does he know it.

And then with Orbo's reaction to when Scarab mentions talking to The Boss about Prismo.

With Orbo being a boss, he's probably seen them "drop the hammer" on other cosmic beings- and likely knows that there's no 'getting a light slap on the hand' and going about your day like nothing happened.

Maybe even to the point where the cosmic being in question might be deemed to have their existence- well- cease to exist and a new being chosen to replace them.

So with that in mind, it really feels like he's trying to stall for Prismo. He doesn't want his buddy to turning into cosmic dust or something like that. And who knows, maybe he was also hoping that the situation would resolve itself like it did with Farmworld Enchiridion situation?

But anyways. Hell, Orbo immediately bumps him into a different area the moment he brings up calling their boss. Really feels like he doesn't want Scarab to bring him to The Boss's attention because there's no escaping that once you're on that "in serious trouble" radar.

And when Scarab doesn't let up on his mission- Orbo's probably thinking "WELL DAMN DUDE, you got no chill. Gonna have to deal with this myself so Prismo can have a chance to fix things and the boss doesn't notice yet."

Before getting interrupted by The Boss who most definitely caught wind of things, and wanted to get to solving the issue already. All those glitches in the multiverses Fionna and Cake popped in are probably not discreet. That "Aw nuts, it's the boss!" really makes it feel that once The Boss knows something's up- no getting outta it.

Also, yes, it's pretty much Orbo playing favorites, definitely. No denying that.

But feels like he's not out to get Scarab personally- just more like "SHHHHH- SHHH SHUT UP DUDE YOU'RE GONNA GET PRISMO IN TROUBLE" and Scarab is "OF COURSE- I WANT HIM TO GET IN TROUBLE"

And those calls for other god auditing jobs might've also been Orbo trying to have a reason to summon him up to that Cosmic waiting room, who knows? Point is, once you're in trouble with The Boss. You're IN trouble.

The Boss feels like the kind of being that goes "Let's see how this plays out" to "You messed up, now you got to own up to it- no excuses" and "Things are in order now, no need to hassle these people/this world". Given how they tell Scarab to stop when Fionna's universe gets legit BUT also transporting Scarab easily to where Simon is so he could properly do his job when it wasn't.

And if Scarab has succeeded, and Golbetty not interfered and authorized Fionna's universe, then Prismo most likely would've faced serious consequences for his unauthorized universe.

But since things worked out, because of Golbetty giving the seal of approval on the universe, they pretty much just went, "Okay then, no need to deal with this. It's authorized. Drop it and go back to doing your other missions."

Besides the point, but I'd be endlessly amused if they show this dramatic reveal of The Boss in season two and they're just -

on a pedestal or something. Hahah they're PrimorDial

Well, since I'm bored at work, might as well ramble about my F+C AU!

Bear with me because this all come from a dream I had after finishing F+C and my obsession with apocalyptic media.

Fionna and Cake: Rewriting The Apocalypse

What I'm going to be talking about is in the horror category, so a warning is in order:

⚠️ TW: depictions of blood, scarring (including healed s/h), and body horror. Proceed with caution, you have been warned!

Since Scarab said the "bad" will come to this universe, it popped an idea in my think pan.

The Lich's hand fell to every universe, making him a constant. His hand fell down from the Wish Room through space as a catalyst comet, landing in the Fionna and Cake universe (heavily delayed since the universe was so far away from the others).

It melted as it broke through the atmosphere, turning into a green sludge that seeped into the sewer system. This sludge was toxic, and anything that touched it turned insane, thus creating Sewer Bat People. These bat people infected others by blood.

This leads to Gary, Marshall, Fionna, and Cake leaving Aaa City, venturing to the City of New Ooo to find Doctor Bonnibel.

A part of me wants to do something with these: a fanfic with images or a comic? I'm not sure, but the idea was fun to feed into. And it was definitely fun to play with my style and the Adventure Time style.

Wow I just finished Fiona and Cake. I really loved it.

Spoilers and tw suicide mention?

Not to be edgy but this really was about depression and suicide. I didn’t expect that or realize it until the end

Both Fiona and Simon are miserable and out of place in their worlds and basically want to figuratively end it. Simon feels like his life has no meaning anymore- and things that previously defined him are different, like how Marcy doesn’t need him in the same way

The Lich is trapped in the universe where he has literally ended it all, and he’s miserable and pointless. Even the destructive force the Scarab represents, and how he destroys because he can’t connect.

But by the end, Fiona and Simon both realize they want to live in their worlds, and do the hard work of getting help and finding new meaning. It’s braver to keep building and creating instead of destroying. I thought the ending was sweet.

(I would be very happy to live in this world but my cat also talks. )

Other interesting stuff, I liked the depth they gave Betty and Simon’s relationship. The difference between loving someone and just being devoted to them. And how Betty gave and gave until there was nothing left.

I guess there were a lot of loose bits and bobs that remained open, but the story isn’t about those things. Just my opinion I guess.

It’s crazy to me how Adventure Time can just keep expanding and getting deeper.

depends on when, really!!

if we're talking pre-canon, it's definitely more of an "oh whatever" scenario. he doesn't interact w/ prismo much, if at all, so i doubt he would notice if prismo was possessed. if the lich killed prismo, the uncaring behavior would continue, but there would also be some satisfaction as it would be easier to claim the wishmaster role. he might play the part of "its such a shame that we lost a beloved cosmic entity 😔" but that's basically it

if we're talking post-canon then there's a very very deep sense of fear. i mean, hes trapped in the same place as the being that very nearly killed him and got away with it, plus he's controlling the entity that basically saved him and was the only one to notice he was possessed.

hes terrified and worried about prismo, but there's very little he can do in terms of stopping the lich himself. if the lich killed prismo, that fear just triples. it would confuse the wishmaster protection system, not knowing whether to flag it as murder or a willing stepping out of position.

Since it's been a hot minute and these aren't really spoilers for ATF&C

Am I the only one who got kinda sad seeing Farm World Finn and the Lich's wish World.

Like they're the Finn and Ooo of s1-4. That is OG Finn, and he's gone through so much and OG BMO, and he was all alone, and now they're dead. Finn impaled by Scarab and BMO fuckin exploded.

I was honestly kinda sad.

Explaination because when talking about Farm World Finn and Dead World before people were confused:

Lich's Wish killed all things organic and made the Dead World with only him and BMO, and Lich only lived because he was w/ Prismo, we can assume.

Finn's Wish of there being no Lich sent him to a post-war-apocalyptic Farm World with no fun magicy mutated stuff because the nukes never went off. He also held no memory of his previous life in Ooo.

Jake's Wish created a copy of the original Ooo with everything being exactly the same except that Lich never made his wish, so Finn didn't either.

So there's also a new Finn and Lich that are complete copies of the ones who entered Prismos place. They're basically the exact same people, but they're technically not either.

Finished Fionna and Cake and I have some more thoughts, lots of spoilers below

So in regards to that Finn post I made after ep 1&2, apparently there was no more our Finn. In hindsight that makes sense but still a bummer that he didn't even get a cameo. I am absolutley stunned by the lack of Marcie mentions, especially in the finale. I am well aware that they wanted to branch out and away from the main cast for this one but this was very much a Simon story, despite being called Fionna and Cake. Your telling me we don't even get Simon recalling Marcie to talk or just a quick clip of them hanging, it felt wrong.

I did really enjoy the show. Like genuinely it was a great time, I recommend. I will say though it needed more episodes. Even just a "normal" 12, as far as smaller series go. They just wanted to do too much and didn't really get to stop and flesh out different ideas.

Now Adventure Time thrived at "dream logic" where crap didn't make sense, everyone in universe just excepted the most random ideas. It also had a sense of whimsy that it held while showing you some of the most gut punching stories. It was insane and the HBO stuff has felt more grounded I want to say? Like its lost that vibe. I didn't really notice it in "Together again" or "Obsidian" but "Bmo" definitely felt a bit off and "Wizard City" was... anyway after getting to see a full series it's just really brought that forward for me. Like its not bad it just doesn't fully feel like Adventure Time.

I will say for this series you could blame that on the fact we're following human Simon, who's here because he couldnt get behind that mindset and two outsiders. But thats not quite right. Its not so much a "how are the characters reacting to x" as much as it is "how is x being presented to we the viewer"

Its really hard to put to words. Uhh take Scarab I guess? In the original show you would've maybe had someone give Simon and the gang a quick explanation on who he is, a quick cutscene, or even just left it at what we see in the beginning. Not really going too deep. But instead they keep checking in on him and his little monologues, you even go to see his boss or manager dude. It felt like too much context for a character that did exactly as much as he would have regardless or whether or not we had that info. I feel like I know more about Scarab than I do the Lich and its weird.

It also, circling back, didn't work with how short the series was. They HAD to establish Fionna and Cake as actual characters and not just gender swaps, Simon needed to go through his whole arc. They then CHOSE to also establish Gary and Marshal in a B plot, Adventure Time really didn't have B plots so that was weird at first but it actually helped the Finale ep so they get a pass, and then added on Scarab with whatever he had going on, all while changing the setting and throwing in a new side cast every episode. They were working so hard to introduce everyone and get them through their stories that they really didnt have time to let the things settle. Like y'all remember in the Elements series how they took that whole (I think?)2nd episode to have Finn just sit down and process everything that had just happened and is currently happening. Was it the best episode? No. But gosh dang it did wonders for Jake's character, displaying how Finn has matured emotionally, giving the brothers a chance to connect(right before Jake disolves in some goo so that it hurts more), and gave the viewer a little break from non-stop action while also letting us catch back up all in a cute funny little Adventure Time way. Fionna and Cake NEEDED an episode like that. Because everything was so rushed they didnt really get to bond and grow together and grow away from the "owner pet dynamic." Finn and Jake had that line a little blurry in funny one off gags but they were absolutley brothers first, Fionna and Cake was on the other hand not that.

Anywho TL;DR, Show was good but pacing and vibes were off and would've benefited from at least two more episodes just to let things breathe.

I absolutley knew it about Simon's and Betty's relationship. I saw that coming from a mile away. That crap was so unhealthy and I'm glad they've made peace with that fact + Simon is getting therapy. Thank you Finn's mom.

Oh and last little bit, me being upset about my unanswered questions.

Uh how did Jake die? Cause Farmworld Finn's Jake is still alive and well, so its not of old age?

Why the heck did Prismo do a complete 180° so fast??? Your legit telling me that in 20-30 years(Idk how long but it's nothing compared to him) prismo, an immortal wishmaster, has turned into a washed up mess. Why? Where's cosmic owl, don't you guys still hang? Is it cause of our world Jake dying, if so back to question 1?

Not really specific to this show but Is PB still PB or just B? Cause she was living with Marcie in "Obsidian" and in "Together Again" Peppermint Butlers wearing her crown. Whose watching the candy kingdom, I'm just genuinley curious?

Is Farmworld Finn dead??? I genuinely don't think he is because Scarabs whole job seems to be keeping thing running smoothly and killing a reincarnated catalyst comet seems like it would be a big screw up. Also Jay and LD didn't seem upset, so I'm gonna go with no he's fine? But they also DIDN'T GIVE ME CLOSURE!

ALSO why are Jay and LD ditching they're families for Fionna's world? That seems out of character and overall just a weird choice.

DID THEY PUT BABY FINN BACK IN BABY WORLD??? Is there a baby jake without Finn??? I am devastated.

What was the point of sending Simon into Shermie's body other than the cameo? Like I love to see em, but we were pressed for time and they're could've been another way to do that right? It just felt weird.

Why did Prismo send Jay, LD, Baby Finn, and the tank peppermint butler anyways? There was definitely a different way to do that.

Lastly but most importantly

There was no Fionna meets our Finn??? Why it's all I wanted, even just a two second she bumped into him while chasing after Cake and neither of them realized. I would've been so happy and I'm a little salty now.

ohhh my god. long rant. i need to talk about this otherwise im going to explode. no one will see this but I have SUCH mixed feelings about the final of fionna and cake. obviously spoilers for fionna and cake final ep 9&10 (charlotte do not read this i'll kill you)

ok so first of all I've already seen some people talking about how it's MEANT to be underwhelming because 'that's just how life is!' and stuff like that but. honestly that doesn't make it. good? I feel like they still could've kept what generally happened, with that same attitude, but made it at LEAST a bit better??? I haven't seen anyone talk about this but the lich. I'm so disappointed what they did with them. This was 100% me hyping myself up, considering I want there to be another season, and I thought it made logical sense for them to use the OG lich as a proper antagonist for season 2. But c'mon. Why not just leave him in his own little reality where he's alone? why bring him to golb and then have him killed? that felt so pointless. I feel like it would've been better because he would've been punished MORE, frustrated by the fact that he'd never know why golb never reached out to him or anything, and he'd just be stuck there.

In my head for the lich I thought he'd end up following Simon or Fionna to their reality and just. silently wait? I thought the lich had a realization of "oh maybe if i kill life again in ANOTHER world i'll be noticed? no one's done THAT before" and that's where it was leading. but. obviously was wrong. i guess maybe he can get. unkilled or whatever you want to call it but. eh.

With the whole Fionna's world not getting magic im not surprised by that. I expected it! considering episode 8 Simon never finished putting the crown on his head. I'm happy they didn't turn it magical actually, i really liked the message of Fionna liking her world the way it is and putting her fantasies aside. I'm. conflicted. with the way it happened, and the whole fake out of Simon going to put the crown on his head then throwing it. It just kinda felt weird?

I. did not. like the whole fucking. book game thing. And that being how Simon figured out his and Betty's relationship wasn't the best. It felt forced. it felt too kidish? i was enjoying the whole series so far with it seeming less childish, but to put it into a simple game and Simon realising like that. felt. weird. I feel like they could've done what happened after? where Simon relived stopping Betty from going on the bus? In my head it would've been better to do that but lead it on longer. Have him slowly realise that he never did what Betty wanted to do? it's not perfect but just something other than the book. It kinda felt like they only did it to show off those two characters? which was frustrating when I just wanted to see Simon resolve his relationship with betty.

Talking about that, when he DID relive stopping Betty from going on the bus. that felt SO short? like damn ok they just figured it out that fast. didn't talk that much about it. I love Betty saying Simon was a great experience. and like. I GET SHE'S A GOD NOW. so she's going to think/act differently and not be obsessed with him which is good!! but I feel like there should've been. more talking on that part. instead of just being a minute long (from the moment he entered the body and started 'redoing' it).

I don't have much to say about the scarab? he didn't really. leave an impression the last two episodes. I guess since obvs it was going to be figured out? I hate. HATEEE what they did with simon at the end of the show when they were wrapping up. No finn, no marcy. just by himself. I understand that he's meant to learn how to be his own person, but it would've been nice to see him with family/friends. I think it would've been better if his was more later in the future? not a majour amount, just so he'd already moved out of his old place. It would've been cute, having a proper apartment or house. Maybe marcy helping him move in. I'm BEGGING for him to have a proper father daughter relationship with her, where she also realises he needs some attention considering. YA KNOW HIS FUCKED UP SITUATION.

Kinda iffy with the whole. baby fin and fin's. child, and his girlfriend, getting teleported to Fionna's world. kinda wish it got left alone? cause what is. fin from that world just dead? or is he alive and now just missing a son??? he'd be distraught??? i have FEELINGS.

I've been talking about what I'm like. upset/annoyed about mostly because THAT IS MY STRONGEST FEELINGS. marshel and gary being worried they wouldn't remember each other is. SO fucking cute. I wont lie, a part of me was wishing that even though i knew simon wouldn't put on the crown that he would, just so they could see each other and. idk. have gary simp over vampire marshel. I also think that might've made the scarb fight more entertaining, since having real magic involved, they could get rid of it once the fight is over because. THEY WOULDN'T LIKE IT.
