Scrunkly Week day 4: cold hands, warm drinks

This was the last one I made and it was painful — I wasn't sure how to give them clothes but I somehow managed to, Medibang kept crashing for more than an hour, I was incredibly nervous and overstimulated just URGH

They're drinking mulled wine blood — I remembered when I was younger me and my (extended) family went to a festival in October/November and they drank mulled wine. Idk why I thought of that

Scrunkly Week Day 4 : Autumn

Prompt: sitting by a cosy fire

Have I ever watched My Hero Academia? No (unless we count that one movie). Do I know much about it as a whole? Also no. But am I endlessly fixated on a Monoma villain AU that my friend @hero-nerd and I have been slowly developing? Yes, absolutely. So! Here's some art from that, haha

A theory that we have fully incorporated in this AU is the idea that Toga and Monoma are actually twins that were separated at birth, and so the drawing I chose to do was of them sitting together while watching a fire during their first autumn together after they found each other again

The items on the mantle are, from left to right: one of Toga's needles, Compress's mask, Monoma's bag of marbles (very specific to the villain AU), a teddy bear that Compress gave Monoma when he first became his mentor (Also very AU specific), and a framed photo of the three of them together :]

Scrunkly Week! Day 4

Autumn: Trick Or Treating Time!

King: witch(inspired by a friends Minecraft skin)

Queen: Vampire(inspired by that same friends vision)

About an hour into trick or treating lancer got upset because now he wanted to be the monster

Really like how King and Queen turned out. Not a fan of Lancer and Rouxls. Mainly bc I did those two in the dark with not great lighting and also doing those costumes from memory so now they look like they’re from ToysRUs

I came up with the plan of at the end of the week I’ll have digital versions of all my Scrunkly Week submissions so they could be fully rendered but I make no promises since I start school this Tuesday and I am yet to fix my sleep schedule so :)

These were an amazing time to draw,, I love all of the prompts so far!! I loved drawing that sunset,, they're just so cosy with eachother😭

Raen and Yume both enjoy trick or treating, as it's one of the few times where they get to just be themselves!! (Raen is a lot more enthusiastic about it, though XD )

Scrunkly Week 2024 | Day four

Autumn

I didn't have time to clean this one up so I think the other three after this are gonna be in a similar messy state, but honestly, I don't mind. I like the messy charm it's got lol

In terms of Amy's Halloween traditions, she would trick or treat for as long as she possibly could bc who doesn't turn down free candy? But once she's not really able to anymore, she'd be one of those people who makes homemade goodies specifically to give out to trick or treaters lol

In a lot of promo material, Amy tends to dress up as a witch, which is fun and all, but I wanted to draw something a little different. So I present to you, a vampire princess! XD

Autumn!

I’ve been wanting to do this for a while so enjoy this little Factventure yuri prompt! I thought of this the other day when a guy flirted with me in a bookstore— he was nothing like Tristan! He was just kinda awkward Writing under read more! also yeah the Picrew is what Claire (or fact) looks like!

“Well if it ain’t the pretty bookstore girl.” Claire cursed under her breath as she heard that stupid voice from behind her. She slowly turned around to see the same guy who had been flirting with her all week. “Hello Tristan.” “Oh don’t give me that sour look…you missed me~” he leaned against the door way with a smirk on his face. “Would you have a heart attack if I said I didn’t? Because that would be fucking great.” “Someone’s feisty.” “I told you already, I’m not into you, nor ANY men!” She huffed and pushed past him, clutching onto her novel and praying she’d be able to get out of this situation.he caught her with his arm and pulled her close to him. “Not so fast baby.” “Hey!” He leaned in to kiss her but someone pushed him away. It was a woman, around Claire’s age it looked, with long brown hair and wearing—a barista apron? This woman looked pretty strong, she definitely didn’t look like someone who worked at a coffee shop. “She was tryin ya get ya off, creep!” Well that certainly wasn’t like the accent of people from around here… The woman’s green eyes were filled with annoyance as she glared at Tristan. “Oh come on, I was wooing her! She would’ve been into it eventually!” “Oh why don’t you just go suck your own dick so you don’t hafta bug pretty ladies! Scat!” He scoffed and ran off. The woman spit at him and then walked over to Claire. “You alright sweetheart?” Claire nodded. “Thank you so much he’s…he’s been doing this for a while.” “Well as long as I’m workin here, I’ll keep him away. Name’s Raina!” “Claire. I come here often but I’ve never seen you.” “I’m new! Just moved here from Texas!” “Gosh that’s a long way…from Texas all the way up here in New York…what made you come here?” “Well, if you want I could make you some coffee and we could go on a walk? I’ll tell ya then.” “Sure! Thank you very much I’d love that!” Raina gave her a sweet smile and they walked into the cafe part of the bookstore. Claire was a little nervous to ask for her favorite since it was so specific but she whipped it up in no time! She even gave it to her for free. She slipped her book into her bag and Raina took off her apron. “Ready?” “Mhm.” She opened the door for Claire and they both stepped out into the crisp fall air. They walked in silence for a little while before Raina took a deep breath. “A lot different out here than down there…” “Must be hot.” “You got no idea sweetie.” She chuckled. “I only knew bout this kinda fall from movies.” “Is that why you moved?” “Nah there’s just more opportunities for me.” “Ohh…” Raina kicked a few leaves. “I just…I wanted ta see more! See more of the world than searin hot fields everywhere. Tired of workin on a farm all the damn time. Also the men down there ain’t much better than here.” “Oh god, I can only imagine.” Claire rolled her eyes. “I only get flirted with a couple times a day now.” “I can’t seem to escape it.” “I noticed. I’ll protect ya if ya like.” “That would be…helpful actually. I’m going to be working at the bookstore, starting next week.” Raina grinned. “Well ain’t that perfect!” She nodded with a blush on her face. “I-I didn’t just drag you away from work did I?” “I mean…I should probably go back. But I’ll see you soon sweetie?” “Y-yep!” “See you then.” She gave her a wink and jokingly, or at least Claire thought it must have been like that, kissed her hand. She watched Raina leave and immediately started running towards her home. She felt happy. No more stupid boys flirting with her! The leaves flew up past her as she ran home, set on reading her book. and not thinking about her new friend—

Scrunkly Week: Day 4

When the Beat Bugs decided to take a year off from music in order to focus on their other interests, Kumi never thought it would take her this far. But here she is, on a book tour, spending the night with new friend and writing hopeful Isabella, in an area far colder than she had ever experienced before. Her new friend did try to make her more comfortable, with everything from a moss blanket to a drink from the nearby hot spring. At some point, Kumi mentioned what she and her friends back home usually do, and soon after, a group of cold weather bugs, friends of a friend, were gathered to play a little tune for her. In that moment...well, she'd have to ask Buzz about it once she gets home to be sure...but it felt like she was Flying.

day 4 of scrunkly week already woah

the theme is autumn! i went with both sitting by a cosy fire + cold hands, warm drinks for the prompts! i dont celebrate halloween so i feel detached from prompts related to that haha

as usual, i wrote a scenario for my selfship, uppercut (my oc, paper cut x joe reverse 1999) BUT i did add mercuria reverse 1999 into the mix bc idk i just like the (potential) dynamic between her and joe, although idk her that well (the wiki doesnt have her info either so...) and this isnt explicitly romantic but there is so-called tension. so

Paper Cut has grown accustomed to the sound of foreign yet warm laughter. The flames that occupy the bonfire in front of him could only hope to rival such warmth. But the best thing about this kind of laughter is that sometimes, it would include his own. It’d make for a great journal entry and an even greater bandage.

“Leave it to J to get Dr. Cut of all people to leave his lil’ man cave.”

Another wave of laughter ensues, this time he joins in. He can’t deny the person’s claim - J’s siren call was the straw that broke the camel’s back. But he has no regrets; even with all the unfamiliar faces and voices, he feels like he’s finally home.

“Not that hard really. The dude just needed a little push.”

J  frequently shrugs off any mention of his effort to bring Paper Cut out of his shell easily. He’s a strong believer in the efforts Paper Cut himself made to get out there. It’s just a coincidence that the biker was there for him and his journey.

“A ‘little push’ is an understatement of the century.”

Mercuria’s comment prompts another round of unashamed laughter. At this point, Paper Cut has chosen to watch this little drama about him silently, metaphorical popcorn in hand. The next scene starts with J rolling his eyes and folding his arms.

“Okay, maybe I didn’t need to visit him every single day but–”

“And the fact that you’d pretend to be hurt specifically on Thursdays.”

“Thursdays are unlucky days for me! It’s not even pretend sometimes!”

“Pfft, sometimes.”

The laughter never seems to die down. That observation can be attributed to the fact that J being the center of attention – but he almost always is the center of attention, just how he likes his social interactions to be. But the best part is that he doesn’t even have to try. Paper Cut supposes that’s just how it is when everyone in the neighborhood knows your name and your game. But in a way, Paper Cut himself also garnered such a reputation.

Paper Cut’s job is to heal paper cuts and beyond. Even if he doesn’t believe it, his fame has been the consequence of his own choices. Not charging patients cash for medical services was and will always be what makes him infamous. It’d be abnormal if it was simply free but the strange charging fee of a piece of paper for every session would’ve been enough for people to call him crazy.

You can call him a quack all you want but at the end of the day, he gets the job done – this is what Joe thinks of his work ethics. Joe was more concerned that he wasn’t taking care of his own health. After all, the doctor can’t heal if he himself is sick, right?

“We got some hot cocoa, folks! J, help me pass it around.”

One of the unfamiliar faces announces and with his best service smile (which is his usual, ‘I-love-my-friends’ smile), J gives out warm mugs full of comfort.

Paper Cut mumbles a thank you and manages a small smile for J, which is reciprocated almost immediately. Just as quickly, Mercuria has to stifle the voice of the person sitting beside her before they could make things awkward for the two. That moment was enough to make her feel like she’s thirdwheeling so there’s certainly no need to add fuel to that fire.

Everyone there knows that there’s some kind of tension between the two (or at least, almost everyone - one guy insists that they’re simply “very close friends”). They’d rather not assume but they’ve grown somewhat impatient waiting for their friendship to eventually transform into a romance. And they have to admit, the two men make good in-group gossip material.

As soon as J is done with his arduous task, he plops down next to Paper Cut with a mug of his own, which he extends towards his seatmate. Paper Cut chuckles and clinks his mug with J’s to humor him. It works, as J lets out a satisfied laugh. But J is pleasantly surprised when Paper Cut moves to imitate him but with his own other seatmate, Mercuria, instead. And she also humors him.

Before long, the air is filled with that warm, foreign laughter again as people clink their mugs affectionately. Paper Cut closes his eyes, submerging himself in an orchestra of delight.

On that night, eternal bonds were forged.
