Gardening enthusiasts were left in disbelief recently when a rare occurrence was spotted in a garden in the UK. A group of flowers were seen with a peculiar facial expression – they were smiling.

The flowers, which were identified as Salvia Horminum, were spotted in a garden in the East Midlands town of Nottingham. The plants were described as having "perfectly curved petals that formed an amusing smile".

The gardener, who wished to remain anonymous, said he had been tending to the garden for over a decade and had never seen anything like it before.

Experts from the Royal Horticultural Society were keen to examine the smiling flowers and said that it was likely an anomaly caused by genetic mutation.

The gardener said that although the flowers did not last long, they had brought a lot of joy to the garden and made him and many others smile.

The RHS concluded that the smiling flowers were "an extremely rare and unique occurrence" and have encouraged other gardeners to keep an eye out for any similar occurrences in the future.

Sve intenzivnije cvetaju biljke a to privlači razne goste u našu baštu. Pčele izgleda nisu toliko probirljive, dok leptiri i moj omiljeni insekt kolibrić preferiraju brazilsku verbenu.

Nigella je uprkos svemu preživela, a to kažem jer je naš mačak uporno koristio uzdignute gredice kao svoj wc. Nigella African bride (bela) i midnight (plava) su posejane zimus a pre par dana su krenule sa cvetanjem. Na žalost propustiću sledeće nedelje sve cvetove, ali barem ću sakupiti seme....

Sa cvetanjem je krenula i Monarda Bergamo, takođe wintersown. Ehinacea i žalfije su magnet za pčele i druge insekte.

Verbenu svi vole, posebno leptiri.

Lilavi kukolj, uljez među belima.

I za kraj jedan tužan prizor, moje anemone i ranunkulusi. Ovog proleća su vaši bile mnogobrojne i između ostalog su napale i njih. Anemone su još uspele izbaciti par cvetova, ali su bili deformisani. Ni temperature im nisu išle na ruku, nadam se da će barem lukovice preživeti.

Cuando y cómo cultivar la Salvia

Hola amigos hoy vengo con una de mis plantas preferidas y favoritas cómo es la salvia. Su aroma es fascinante y aparte pues agarra muy bien en cualquier tipo de terreno. Las salvias floríferas se reparten en dos grupos: las anuales (S. splendens, S. horminum, S. farinacea) y las vivaces (S. officinalis, S. patens...). A todas les gustan los lugares soleados, los suelos más bien ricos, frescos en verano y bien drenados.
