Booths and stalls lined up both sides of various roads.
Rows of lanterns hung from the treelines to the lampposts.
Droves of people flocked. From wearing kimonos to just plain snuggly attire to battle the coldness.
Praying at the shrines to make wishes for the coming year came first.
After that, chaos ensued.
A squealing Nobara hurried over to embrace her lifelong friends Fumi-chan and Saori-chan before introducing them to Maki who was keeping it cool to Nobara's admiration.
Kento brushes something off Yu's scarred cheek only for the younger man to kiss his stern partner fully on the mouth.
A teasing Mai and Momo along with a reluctant but curious Kasumi dragging a stubborn blushing Kokichi off to doll him up with various trinkets and hats they spotted at various booths.
Ieiri and Utahime trying to catch some goldfish at one of those booths. Utahime shouting out her constant success at catching them fishes; her competitiveness shining through, and Ieiri calmly cheering her wife on.
Yuji laughed while Megumi and Junpei smiled at his radiant expression while chowing down on barbecue skewers together.
That was long before your salmon haired boi yelled out in alarm as a heated Todo chased him in his fervent pursuit to drag his brother off to see the Takada-chan's New Year's Eve live special screening at Shibuya crossing.
Noritoshi eating a kebab as Yuki filmed the whole chase beside him, aimed at Choso as he let Yuji jump into his arms and speed off with Todo right at their heels, dust clouds left in their wake.
Riko and Misato shooting darts at a gaming booth all to get the familiar looking, long as hell, rainbow dragon plush to the girls delight.
Atsuya dragged his bae Hiromi by his collar into the nearest bar just to get away from your group and drink to their retired hearts content.
Masamichi and Yoshinobu sharing sake in the place across from said bar.
Yuta kissed both Rika and Toge on their stuffed cheeks as their mouths were full of sweets; mochi cheeks he spotted in his mesmerized gaze.
Right before Panda, carrying plushies by the armful, dumped his winnings all over his ecstatic buddies.
Spotting Toji and Shiu amiss the crowd, eyeing his son as his protective brother instincts creaked out as he played tug of war with Tsumiki who was stubbornly set on kissing a dopey grinning Junpei some more as her lipstick marked his rosey cheek.
Toji snorted at the sight before being dragged off by the arm by Shiu, opting to get a better view, a less crowded spot at that.
Nanako and Mimiko running around with sparklers lite.
Tears filled up your eyes to the brim.
Seeing so much happiness.
So much positivity.
All amassing here.
All in this moment.
Together.
Your mind flashed.
What could have been …
Buildings sliced and diced to mince.
Magma erupts from the streets, encasing all in its range.
A circle of darkness that continues to grow.
No lights.
No life.
Barred from all.
You were getting caught up in your mind too much lately.
Thinking too much, wandering in too deep, letting intrusive thoughts cloud the light.
Your knees trembled, your grip slipping, you wrap around your belly, prepared to not let it get the brunt of the fall.
“Y/n!”
His long raven locks flowed in the breeze. His almond brown eyes are so vibrant and sharp and alive.
“Sugu!” You weeped immediately into his charcoal robes, grasping handfuls of his front, alarming him tremendously.
“Y/n! Be careful! What's wrong!?”
“I'm just so happy we're all together celebrating tonight!” Your waterworks hit him right in the face as he led you two to a bench to rest your bloated sore self.
“Tiredness, mood swings, they do come with pregnancy, love.” Suguru calmly explained as you clung to him, pulling your legs up to rest on the space left on the bench.
“Perhaps we should take you home early. I am terribly sorry if we pushed you too much with coming here … jeez. Now where did Satoru go this time?”
Warping right by your side nearly gave you a heart attack. Even still, you were never quite prepared for Toru's spontaneity.
Getting down on one knee, Satoru tenderly caressed and smooched your clothed bump. “Right here~!”
“Toru!” You yanked the man up by his sleeve, having him sit beside you as well as he draped your legs over his lap as he let you cuddle him and weep in his neck.
His shades titled down to reveal his devoted gaze as he carefully pulled you atop his lap, nuzzling your head as he exchanged smooches with Suguru. “Aww, wifey. It's okay. We're here. Just think. A new year. New hijinks. New possibilities!”
Suguru's head rested on your shoulder as his heated breath made you mewl. “And a new addition to our family.”
Viewing the kids all animated, the adults mingling, the buzz in the air, it all helped to ease the unrest in your hormonal self.
“I hope we can continue living out our somewhat sense of peace in the new year.” You murmured, humming as they gently smothered you in their plush chests and secure arms.
“Agreed.” Their giant sculpted hands felt your bump together, wistfully grinning as you smiled shedding tears of joy.
An upbeat song blared out through the speakers.
Next thing you know, few turned to many dancing.
Lost in paradise.
For a dance mob has formed.
Yugi, returning out of the blue, took the lead, bopping with his usual upbeat finesse.
Megumi wasn't dancing, more like bashfully scratching the back of his head, too shy to look anyone in the eye, until a beaming Yuji had him, helping his boyfriend loosen up.
Nobara twirled and swirled, tugging her girls in to all get in sync and flaunting their beautiful strong selves.
And Gojo, in all his glory, was swaying with style, cause of course he wanted to get down most of all. Yuta, Yuji, Megumi, even the twins flanked both his sides, strutting their stuff.
From Takuma to Choso to even Panda, everyone you knew found the groove. From found family to your work buddies. Even the tipsy adults. Even the former assassin and his handler buddy. Even a well disguised Nobuko who had her bodyguards on standby also in disguise warily kept their eyes on the heart eyed Aoi Todo.
The dancing flash mob you never expected to happen did in fact happen.
They clapped, they swayed, they spun, they did it all!
The ships sailed as many familiar faces knew how to dance so acrobatically well. Leave the sight to the imagination.
Fireworks began littering the sky.
The billboard's timer struck 00:00.
Cheers and claps rang as embraces were exchanged.
You giggled as Suguru Geto swept you up in his arms, cupping the back of your head and your cheek to kiss you passionately.
You just had to ask.
“Where would I be without all of you?”
Satoru warped again back to you just to smirk at your jump scare. “Probably bored out of your mind.” You and Suguru shut your white haired husband up by slapping his shoulders to his snickering amusement.
“It goes both ways, Satoru.”
“Aw, I love you too Suguru~” He pulled his shades up to rest on his head as those Six Eyes glowed with love for the growing life in your belly you three made together. “All of you.”
You two peppered kisses all over Satoru's laughing face as the rest of your found family danced the first night of the new year away.

When I was in first grade, Saori-chan moved to our village from Tokyo. She was as cute as a doll and as kind as a nun. Yet Saori-chan was ostracized by the villagers. "She thinks country folks are dumb," they said, letting themselves get paranoid, and in the end… they drove her out. Calling it sickening wouldn't be enough. She brought all these homemade sweets I'd never heard of and said, "The ones from the bakery are even better," with a smile as she treated me to them. If I had stayed in that village… If I had stayed in that village, I'd be good as dead. Saori-chan, I made it to Tokyo. If we ever meet here, take me to that bakery you mentioned.

HISTORY
Tumblr media
Born to Lysandra Mortis, a woman renowned for her otherworldly beauty and rumored to possess magical powers, Hikari's early years were tainted by tragedy.
Lysandra, a prostitute whose enchanting beauty captivated her clients, met a grim fate at the hands of one of them, leaving behind a small baby with eyes as bright as the stars. Lux, as she was named, was born into a country torn apart by conflict, and her mother’s death added to the countless casualties of the war. Her father was never in the picture; leaving her orphaned and alone at a young age. Lux was placed in an orphanage, where she endured years of neglect and hardship like the majority of children that were victims of the war.
Lux inherited her mother’s rare beauty, which captivated those around her. She was considered a beautiful child, with bright turquoise eyes resembling gemstones and ivory, long wavy hair, decorated with a pale, almost doll like skin; which made her stand out among the multitude of children.
Thanks to this, Hikari was given nice treatments, she was given beautiful clothes, toys, and delicious food that she had never even seen in her life; along with a room of her own that was in a better state than the others. However, her beauty became both a blessing and a curse when the orphanage's caretakers, desperate to make ends meet amidst the chaos of war, started offering children up as merchandise and "entertainment" for the aristocrats in the country.
Lux was one of the first children to be offered, and she quickly became one of the most popular among the aristocracy to use. She quickly gained fame by being compared to her mother, some of them called her“little Mortis”, directly comparing them. They enjoyed seeing the bruises form in her skin, and the contrast the scarlet of her blood made against the white of her hair.
Her innocence was ripped from her without a warning, leaving behind scars that ran deeper than the surface ones showed.
Hikari’s only comfort was a small group of kids she met through Kou, a bright child that approached her one day in the aristocrat-filled clubs, a victim of the same fate she had endured.
One day, a tall man with white hair, arrived at the orphanage, promising hope and happiness to Lux and her friends. Karlheinz was his name. He took Lux and four boys to the demon world, where Lux would see her best friends for the last time.
Waking up in an unfamiliar room, Lux found herself alone with Karlheinz, who revealed they were in Rotigenberg, her new home. Karlheinz, aware of Lux's potential from her mother's stories, began experimenting with his magic on her. He gifted her a new heart crafted from his powerful magic, granting her abilities beyond those of a normal human. His plan was starting, and she was to be one of the first subjects.
However, as his experiments progressed, it became apparent that Lux's severe trauma rendered her unfit for the role of the perfect "Eve" he so craved. “Lilith” he called her. The original, broken one.
Disappointed by his failed experiment, Karlheinz slowly withdrew his presence from Lux's life, leaving her alone in the tower where she had been subjected to his experiments.
The abandonment by Karlheinz, after initially showering her with attention and affection, shattered Lux's fragile state of mind. Faced with reminders of her past torment, she resorted to drastic measures to cope with her pain, including cutting off her long, silver hair that made all the memories from her childhood come back like a knife against her skin.
Years passed, and just when Lux had resigned herself to a life of solitude, Karlheinz returned with a new proposition. He presented her as a crucial component of his Adam and Eve project, a pawn in his game now started game with fate. He renamed her Hikari, meaning "light," perhaps as a cruel reminder of the beacon of hope she once represented. Desperate for a sense of belonging, Lux accepted her new identity and dyed her hair brown as a symbol of her desire to leave her painful past behind, she grew it again, but kept it shorter than it used to be in her childhood, and resorted to wearing thick chokers again.
She had one mission, to serve as motivation for them to fulfill his plan. She was then sent to the Sakamaki mansion under the excuse of a new bride, her true motives hidden beneath a façade of compliance and obedience perfectly crafted to charm the potential "Adam"s.
RELATIONSHIPS
WIP
ABILITIES
Immortality - Hikari ceased to age due to Karlheinz's experiments, and cannot die of natural causes. Her immune system is almost perfect, so human illnesses don't really affect her, she can only die if the wounds are too much for her body to heal itself.
Faster Healing - Her body has the ability to heal from injuries at an accelerated rate. Wounds that would be dangerous to humans heal within a short moment for her.
Enhanced senses - Hikari’s senses are heightened to be more than a normal human's. She can see better, hear better, and moves with grace and agility that surpasses human limitations.
Magic - It's unknown if Hikari's talent with magic is due to Karlheinz own magic or due to her mother's supposed one; but it seems she has an easier ability to it than a common human.
ETYMOLOGY
Hikari's name is written in katakana, but can also be written in kanji as 光.
Both of her names Hikari (ヒカリ) and Lux (ルクス) mean "Light" - Lux being in Latin and Hikari in Japanese, her name just seems to be a translation unlike how the Mukami's have different original names. (Like Yuma being called Edgar and Kou Emilio).
Her last name "Vanthorn" (ヴァンソーン) comes from the word "Vanus" in Latin, which means "vain" and the English word thorn.
Her real last name, "Mortis" comes from the Latin word "Mors" which means death.

“So, do you plan on bringing a fourth kid into the family?” It was meant as a joke but Sasuke almost spat out his drink having to move Sarada on his lap encase it spilled on her. She didn’t pay any mind and continued to happily baby babble to Boruto.
“Your joking, right?” And here he thought Naruto was starting to act mature suggesting to meet up at the park rather than his usual ramen stand. He even insisted on bringing the kids along for them to also bond, his older twins Satomi and Saori were playing in the flowers still in sight since they knew not to go off to far whilst the four of them sat on the bench.
This wasn’t the type of conversation he imagined.
“Well, it’s not like you have to have them right now. I’m just curious if you and Sakura-Chan talked about it.” Not really, talking about more kids didn’t seem necessary when Sarada herself couldn’t speak yet and the twins were still young needing all their attention.
“Where is this coming from?” At first Naruto seemed to hesitate to reply, almost embarrassed which wasn’t like him at all.
“Me and Hinata were talking last night, and we decided that once Boruto’s old enough we might try for another. I mean seeing your older two act with Sarada got me thinking that I didn’t want Boruto to be an only child. And I’m sure he’ll be a great older brother too.”
Ah, that made sense.
“So, you wanting another kid means we must? Do you not remember Sakura giving birth to twins?”
“Hey! I’m fully aware, I was only curious since I’m sure Sakura-Chan would love to have a kid that isn’t a copy and paste of you.”
Touché. He smirked rolling his eyes.
“Very funny.” The two were then interrupted when he felt a light tug on his sleeve to see his two daughters with flower crowns.
“Papa, Papa, look, we made flower crowns for Sawada and Bowuto.” They smiled, Satomi put one on Sarada and she clapped delighted whilst Saori put hers on Boruto who only blinked seemingly confused at what was on his head.
He then made a little fuss not liking it.
“Aww, I think it looks cute buddy.” Although cute was probably not the look Boruto was going for. Naruto then turned his attention to the girls asking them questions.
Sasuke couldn’t help but smile fondly at his daughters talking animatedly. Yes, he was perfectly content with his little family and if they did end up having another baby in the future, he has no doubt they’ll be loved and taken care of just as much.
The twins were planned, or at least one of them was.
When Sakura first told him the news, full of excitement and glee it wasn’t long until the rest of his family found out and they even had a small celebration for them.
And then she found out they were having twins. Embarrassingly Sasuke had fainted on the spot after hearing this, not his finest hour he’ll admit. It was one thing expecting a baby on their first but twins. She was so small, and whilst he had no doubt his wife could take care of herself Sasuke had refused to take any missions until the two were delivered safety. Even with his mother insisting that they would take care of her or his in laws. Sasuke didn’t like the idea of leaving Sakura alone knowing she was carrying not one but two of their babies.
Sarada on the other hand wasn’t planned but after the first two, they were more confident in what they were doing. He felt more at ease on taking missions and leaving her by herself. But he still made sure to ask his or Sakura’s parents to take care/keep an eye on her. Sakura was also excited since Naruto and Hinata were expecting which meant their little one already had a play date.
The thought of adding another baby… what kind of surprise would they have installed for them.
“What if she ends up on having triplets?” Having triplets would mean there would also be a chance for them to be three girls and whilst Sasuke didn’t care for the gender, the thought of having six (as if three wasn’t enough) girls and having to deal with all the boys, heartbreak…
His stomach turned queasy at the thought.
“Uh, Sasuke you okay? You look kind of pale.”

The Beginning
Tumblr media
The classroom is loud with the sound of third-graders packing up their belongings and emptying the room as the school day comes to an end. You quickly rush to pack your own backpack, a stark contrast to your classmates who are laughing with their friends. The quicker you leave, the more likely you are to avoid any form of attention.
You’re trying so hard to remain invisible that you completely miss your name repeatedly being called. It’s only when a balled-up piece of paper hits the side of your head that you startle before freezing.
The loud burst of giggles that follows your reaction catches your attention and you look at the group of four girls that are crowded around one desk. You glance around the room to see that other than a few stragglers, you’re on your own.
“Sorry. Were you talking to me?” you ask nervously, your eyes darting down to your backpack where your fingers are fidgeting with the zipper. Another round of muffled giggles has your cheeks burning with embarrassment.
“You look so scared,” Hana, the girl at the center of the group and almost certainly the one to have thrown the paper ball at you, teases. “We’re not gonna hurt you or anything.”
You chew on your bottom lip anxiously, fighting the instinct to curl in on yourself defensively.
“Sorry,” you repeat, the word sounding small. “What did you say?”
“What’s your Quirk? We’re trying to decide whose is the coolest,” Hana says before rolling her eyes. “But I don’t know why we’re bothering, mine is definitely the best.”
With a smug smile, she holds up her hand, palm facing up, and looks at it for a few moments. As she continues to concentrate, her skin begins to turn soft pink and beautiful cherry blossoms start to very slowly emerge from her palm.
“Ahh, Hana-chan! Your Quirk is so pretty,” Hana’s best friend, Miyoko, gushes as the other girls sitting around her join in with their own sounds of awe.
“So, what’s your Quirk?” Hana asks you, not looking away from her hand where a small pile of cherry blossoms continues to slowly grow.
“Oh, it’s nothing special,” you mumble, self-consciously dropping your gaze to your shoes. “Definitely nothing like yours.”
“Obviously. No one’s is like mine,” Hana scoffs. “So, what is it?”
The group of girls look away from Hana’s petals and toward you expectantly. Unsure what else you can do, you start to toy with the zipper of your backpack.
“Um, it’s called Immunity?” you tentatively answer, although it sounds much more like a question. The girls all look at you with confusion.
“Immunity?” one of the girls, Saori, asks.
“Quirks don’t work on me,” you explain and something about their curiosity gives you just the little bit of courage you needed.
You walk towards Hana’s desk and reach out to touch her hand and demonstrate your Quirk. The moment that your finger touches her, her skin returns to its normal color and the seemingly unending flow of cherry blossoms comes to a sudden halt.
“Wow,” Miyoko breathes with wide eyes and you shyly smile.
With everyone’s attention now on you and your eyes timidly starting back down at the floor, no one sees the way Hana crushes the delicate cherry blossoms in her hand as she makes an angry fist.
“Yeah, so if someone tries to use their Quirk on me or I touch someone using their Quirk, then it stops working,” you continue.
You glance up to see that the girls are all looking at you with keen interest and you feel a small flutter in your stomach. Maybe your Quirk has opened the door. Maybe this is your chance. Maybe now they’ll finally see you as one of them.
But the small ray of hope is blocked and an overwhelming pit of anxiety that you’re all too familiar with replaces it at Hana’s next words.
“That’ll be really useful when you become a villain!” she points out, a deep maliciousness lurking just underneath her enthusiastic tone.
Your gaze immediately drops back down as you silently beg for the floor to open up and swallow you whole — anything to disappear from this moment.
“The heroes won’t be able to use their Quirks to stop you so you can do whatever you want!” Hana says eagerly. Following her lead, the other girls begin to laugh, any trace of interest in your Quirk now gone.
“Yeah! That’s a villain’s Quirk,” the fourth girl, Naomi, eagerly agrees. You can feel your face heating and you grip tightly onto the fabric of your uniform’s skirt.
“I’m not gonna be a villain,” you protest, your voice small.
“You’re already a villain,” Hana scoffs, making the other girls giggle again. “My mom told me to stay away from you. She said your whole family is dangerous.”
You weakly shake your head, angry with yourself as your vision starts to sting with unshed tears.
“We’re not villains,” you mumble and you hear the screeching of a chair scraping across the floor as Hana stood up.
“The people who go into your house don’t come out alive,” she gleefully crows as she approaches you.
“Sounds like a villain to me, Hana-chan,” Saori comments, egging her on and you furiously rub your eyes to get rid of your tears.
“The heroes will probably get you soon, though,” Hana muses as her shoes come into your line of sight now that she’s standing directly in front of you. “They’ll get you and your whole family. They’ll lock them up in the villain prison.”
Despite the two of you being the same height, it seems like she’s looming over you as you continue to shrink in on yourself.
“Hey, Saori. Doesn’t your uncle work at the villain prison?” Hana turns back to her friend group to casually ask.
“Yeah, I heard him telling my dad about it. He said it’s awful. That the villains are locked up alone all day and no one can visit,” Saori answers and her words strike something deep inside of you.
“That’s what’s gonna happen to you and your whole villain family,” Hana says, focusing her attention and cruelty back on you. “They’re all gonna get thrown in there with no way out so you’ll be all alone, whether they get you or not.”
She then gives your shoulder a rough shove, causing you to stumble backward and the rest of the girls laugh at your expense. You flinch in anticipation as she reaches up to do it again but everyone freezes when your name is called from the doorway.
“Ch-Chisaki-kun,” Hana greets, nervousness in her voice as she turns her back to you so that she can face him. Blocked from his sight behind Hana, you quickly brush away the tears from your cheeks and eyes, trying to remove any evidence of what Kai is interrupting.
“What are you doing?” he asks, his tone dangerous even for a child.
The girls are all suspiciously silent, looking to Hana to come up with the excuse that will keep Kai’s anger at bay.
“We were just having fun,” Hana replies, the other girls nodding in agreement. She then looks at you with menacing and expectant eyes. “Isn’t that right?”
Your gaze remains trained on the floor, your toes curling anxiously inside of your shoes before you nod weakly as well.
“Yeah, don’t worry, Kai. We were just having fun,” you murmur, your voice sounding dull to your own ears. You can feel the frustration rolling off of Hana in waves at how unconvincing you are.
But she then returns to her desk and finally begins to pack up her things, the other three girls seizing the opportunity to follow suit and escape Kai’s attention.
“We were just talking about our Quirks. She’s got a cool one. There’s a lot she could do with it,” Hana continues, but you can hear what she’s really saying.
‘A lot she could do with it as a villain.’
“Well, we should get going,” she tells him as she swings her backpack over her shoulders, the other girls copying her actions. She gives you a friendly wave goodbye. “See you tomorrow.”
If you looked up, then you would have seen the ugly look she’s sending you. But, too scared to look anywhere that isn’t the floor, it goes unnoticed. The four girls then slip past Kai, who remains standing in the doorway. He follows them with narrowed eyes until they turn the corner in the hallway and disappear from sight.
Now alone in the empty classroom with Kai, you let out the breath you’ve been holding.
“What were they doing?” he asks, breaking the silence as he walks toward you.
“Nothing,” you mumble.
Instead of stopping before you, Kai moves past you. A few moments later, your backpack appears in front of you as he holds it out. You grab onto the handle, but when you try to take it from him, he holds onto it tightly. You look up at him with confusion.
“What were they doing?” he repeats and you drop your gaze back to the floor.
“They called me a villain,” you whisper and you hurriedly wipe away the tears that are brimming your eyes. Your next words feel heavy on your tongue, not wanting to have to repeat them aloud. “They said my Quirk was perfect for a villain because I can stop heroes.”
In your periphery, you can see the way Kai’s free hand curls into angry fists. You want to reach out and cover it with yours to try and calm him, but are too timid to actually do so.
“They don’t know what they’re talking about,” he snaps, his tone harsh enough that it has you flinching away from him despite knowing that his temper isn’t directed at you — it never is. “They think their Quirks are so special? They want to be heroes?”
You shrug, unable to answer him. Your mind is still wrapped up in Hana’s last insult to you.
“Hana said that the heroes were gonna put us all in the villain prison,” you say, your voice trembling.
“That’s never gonna happen. We’re yakuza, not villain dirt,” Kai replies.
“She said you would all go to prison and then I’d be left all alone,” you continue softly as if he hadn’t spoken. And somehow, your next question manages to sound even more pitiful. “You won’t leave me alone, right?”
“Never,” he assures you and you give a small nod in thanks.
There’s a long pause before Kai finally relinquishes his hold on your backpack so that it falls to your side, your fingers wrapped around the handle tightly.
“I’ll make sure they don’t bother you again,” he tells you and you nervously shake your head.
“Please don’t. They’ll just make fun of me more if you do,” you protest weakly. It wouldn’t be the first time Kai’s protectiveness had only worsened the bullying. When he remains silent, you beg him again. “Please, Kai.”
He exhales loudly and you glance up to see that although he looks unhappy, he doesn’t seem like he’s going to argue with you.
“Fine,” he grumbled, starting to turn away from you before pausing. “But if it happens again, I’ll make them sorry.”
Just as he begins to walk away, you instinctively reach out and grab the back of his shirt — a habit of yours that’s grown over time.
“Thank you for stopping them,” you murmur and you’re embarrassed when your eyes begin to sting with tears again as you remember just how scared you had been of their bullying. “They would have kept going if you weren’t there.”
“I’ll always stop them,” he promises.
“I know,” you say with a watery smile and a soft sniffle.
Kai turns around, causing you to let go of your hold on his shirt. He then interlaces his fingers with your now free ones and tugs you along after him out of the classroom. With him at your side, you finally feel safe enough to face the remaining students lingering through the hallways with their friends.
As long as Kai is with you, none of them would dare approach you. He’s your shield from the bullies who are intent on making your life a living hell.
But whatever sense of safety he gives you is quick to disappear the next morning when you walk into the classroom to find the classmates who are already present surrounding your desk. The mixture of laughter and chatter is deafening as dread settles heavily in your stomach.
They seem to slowly realize you’ve arrived because a path begins to open, allowing you to make your way through the crowd to your desk. You freeze, your heart dropping to the floor when you see why your desk has drawn so much attention.
In black marker, the word ‘VILLAIN’ is scrawled across its surface.
You can’t move and can’t look away. It’s through tears that you see the single cherry blossom petal on your chair.
The following events pass by in a blur, your shame and humiliation clouding your mind so thickly that it feels like there’s a wall keeping you insulated from everything that follows.
Your teacher’s gentle hand on your shoulder leads you from the classroom to the principal’s office. Your father picks you up from school and his comforting words fall on deaf ears. You curl up in your bed, hiding away from the rest of the world. Your housekeeper comes by intermittently to drop off tea, then lunch, then an afternoon snack — all of it going untouched.
None of it feels like it’s real.
You’re simply in a dream, a nightmare.
You’ve convinced yourself so thoroughly that you’ll wake up and everything will be fine that when you feel the duvet being lifted and someone small sliding into your bed behind you, you think that this must be part of your dream as well.
“I made her pay,” Kai’s voice breaks through your haze, his words wrapping you up like a security blanket. “They don’t get to hurt you.”
Silence settles over you, the rest of the afternoon and evening quickly slipping by until your housekeeper gently wakes you the next morning. You don’t even remember falling asleep. When you try to pull your duvet over your head, she pulls it back.
“I know you don’t want to, but your father said you need to go to school today,” she says, her tone soft and kind, as if she’s speaking to a wounded animal. “I’m sorry. I wish I could keep you here, but he said that you needed to present them with a brave face.”
With eyes swollen from all the crying that you’ve done and a head so heavy that it feels like it’s filled with cement, you simply nod and sit up. You’re too tired — and too obedient of a daughter — to argue with your father’s demand.
You go slowly through the motions of getting ready. Too anxious to eat the breakfast that’s laid out before you at Kai’s side, you play absently with your chopsticks until he’s ready to leave.
With your hand in his, the pair of you silently walk to school. When you reach the gates, your feet still and it’s only his tug on your hand that has you following behind him once more. You keep your eyes trained on your shoes, unable to look up and meet anyone’s gaze as you hear them whispering when you pass. When you both arrive at your classroom, he tries to let go of your hand but you cling to him tightly.
“It’s okay. No one will bother you,” he tells you and you glance up to meet his eyes. He looks so certain that after a long moment, you let go of his hand and he nods encouragingly.
Dropping your gaze again, you walk into the classroom. The relief you feel when you see that you’ve been given a brand-new desk calms you slightly. But your anxiety still remains largely unchecked as your classmates’ unintelligible whispers continue.
It’s only once you’re seated in your chair and can finally hear what the girl who sits behind you is saying that your sense of panic begins to abate, realizing that the whispers aren’t about you.
“...broke her leg,” she hisses across the aisle to the boy sitting next to her.
“How?” he asks curiously.
“She fell down the stairs. One of the teachers found her. They had to call an ambulance and everything,” she tells him and it feels like someone has poured a bucket of ice-cold water over you.
‘I made her pay.’
The words that Kai told you last night, the ones that you thought were part of your dream, the ones that made you feel so safe, ring in your ears.
“I saw the teachers all around her. I could see her bone!” one of your classmates loudly interrupts her, eager to show off, and she lets out a loud sound of disgust.
“No, you didn’t!” she argues.
“Yes, I did!” he retorts, angry that she doesn’t believe him. “It was so gross! And she wouldn’t stop crying and screaming.”
“Duh, she fell down the stairs and broke her leg. Wouldn’t you cry and scream?” the first boy points out.
The three of them continue to gossip with your back turned to them. All of it starts to blur together until you hear one of them finally say her name, confirming just who was at the center of the school’s gossip.
“Do you think Hana-chan can walk?”
“She probably just has to get a cast or something. I had to get one when I broke my arm last year,” you hear the girl reply before their whispering fades back into an indecipherable buzz to your ears.
As you look down at your clean desktop, you use your finger to write out the word that was scrawled across your old desk yesterday.
VILLAIN.
You then quickly wipe your hand over its surface, like doing so will erase both the word and the memory.
Maybe you should feel bad about what happened to Hana but all you can think about is how she had thrown that word around at you on an almost daily occurrence and how much time you’ve spent crying because of it.
And when she returns to class a couple of weeks later in a wheelchair and refuses to look in your direction, you decide that what happened to her — what Kai did to her — is alright.
Isn’t she the real villain? She tormented you. She laughed at you. She made you cry. She made sure no one would be your friend. Heroes don’t do that. Heroes are the ones who protect people from that.
And Kai is the one who protected you. It doesn’t matter that he fights with other students. It doesn’t matter that they’re scared of him. It doesn’t matter that he’s going to lead the yakuza one day.
Kai protected you from your villain.
And for that, you decide that Kai will always be your hero.

"Guys, look..." Hidaka Saori had been expecting this. She'd already doubted that the entirety of Merm4id could fit in one lift, all together, but this just confirmed her suspicions. "Weight limit, 1000 kilos." With a hand to her stomach to check that it was all there - and it was all her - Saori paled as she kept reading. "Thirteen people... Yeah, right." She grumbled. Thirteen people, or less than four members of Merm4id.
"One ton?" Mizushima Marika giggled, seemingly just as shocked as Saori at the group's collective obesity. Devoid of shame as usual, Marika lifted the hem of her top and fondled a handful of her own fat. "Geez, one ton, Rika-chan!" Slapping her belly, and then slapping Seto Rika's gut, Marika couldn't help but laugh. A year or two ago, Merm4id would have easily been amongst those thirteen, seventy-kilo humans.
"No, seriously guys." Saori huffed as she watched Rika-Marika enjoy their own huge, quarter-ton obesity. They preened over their gigantic sizes, ogling the space under Rika's tantalisingly tight crop-top, and beneath Marika's fashion-forward button-up as it struggled with her fat. "Someone's gotta stay behind, or we're gonna break something." Shivering as she felt more self-conscious than ever, Saori's other hand joined her first on the flank of her belly. It yawned over the hem of her shorts, nothing but pudge and fat hanging far enough to almost bury the tinny button in her own navel. She could feel the chilly mass of it, burrowing further into her fat-rolls with every breath. Shame mixed with utter horniness as the fact that Merm4id weighed an entire ton engulfed her like so much fat. Merm4id had eaten themselves into four quarter-ton sacks of meat, gorging themselves as izakayas and buffets, until waistbands burst and zippers tore. Merm4id weren't mermaids anymore; they were seals. Beached whales, that still tried to dance.
"I'll stay behind." Dalia had shimmied halfway through the elevator's doors, only sighing as she found that she'd have to somehow turn around and push her obese body they way that it'd come. "I am the-- the heaviest, after all." She groaned, feeling her huge belly ooze up against the side of the door. She'd worn what had been a properly-fitting t-shirt when she'd left her house, but by now the poor thing had been reduced to something much smaller. Dalia was so underdressed that the entire mass of her belly could be seen, drooping and drooling out of the bottom of the shirt. "I can wait." Breathing out so that she could actually fit, Dalia's chubby cheeks just huffed dejectedly.
"Dalia, thanks." Saori sweated, trying not to stare as the milky-chocolate of Dalia's gut wriggled away from her. "Sorry, for--" For what? It hadn't been Saori's idea for Merm4id to plump up. It hadn't been Saori that'd fed Dalia into a heaving mass of former-gym-bunny. Saori had nothing to apologize for - besides one thing. Besides the half-dozen times she'd imagined Dalia in bed, obese and only getting fatter. But that was a secret, between Saori and her pillow.

Pseudo Harem Reviews: Episode 1
Tumblr media
I don't want to clutter my art blog with 12+ nerding out posts, so I'll be posting episode reviews here every week instead!
Animation
It’s a bit on the cheaper side, but that’s okay since the art style is very faithful and nice, even down to the slightly crooked mouths in some scenes- which I personally find a bit charming! Another change I like is adding a blue-grey tint to Rin’s hair to stop it from blending too much into other dark objects like her blouse!
I do wish that the animation got to be a bit higher quality at points. To list a similar show for comparison like Tomo, it at least had some dynamic animation for action shots and better lighting in the night scenes. At least showing some visual or audio cue for Rin’s switch in personas would help. Also I'm not sure I like how the personas are listed as stuff like "spoiled girl" instead of "Spoiled-Chan", "Spoiled Rin", "Sweet-girl" or anything to solidify their identities more. I can only hope a potential dub is able to figure out how to make it work!
Voice Acting
I’m not a longtime fan of Saori Hayami like some of the people who follow her in Spy X Family, Oregairu, and more, but I like the work she does here as Rin! I agree with the few people who say her voice is a biiiit too adult for a high schooler, but I at least like her voices for Cool-chan and Spoiled-chan. Her takes on Cheeky and Tsundere could be a bit more on the high-pitched side though. Still excited to hear more though!
Nobuhiko Omamoto as Eiji is nice too in one of the more subdued roles I’ve seen him in- he does a great job of capturing Eiji’s straightforward and goofy sides and you can feel why Rin likes him early on!
And I’m still crossing my fingers for a phenomenal dub too, which should hopefully get more new viewers onboard with this show! (PLEASE don’t be a bad dub…)
Music - OP and ED
So far nothing major to note in the soundtrack- just your standard highschool romcom style score. I will say I love both the OP and ED as songs- they’re great and I’ve already added what I can to my playlists! And I do hope we get the Rin and Eiji version of the opening down the line too (and maybe some extra surprises hopefully?)
It’s just a shame when the opening suffers from some of the cheapest animation in the whole show- it’s supposed to be the thing that hooks viewers into watching, but over half of it is just a bunch of still PNGs, barely showing the actual Pseudo Harem gimmick until the chorus.
At least the ED has cooler and more creative visuals with the anime-to-manga hybrid beginning, the rap verse from Rin, and better showing off all her personas (I find it a bit funny they’re trying to showcase every single one rather than the main 4-5 to entice new viewers more and maybe provide more contrast haha)
Pacing
And here we have the elephant in the room. I was so hyped for this series I didn’t even consider that the short disconnected nature of the series’ early chapters would lead to a very disjointed first few episodes.
If the show wanted to spend more effort on animation, they could have either rearranged the chapters so that the similar ones in the same settings got paired up into bigger scenes like how Squid Girl did it. If I could have everything my way, I would just extend the episodes with lots of original content, but I know that’s unrealistic.
If not, then short connecting scenes or establishing shots could help, or even interlude cards if you really want to save on budget. From what I’ve heard new viewers say, they all really liked the series concept, the characters, and their dynamic, but they were really put off by the pacing, assuming it would be this way for the whole show. And sadly, I can’t blame them for being disappointed since they don’t know the series will go into longer arcs and better-paced episodes as it goes on.
The choice to move their first meeting to the first scene was also very odd, as it shows why Eiji likes Rin, but creates a weird and unclear timeskip where she likes him by the Ch1 gym scene immediately after, and also kind of diffuses a bit of the tension on whether Eiji actually likes Rin or just the Pseudo Harem for the first 40 chapters or so.
I can only hope the show better arranges the scenes to keep the viewers’ attention from Episode 2 onwards!
Extras/Overall
I still had tons of fun with this pilot though! I do hope it shapes up a bit more in the animation and pacing departments, and I hope new viewers will give this show the usual 3-episodes chance at the very least! This is still my most anticipated anime of 2024 and I can’t wait for more!

❄️🎄🎁☃️Merry Making (Adult!SatoSugu x Adult!Fem!Reader ft Various JJK) ☃️🎁🎄❄️
A/n: I AM SO LATE TO THE PARTY!
Holiday fluff, ships, and so on, ya know the drill.
SO PLEASE DON'T PLAGARIZE COPY TRANSLATE STEAL OR REPOST MY FANFIC CONTENT. Rather reblog like and follow please and thnx u.
Tumblr media
Fuzzy coziness in beige white and cream filled your eyes.
Early light streamed through the curtains.
“Merry Christmas, Y/n~” Satoru's purr was layered with pecks strewn all over your face, bringing a smile to the surface.
The feline man cradled Suguru's head as he gave him the same wakening treatment. “Merry Christmas, Suguru~!”
Said man deeply humming against the crook of your neck had you squirming and giggling, especially as his sweatered arms hugged you close enough to where his grip was too firm to break free from.
“So early,” Suguru grumbled raspily, pulling away from your neck to yawn in his knuckles.
“Better than being late for the day when I embrace my destiny as Saint Nicky~ Imma go get all fancied up for the rascals. I better see you coming right behind me all decked out, hubbie~” Gojo planted one big wet smooch on Geto's lips before giving you the same lovely treatment, pulling a garment bag outta the closet, giving you two a smile and a peace sign before dipping into the adjoining bathroom.
“Sugu?” Your pajama self moved to splay atop your slowly awakening husband.
“Hmm?” He rubbed his eyes, blinking to clear up the murkiness, when the feeling of your lips on his got him to be fully awake.
“Merry Christmas.”
He embraced you, kissing you in kind. “Merry Christmas, love~”
“Tada!” Springing out the bathroom door stood Gojo Claus. Beard, hat, boots and all. “Time to get the sack! Suguru, suit up!” The man warped away.
“Lord I will regret this.” Geto muttered under his breath before lifting you off him so he could get out of bed and pull out his garment bag out of the closet too, heading to the bathroom after giving you a wink. “See you in a bit, honey.”
A few days ago, you celebrated with everyone by throwing a Christmas party at the Tokyo school as it was the one chance you could throw one due to everyone having plans over the holidays.
You even had a Kiritanpo hot pot as the main dish, Christmas version. And a big one at that to fill everybody up.
You hummed as you started up your phone only to see notifications from your group chats. Opening it up, you viewed the photos sent to your phone ever since that night.
One of Haibara beaming brightly as he and a flustered Nanami were lounging on a beach in Malaysia, shades on and a drink in Yu's hands while Kento read off the stack of books he plans to read.
Another one showed Shoko and Utahime in the capital, Kuala Lumpur, with the former kissing the whipped cream off her wife's lips from their shared mug of spicy cocoa along a balcony setting of their lit up resort.
A snapshot of Riko and Misato in a ski lift viewing the snowy hills of a ski resort along the Alps with Yuki, Choso and Kamo skiing together down the slopes below.
More pics kept on piling in.
Miwa and Kokichi taking a sleigh ride through the falling snow, smooching his now beet red face.
Mai and Momo skating across a ginormous ice rink while doing it with such grace.
Todo catching a Takada-chan plushie THE Takada kissed on stage during her live Christmas bash, chucking it to the enormous crowds, hearts and tears in his eyes cause OF COURSE he caught it.
Kusakabe in a tavern drinking with Higurama; one of the many new sorcerers, flushed but at ease.
Yaga and Gakuganji sharing sake together.
Nothing from Mei, but knowing her, she's in a tub filled with cash, with Ui letting her do whatever cause he loves her so … yeah …
And knowing Toji and Shiu, they're probably taking shots while looking out over the balcony of their apartment window and just watching the land being draped in a blanket of snow.
A beaming Nobara and a flushed Maki going through holiday themed boutiques with a shy Fumi and an endearing Saori-chan in tow, so many bags already piling over in their arms.
Rika and Toge doting over a flushing nervous Yuta, spooning him on both sides, lounging in his apartment, with Panda acting as their cuddle couch, snacking on Christmas cookies, egg nog trailing down his conked out face.
Getting lost in holiday feels, you nearly forgot about the other presence in the room but the fuzzy sensations overwhelmed you. Your squeaking giggles were overshadowed by his conniving cackles streaming out as those furry fingers gently tickled you and those smart ass lips kissing your adorable face.
“Letting your guard down makes you vulnerable. It's difficult to resist you, my distracting beautiful wife~” Suguru crooned in your neck, horns on his head and cane in hand as he stopped the tickling to kiss your cheek then easily carried you up in one arm, letting your phone plop onto the sheets. “Now, let's go before Satoru drags us out himself.”
Fairy lights flashed many colors hanging strewn above across the living room ceiling.
A tall traditional tree stood in the corner. Tinsel, ornaments, string lights, and a small start plopped on top decorate the pine.
And Yuji and Junpei awoke to the smell of pancakes being made. Peaking into the kitchen, they spotted Megumi and Tsumiki already having platters full of Christmas tree shaped flapjacks lining up the island. Nanako and Mimiko were prepping up some hot cocoa with marshmallows.
When a sack of presents literally filled up the kitchen like magic.
“Ho ho ho!”
“Santa Claus!” Yuji's chibi self lit up with stars in his eyes at the bearded glasses wearing man poking his head in.
“Santa?” Junpei and Megumi weren't convinced.
The girls giggled, knowing who it was but going along with the cuteness.
A silky raven head with horns on top of his head popped out from the other door, cane in hand. “Yo.”
“K - K - KRAMPUS!?” Yuji turned blue at the alarming sight.
“Geto-sama!” The twins tackled their papa, giddy over his furry onesie look.
The snow began falling that early morning.
As the puppy dog that is Yuji dragged a scolding Megumi outside who didn't want to abandon his cooking duty and let a fire start when a handful of snow was smushed into his now welt forming face.
Yuji's speed was tested by Divine Dog Totality with Megumi riding atop, chasing his salmon boi across the private snowy grounds, as snowballs streaked the air.
A concern Tsumiki tried yelling out her scolding remarks to her brother as she ran out the back patio doors but he was too far off to hear, so her exasperated self plopped down into the snow, getting into the mood to cool down and make a snow angel.
Junpei floundered, his arms and legs jerking as he was doing his best to stay upright even as Tsumiki legit dragged him down with a radiant smile sent his way, going with the flow with a dopey smile on his face.
“SU.GU.RU~!”
“Yeah?”
“Lookie lookie!”
The puffy albino kitty cat and his raven furry mate nuzzled their heels, scurrying out between their legs and through the slide open back doors with cat sized Santa hats on, chasing each others tails.
“Catoru and Cuguru are matching! Say cheese!” Gojo Claus pulled out his phone to take so many pics.
Catoru's chirpy meow and Cuguru's calm meow were all they gave before trotting over to the twins, nuzzling their ankles as they built their snowmen family. Making sure to include a blindfold for one of them and a Gojo Kuja for its snow partner.
“Suguru … THINK FAST!”
Like future father in law, like future son in law.
The side of Geto's face was smothered in snow, giving off a welt mark contrasting Gojo's shit eating smirk.
“Prepare to die … SATORU!”
Choosing to retract his shikigami in preference of handling this matter himself, Megumi rolled across the snowy grounds as he and Yuji's snowball chucking garnered everyone else's attention, especially colliding with Gojo getting his face smushed with powder by a hissing Geto.
A soft rough coughing noise garnered their attention.
All their snowy heads plopped out of their white puffy pile.
Seeing you in that fuzzy velvet robe flowing from the blowing wind, your snug jammies, and velvet slippers as you walked out to admire the falling snow, breathing out to see your breath in a puffy white cloud, fading into purity.
Powder slowly descended from the heavens as you watched, entranced, as you gracefully floated.
“Unless you all want breakfast to get cold, come back inside.”
“Mrs. Claus.” Satoru breathed out in wonder at your tender voice.
“Are we getting our present?” Suguru coyly asked.
Devotion covered your face as you smiled, pressing a hand on your small growing baby bump. “You already have.”
“Oh yeah.” Those two exchanged smirks.
They gently pulled you down to submerge you in their suited powdery embrace, laughing at their gobsmacked expressions as you pulled out some mistletoe from your pockets to hang above your heads.
Lots of kisses between you three.
Yuji snuck in one to Megumi who slunk back in the snow, melting it from how hot he got.
It would be a while until breakfast would be eaten and presents be opened.
But even so …
Christmas had come at last.
