Sheriff: High-res Screenshots
Since I'm working on part of my fanfic that features Sheriff, I figured I'd post some scaps of him for y'all to have fun with. Sheriff moves a LOT more than Doc...so most of the available pics of him are blurry. I did the best that I could.
I only had time to scap Cars. I'll do a part two with pics of Sheriff from other installments of the franchise.

Sad and beautiful! Thank you for writing this.
Hooo boy. Well now that the feels are rolling, I would please love to see your take on Lightning taking that vent drive after Doc died - if you'd like! :)
Your one stop shop for feels, step right this way!
Sheriff closed the courthouse doors softly. All was silent except for a slight breeze rustling the shrubbery nearby. The entire town sat outside that old brick building, silent and unmoving. There was a shrouded form behind those doors that did the same.
There had been weeping and mourning all morning. No one expected to wake to such a devastating discovery. That sunrise greeted them with chaos and panic and grief. The calm air that surrounded them now could just as easily be an extension of the numbness that now consumed the town.
Lightning parked at the back of the small crowd. He couldn’t wipe the scene from his mind, what he’d found when he’d gone out to run a few practice laps just a little while earlier. Everywhere he looked he saw Doc. He was around town, on the roads, in the eyes of the other townsfolk. How could someone be so present, yet so, so absent?
“What now?” Flo asked quietly, to no one in particular.
No one answered. No one knew. Lightning’s mind raced. What was he to do? To whom was he supposed to go? He looked to Sally. She sat parked close to his side, dried streaks down her fenders where tears had flown earlier. She stared numbly at the ground.
This wasn’t right. None of this was okay. What was Radiator Springs without Doc? The more Lightning confronted the problem, the larger it loomed, and the heavier the weight of his grief. He couldn’t breathe. He needed to escape. He cranked his engine.
At first it was a low idle. A few of the others looked back at him in their mirrors. Slowly, Lightning rolled backwards. He didn’t look at anyone as he turned to face the town. It was so empty, still so early in the day. The open road in front of him… it tempted him for the first time in years.
A slow roll turned into a steady cruise turned into a high speed escape. There was something chasing him and he needed to run for his life. It was a nightmare and he couldn’t wake up. No one stopped him. They couldn’t have even if they wanted to.
The scenery started to change. The desert grew flatter, the shrubbery more sparse. It was an absolute wasteland. He passed a sign signalling the way to the interstate. He hesitated and let himself roll under the power of momentum alone. What would the interstate bring? Would it take him away quicker? Would it erase the morning? He took a right turn.
Back in town the morning traffic came as though nothing were wrong. Everyone put on a mask of normality and ran their businesses. It wasn’t enough. One can only be so strong for so long. In a few hours, most of the country knew about Doc’s fate. Another while longer, the whole world would know.
Eventually, the sun touched the top of Cadillac Range. As the shadows lengthened and life calmed down, Lightning’s absence became more apparent. Sally wondered where he’d gone. There was nothing but desert out east for a good, long while. Had he run out of gas? Likely. Was he stranded and covered in dust, lost somewhere? Even more likely. Could she blame him? No.
Lightning sat in a pull off along the side of some unnamed back road under a short, stubby tree. It was getting dark, he was almost out of gas, and he had no idea where he was. There was a town ahead on up the road. He could get gas there, but then what? That presence was still following him. He couldn’t outrun it. Frustrated, he felt himself start to lose his composure. It only made him more upset.
He took the opportunity to wallow in his misery. He let the emotions flow. The empty desert could handle it. It responded with silence.
Midnight rolled around and Mater stopped by the Cozy Cone. The entire town still stirred quietly. Sally looked up from the mounds of work she’d created for herself.
“Should we go out lookin’?” Mater asked.
Sally sighed. She didn’t know. “Probably, but I don’t know where we’d start.”
They sat there in silence for a short while. It was comfortable silence, but there was still something hanging in the air. It couldn’t be put into words.
In a timely enough manner, a distant rumble of a familiar engine faded into the distance. Sally let out a sigh of relief. With everything else going on, she didn’t want to have to send out a search party. She would have, but she wouldn’t have wanted to. No one needed the extra stress. They went to wait for him by the road.
The desert dust plastered to his red paint made it apparent he’d gone a long way, aired his grievances, and then come a long way back. The matted streaks of caked dust down his fenders told the whole story. No need for questions.
Content that he was safe, Mater acknowledged him and went on his way, uncharacteristically quiet. Lightning rolled to a stop beside Sally.
“Feel better?” she asked quietly.
He shook himself. “No.”
She nodded in understanding. They were all in this together. And they were gong to get through it. Together.
“Come inside. Let’s take a rest, okay?”
“Okay.”
