oh davey’s parents are fucking great in this fic. they may rib him for being a little freaky but they’re SO supportive of him. mayer may be a little clueless but he wears a “Proud Dad” shirt to davey’s first pride parade, and when davey starts experimenting with makeup in college and shows up wearing winged liner and lipstick to family dinner, esther takes him into her the bathroom and teaches him how to get a sharper wing so it’s not as shaky. esther holds him in highschool when he has boy troubles and needs to cry it out, mayer accidentally gets really invested in season 5 of drag race while watching with davey and is a little bit in love with jinkx monsoon, and both are involved with their local PFLAG chapter. also i am envisioning their vibes to be very bob and linda belcher-esque.

also also. they have two queer children- the twins- and one horrifically straight child- les. les is just as big of an ally as his parents. he has davey’s number saved in his phone as “freakazoid” and has sarah’s saved as “sarabiner”.

as for davey’s friends, he meets most of them at college! the core group is charlie, racer, albert, spot (uksies), and katherine- and when he meets jack, he goes straight to race and kath. i think the dynamics are: davey and kath and race are besties, al is race’s boyfriend and eventually gets super close with sarah, charlie is race’s brother who gets super close with jack when he joins the group, spot is close with both kath and davey in different ways, and all of then are friends enough to hang out together regardless of who’s closest to who.
