Neymar's return to Santos is about being an investor in santos, Neymar himself said he wouldn't come back to brasil because of its challenge but if this means he is a co owner with a chance for more ownership over time i can see the incentive for him, and al hilal i bet will be a large part of the financing. Leitura do acórdão da Operação Éter marcada para hoje no Porto

A leitura do acórdão do processo da Operação Éter, relacionado com contratos ilícitos celebrados pela entidade de Turismo do Porto e Norte de Portugal, está agendada para hoje às 14:00 no Tribunal de São João Novo, no Porto.

Os 29 arguidos aguardam há quase um ano pela conclusão do julgamento, que teve início em 09 de março de 2022 e as alegações finais terminaram em 21 de setembro de 2023.

O presidente da Turismo do Porto e Norte de Portugal (TPNP) de 2009 a janeiro de 2019 é o principal arguido no processo, que se centra nos crimes alegadamente cometidos por Melchior Moreira através desta entidade, nomeadamente, em ofertas públicas de emprego, nas relações com o futebol, em ajudas de custo/fundo maneio, em férias no Algarve e nos negócios com a empresária da área da comunicação e também arguida Manuela Couto.

Em causa estão procedimentos de contratação de pessoal e aquisição de bens, a utilização de meios deste organismo público para fins pessoais e o apoio prestado a clubes de futebol, a troco de contrapartidas e favores pessoais a Melchior Moreira, que, segundo o Ministério Público (MP), tinha a “ambição de concorrer à presidência da Liga Portuguesa de Futebol Profissional”.

O processo denominado de Operação Éter tem 29 arguidos (21 singulares e oito entidades coletivas) e envolve cerca de centena e meia de crimes económicos, nomeadamente corrupção, peculato, participação económica em negócio, abuso de poder, falsificação de documento e recebimento indevido de vantagem.

Nas alegações finais, o MP pediu penas efetivas de prisão para três dos 21 arguidos singulares: Melchior Moreira, a empresária Manuela Couto (agora Manuela Sousa – ex-mulher do antigo presidente da Câmara de Santo Tirso Joaquim Couto) e Isabel Castro, à data dos factos uma das diretoras da TPNP, admitindo penas suspensas para os restantes arguidos.

O MP defendeu também a condenação do presidente do SC de Braga António Salvador e do ex-presidente do Vitória Sport Club (VSC), ambos por falsificação de documento, crime alegadamente cometido nos contratos de publicidade nas camisolas dos clubes, celebrados com a TPNP, mas defendeu a absolvição de Júlio Mendes de corrupção, uma vez que não houve “um toma lá, dá cá”, entre o então presidente do VSC e Melchior Moreira.

Em sentido inverso, a defesa de todos os arguidos pediu a absolvição dos respetivos constituintes, considerando que não ficou provado que tenham cometido qualquer crime pelos quais estão a ser julgados, apontando o dedo à investigação e “à narrativa” do MP.

To the selecao I will start spiritually… Pele's spirit flew and Santos was relegated. I think Brasil is in a true phase. This happens. Brasil on the club side is dominating conmebol while they are still the biggest flag brand in the futebol world. But the selecao seems filled with less magicians. This is a moment. Strategically, my biggest issue with the selecao is they made the last two copa america finals. If they make this final, that is three in a row. Can a team that made three striaght finals ina twelve year span lack spirit? And even if Brasil win the current copa america, does that mean they are poor or lack passion? I know Brasilians and I realize for Brasilians the selecao is more than a team it is a representative of the common brasilian people in their own eyes, a very heavy believe, but one i think many brasilians share.
