to be know is to be seen and neil has spent his life with his feet firmly planted in the shadows. stefan, chris, and alex; cheap box dye and contacts; the changing of routines with each city. he wonders where the lies end and he begins. maybe, neil thinks, it’s better to not know.
telling the foxes everything after baltimore leaves him untethered - truth is not a familiar taste on his tongue.
on bad days, the secrets he’s given up since arriving in palmetto haunt him. his mind whispers don’t be seen don’t be known; once they know you, you can’t run. he feels mary’s hands tugging his hair, the sting of the slaps received for saying too much. his chest feels heavy and his feet itch to run. except.
dan meets him after class with a black coffee. matt keeps the fridge stocked with fruit, no vegetables in sight. allison keeps concealer in his shade for the next time he runs his mouth. kevin finds him to talk about the last trojans game.
sometime during his second year, he joins andrew on the rooftop. matching arm bands sharing cigarettes, fingers intertwined. neil leans into andrew, into the first person who saw him and didn’t look away until he worked his way through all the lies and half truths until he found abram.
neil realizes then, that to be known is to be loved. and he’s known.

Hold Tight
Andrew and Neil accidentally crash Abby and Wymack’s carnival date.
The fairground was rife with people and noise. Andrew had warned Neil that this would be the case, but the screaming, the music, the crowds; it all had Neil wondering what the appeal of a day at the fair could possibly be.
The day itself was drawing to a close, the sky turning a deep orange and fading to purple at the edges. Andrew had flown in that afternoon, and when Neil picked him up from the airport he happened upon the flyer for the Palmetto State fair.
Although, after spending ten minutes there, Neil came to the conclusion that they should have just had an easy night at home. Murder, She Wrote reruns were a better alternative to this.
Andrew caught him by the shoulders, yanking him out of both his thoughts and the warpath of an ice-cream-wielding toddler. Neil checked himself for stains, but he remained unscathed.
‘Thanks.’
‘Those jeans are designer,’ Andrew informed him.
Neil shook his head, smiling. He opened his mouth to respond when a familiar voice called, ‘Neil! Andrew!’
They both whirled to see Abby hauling Wymack over by the hand. She was beaming, her hair free from its customary ponytail and whipping around in the breeze. Wymack appeared to be reevaluating his life choices.
Neil met Andrew’s amused look with an identical one of his own, allowing Abby to catch him in a hug when they met them halfway.
‘I didn’t know the two of you were coming here tonight,’ she said fondly.
‘The warning would have been nice,’ Wymack added, less so.
Neil fought the childish urge to stick his tongue out at him. Living in the dorms with just Robin was beginning to have an effect on him.
‘We didn’t intend to crash your date,’ Andrew said, sending a meaningful look down at Abby and Wymack’s joined hands.
‘And what noble reason do you shits have for being here?’ Wymack returned.
‘Candy floss hunting,’ Andrew said at the same time Neil said, ‘Breaking in my jeans.’
‘They’re designer, you know,’ Neil continued when Wymack cast his eyes heavenward.
Abby laughed at their antics. ‘Have you tried any of the rides yet?’
‘Er, no.’ Neil tried to think of how best to skirt around the topic of Andrew’s acrophobia, but Andrew beat him to it.
‘I sustained a head injury in last week’s game,’ Andrew lied. ‘No roller coasters for me. So sad.’
Abby frowned. ‘A head injury? In which quarter? We watched the whole game.’
‘You must have blinked,’ said Andrew. ‘I’m going to line up for food if you want to take him on something puke-inducing before we eat. Coach?’
Wymack sighed but seemed to accept that his date had been crashed. ‘Yeah, take the kid on that death trap you pointed out earlier.’
‘The one you said would put your heart to the test?’ Abby asked.
Wymack huffed. ‘We’ll meet you by the tables.’
‘Are you sure?’ Neil asked Abby. ‘If you don’t want to—’
He trailed off when he saw that Abby’s green eyes were alight with excitement. She clutched his arm. ‘Come on, Josten. Don’t chicken out on me now.’
Neil couldn’t help but laugh as she dragged him across the fairground. The years between nurse and striker fell away, and suddenly they were both kids, nervously boarding a ride called The Crazy Coaster that allegedly spun as it sped over the tracks.
Abby’s joyful squeals accompanied the swoop in Neil’s gut at every drop, making him laugh harder. They took the first two dips facing forwards, but the biggest one was coming, and their carriage was turning.
‘Oh, god. Oh, god,’ Abby gasped, her hand fumbling for Neil’s. ‘Neil, we’re backwards.’
Neil managed a hysterical, ‘What do you want me to do about it?’
Abby finally caught his hand and gave it a firm squeeze. Neil held tight to the woman who had patched him up so many times he’d lost count, who kissed his forehead and cheered him on at every game, who brought him on this stupid ride and showed him that surrendering your control to wheels and cogs and gravity could actually be fun.
The two of them shared a pair of frenzied grins as Abby said, ‘Here we go,’ and then they were falling.

Okay so what if
Jean's thrashing in his sleep, he accidentally hurts Jeremy and he feels so guilty and scared because the whole captain thing. (He keeps reminding himself that Jeremy is not Riko but he can't help but still tense up as he sees the bruises on Jeremy's neck)
Anyways Kevin by happenstance visits that day and Jean gets infinitely worse after. So when Jeremy and Kevin decide to go to the court they bring Jean along because they don't want to leave him alone and catalaila are shopping. when Jeremy and Kevin change Jean averts his eyes and stares at the ground, his hand shaking.
Jean decides to sit on the bench and when they get back home he runs to the washroom. He tells Jeremy and the girls he'll be out in a moment (not Kevin, because he knows what would transpire). He locks the door as Kevin's on the porch calling Andrew and immediately shatters the mirror, he can't bear to see himself after what he did to Jeremy. It was just a knee jerk Jeremy had said but what if it wasn't? What if Jean was exactly like the other Ravens?
Jeremy of course hears the noise and Jean hears the pounding of a door but he ignores it. He keeps smashing the mirror until his hand is bruised and bloody. He takes the shards and runs it over his skin and its almost like he can feel riko hovering over him punishing him slowly with a blade against his skin.
Pain was good. Pain was familiar. Causing pain to others? That was terrifying. He saw how Jeremy winced as his hand tightened against the boy's throat in fear. Jeremy should've had his hands on him, not the other way around.
Kevin rushes in and its like the entire scene from Palmetto post rikos death is happening in real time. Hes trying to shove down the door as he hears the water running.
He tells Jeremy to stand back and breaks down the door to get to Jean. Jean is on the floor, wounds on his arms once again split open, his eyes staring at Kevin and Jeremy is shock and he slowly backs away as Kevin stalks towards him - blade making cuts near his throat.
Kevin tries to pry it away from him but this causes him to clutch onto it tightly causing him to wince and drop the shard once his hands also started bleeding.
They go to Jeremy and Jean's shared room as Jeremy prepares a bucket of water and cloth and the medical supplies for Jean. Then he hears shouting, and a loud sob from Jean. He wants to rush in and help but as he peaks into the doorway watching as Jean now on top of Kevin, his face against his chest as he cries out to Kevin and Kevin slowly strokes his hair. Then Jean kisses Kevin gently at first and pours his love into after, all the lost time into it. He hears Jean and Kevin talking in French.
Jeremy walks away, leaving the bucket outside. He's happy that Jean and Kevin finally worked out whatever complicated issues they have amongst eachother but he can't help the sinking feeling that he would want to switch positions with Kevin and be on the receiving side of the boy's affection

A short study on Aaron Minyard.
(Bless you @eeriethacus for the ideas and encouragement)
He could have blamed Andrew for everything.
For what had happened to him. For Tilda. For how he felt after all these years.
After seeing how the other Foxes got on with their lives. How they formed relationships, hell even Dan found a father in Wymack.
But Aaron, oh Aaron.
Aaron begged and pleaded with himself to find normalcy, to be good. To be wanted by someone and not be discarded by morning, either by the girl he shared a bed with that night or by himself as disgust and a need to wash it all away came over him.
He blamed it on his classes, on being too stressed and needing to seek out a new stress reliever now that Andrew had forced his hand cleaned.
He couldn't help the sick that came over him, remembering his pitiful form on the bathroom floor, begging, pleading, wanting to be let out and held. Crying out for Andrew to forgive him and for Tilda, despite never having received warmth from her to begin with.
It was a funny thing, Aaron wanting a mother's love when he didn't know what it felt like in the first place. Wanting a woman's love. Wanting the warmth he saw other's received. Watching and living vicariously through the couples that roamed Palmetto campus, or how the danced together in the clubs. How someone, anyone, everyone went home with someone. Everyone but him.
He had tried, bless him he did. He had tried with the flirting, the flowers, the small gifts, the dates. Asking even Matt for advice one time, turning to Allison to find out what women liked and why it wasn't him.
His problem spiraled soon enough, from his first year to his second. He had gone from seeking out someone to date, to hold, to love. To fill whatever he was missing. He had turned to hookups, one night stands.
The touch soothed his aches, lost between the legs of faces that blurred together over the months, searching and craving to be satisfied, but it was more than that. There was something wrong with him.
At least thats what he told himself, and tried to ignore. Ignore how Tilda had pushed boundaries that weren't sexual, but made him throw any care of himself out of the window, unable to say no to a pretty face that spille silky words from their mouth's, Eve drawing Adam to the apple.
Unable to tell them no when he found himself in a new bed and slowly Andrew's warning were being headed and understood.
He couldn't help it, not until red hair came flashing across his vision. She was sweet. A cheerleader transfer. She didn't seem all too interested in him though, as the other had been, but he knew that when he was told no to an offer, to back off.
He watched from afar as she mingled with the right crowd, one Aaron couldn't think to ever find himself in. Watched as she was pined and sought after. As if she was a prize, or a piece of meat laid at the feet of baying dogs. Most men were if given the chance.
Aaron didn't think himself much different, even if his motives were kinder, even though he kept to himself after she said no and sought after what he knew in ofher places, was he not still like those men whistling and calling her name as she walked past?
It wasn't until he was in the library, studying for exams before Columbia when she approached, sitting across from him and asking for help with her studies. That she heard he was great in the curriculum, one of the bests. He hadn't known what to do then other than dumbly nod his head and do as she asked.
Soon the study sessions turned into hangouts, always at hers never at his. And the hangouts turned into dates. He was waiting for the shoe to drop, for her to lash out or get bored of this game that he so eagerly wanted to play a part of.
She didn't though. She stayed. She stayed after Andrew confronted her, after he told her he wasn't what she truly wanted. A part of him hoped that if he scared her off enough, the brutality of another gap would sting a little less. It only confused him more when she stayed.

Crown of Glory: A Hair Growth Working
This is a simple working that is meant to be a fun addition to your hair care routine. I am using this as a weekly hair oil treatment. Feel free to use all of it, parts of it, or none at all. It’s your hair journey, so make it your own! Go wild and create your own working if you would like, too. I will post updates in the next few months of the results.
Hair, that crowning glory atop our heads, has long been revered as a symbol of power, vitality, and spiritual connection. It is said to be an extension of the self, a tangible manifestation of inner strength and identity. In bygone eras, hair was so cherished that its loss was often seen as a sign of misfortune or a weakening of the spirit.
This working is a form of Wortcunning, where magick and medicinal plant knowledge intertwine. This hair growth oil is infused with herbs known to help stimulate hair growth, combat hair loss & thinning hair, breakage, and nourish the scalp. It is essential to remember that while magick can be a potent tool, it is not a replacement for proper hair care and a healthy lifestyle. Nourish your body from within, and let this working be a catalyst for transformation.
As with all workings, approach this spell with reverence and intention. Harness the power of nature and your own inner strength to cultivate a Crown of Glory worthy of royalty.
Ingredients for the Crown of Glory Hair Growth Oil:
To harness the power of nature for lush, thriving hair, I have carefully selected a blend of potent herbs and oils.
Rosemary: Renowned for its hair-growth-stimulating properties, rosemary has been shown to rival the effects of commercial hair growth treatments.
Nettle Root: Rich in nutrients, nettle root helps combat hair loss by inhibiting DHT, a hormone linked to thinning hair.
Saw Palmetto Berries: Traditionally used to address hair loss, Saw Palmetto Berries offers support for overall hair health.
Garden Sage: Stimulating blood circulation to the scalp, sage encourages thicker hair growth and pairs beautifully with rosemary.
Horsetail (Herb): Packed with silica, this herb strengthens hair strands, preventing breakage and promoting growth.
Evening Primrose Oil: Nourishing both new and existing hair, evening primrose oil contributes to longer, healthier locks.
Safflower Oil: A lightweight carrier oil, safflower oil aids in absorption of the herbal properties while also stimulating hair growth at the cellular level, and nourishes the scalp. Liquid Coconut Oil can also be used.
To maximize the potency of the ingredients, the oil infusion process spanned a full 30-day moon cycle. However, a rapid infusion method can also be employed for those seeking a quicker remedy. There are plenty of resources and videos on YouTube on both of these methods.
______________________________________________________________
Ingredients Used For Working:
I painted my workspace with chalkboard paint, but don't worry if you can't! Any flat surface or even paper will work as long as your candles are safe and sound in holders while burning.
Hair Growth Oil or Your favorite hair growth oil
4 green candles ( I used chime candles)
Green chalk (white is a good sub)
Blessing oil (I use a mix of Frankincense & Myrrh with clear quartz crystal inside the bottle... all charged by a full moon)
A Bluetooth speaker
Frankincense & Myrrh Incense Cones
____________________________________________________________
Steps For My Working:
First, let's get your space ready for magick! Cleanse everything up, and give your candles and tools a little cleansing & consecrating. I love burning Frankincense & Myrrh incense for this part.
Next, you can write "Hair Growth" or whatever phrase/keywords work for you on your green candles, starting from the bottom and going up. Put them safely in their holders and drip your blessing oil on each candle.
Next, draw a spiral with green chalk, starting from the outside and working your way in. Then, draw little arrows pointing from your candles to the spiral. This is like focusing all the candle magick into one powerful spot!
Now at the spiral's heart, position the speaker and place your bottled hair growth oil on top of the speaker. I used a hair growth frequency to pulse through it, like a sonic energy spell to charge and attune the oil.
youtube
Then you will want to turn on the music and light those candles. Remember to light them going clockwise – it's like winding up the working.
Now as the music plays and the candles flicker, close your eyes and picture your Crown of Glory! While you’re visualizing your dream hair, say this:
By the power of nature's might, May my hair grow strong and bright. Roots deep, strands long and free, A crown of glory, wild and free. Grow, my locks, strong and deep, Let ancient powers your spirit keep. With every drop, a potent spell, To break the bonds where tresses dwell. Crown my head with growth anew, May hair flourish, strong and true. Let follicles awaken, deep and sound, As vital force is richly found. As this oil is blessed and shaken, May hair growth be fully awakened.
When all the candles are finished burning, you can clean up your space. You can throw away or recycle things as you normally would.
____________________________________________________________
May the Gods, Goddesses, and Moon bless your workings, and may the universe conspire in your favor. Happy Casting Seekers!

Understanding Saw Palmetto and Its Benefits for Men's Health
Introduction to Saw Palmetto
Saw palmetto, derived from the berries of the Serenoa repens plant, has been used for centuries in traditional medicine. Today, it’s gaining recognition for its potential benefits in addressing various health issues, particularly for men. Nutriherbs offers high-quality saw palmetto capsules designed to support those dealing with benign prostate hyperplasia (BPH), urinary tract problems, pelvic pain, bladder disorders, and hormonal imbalances.
What is Benign Prostate Hyperplasia (BPH)?
BPH is a common condition in older men, characterized by an enlarged prostate gland. This enlargement can lead to uncomfortable urinary symptoms, such as frequent urination, difficulty starting and stopping urination, and a weak urine stream. While BPH is not cancerous, it can significantly impact quality of life.
The Role of Saw Palmetto in BPH
Research suggests that saw palmetto may help reduce the symptoms associated with BPH. The active compounds in saw palmetto berries can inhibit the conversion of testosterone to dihydrotestosterone (DHT), a hormone linked to prostate enlargement. By balancing hormone levels, saw palmetto may promote better urinary function and relieve discomfort.
Urinary Tract Health and Saw Palmetto
In addition to its benefits for prostate health, saw palmetto may also support urinary tract health. It has anti-inflammatory properties that can soothe the urinary tract, helping to alleviate symptoms such as burning sensations and urgency. Nutriherbs' saw palmetto capsules provide a convenient and effective way to promote overall urinary health.
Addressing Pelvic Pain and Bladder Disorders
Chronic pelvic pain and bladder disorders can be debilitating and often go untreated. Saw palmetto’s anti-inflammatory and analgesic properties may offer relief from these symptoms, making it a valuable supplement for those suffering from conditions like interstitial cystitis or prostatitis. The holistic approach of Nutriherbs’ saw palmetto capsules can contribute to overall pelvic health.
Hormonal Balance and Saw Palmetto
Hormonal imbalances can lead to a variety of health issues, including mood swings, weight gain, and decreased libido. Saw palmetto may play a role in supporting hormonal balance, particularly in men. By regulating testosterone levels and potentially reducing excess DHT, it can contribute to better overall well-being.
Why Choose Nutriherbs Saw Palmetto Capsules?
Quality Assurance: Nutriherbs is committed to sourcing high-quality ingredients and ensuring that each batch of saw palmetto capsules meets rigorous standards for purity and potency.
Convenience: The capsules are easy to incorporate into your daily routine, allowing you to reap the benefits without the hassle of preparing herbal remedies.
Holistic Health: Nutriherbs focuses on comprehensive health solutions, making their saw palmetto capsules an integral part of a balanced wellness regimen.
Conclusion
For men facing the challenges of BPH, urinary tract problems, pelvic pain, bladder disorders, or hormonal imbalances, saw palmetto presents a natural and effective solution. Nutriherbs' saw palmetto capsules offer a convenient way to support your health and well-being. Always consult with a healthcare professional before starting any new supplement to ensure it’s right for you. For the next WIP Wednesday would you mind writing a little more of New Kings from when they get back to Palmetto? I'm loving the insights from Wymack of Andreils reunion and I'd love to see what one of the other foxes thinks of it
WIP Wednesday (8/2/23) (OPEN) | New Kings AU
What followed was Andrew taking the sleeping pills, fussing with the blanket for over 5 minutes as Neil struggled valiantly to stay awake so Andrew could move him however he pleased. Finally Andrew had the blanket secured around both of them. Wymack couldn't see exactly what was going on under the blanket but he didn't need to see to know that Andrew and Neil were holding hands.
Neil's head came to rest on Andrew's shoulder and Andrew's own face was pillowed in Neil's brown hair. Wymack watched them fall asleep quickly and watched as the lines on both of his player's faces smoothed in sleep.
Wymack leaned back in his chair, watching the flight attendant go through the safety lecture.
He probably should have taken the aisle.
***
Wymack had needed to wake Neil and Andrew up once during the flight for a bathroom break but otherwise the two slept throughout the flight and he managed to stop a flight attendant from touching Andrew's shoulder when the drinks were coming through. "He's all good. Don't worry about it." he had said and she had moved on.
They landed rather late for South Carolina time. It was the shock of a rather rough landing that woke Neil from his sleep and when Neil woke so did Andrew though his goalie was far more irritable and kept trying to drag Neil back down to sleep saying it'd be a while before they actually could get off the plane.
It didn't take a lot to convince Neil.
Eventually though Wymack had gotten them both up when the plane was nearly emptied aside from them and the people who needed additional assistance to get up.
Wymack turned his phone back on and saw a whole slew of missed messages but didn't bother to read them now.
