Saian has been removed from Overwatch and is now part of my Azure Bloom OC Project. She retains most of her Overwatch elements as it carries onto Azure Bloom. She just has a slight update to her personality, and design. Well I wouldn’t say it’s an update to her personality, she was always a shitty type of character but it was toned down for her Overwatch portrayal. Now that she’s part of Azure Bloom, I can go all out for her character!

You can read up on Saian's character in the profile link I shared. It’s currently incomplete as I need to add her history and relations but everything else is done!

Saian's personal life remains shrouded in secrecy. With deliberate intent, she guards the details of her origin with unwavering vigilance, veiling the truth behind a tapestry of mystery. The specifics of her birth—when and where it occurred—remain obscured. Her true name, a relic of her past, is a closely guarded secret, known only to a select few, if anyone at all. Throughout her existence, Saian has assumed numerous aliases, each a fleeting glimpse into the kaleidoscope of identities she has worn over the years. Yet, among the myriad personas she has adopted, "Saian Fujino" stands as the most pervasive, a mask worn with practiced ease to conceal the depths of her true self.

As you can see, Saian still has the same physical appearance. I kept the single curl because I can’t part with it. And she considers it a fashion statement iconic to her. The robe for her first design is more open for the sake of the reference.

Her first design was also inspired by some ninja designs, specifically Kunoichi from Koei Tecmo's Samurai Warriors series. Her second design is kept more simple since it’s mostly used for her “day to day job” as a cafe owner. The robe is a bit of a homage to her super old design I first made for her Azure Bloom appearance. I missed it so I brought it back for this one! Her third attire isn’t really Saian wearing that but one of her clones that has taken the role as a cult leader. Speaking of her clones, her clones have obvious tells to them being clones. Saian is missing her left eye but her clones have both their eyes, thus they wear masks covering the top half of their faces.

It is finally done! After 18 hours and 54 minutes, Saian's illustration looks amazing (´༎ຶོρ༎ຶོ`) I’m so happy with how this turned out. But oh man, I can’t wait to work on her wife's and right hand man's designs. The Wisterias may be supporting characters, but I love the work I’m putting into them (*≧∀≦*)

Originally was just gonna post this on its own but halfway through I thought this would look great as a potential cover image for when I FINALLY get to writing for Azure Bloom. Light novel style though because I have no patience to make this into a comic (´°̥̥̥̥̥̥̥̥ω°̥̥̥̥̥̥̥̥｀)

Saian Fujino, a supporting character in the world of Azure Bloom, is the leader of an elite covert assassins organization known as the Wisterias. She runs the Misty Petal to keep up the act of a laid back cafe owner within the Kingdom of Zaeneya. Saian efficiently manages her organization, maintaining a strict boundary that only permits access to those within her trusted circle, except for essential business matters. She firmly expresses her disapproval of impulsive actions, instilling a sense of discipline among her associates. With an imposing presence, she effortlessly commands attention in any room, instilling fear even in her rivals, who dare not challenge her authority. Her discerning gaze penetrates through facades, leaving others wary of crossing her path

We'll go with Taira Matsubara, Saian's sister in the Azure Bloom universe.

I went a little overboard with this one but it’s a good way to show how the two will never be sisters anymore ˚✧₊⁎❝᷀ົཽ≀ˍ̮ ❝᷀ົཽ⁎⁺˳✧༚

Taira finds herself caught in a complex web of emotions as she considers the possibility of reconciling with her older sister, Saian. The wounds of betrayal inflicted by her sister run deep, leaving Taira grappling with conflicting feelings of forgiveness and lingering resentment.

On one hand, Taira yearns for closure and healing in her fractured relationship with Saian. Yet, beneath this desire for reconciliation simmers a potent undercurrent of bitterness. Taira can still vividly recall the pain of the blade piercing through her skin, damage dealt by the one person she trusted most. The memory of Saian's abandonment during her time of need haunts Taira, fueling her resentment and distrust.

"Saian Fujino? Is that the name people call you now?" Taira's voice was sharp with accusation, her eyes fixed on the figure before her—a familiar face, half of it hidden by a mask, now seemed like a cruel distortion of the sister she once knew. Saian shrugged nonchalantly in response. "What's wrong with it? It's certainly better than the name our incubator gave me. My wife, in fact, loves it." A lazy grin appeared on her face as she shot Taira a knowing look.

Taira's jaw clenched at the casual disregard in Saian's tone. The use of the term "incubator" being used rather than referring to their mother struck a nerve deep within her. "You're sick," Taira spat, her voice tinged with disbelief and anger. "Is everything just some sick game to you?!" Saian's grin widened, unbothered by Taira's accusation. "Call it what you will, little sister. Just remember, that woman would have sold you off if you weren’t obedient. And I must say, obedient you are, it’s almost annoying really.”

"Even now you're not taking this seriously!" Taira's words cut through the tension. "I should have known, when you left me behind, when you left me for dead, you never truly cared about me." Her voice cracked with emotion, raw and unfiltered. The words hung in the air, charged with the weight of years of hurt and disappointment. Taira's gaze bore into Saian, searching for any semblance of remorse or recognition. But Saian's expression remained inscrutable, a mask that revealed nothing of the sister Taira once loved.

Taira's eyes flickered with conflicting emotions as she stared at Saian. Seeing the turmoil in her sister's eyes, Saian reached out and offered her hand, a gesture filled with tentative sincerity. Her gaze softened, and a small, apologetic smile appeared on her face. "Hey, alright I’m sorry, okay? I know I'm not the best sister in the world," Saian began, her voice tinged with remorse, "but I promise... I'll do whatever it takes to make things right by you. To have you trust me again, to have you in my life again. Hanamaru told me you have spent years trying to find me. And I’ll be damned if I let you slip through my fingers again."

Taira's defenses wavered as she looked at her sister's outstretched hand and the genuine vulnerability in Saian's gaze. Could she dare to believe in the possibility of reconciliation? Slowly, cautiously, Taira reached out and took Saian's hand, her grip tentative yet filled with unspoken yearning for closure and healing. For a fleeting moment, hope fluttered in her chest, the possibility of forgiveness and reconciliation tantalizingly within reach.

Taira's guard momentarily dropped as she found herself enveloped in her sister's arms. For a fleeting moment, she dared to believe that maybe, just maybe, Saian was truly willing to mend the fractures between them. The embrace felt foreign yet strangely comforting, stirring echoes of a time when their sisterly bond had been unbreakable.

But in the next breath, everything shattered.

Taira's breath caught in her throat as she felt the sharp pain in her side, the cold sharp blade of a knife leaving her gasping for air. Saian's voice, devoid of remorse, delivered the final blow—words laced with disappointment and disdain.

"That's twice you fell for that, Taira," Saian's voice was cold and calculating. "I can't help but be disappointed in you."

The last shards of Taira's shattered hope fell around her as she crumpled to the ground, her trust in her sister obliterated by the cruel reality. Tears mingled with pain as she gazed up at Saian, the sister she once loved now a stranger—a haunting reminder of irreconcilable wounds.

Taira looked up angrily at Saian, clutching her bleeding side. She staggered, struggling to hold herself upright, her glare hard and almost threatening. "I should have known..." Taira's voice was filled with bitter realization, the pain evident in her eyes. "You really are just cruel…” Taira's words echoed in the empty space, a defiant declaration of the shattered bond between them. But Saian had already turned to walk away, leaving behind another painful memory of the past. "No hard feelings though, right sister dearest?" Saian's voice, tinged with mockery, floated back to Taira. "It's nothing personal, really, it's just business."

Taira's heart sank as she watched her sister's retreating figure, “Sister? You may share the same face as her, but you are no sister of mine!” The casual dismissal in Saian's tone cut deeper than any blade, leaving the hope she had dared to cling to lay shattered at her feet, replaced by the harsh reality of her sister’s true nature.

With tears mingling with the blood on her hands, Taira faced the bitter truth—some wounds ran too deep to ever heal, and some betrayals cut too close to ever be forgiven.

Your character awakes at dawn. The pale pink and tangerine fingers of dawn are just creeping over the horizon, and the stars are winking sleepily at the coming day. The air is crisp and cool. The calling of crepuscular birds are the soundtrack of the day. What is your character's routine? What are they thinking about?

So Saian doesn’t really sleep that much. At least not as much as before. This woman is up for majority of the night and if she’s lucky she can take a quick nap during the day. But she’s a busy woman so those naps are very few. However, there are moments where she’s relaxing in bed alongside her wife Hanamaru. With her being an assassin, she’s a really light sleeper so most of the time really is just resting her eyes… eye… her body is resting at this time.

So for this little prompt I would say, she’s relaxed sitting by the bed while Hanamaru is still sleeping waiting for to wake up too. Saian prefers to wait until Hanamaru is awake to officially start the day, so she's sitting by the bed with a nice cup of warm tea just watching the sunrise through the window. Once Hanamaru is awake, Saian will give her own cup of tea to her wife and then proceed to do her morning routine. A nice warm bath was already prepared for Hana while Saian prefers hot showers on cool mornings. And while Saian doesn’t care at all for skin care products, she partakes in Hana's morning skin care routine before getting dressed for work.

Breakfast is made by the staff and in the dining room she greets the rest of the ‘family’, all the people in her home were placed under her care either by order from the council (Dante's probation period) or were taken in by Hanamaru despite Saian's indifference to them. She'll eat with all of them at the table, even engaging in conversation with them and encouraging those who need it. She’d deny it but Saian has grown to care for all of them, Dante also may or may not be her favorite.

As for what she’s thinking about, there’s honestly a lot. Her mind runs practically a bunch of thoughts at once. Some ranging from heist plans, to new sales or menu items for the Misty Petal cafe, to some crime lord business, and down to the basic domestic needs for the ‘family’. She could just be enjoying breakfast with everyone while she’s thinking of multiple ways to take down her next target inspired by some things her family has shared.

Saian is now being fully implemented into Azure Bloom along with the other two Overwatch OCs of mine and other fandom OCs for the fandoms I have little to no more interest in. I will keep their respective master lists up though and just link it to the Azure Bloom one.

Making use of a second the plot to create one of the locations in my OC project, Azure Bloom, the Wisteria Hideout. The Wisterias are a group of assassins who work under Saian Fujino. The hideout is also hidden so there’s going to be a lot of trees on the plot.

Now I spent more time working on Saian's greenhouse because her character revolves around plants. She can materialize into petals, her name means wisteria field and she has the symbolism of the wisteria along with the wisteria pods being toxic. Saian herself is an assassin so she deals with poisons too. Her greenhouse is basically filled with lots of toxic and exotic plants and floral which she utilizes in her weaponry.

It’s currently a work in progress. I can’t wait for the release of the Elder Woods to come, hopefully there will be more types of plants we can get.

Hanamaru Fujino

When I was designing Hana, I wanted her appearance to contrast Saian instead of just personality wise. While Saian had more cool colors, Hana has more warm colors. And then the type of attire too, with Hana's casual revealing more of her skin.

I will be working on an official illustration for Hana later, hopefully after I finish Yuna's mythology/folklore outfit.

Hanamaru is portrayed as a more compassionate character than some of the Wisterias. Being with Saian for four years, Hanamaru can deal with Saian’s antics towards others as well as some of the Wisteria’s banters. Intelligent and elegant, she appreciates the value of patience and planning. Due to her more understanding and calm personality, Hanamaru often serves as Saian’s emotional bolster. Following Saian, Hanamaru attempts to put together a family, being viewed as the “matriarch” of the Wisterias and caring for the people she takes in her home with Saian. She keeps the family unit together when Saian is busy with her missions, acting like a parental figure towards the people in her care, defending them in battle and supporting them emotionally.

Fujino Hanamaru, the wife of Saian, revered as the 'Mother' or Matriarch of the Wisterias.

As one of the oldest members of the Wisterias, Hanamaru is one of the most mature and level-headed, aside from Shōhei. However, she is not as cynical as the silent assassin, and is very patient and forgiving. She has a very magnanimous, polite and gentle personality and always tries to help or comfort others. She deeply cares for her friends and prefers to avoid unnecessary conflict, usually being the one who diffuses any arguments between people, making her a dependable and trustworthy friend. Her patience often makes her one of the few calm ones in situations when everyone else has lost their temper.

Like Saian, Hanamaru also doesn't judge or discriminate against others because of their origins. Despite her sheer hatred of the Manzanares for their cruel treatment towards the people of Yakurabi, Hanamaru doesn't bear any prejudice towards Dante for being their son, still regarding him with care.

Hanamaru is shown to be quite self-confident. She has immense faith in her abilities as an assassin, and takes pride in being part of the Wisterias. Although a highly skilled assassin with deadly abilities, she does not enjoy unfair tactics. Though generally quiet and kind, Hanamaru can become angry. Hanamaru has also been known to be quite sarcastic at times and will openly chastise those who act selfishly or insensitively. She also has little patience for those who underestimate her and chauvinistic attitudes in general.

Multiverse Saian

I've been wanting to do another redraw after some time. And Saian is one of my favorite OCs, so there were many artworks of her I wanted to redraw. However, the one I wanted to redraw the most was the artwork from April 2020!

Unlike the original, I didn't make separated versions for each of Saian's counterparts. I've already also mentioned that Saian's entire theme centers around the wisteria. Even her surname Fujino means wisteria field.

In the Overwatch Version, Saian was co-leading the mafia in Kyoto alongside her twin Taira. While Taira was the face of the mafia, Saian was the mastermind working in the shadows. She was scouted by Reyes to join Overwatch’s special ops, Blackwatch, for her skills. While in Blackwatch, Saian worked closely with Moira up until Overwatch’s disbandment. She was later captured and brainwashed and mind controlled by Moira as part of Talon’s new project.

In Azure Bloom, my OC project, Saian is more of a side character in the series. She plays a more parental role towards one of the four main protagonists, Dante. While being on the sidelines she still handles her work as an assassin and running a secret assassin group she named after her theme “Wisteria.”

Saian’s backstory is still pretty much the same, running the mafia with her sister Taira. The only difference is that there’s no relation to Overwatch. Azure Bloom is more fantasy based compared to Overwatch, so Saian has more fantasy style in terms of design and skills. Unlike in Overwatch, Saian can materialize into petals in Azure Bloom and control it the same way Byakuya in Bleach can do (⁎⁍̴̆Ɛ⁍̴̆⁎)

She’s done! Ah my god, she’s my absolute queen amongst all my OCs😭😩 No one can ever replace her (´༎ຶོρ༎ຶོ`) you all have no idea how much I simp over my own OCs. Most especially Saian. I just fucking love her.

If you asked me to make a tier list of all my OCs I’ve ever shared, Saian would have her own tier to herself.

I drew this without a background in mind as usual, so I went with the materials ibispaint had to offer and colored over it. I think it turned out well, but I’m in love with the blue background one.

So like I feel like Saian is now part of my Azure Bloom OC universe since I hardly have anything for her within Overwatch. So she may end up just being an Azure Bloom OC in the end. After all, she does have her own family in that universe than Overwatch. Plus, I can make her completely unhinged as much as I want to (*≧∀≦*)

I said I would go for Saian because she can spoil and cherish the absolute hell out of me. She may be using me, her love may be fake and she can literally get rid of me after I'm no longer useful but she'll definitely let me keep the things she got me 😭

I have made a header image for my Tumblr, now involving my main OCs from some of my favorite fandoms along with the OC that started it off right in the center.

It was originally supposed to be one banner, but me adding more work for myself, loves to make things complicated and made separate ones for all of them. Each OC’s banner has their name and the title or nickname they’re referred by.

Rukka Rosare, the very first OC I ever made. In Azure Bloom, she's known by many names, one being the Crescent Moon Princess. Rukka is a princess of the kingdom Draugruya. The crescent moon plays into the name due to the moon pendant she wears all the time. The pendant was given to her by her father, Conrart Reynfrey, on the day she was born. Which was also the day a crescent moon would rise.

Besides the pendant, Rukka seems to make apprearances in the night rather than during the day. During the day, she's always hiding away in her own study working on reports and other things. At night, she's out on missions since the darkness gives her more leverage in her attacks. Rukka can manipulate shadows, so fighting at night gives her a major advantage against enemies.

In Saian's banner, she has a wisteria theme. Her entire character revolves around the wisteria, in fact the name Fujino means wisteria field.

Saian represents the wisteria, a stunning looking purple blossom from Japan. Most had considered her to be rather harmless, but they were far from the truth. Saian welcomes anyone near her with open arms and a gentle smile on her face. But once they're close enough for her to touch, they're already caught in her deadly, sadistic trap.

Historically, Wisteria symbolizes long-life and immortality. Wisteria can live up to 100 years or even older. It’s no wonder this plant has gained such illustrious symbolism. It is a magnificent plant with impressive growth, high longevity, great beauty and intoxicating fragrance. In Japanese Kabuki theater, the symbolism for the Wisteria is Love, Sensuality, Support, Sensitivity, Bliss and Tenderness. Wisterias may be beautiful, but they can be quite toxic. All parts of the plant are poisonous, but it is most often the seeds or seed pods that are ingested.

Although she wasn’t the first oc I made in Samurai Warriors, she instantly became my favorite because I like ninjas. Ninjas are cool.

She has two banners due to her last name changing from Mizuno to Katō after her marriage with Katō Kiyomasa.

For Kana, she was given the nickname Viridescent Cyclone. This is mainly due to her aura and color being green. And the cyclone part of her nickname comes from her weapon, the three in one windmill blades. With her weapon, and ninjutsu, she is able to create a giant green vortex to attack her enemies.

In Haruna’s banner, her nickname is Lethal Beauty. Her name gives off a soft and sweet sounding tone, which makes people believe that she is harmless. She can appear to be sweet and loving to people, including her enemies, though that’s usually a facade she puts on to keep conversations going in the middle of the fight. Haruna actually can be an aggressive person, especially in a fight as she doesn’t fight fair.

While Haruna does keep up a sweet and cheerful persona, she isn’t one to hold back when the time comes. As mentioned above, Haruna can be aggressive, being a Bleach OC and all Haruna has immense strength.

Haruna is highly experience with kidō and so all her attacks can be infused with kidō to add more force to the impact. She can even infuse kidō into her hands to create a huge impact by flicking someone in the head.

In Veruca’s banner, her nickname ‘The Wolf’s Shadow’ refers to a number of things within her character. The wolf represents the Mac Uáid family, most specifically the family patronus. Each member of the Mac Uáid has a different wolf as their patronus.

In regards to Veruca’s nickname, the Shadow part refers to Veruca being in Coby’s shadow throughout her beginnings at Hogwarts with how everyone constantly compared her to Coby whether it was good or bad.

It also refers to her patronus. Both Veruca and Coby have the Arctic Wolf patronus, where Coby’s is the alpha and Veruca’s own is the shadow of the alpha Arctic Wolf. The shadow can be seen more in a negative or sensitive side compared to the alpha.

MC Patronus

In Airong’s banner, her nickname is The Red Hornet. Airong’s theme and symbolism is based off actual red hornets. The red is not only Airong’s aura and color, but the color of the kingdom she serves in.

Airong is known as the red hornet due to her quick speed and agility, along with her fast and deadly strikes. Like hornets, the one underlying factor which makes Airong so dangerous is her ‘stings.’ Getting struck by Airong can be fatal, especially when her blades are coated in poison. Being an assassin, Airong is also pretty fast and stealthy. Outrunning her may be near damn impossible.

There’s an alternative to her nickname being ‘The Tiger’s Hornet.’ A reference to being the personal guard and assassin for the Sun Family in the Kingdom of Sun Wu. Sun Jian, was known as the Tiger of Jiangdong.
