Once again based (so loosely) off THIS Derry Girls scene. This takes place when Odette and Sacheo first go to Ishgard in search of a missing Yein. At this point, Odette has been following a very familiar moth which led her first to Sacheo, Yein's brother, and then both of them to Lia's front door. They had no meeting scheduled nor letter of introduction but Odette was simply so bubbly and insistent that Lucca had to acquiesce. And so our unlikely duo found themselves before the Lady Lia Amelune. Rough start. (Lucca is Lia's man servant. You can see him standing at the door in shot 3!)

They were born in the same celestial river. They emerged one day together, only to find themselves on opposite banks, separated by the currents.

Yein leads the Court of Sparrows and provides divine guidance in times of uncertainty. They are the guardian of lost souls and undiscovered secrets. They symbolize progress, perseverance, and protection. Sparrows sighted in unusual places or numbers late at night is thought to be a sign of their presence. They can be most easily found in the spring and summer months, enjoying warm nights and the singing of insects.

Sacheo rules the Court of Crows and dwells in the cold morning fog. He lords over the barren places in the woods, emerging only to hunt. He is believed to be drawn to misguided souls, capable of smelling any malice in their hearts. He symbolizes stagnation and decay, and the inevitability of death. His presence is tied to corvids mourning for their family or fireflies shining at their brightest. He is most dangerous in the autumn and winter months.

@sealrock has ... so much backstory to Paris and their family. Just... so much lore... I'm annoyed at the fact it's not laid out in novel format for me to read. *taps foot impatiently* [Also shout out to my eternal beloved, Kirke.]

@ahollowgrave's Odette is another character with enough backstory to provide me with at least a solid trilogy. Which I am waiting. for.

@riftdancing and @gatheredfates need to give me Siyoh and Azuma's stories as an interweaving narrative. They can each write a couple of chapters. [Another shout out to my other eternal beloveds, Z and Blink]

@notorious-sparrow ... okay look, I love Yein ( @iron-sparrow's main) and Yein is Our Beloved. However, I am deeply curious about Sacheo and I want a book. Now.

@rylen-ashworth is okay, I guess. (<3 gotta needle you, my dude) And he's written a character with a solid backstory that actually affects how the character acts in daily life, which I find particularly rare in RP communities. (Trauma, yeah, people reflect that, but also how does their backstory affect how they interact with others on a friendly basis? Etc.)

@shroudkeeper / @gentlekami needs to deliver a trilogy to my desk on Kikyo within the week, thank you. I need to read novels about her.

@luck-and-larceny and @dumb-hat also need to deliver a trilogy to me about Malika and Evander, with additional overlaying chapters. I particularly want one that's Malika editing Evander's written memoirs of things they did together.

When Odette showed up at Lia's house inquiring about a missing Yein, who Lia had just laid to rest, did she think that she and this round moonbeam would become so entangled? Did she think Odette would show back up with a 'living' Yein? Does she have strong feelings about Yein and Odette's ashkin status, or does she prefer not to think too much about it?

This is a good opportunity for me to mention Lia's foresight! While her visions of the future are vague (and sporadic) at best, I think she was able to divine from them that someone would be coming to find Yein. She certainly could not have anticipated someone like Odette.

But when Lia laid eyes on Odette, she knew; she knew this was right. She would have been slightly more wary of Sacheo despite his ties to the four custodial families, but Odette's presence would have put her at ease. The moonlight in them spoke to each other, you know?

A part of her might have suspected she and Odette would weave something of a future path together, but the nature of their relationship might surprise her a little bit even now. Lia isn't known for loving freely, after all, hungry though she might be.

As for the whole undead part? Uh, hey, death isn't the end. (Some people are into dragons, so... HEY, WHATEVER. NOT LIKE HALONE GIVES A FUCK.)

Character themes? Character themes! I don't know if any of y'all have a process with OC playlists, but mine is literally just throwing anything with the OC's vibe into their music collection and then forgetting I have a playlist at all.

Doesn't help that I hit a massive creativity roadblock earlier this year.

But I was inspired by a post from @archaiclumina, and the resulting itch never quite went away. So here are some instrumental tracks that hit the OC vibes just right...

Yein Que-Sae

Despite their intimidating size and appearance, Yein is typically very polite and friendly to others. When they speak, their voice rolls forth in a low, comforting growl -- a gentle rumble reminiscent of smooth river rocks tumbling over each other.

Yein is no stranger to the ugliness of the star, and it's ravaged their appearance. Even so, they are sworn to preserve and honor the sanctity of all life. To achieve this, they greet the world they have devoted themself to with an open heart. They give their love to others freely, in spite of all their fears and their pain. In combat, they will raise their shield before they draw their sword.

Yein is a fighter, and this is how they fight.

Sacheo Maz-Yeh

Sacheo loves his sibling, but he is very much not like them. Here is a gaping wound of a man, a scar upon the aetheric tapestry woven into the world.

Anyone with special sight can see the rot he has allowed to spread across his own heart. His sorrow runs deep, and rather than try to heal from it, he's nurtured it with poison until it grew into an unquenchable rage. He wields this rage expertly, however, and directs it at (perceived) threats against himself and his clan.

To his credit, Sacheo is an effective protector. For him, no sacrifice is too great.

Lia A’yue-Len

House Amedelune is built upon the A'yue-Len bloodline and their enduring legacy of survival. Little of the old clan remains today except for Lia and the family she guides with her iron fist.

The youngest of her generation, she was determined since her youth to carve for herself a life that could be lived on her own terms. She has shed the blood of many to achieve this; her spear knows the taste of dragon and elezen flesh very well.

Currently, Lia remains the head of House Amedelune and continues gazing ahead into the future. After all, the present is fleeting.

I do have a few other OCs floating around, but these three are kind of the "mains" in my head. Hope you enjoyed.
