I'm assuming this is relating to my tags on a "romance choice in Horizon" post--I've posted about it myself at length before, so I won't go into too much detail here, but here's how:

while Aloy is not a blank slate character, her arc can be carried through in the same way through a romance with any host of characters, not just one

while we know your choices in Horizon don't affect the overall narrative (like the big choices in ME or DA or BG3), romance isn't in and of itself a narrative-altering choice. It might alter a side quest and a few cutscenes--exactly like the Desert Clan commander quest in HFW, so there's already precedent

GG wanted to do it in HZD but (rightly!) decided it wasn't the right time--and now clearly it is. Aloy's clearly grown in her arc, and now the devs can bring their initial ideas forward into her culminating game.

The way to do it is the same as you see it in other games. Keep the choice pool small (4 max). Conversation options and choice points, culminating in a romance scene. (much like we saw in HBS itself, fwiw.) We're talking a handful of varied dialogue and cutscenes--not worldstate-changing stuff like "cure the Genophage or don't" or "side with the Mages or the Templars." It'd be a simple mechanic to add to Aloy's story and a way to increase the player's immersion. Horizon isn't a full-on RPG, but it also isn't a linear game. It exists in a central space in which romance options still completely fit. GG is amazing at writing and changing details based on what order you do quests in, so why not this?

- Tsukasa has cameos with 11 different characters, Emu with 16, Nene with 13, and Rui with 12.

- Tsukasa is losing to Nene and Rui despite being more social than them, which is a neat and subtle nod to the fact that he is annoying and most people who haven’t built up a tolerance to him probably do not want to be near him in a card.

- Tsukasa and Nene have never had a card cameo with a member of MMJ. Rui has never had a card cameo with a member of L/N. Emu has a cameo with every unit.

- Tsukasa shares the spotlight of his cards with Rui over 2x more than he does with other characters, and the same is true with Emu wrt Nene.

- Nene will not share the spotlight of her cards with anyone but close friends apparently, but she will show up in the most random character’s cards.

- there are a lot of full unit cameos: Nene’s trained dazzling lights card and untrained mermaid card, Emu’s untrained island panic card, Rui’s trained and untrained fragment sekai card and his wonder halloween card, Tsukasa’s WMS card. (Outside of WxS members, there’s Meiko’s OHE card).

- 1 on 1 cards where both characters are clearly in frame are rarer (as in, their full head is visible) (I’m only going to list cards with two wxs members for brevity’s sake):

- Tsukasa and Emu: 2 out of 5 (emu’s untrained wonder halloween 3* and untrained popping in my heart 4*)

- Tsukasa and Nene: 1 out of 8 (nene’s untrained new years 3*)

- Tsukasa and Rui: 7 out of 13 (Tsukasa’s untrained dollfes 4*, Rui’s untrained picnic 3*, Tsukasa’s untrained RMD 3*, Rui’s untrained phoenix 3*, Tsukasa’s untrained pandemonium 4*, Tsukasa’s untrained hello good day 4*, Tsukasa’s untrained BLF 3*)

- a very blurry Rui + Nene show up in Ena’s untrained picnic card, and a very blurry Nene is next to Rui in his untrained RMD card. Both of these count as cameos.

- A hand holding a phone does not count as a cameo - Emu is holding the phone in Miku’s untrained sports festival card, and Nene is holding the phone in Rui’s untrained canary card, but neither of these count as a cameo.

- representations of wxs do not count.

- there are three animals meant to represent emu/nene/rui in lens trained gleaming stars 4*, which don’t count

- there’s a squirrel and monkey meant to represent nene and emu in Rui’s trained picnic 3* (and the mechanical monkey is probably tsukasa), which don’t count

- the cat that represented Rui in wonder halloween does not count as a Rui cameo. It shows up a lot though. I think it just likes attention.

- The robots rui modified to look like tsukasa and emu in his on this holy night 3* don’t count. This would probably bring up the question of “does nenerobo count as a nene cameo?” To which I say no. that thing has a soul.

- other examples that don’t count (that more closely resemble the actual character): emu’s drawing of tsukasa in her untrained initial 3*, Rui’s balloon tsukasa in his trained SOAD 4*, the little wxs on a log meiko has in her trained this holy night card, the poster of what is probably tsukasa in nene’s untrained fragment sekai card.
