Toriko headcanon (its been a while i did something based on Toriko)

Setsuno indeed not Teppei grandmother. At least not his bio.

When their ways are parted Jiro fell in love with a woman (an another gourmet hunter) with a more mild, chilling person and Jiro liked her calmness and cool-headed personality.

Soon after their marriage, Teppei father was born, but something bad happened and she was unable to get better after giving birth.

Her health detoraited so rapidly that the doctors did not have time to find the solution.

When she died Jiro was beyond mortified and angered.

Now he is alone with his son and his wife died. (He maybe also felt guilt because he tought of his monstrous nature made her sick)

Later he brought his son to Setsuno to help to raise him.

ALRIGHT HUNTERS, CHEFS, AND SAISEIYAS...

Since y'all voted HUGELY in favour of 'add more than just incorrect quotes' (and tbh, I was probably gonna do that anyways because it's more interesting to make), Mod Chef's got something cooking for the end of February.

It's taken a bit of background set-up (mostly because formatting Tumblr posts can be a bit of a nightmare), but I think we're gonna have some fun. Or possibly you'll all think it's stupid and it'll flop gloriously.

Until then, more occasional Toriko quotes are on their way

Got any headcanons for Teppei or Melk II?

I really love fulfilling your requests! May I offer headcanons for both?! I think I have plenty! I hope you enjoy these!

Teppei

1) Finds it very taxing to put up his hair every morning. He, however, has so much hair that it gets in the way to it’s better for work to wear it up.

2) Sometimes can find his scars bothersome. The more he stares at them in the mirror, the stranger they look and it irks him a little.

3) Secretly heeds skincare and beauty advice from Sani. Because he’s a Saiseiya, he has love and concern for the preservation of ingredients but he can sometimes forget to nurture himself too. Realizing it was a problem, at some point he began to take care of himself more. 

4) Likes to go for drinks on his own. It’s one way for him to wind down and relax a little. He doesn’t take many breaks. 

5) He was once interested in colouring his hair to a darker tone, maybe brown. Decided against it because all he owns is green clothing and it probably wouldn’t suit it very well. 

6) Recently developed an interest in trinkets and jewellery. I think he would own a ring and pendant collection. He doesn’t get to wear the rings much because he wears gloves on the job. 

7) He finds beauty spots to be fascinating. He also appreciates features on others that stand out that maybe they may not like.

Melk II 

1) I feel like she likes styling her hair and attempting different hairstyles in her free time. She once got caught in the middle of one of these sessions by Melk I and was extremely embarrased. Since then, she tries to do these more discreetly. 

2) On that note, she also likes to dress up sometimes. Since she is so skilled at crafting knives, it kind of followed onto sewing and other craft related skills. She makes her own clothes and gets really excited whenever she purchases and finds new materials to work with. 

3) She spends her free time in quiet introspection, looking to focus her mind and sharpen her craft by visualizing the process and outcome of a perfect blade. 

4) She finds that when she leaves small work unfinished, she has very strange and obscure dreams. After she wakes from them she usually goes to finish the work, even if it is in the dead of night. 

5) Melk II loves to indulge in long baths after an arduous day of work. She values and cherishes this time of relaxation. She tries her best to not spend too much time in there since she once feel asleep and when she woke up it was morning! 

6) Goes for walks in the nearby forestry in the early morning. This helps to wake her up and freshen her mind. Enjoys the sounds of nature and breathing in the clear air. 

7) Developed a recent interest in expressive dance though she would dare not tell anyone! How cute!

What about a cute date with Teppei, from Toriko? It's their first date so they're both nervous but they have fun

When the date start, s/o can feel the nerves eating them alive. First dates are nerve-wracking, especially when its with someone you really like. The typical comfort of knowing the other date is also nervous as hell isn't there because the date is Teppei and Teppei is cool as a cucumber. He's the perfect gentlemen, holding every door, pulling out a chair for them. What a model gentleman, so calm, so collected.

On the outside.

Saiseiya training doesn't cover going on dates! Dates aren't a thing for hermits! This is so far out of what he's used to Teppei is falling back on his stoic persona to cover his ass as he internally panics. What do people talk about on dates? It's so quiet - that can't be how dates are supposed to be right? All the dates around them are talking, but this probably isn't their first date. How are they supposed to do this?

The menus spare them all, because up until then its been awkward one-word conversations and silence.

"...I have an idea."

Restaurant food tastes a lot better surrounded by nature. Take-out boxes in hand, it takes the Saiseiya seconds to find a good spot in the park to take up shop in and relax. Quiet still settles over the pair, but its a peaceful quiet.

"...That restaurant was really stuffy wasn't it?" "It was! There was way too many people!" "Right! And the menu-"

It takes little time for Teppei's chatty side to come out, and it defeats the awkwardness then and there. Conversation flows freely, easily under the stars as they dig into their food.

Not the most conventional of first dates, but since when is Teppei a conventional guy?

Two Toriko Oc’s ready to go!! (again tagging @dragongambler, @the-great–mighty-bee and @delinquentpkmnprof!!) They both make their appearance in the Century Soup arc!

* Amaretto (the one with the violin) is the daughter to a extremely wealthy family of unique Gourmet Hunters. They use music to tame animals and are quite skilled in their talent but she’s seen as the black sheep of the family for her selflessness. She’s very timid but warms up slowly, especially towards Takimaru, starts off terrified of Match but does come to care about him.

* Lingon is Teppei’s partner and a member of the Saiseiya, she’s a very strong fighter but lacks in social graces. Snarky, blunt, and spares no expense to anyone but she does care a lot about those close to her, she just had trouble showing. She’s basically “I Won’t Hesitate, Bitch” as a person, also she’s a disaster lesbian trying to pass as functional.

Real talk: I was stuck on a mod nickname for a while. I was about to just pretend I was the "Heavenly Voice" from the beginning of every episode (of the anime), but I decided against it since people who only read the manga wouldn't get the reference.

I've seen a lot of other Incorrect Quote blogs pick names of characters (usually if they have more than one mod, just to distinguish them). But personally? I thought it would be a little awkward to choose the name of a character since... I write quotes for those characters. I dunno, maybe it’s just me? (Especially since there's only one guy running the show here?)

But thank you! "Chef" works just fine! (Or if you just wanna refer to me as 'Mod' that's fine too - I'm not picky at all)

Addendum:

This has been festering in my drafts for a bit. I wasn't too sure if I should make this official or not. But after... well... this happened, I figure that "Chef" is the most appropriate title after that.

Do you have a nickname of sorts we can call you or do you just prefer “Mod”? PS: swag posts

I actually don't have a nickname right now -- but I'm 100% open to (and actually looking for) Toriko-themed suggestions!

(To be honest, I'm not the biggest fan of "Mod", but until I finally find a decent mod nickname, it's totally fine!)

Small update...

Hello hunters, chefs, and saiseiyas!

Just reminding you all that I am an absolute FOOL and inconsistent with my tags. I realised that some of my newer posts about Coco's backstory were tagged "not so friendly reminder this was an actual canon backstory" BUT that the older posts (and the tag in the About section) were written "not so friendly reminder THAT this was an actual canon backstory"

I've since gone and fixed it (I think) but in case anyone was confused just letting you all know.
