Fan Service
Pairing: Top!Male Reader x Chris Evans x Jensen Ackles Genre: SWP (Smut without Plot - very little plot) Request: Maybe it's a convention and the male reader is a fan of both of them and smut happens (you can choose everything) but bubble butt Chris and bubble butt Jensen with Dom top male reader Requested by: @innerpiratefun A/N: Here's another Top Male Reader. Hope you like it! (I don't own the gif above. I found each one on the internet and merged them together.)
It was that time of the year again when the convention centres were full of cosplayers and superfans who got together to appreciate the superhero-filled cinematic universes that offered entertainment, intrigue, and the occasional eye candy. Y/n stood, excitedly, in line waiting to get a picture with the Marvel actor, Chris Evans, and the latest addition to the Vought Cinematic Universe, Jensen Ackles.
He couldn’t help but admire the two handsome actors, as they joked together with a fan. Y/n’s gaze flits between each of the actors’ lips and the tamed beards that surrounded them. The admirable gaze turns lustful, the lower Y/n’s eyes travel as Chris and Jensen’s physiques become the focus of his stare. The fan’s eyes linger over the muscular nature of both actors for a moment before lowering to their jeans. Y/n’s mind goes into overdrive as he imagines what hides under the jeans of each actor.
“Alrighty, who’s up next?” Jensen’s voice catches Y/n’s attention breaking him out of his hot and heavy thoughts. He smiles at the actors as he moves towards them for a photo, giving each actor a tight hug, and allowing his gaze to shift downwards to the outline of their behinds. In a few moments, after the short interaction, Y/n walks off with his phone in hand having taken a photo with each actor.
After a few hours of listening to panel discussions, buying merch, and talking with other fans, Y/n was ready to leave and head to his hotel. He arrives back at the hotel and is lucky enough to see Jensen and Chris by the bar area, sharing drinks and laughing amongst themselves. He catches Jensen’s attention, who nods for him to come over. “Hey, we saw you at the convention.” Chris acknowledges the fan, watching him take a seat between them.
“Yeah, that was me. It was really good to see you, guys.” Y/n nods his head, feeling a bit nervous at the presence of the actors. “Yeah, did you like what you saw?” Jensen leans closer to Y/n when he speaks, offering a smirk. “You were looking at us pretty hard back at the photo stand,” Chris adds with an interested smile, his eyes briefly meet Jensen’s before looking back at Y/n.
One answer. That was all it took for Y/n to feel the two famous actors’ lips on his lips and his neck. The three passionately kiss each other while eagerly undressing each other and letting their hands roam over their bodies. Y/n shares a kiss with Chris, their lips pressing against each other and their tongues tossing around in their mouths.
Jensen roughly kisses down Y/n’s body, his beard, adding to the sensation the fan feels as he breathes heavily at the feeling of Jensen’s tongue swirling around his nipple. While his other nipple is entertained by the actor’s wet index finger and thumb. Y/n’s mouth pulls away from Chris’ to release a deep moan, causing the Marvel actor to move his lips to Y/n’s neck, kissing and biting him hard enough to leave marks.
Soon enough, the actors are on their knees before Y/n’s hard cock. The actors kiss each other before sliding their mouths on each side of Y/n’s cock, letting their tongues massage the hard member, eliciting a lustful “yeah” from the fan. As if his lust couldn’t grow, Y/n looks down at the sight of the actors praising his member with their lips and tongues. He looks past that to see them massaging each others’ butts.
The sight before Y/n prompts him to lift Chris up, giving the actor a quick kiss, and tossing him onto the bed. Chris positions himself on the bed on all fours, giving Y/n a clear visual of the actor’s pinkish hole and the hair that surrounded it. Y/n leans forward and his hands grab at Chris’ firm yet thick ass, squeezing it, massaging it in circles, and admiring the way it looked.
“Please…” Chris’ voice is heard over the sound of Jensen’s mouth sucking Y/n’s fingers while Y/n teasingly kissing America’s ass. “Please what?” Y/n questions huskily back before slapping Chris’ ass with his other hand earning a soft moan from the actor. “Don’t be a tease.” The actor speaks, spreading his legs wider, to the point where his knees are at the edge of the bed and his hole un-mistakingly begging for attention.
Jensen’s mouth moves Y/n’s fingers to his cock, wrapping his lips around the hard member and bobbing his head back and forth. Jensen’s tongue wraps, swipes, and massages the cock, allowing Jensen to taste the fan’s precum. Y//n’s hips move, in response to Jensen’s mouth, pushing his cock deeper into the man’s mouth. Jensen feels a rush of arousal at the sound of Y/n’s moaning, as the fan’s cock pushes against the back of the actor’s throat causing him to gag.
Y/n moans with his mouth on Chris’ hole, swirling his tongue around the sensitive spot, pushing it in and out of his hole. Chris pushes his ass further back into Y/n’s mouth, chasing the pleasure his fan’s tongue provides. Y/n’s tongue teases and prepares Chris’ hole before slowly dragging down to the Marvel actor’s balls. Y/n takes the balls into his mouth as his finger slips into the actor’s hole, causing a tingling feeling to course through Chris’ body.
“Mhm…” Chris releases a stifled moan as his upper body is relaxed on the bed. He feels another finger push into his hole while Y/n’s mouth closes around his leaking member. Two fingers become three, and three becomes four, stretching and thrusting inside the hero’s ass causing him to move his hips along with the thrust.
It doesn’t take long for Y/n to position his cock at Chris’ hole, lightly tapping it on the hairy pinkish area. “Tell me what you want, Chris.” Y/n deeply requests, pushing his tip inside but pulling it out again, not allowing his cock to go too deep inside yet. “You…” Chris softly breathes out, taking a break from prepping Jensen’s hole. Chris’ tongue goes back to swirling around Jensen’s hairy hole, flicking his tongue in different directions before thrusting inside the other actor’s hole.
“Fuck me, Evans…” Jensen mutters softly as he feels Chris moan on his hole. Jensen can feel Chris’ tongue push back and forth, he can tell that Y/n was finally fucking the Marvel star. He reaches behind him and pushes Chris’ face deeper into his ass causing him to moan at the feeling of Chris’ lips softly biting around his hole before.
Y/n’s thrusts were slow, controlled, and deep. The fan would watch as his cock disappear into Evans’ hole before rolling his hips back and pulling it out again. “God, such a nice fucking ass…” Y/n groans, lost in pleasure, while his hands grip Chris’ hips. Y/n lurches his head back lost in the sensation of Chris’ warm hole tightening around his cock, the feeling of the hairs on Chris’ ass tickling his waist, and the sound of moaning that filled the room.
They’d changed positions as Y/n lay on his back while the Avengers’ actor slowly brought his down onto Y/n’s cock. “Fuck…” Chris’ elongated moan, caught Jensen’s attention as he saw Chris take the entire length of Y/n’s cock in his ass. Jensen felt his cock twitch at the sight and more so at the feeling of Y/n’s fingers pushing into his hairy ass. Y/n, in this position, noticed how the on Chris’ ass was shorter and straight compared to the hair on Jensen’s, which was slightly longer and curly.
Y/n rolled his hips upwards and lowered it at a sensual pace as he thrusts his cock into Chris’s ass. Chris gyrates his hips when he feels the cock push inside of him and it hit close to his spot. “Deeper.” The blue-eyed moans around The Boys actor’s cock, continuing to bob his head back and forth on the thick cock. Jenson has his hand on the back of Chris’ head controlling the movements of his head while also rolling his cock into his mouth.
Y/n now had the tip of his cock on Jensen’s hole rubbing it around before slowly pushing it inside. “Yeah, that’s it.” The green-eyed actor moans as he feels Y/n’s cock push inside of him prompting him to push his cock into Evan’s ass. The scene was erotic, Y/n placed his hands behind his head as Jensen fucked himself with Y/n’s cock manoeuvring his ass back and forth on his cock, simultaneously fucking Evans. Chris copies Jensen’s movements by pushing his ass back and forth relative to Jensen’s movements.
“I-I’m gonna cum.” Chris moans, with his ass on Jensen’s face. He gyrates his hips on the actor’s face while stroking his cock over the man’s muscular chest. Y/n continues to thrust back and forth, in a much faster motion, into Jensen’s ass. The fan leans in closer to Chris, kissing him on the lips. “Give it to me, Chris… cum for me.” Y/n encourages panting softly, as he brings his lips closer to Evan’s throbbing cock.
Y/n continues to suck Chris’s cock, his tongue can feel the throbbing veins in the cock. It isn’t long before a string of curse words slip from Chris’ mouth as copious amounts of cum shoot out of his cock. Cum slips out of Y/n’s mouth and drips on Jensen’s chest, causing him to take some of the mixture of cum and saliva into his hand and start stroking his cock. Chris moves off of Jensen’s face and takes the Supernatural star’s cock into his mouth, eagerly sucking it.
Jensen arches his back into a moan as he feels Y/n’s dick push deep inside while Chris sucks him off. Y/n’s fingers start to squeeze and pinch at Jensen’s nipples, bringing him closer to climax. “Oh, yeah, fuck.” Y/n’s thrust speeds up at the feeling of Jensen’s hole tightening around his cock. “Oh, god, yes…” Jensen’s warm load sprays over Chris’ face and mouth, feeling an overload of stimulation.
Y/n feels Jensen and Chris collectively suck his cock while staring up at him. Their mouths collide on either side of Y/n’s cock with their tongues teasing and twirling on the cock. Y/n’s hands grip the back of each of the actors’ heads, using their mouths to bring himself closer to the edge. It isn’t long before Y/n’s load spills out of his cock, landing on the faces of the actors as they give satisfied smiles at him. The actors’ tongues and lips continue to pleasure Y/n’s sensitive cock, pulling the last drops of cum they can.
“Nothing like a little fan service to end the convention weekend, eh?” Jensen grins at the fellow actor. “Makes all of them all the more worth it.” Chris jests back before they share a kiss with Y/n.

Rafal Trzaskowski, the candidate for the PM’s liberal-democratic coalition, has chosen to fight his two nearest challengers on the right over immigration and security, leaving the campaign largely devoid of any fresh ideas.
“I’m proposing a fundamental change, which is that the 800+ child subsidy for Ukrainians should only be given to those who work, live and pay taxes in Poland,” the 53-year-old mayor of Warsaw, Rafal Trzaskowski, told supporters at a January campaign event in eastern Poland.
Trzaskowski, the candidate of the Civic Platform party led by Prime Minister Donald Tusk, said Poland should not repeat the mistakes made by countries like Sweden and Germany, where “it paid off [for immigrants] to come just for the social benefits.”
That proposal clearly indicated that Trzaskowski, long seen as a member of the progressive wing of the centre-right Civic Platform, was going to fight for voters on the right of Poland’s political spectrum.
Much of that work is already being done by the government itself, with Tusk introducing such populist measures as suspending the right of migrants on the Polish-Belarusian border to claim asylum on March 27 as well as announcing Poland would not henceforth adhere to various EU laws on migration, including the Dublin Regulation and the Pact on Migration and Asylum. But Trzaskowski’s statements on benefits for Ukrainians, coming from a man otherwise considered a progressive liberal, are clearly meant to build on that.
The Tusk camp’s bet is that liberal voters will vote for Trzaskowski anyway, as most believe replacing a president controlled by Law and Justice (PiS), as the incumbent Andrzej Duda is, would allow the government to take more control over the country. The main battleground, therefore, is to steal as many votes as possible from the right wing.
Current polls indicate that Trzaskowski is on track to win the election, the first round of which will be held on May 18 (if necessary, a second round will be held on June 1), although the rapid rise of Slawomir Mentzen, the candidate of the far-right Confederation alliance, is raising concerns among some over the potential long-term costs of liberals borrowing the language and themes of the radical right.
Behind the numbers
Ben Stanley of SWPS University’s Faculty of Social Sciences in Warsaw, who monitors polling trends, tells BIRN that when it comes to the main two candidates, Rafal Trzaskowski and Karol Nawrocki – presented as a “civic” candidate but endorsed by the previous ruling conservative party of Law and Justice (PiS) – the polls have been “fairly stable”.
Trzaskowski’s support tracks at 36-37 per cent while Nawrocki’s stands at around 25 per cent, with the Warsaw mayor dropping a few percentage points since January as new candidates on the left announced their candidacy (so far, over 40 individuals have announced they are running).
Yet the most dynamic evolution in support has been for the third-placed candidate, Mentzen, who started out at around 10 per cent and is now polling at 19-20 per cent.
“If current trends were to continue, Mentzen could reach Nawrocki, but that really depends,” Stanley comments. “Mentzen might actually have a ceiling for his support. And voters of Mentzen are typically male, young and from small towns, and this is a very volatile electorate who may declare their support now and later not show up on polling day.”
Stanley says a reason behind Mentzen’s success is that the 38-year-old tax adviser is seen as “hard-working and an effective campaigner”. However, the politician enjoyed a similar rise before the general election in 2023, only to struggle defending his policy proposals in the latter stages of the campaign and eventually saw his support drop significantly in the run-up to election day.
“It seems plausible that we might face a similar dynamic now,” Stanley says. “Mentzen is running an effective pre-campaign, but when faced with the detailed questioning that comes during the last part of the campaign, he might not manage so well.”
The most likely scenario for a second round remains a run-off between Trzaskowski and Nawrocki. In that scenario, Stanley’s numbers put Trzaskowski at 56 per cent support versus 44 per cent for Nawrocki.
“The race is Trzaskowski’s to lose,” Stanley thinks, adding that Nawrocki has been enjoying fairly stable levels of support from PiS’s core vote, but not bringing much additional value by himself.
“Nawrocki is a rather remote individual, not particularly appealing,” Stanley thinks. “In the past, with Andrzej Duda or [the former late president] Lech Kaczynski, PiS could count on the candidate’s appeal with heartland Poland. People could identify and feel a connection with the candidates. But this is not the case with Nawrocki.”
Security – and only security
The 42-year-old Nawrocki, who currently runs the Institute for National Remembrance, has been promoting PiS’s version of political history in this and previous posts for many years. As such, the historian’s speeches during the electoral campaign reference major events in Poland’s past to draw parallels with current challenges related to – almost invariably – immigration and security.
On March 27, Nawrocki challenged Trzaskowski to a debate on the security of the Polish state in the context of the situation globally and on its borders, where a migration crisis is being fomented by the regime of Belarusian dictator Aleksandr Lukashenko with Russia’s assistance in order to destabilise the EU.
On April 9, they finally got round to debating each other, in what actually turned out to be two separate events, hastily organised and without the presence of all the candidates in either. The confusion ensued after Trzaskowski made an open invitation to Nawrocki to debate him in the small city of Konskie in central Poland. Other candidates complained that they hadn’t been invited and some of them rushed off to Konskie to join nevertheless.
In the meantime, Trzaskowski and Nawrocki were having their own disagreements about which TV channels could broadcast the debate, with Nawrocki insisting some TV channels associated with right-wing parties be involved. In the end, one debate amongst five candidates – including Nawrocki but not Trzaskowski – was broadcast by these channels deemed right-wing. Later that evening, another debate featuring both Nawrocki and Trzaskowski was carried by the public service broadcaster, which a subsequent viewer poll showed the Warsaw mayor winning, followed by Nawrocki and parliamentary speaker Szymon Holownia.
Gavin Rae, a sociologist at Warsaw’s Kozminski University, says the candidates are mainly competing “on the right, on war and immigration, on who is the most militaristic and ready to spend more on the military.” The difficulty for PiS, Rae tells BIRN, is that “Tusk has moved so far to the right on these issues, that there is not much room left to compete with him.”
Rae describes Nawrocki as a “not likeable candidate and shady character”, and says it’s not clear why PiS picked him as their choice to stand in the election. It could be, Rae speculates, that with PiS leader Jaroslaw Kaczynski’s powers waning with age, Nawrocki was regarded as an outside option that avoids the party having to make an ultimate choice between its various competing factions.
Another source of weakness for PiS in these elections, Rae argues, is that “PiS lost its pro-social face”.
“With PiS, you used to see 15-20 per cent in support coming from core voters, nationalists and Catholics, but then they expanded because of the pro-social offer they made to people,” Rae explains. “Some voters were thinking, ‘I may not like PiS, but I’m getting the [now 800+ subsidy] so I will vote for them’.”
“But that kind of discourse is not central at all in this campaign, despite people’s living standards getting worse,” he adds.
According to Rae, Mentzen is definitely benefitting from the campaign being fought on the ground of the hard right. “They all speak about the same things, immigrants and the war, but while the others don’t want to say some things directly – for example, on the Ukrainians – Mentzen is clearly articulating those messages, and he is maybe the most believable when speaking about those things,” he says.
Rae points out that Mentzen’s popularity also comes from “articulating the frustrations of young men especially, telling them how to take care of themselves in this age of individualism.”
While the experts who spoke to BIRN for this article tend to think Mentzen is unlikely to steal second place from PiS’s Nawrocki, the fact that the campaign is being fought on topics where the far right is the most convincing comes with long-term risks.
“Poland’s government is actually making the same mistake as German mainstream parties and others in Europe did,” Olena Babakova, a Ukrainian journalist and lecturer at Vistula University in Warsaw, tells BIRN. “They think that if they use the arguments of the alt-right on migration, they will take away votes from them. But, as the situation in other countries has shown, what happens is that voters in the end decide to vote for the real thing, not a watered-down version.”

Two headlines which help explain the victory of Poland's pro-democracy opposition in Sunday's election...
Opozycja zmobilizowała niegłosujących. Na PiS głosował żelazny elektorat (The opposition mobilized non-voters. An iron electorate voted for PiS)
Stats are preliminary, but voter turnout was around 73% in Sunday's parliamentary election – a post-Communist high. The opposition got out the vote – big time. As many as 31% of the eligible voters who did not vote in the 2019 election voted in this one. Meanwhile, the ruling party whose acronym is PiS tightly held on to its own voters; it wasn't enough for them. 87% of PiS voters had voted in 2019.
Wśród młodych najwięcej stracił PiS (PiS lost most among young people)
Of the five party groupings which won seats in the Sejm, PiS came in fifth among voters under 30. Donald Tusk's Koalicja Obywatelska (KO) came in first and Lewnica came in second. The rigid socially conservative agenda of PiS was regarded as repulsive by many young people in Poland.
But wait, there's more!
One aspect of the youth vote which the second TVN24 article did not emphasize is that women were particularly important in the turnout. This is from a DW article about the defeat of PiS.
High turnout thanks to young and female voters
Observers say young and female voters, motivated by the issue of abortion rights — which the ruling PiS has sought to curtail and Donald Tusk has promised to liberalize — turned out in large numbers to support opposition parties. "Until recently, half of women said they would not vote," sociologist Justyna Kajta of SWPS University in Warsaw told AFP news agency. "Now these exit polls actually show more women than men voted."
From "half of women said they would not vote" to "more women than men voted" shows how decisive increased involvement by women, especially younger women, can be.
During the 2020 demonstrations against the extremist anti-abortion law authored by PiS I saw a sign which this election reminded me of. It displayed a fundamental truth as well as a great bilingual political pun based on a classic song by Bob Marley.

The word kraj is pronounced like the English word cry. In Polish, kraj means country though in certain contexts it tends to refer to Poland in particular. For language nerds, you may recognize it as coming from the same Slavic root as Ukraine (Ukraina as written in Polish).
For a well-functioning country, you need active participation by women in the political process. That happened this week in Poland. ❤️🇵🇱
So massive GOTV and appealing to forward-looking young people had a considerable impact in Poland. Those are lessons which should not be overlooked by center-left parties and coalitions in other countries.
BTW, a second exit poll was released for Sunday's election. It showed the current opposition with 249 seats in the Sejm; that's one more than the earlier poll. But the official results should be available by the middle of the week.

BALITANG KONSYUMER: Unveiling the Hidden Dangers of Skin-Whitening Products when Mercury is found and sold in the PH sparks brazenness alarm
MALOLOS, BULACAN -- In a world where fair skin is often seen as beautiful, skin-whitening products (SWP) can be very alluring. However, there is a hidden reality lurking beneath the promise of a more radiant complexion that potential buyers of these beauty commodities in the Philippines must consider. These supposedly harmless creams and lotions contain mercury, which has recently been brought to light through revelations regarding illegal trade.
Mercury, being a toxic heavy metal; is found in most SLPs because it inhibits melanin production. Mercury still pervades some brands sold on the market despite the regulatory bodies' ban like Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for instance here in the Philippines. The ramifications of employing such mercury-filled products are dire; they range from similar illnesses like contact dermatitis to more severe ones including immuno-compromised systems and neurologic defects.
A groundbreaking documentary dubbed 'The Dark Side of Skin-Lightening' was launched Monday morning (April 22nd, 2024 -- Bulacan local time) at La Consolacion University-Philippines (LCUP) in Malolos, Bulacan with an intention to create awareness about this pressing issue. The documentary, which was presented both in-person to 1,200 senior high school students and streamed LIVE on Facebook during the school's Earth Day Celebration, highlighted the global proliferation of mercury-added SLPs and the urgent need for stricter regulations to protect Filipino consumers.
During the forum, BAN Toxics conducts a LIVE testing session on the table using an XRF (X-Ray Fluorescence) analyzer, with the help of Traders Industrial Supply Company Inc. (TRISCO) ensuring no mercury is presented in some beauty products. All these imported or locally-made products are not completely sponsored for scientific hazard-related reasons.
In light of these shocking revelations from 'BAN Toxics', it is crucial for individuals to take proactive steps to safeguard their health and well-being. Before purchasing any of beauty or cosmetic products, especially skin-whitening creams to try it out… Consumers are advised to thoroughly check all the list of ingredients for any mention of mercury or other harmful chemicals when you always read the label.
The other thing is that, one should consider consulting with dermatologists or any trusted health professionals to guarantee safety and effectiveness of the products in question.
As long as the demand for skin lightening creams remains high, there will always be a need for consumers to be on guard. By being wise enough, well informed consumers can hugely assist in fighting against mercury laden beauty products’ illegal trade and create a culture of safe and responsible skincare practice.
Our natural skin color should be embraced and celebrated without falling for the dangerous traps hidden behind creams used to bleach the human skin.

Poland is gearing up for a parliamentary election on Sunday, the result of which is likely to have a major impact on the country’s direction, and polls suggest the race is too close to call.
The incumbent Law and Justice (PiS) government is seeking a third consecutive term in office, fighting a challenge from the main opposition coalition led by the former prime minister and European Council president Donald Tusk.
In a vicious and largely negative campaign, PiS has portrayed Tusk’s coalition as traitors to Poland, while Tusk has said the vote is the last chance to save democracy in Poland after eight years of PiS rolling back democratic freedoms.
Tusk has promised to relax strict anti-abortion laws and improve rights for LGBTQ+ people, and has also promised to restore relations with Brussels, which have been damaged over concerns that the PiS government has undermined the rule of law in Poland
Saturday is a day of campaign silence, meaning candidates made their final pitches to voters on Friday.
PiS, which campaigned on a platform of ensuring Poland’s security and keeping out migrants, had a setback on Tuesday when two of the country’s top military commanders resigned, apparently irritated by the politicisation of the army.
Polls have shown PiS hovering at between 31% and 36% in the polls, with Tusk’s Civic Coalition trailing a few percentage points behind. The outcome is likely to depend on the performance of several smaller parties and the election may be followed by a period of tense coalition negotiations or even political deadlock, with neither side able to form a workable coalition.
Tusk will be hoping he has the seats to form a government together with two other opposition forces, the centre-right Third Way coalition and the leftwing Lewica. PiS, meanwhile, may need to rely on wooing elements of Confederation, a collection of far-right nationalists, libertarians and monarchists.
Ben Stanley, a sociologist and political scientist at SWPS University in Warsaw, said: “There’s a lot of uncertainty and variation in the polls. If the recent polls are more or less right, we’re shaping up to have no clear winner.”
In an effort to boost turnout and circumvent campaign spending regulations, the government has organised a referendum to coincide with the election, asking voters a series of leading questions about subjects such as migration and raising the retirement age. It has also offered a series of cash prizes for various causes to reward high turnouts in small towns and villages, where PiS support is traditionally higher.
The PiS-aligned president, Andrzej Duda, called on Poles to vote in the referendum in an address on public television.
“I strongly encourage you to express your opinion on extremely important issues regarding our security, economic and social policy. It is Poles who should decide on the most important issues concerning our homeland,” Duda said.
PiS has portrayed Tusk as unpatriotic and a puppet for foreign interests. The party’s chair, Jarosław Kaczyński, has described him as “the personification of evil”.
Public television is strongly slanted towards PiS despite an obligation to be neutral, but has been legally required to give rare access to the airwaves to opposition politicians before the vote. In a televised debate on Monday, Tusk took on the prime minister, Mateusz Morawiecki, with both lead candidates looking nervous and out of sorts.
On Thursday, Tomasz Grodzki, the speaker of the upper house of parliament and part of Civic Coalition, used a televised address to condemn the PiS government, focusing on the army resignations. “They were educated in the tradition of the army being apolitical but have apparently had enough of attempts to change the civilian control over the army into party control,” he said.
Grodzki also covered traditional electoral ground such as inflation, waiting times for healthcare and education. “The time for changes has come,” he said.
Poland’s biggest liberal newspaper, Gazeta Wyborcza, called on the electorate to vote PiS out of office, in an editorial published on Friday. The newspaper, which has always been strongly critical of PiS, said the vote was as important as, if not more important than, the election of 1989 that ushered in the end of communism in Poland.
“Another Poland is within reach. A cheerful, friendly, cordial and open Poland, where the authorities do not separate themselves from the citizens with police cordons and do not spread hatred,” it said.

Militant, SWP etc have for sure made some unhelpful moves, but - there is a thread of radicalism in UK, that asks for more than soft centrism; there are young people puzzled and fed up by how inequity on such grand scale has come to be accepted; and almost everybody is struggling in ways that feel unamenable to anything other than radical system overhaul. If we hold hope, solidarity and energy, we could be about to witness a bit of turnaround.
Mick Lynch suggests that if the anti-strike bill passes, then workers should engage in workplace disobedience, and I think that's a pretty damn powerful thing for a union leader in the UK to say.
And where he leads, I think others will follow.

Name: Fugo
Species: Gargoyle
Gender: Male
Temperament: reclusive
Risk: medium
Notes:
Prior to entering the SWP he resided at a prestigious university until he brutally attacked a group after being vandalized.
After the event he brought himself to the SWP willingly to avoid further harm to himself and others.
During the day he's encased in a stoney shell due to the UV rays the sun produces therefore he's only active during the night.
His skin looks flesh-like but feels cold and smooth like marble. The only exception is his wings which feel like regular wings.
Usually reserved but becomes extremely aggressive if provoked. Guards have been able to de-escalate the conflict by using small UV torches to temporarily immobilize him.
He's extremely intelligent and has caused a few problems for various workers but not anything that has put the staff in danger.
Constantly reading in his dorm, rarely interacts with others.
Occasionally needs to go out to fly to exercise his wings.
He has refused to offer himself as research for now.
not a lot is known about his kind, the scientists are hoping for his eventual cooperation.

The ruling party has been losing ground in the last months and a tough winter lies ahead. Yet the democratic opposition has more work to do to convince voters of its unity and ability to govern.
For the first time in years, the Polish democratic opposition is giving off a less downbeat vibe. With a year to go before the next general election, its polling numbers are looking up too.
According to an aggregated poll by Ben Stanley, associate professor at the SWPS University of Social Sciences and Humanities, the only plausible parliamentary majority at the moment is an alliance of the three largest opposition forces: Civic Platform, Polska 2050 (the centrist party founded by Szymon Holownia) and the left-wing alliance Lewica. While the ruling Law and Justice (PiS) party allied with the far-right Konfederacja comes close, a united opposition is more likely to form the next government, according to the latest numbers published by Stanley.
Stanley’s aggregate, which is based on 14 different individual polls conducted by various research institutions, shows PiS’s support has been on a slow downward trend since early summer, weakening from around 38 per cent to 36 per cent. If this continues, the sociologist writes in a text for the weekly Polityka, “PiS’s aura of untouchability might quickly disappear.”
Reversing the tide is not going to be easy for PiS. In addition to the natural erosion in support for parties in long-term power, additional pressure is coming from surging inflation and energy costs, which are only likely to get worse as the cold season begins.
Furthermore, political commentator Galopujacy Major points out PiS has lacked any ability to come up with a fresh campaign theme that might rally its supporters behind the party. “PiS still can’t impose a narrative and each new attempt is unsuccessful,” Major tells BIRN.
“They already tried to start a scapegoating campaign against trans people, to accuse the opposition on the issue of war reparations, and now they’re trying to impose their narrative on the issue of the Vistula Spit canal,” he says, referring to a canal over the Polish section of the Vistula Spit that would allow ships to avoid the currently used Russian strait.
“That’s a controversial investment because it cost 2.5 billion zloty [525 million euros] and yet it turns out that larger boats can’t use it,” Major says. “That might be dangerous for PiS, because each billion lost in these times of inflation is a poke in the eyes of voters.”
Preserving living standards
Despite the challenges PiS faces, however, Major cautions it is not yet time for the Polish opposition to uncork the champagne.
PiS might not have been able to present an attractive new offer to the electorate, but in times of such extraordinary economic pressure the most important battleground is likely to be whether the governing party can maintain its traditional promise to voters, that of safeguarding their living standards.
While the opposition describes the current economic situation as disastrous, Major points out that unemployment is still low, medium and large companies are reporting profits, inflation is to some extent being mitigated by hikes in salaries, and the economy is not yet in recession.
On top of that, PiS has already announced that the minimum wage will be raised twice over the 12 months, reaching 4,000 zloty (850 euros) a month in 2024.
The government is already offering some subsidies to make up for the rise in energy costs and it could always pull new ones out of the bag as the election approaches.
“PiS is the most vulnerable it’s ever been since 2015,” Anna Wojciuk, a political scientist at Warsaw University, tells BIRN. “But that doesn’t mean it is weak or that it has lost.”
Wojciuk points out that PiS need only return to 38-40 per cent in the polls to find itself back in a winning position, which is both doable and something the party has achieved before.
“Nobody knows if PiS are capable of regaining support or not. But what we know for sure is that for them winning is priceless,” the political scientist explains. “That means they will not hesitate to spend as much as is necessary in order to win back voters.”
She also warns the governing party has previously shown it is not averse to resorting to more nefarious means to win support. In previous elections, for example, it engaged in surveillance of the opposition using the Pegasus spyware.
“It’s an increasingly uneven playing field,” is how Wojciuk regards the state of democratic elections in Poland.
