Jason shuffled carefully across Leo’s room, his sandals making a soft noise with each step as he dodged the junk and random metal pieces scattered all over the floor. He paused to nudge a small gear out of the way with his foot, trying not to trip on the mess.

“Seriously, Leo, how do you not break your neck in here?” Jason muttered, glancing down at all..... The stuff. Whatever it was.

Leo, perched on the edge of his bed, pushed a heap of clothes aside with one hand, revealing a slightly less cluttered spot. “It’s all about knowing where to step, babe. Organized chaos—it’s my thing,” he said with a grin, tossing a screwdriver onto a nearby pile, making a loud clink.

Jason shook his head. “If this is organized, I am interested to see what your version of a mess looks like.”

Leo chuckled, patting the bed beside him. “Come on, sparky. It isn't that bad.”

Jason chuckled, cautiously sitting down. He kicked off his sandlas, the soft thud echoing in the quiet room as he carefully set them aside. Leo, staring at Jason's chin instead of his eyes, let out a relieved breath.

“Thank you for that,” Leo muttered, his voice softer than usual. "Really"

Jason gave a small, knowing smile and nodded. “Anything for you, Valdez.”

They both settled down beside each other, lying on their sides, facing one another. The room was still, save for the occasional creak of the bed. Jason’s gaze softened as he looked at Leo, who seemed a bit more on his nerves than usual. And most of the time he looks that he is about to freak out.

Jason gently slid his arm around Leo’s back, pulling him just a little closer. “You know, if you ever need to talk or… just not be alone, I’m here, right?”

Leo’s breath caught for a moment. He looked at Jason, a small cute little smile tugging at his lips. “I know, bro. Thanks, no need to get cheesy"

They stare at each other and giggle. Both lay there for a while, the soft rhythm of their breathing the only sound in the room. Over time, they moved closer. Jason, his eyes closed, slowed his breathing, pretending to be asleep, It had been a few months since he had done this, but he still remembered the vague feeling of pretending to be dead or being in a deep sleep, something about making enemies think they are in control. Now here he was using it to try to convince a teenager with ADHD and anxiety to sleep.

The teenager in question, who was lying just inches away, couldn’t help but let his hand drift toward Jason’s face. His fingers, slender but calloused from the hard work and tinkering, hovered for a moment before gently caressing Jason’s jaw. The touch was light as a feather and gentle as the sunset. Leo’s fingers moved slowly over Jason's features, tracing the sharp line of his cheekbone, feeling the smooth skin beneath his touch.

His fingertips drifted over Jason’s brow, rubbing the edge, and then to his temple. Leo took his time, each movement deliberate, as he studied the shape of Jason’s face. Leo’s hand finally reached Jason’s lips, the pads of his fingers brushing over them gently, tracing the small scar there.

Finally, Leo whispered, his voice barely above a breath. “Jase?”

Jason’s eyes fluttered open, the corners of his mouth curling up into a lazy smile. “Yes?”

Leo’s gaze softened. “You are really ugly,” he said with a gentle, almost affectionate tone, before a small, playful smile tugged at his lips.
