you let out a small laugh at the exchange. you wanted to add something but your chest tightened with anxiety, fearing that it would reveal how you truly felt. however, it slipped from your mouth before you could stop it, “i actually like it, i think it’s really cool that you know so much, akaashi-san. i admire it.”

bokuto, still bent with his arms on his legs immediately turned his head towards you with sharp eyes and brows raised, a teasing smile on his face

akaashi, on the other hand, had turned slightly red, his lips stuck between wanting to smile and trying to play off the compliment as if it hadn’t made his heart stop for a second

you’re cheeks had also warmed, realizing that if bokuto immediately got it through his thick skull (with love ♡) there was no way akaashi hadn’t

Summary: It is up above this for the basic rundown

The big halls of Hogwarts seemed more empty than usual as you walked down with Ron, Harry, Hermione, and Neville.

You all were talking about the new Herbology assignment. All of you meaning Hermione, Neville and you with Harry putting in a snide comment to you ever once in a while.

To any other person it might seem like he was in a bad mood or didn't want to do the assignment, but you knew it was something different.

"Y/N, what plant are you going to do your project on?" Hermione asked.

Harry decided to snicker and say, "He's probably just going to cheat off of you again."

You looked at him with a puzzled expression. You had never cheated off of Hermione, and she knew that well. You were a top student too after all.

This comment just made curiosity as well as a little anger spark in the bottom of your stomach. You wondered why he was acting like this.

You had known Harry since first year, and he admitted he was in love with you in your fifth year. Neither of you have told anybody yet, though. You pushed it off as just waiting for the right time, but now your not so sure.

"Harry, what are you talking about? He's never cheated off of me, and I know that because he doesn't need to." She cocked an eyebrow at him.

"He's just the type."

You decided you've had your fill of Harry's nonsense and tried to confront him. "What's your deal? I'm right here."

Harry just looked at you out of the corner of his eye with an evil, sinister smirk present on his face.

Neville apparently started to feel the awkward tension and stuttered his goodbye before going into the library, Hermione following. Ron made an excuse that he was heading to the cafeteria for more pumpkin juice made by the elves and split as well.

"Now it's only you and me, so you can tell me now." You opened a door into the abandoned boys bathrooms, ducked in, and locked the door.

You finally felt your patience give out, and you shot forward and pinned him to the back of the empty wall. It was kind of disgusting in that bathroom, but it would have to do.

He chuckled that ended in a small whine whenever you reached your hand down into his black pants and pulled his waistband to snap back onto the flushed skin.

At this time of day the prefects were out doing duties, so you had no doubt that nobody would come in.

He grumbled at the buttons that ended up flying off whenever you were doing your relentless heist to get his shirt off but stopped as soon as you bent down.

Here yet another latest look for Riya's "TRUE IMPREZA". 🔧🚘😁

• Last 2nd day of November this year, I decided to go once again at my current mall (SM City North Edsa), for another round meet up with my friend, Romulus907. And instead we've went to my usual arcade branch (Quantum Amusement), instead we've went to another direction, Denki Game Station at SM Annex North Edsa and played our current racing arcade (Wangan Maxi 5DXPlus).

• As I continued racing progress with her "TRUE IMPREZA" in Online Ghost VS Battle I encountered another Special G Armored Car once again as a 2nd time and it's no big deal to overtake / beat the same name (RICH) and the same course (Hiroshima Expressway) as from my previous ago. After beat up the Special G once again, her Shop Grade level gained 2. Unlocked new parts, browsing around items and I purchased the "Racing Stripe 2" with pink color, matching her personality and much like Spot used. 😉

Riya 🐰🏎️: Yes sir! That armored truck filled with G-coins is sure was a tough cookie, though... Hehe Nah, not really! 😅 But, I managed to beat it in a one-on-one VS Ghost battle! 😁 Also, I used to have "Racing Stripe 2" with pink color to matched my vehicle personality before it was removed when we transferred our data from "Wangan Maxi Tune 5DXPlus" to "Wangan Maxi Tune 6". *Sigh* Damn! I want that cool stripe included in the WMMT6, but we just have to earn more experience again by dishing out one or three ghosts in a VS Ghost battle! 😒 But hey, its alright. We just need to be strong and keep up, eh!? 😉💪 Anyways, I can’t wait to race it again, but I have some tasks that need to be finished. See ya! 👋😊

Week 2: Challenges, Solutions, and Growth Plans

For our second interview, we had the chance to interview again Mr. Mark Madello one of the staff in Remax Store located in SM Downtown. Our conversation was focused on the store’s challenges, how they’ve handled obstacles in the past, plans for expansion, and strategies to stay innovative in a competitive market. So their biggest challenge is competition and shifting customer preferences toward online shopping and also staying relevant in a crowded market is tough. Then for them to overcome this challenges they've focused on excellent customer service, updating products, and digital marketing to maintain customer loyalty and attract new shoppers. In terms of expansion, remax is considering opening a new branch in another mall but they did not specify where it is. And about being innovative and competitive what they do is to keep track in market trends and listening to customer feedback while investing in staff training to offer top-notch service.

In the second store which is the Better Components Inc. we ask for deeper questions like what challenges they faced and how they overcome it, then if they have plans for expansion and strategies they make to stay innovative in a competitive market. Mr. Cago shared that their store faces challenges like supply chain disruptions and competition with online audio retailers are their biggest challenges and for them to overcome it they’ve built solid supplier relationships to ensure product availability and have focused on in-store promotions and personalized audio demos to compete with online stores. In expanding their business he said that they have plans but it's not sure. And for the last question he answered that they stay competitive by offering the latest audio technology and providing hands-on speaker demos and expert advice, which online competitors can’t match.

In the third store the camera haus we asked their staff about challenges they've faced so he answered that the biggest challenge for Camerahaus is keeping up with rapid technological changes in cameras and photography gear, as well as dealing with increased competition from online retailers then they overcome it by focusing on customer service and offering expert advice that online stores can’t provide. They’ve also kept their inventory up-to-date with the latest camera models and accessories, attracting tech-savvy customers. For future plans they are planning to expand their business in another place. And for them to stay innovative and competitive they offer hands-on product demonstrations and running photography workshops for enthusiasts. They also stay ahead by consistently updating their product lineup with the latest photography equipment.

Fourth store is Bagel Girl so we ask about what challenges they've faced how they overcome it then we ask if they have future plans on expanding their business and then on how they stay innovative and competitive in the market. So according to their staff the intense competition from both local boutiques and online retailers poses a significant challenge. Then she added, keeping up with fast-changing fashion trends can be difficult. For them to overcome this challenges bagel girl choses unique product selection and personalized customer service. They also leverage social media to engage with customers and showcase new arrivals, making them feel part of a fashion community. Their future plans is to expand their business online to gain more customers not only in their store in SM Downtown but also online. And The store stays competitive by regularly updating their inventory with the latest fashion accessories and hosting in-store events to create a vibrant shopping experience. They also prioritize customer feedback to tailor their offerings to what their customers want.

The last store is Our Home, we interview again their Manager. So according to her the challenge that their facing is sales, they overcome it by through social media then promotions. Then our home is not planning on expanding their store. And for them to stay innovative and competitive they are delivering new items and new design for them to have an up to date products. Then we ask if the store is part of SM Holding and she said yes it is part of SM and it is under it.

i'm reallyyy pleased to hear kymans are more collaborative and friendly now, that's wonderful! things were really so divided in 2018, for good reason, but it's nice to hear there's less of that, and less reason to be divided in the first place. i didn't like the rift in the fandom, but i wasn't comfortable interacting with half the people, so it was tough.

also i'm feeling rather smug that there's a fair amount of jewish kymans now - i'm jewish and i got told multiple times by antis that i was betraying my people, that i was secretly self-loathing, that shipping kyman meant i had internalized antisemitism. largely by gentiles, btw. i absolutely understand jewish fans being uncomfortable with cartman as a character, but i'm super pleased more and more of us are enjoying him. i imagine that picked up because of the post covid specials? i never actually watched them (only eps of sp i haven't seen haha) but cartman converting to judaism has been a hc of mine for years so i was delighted when i heard it became canon. although typically i hc he converts for kyle because i think thats High Romance.

it's kinda funny history repeats sm bc both skinny cartman discourse + antis attacking have been staples of the Kyman Experience for as long as i can remember. i've been in this damn fandom since 2013 and i remember people arguing about that shit on fuckin deviantart.

The SM and HYBE drama (and the main third player)

okay so i know this news has been really shocking to all of us. sm is a part of the big 3 in kpop and hybe, right now, is the most profitable company in kpop. both are massive forces in terms of business in music. and it’s now been revealed that hybe had acquires around 14% stakes from lee sooman, making them the biggest stake-holder of sm. this news was really sudden to me and a lot of us, so i decided to do some research. turns out, there’s a lot more going on here. and i mean, a LOT.

a company like hybe in the IT hub of the world (which is south korea btw) is...honestly? nothing. unlike the other big three, hybe’s business is mostly confined to kpop. our concerns about hybe begins and ends about here. now, for sm.

sm is, quite honestly, the MOST influential kpop company, mainly because of the influence it hold outside of kpop. sm, like yg and jyp, is not just restricted to kpop. their “artist-holdings” stretches to sportspersons, actors, comedians, general artists management, etc. infact, sm manages almost 25% of the artists in the korean entertainment industry. 

the second person of conflict; lee sooman.

now unlike yg, jyp and originally, bighit, lee sooman does not have complete control over sm. he quit the position of the ceo in 2010. since then, lee sooman made some big announcements about sm’s suture and what he aims to do with the shares he owns. sm also underwent a tax investigation recently. all in all, there’s been a lot on lee sooman’s plate. he DID want to sell those shares anyway, although i don’t think think he thought the opportunity would appear in this way.

despite being popularly known as the ‘godfather of kpop’, lee sooman has been involved in a power struggle of sorts with his executive board as of 2023. he refused to pass down the shares of the company to his children and has been involved in a business conflict with his nephew, who is one of the current CEOs. lee sooman owns over 18% of the stakes in sm, making him the controlling shareholder (the largest percentage).

now, as the executive board of sm announced them evolving into sm 3.0, they are letting out liquid stakes and shares in the market. and they did this WITHOUT consulting lee sooman. if this happens, he will lose the reigning control over sm. 

so this guy flies over with a broken arm, immediately goes to a hospital (i’m telling you, this whole thing is crazy) and SUES his OWN goddamn COMPANY, which HE founded, for this move, which he claims is illegal.

the third player: kakao group. this is where it all comes together.

so, remember kakao talk? that cute little messaging app? yeah, that’s korea’s biggest messenger app and is used by 90% of the population. kakao is the no.1 competitor of naver in japan. i don’t know anything about the business world at all but i do know that kakao is one of the biggest conglomerates (#15) in korea and the BIGGEST conglomerate that is not involved in the manufacture sphere. they are huge. they are a tech-based internet company formally established in freakin 2010 after the merging of DAUM and the KAKAO INC. it has 128 affliates under it. being a conglomerate means that it essentially is composed of multiple independent business holdings. as of august, 2021, it is a bank, a payment service, a game company, an entertainment company, a fashion unit and of course, a mobility platform.

now, incase you didn’t hear of it, ive was involved in a fraud scam recently. that is because their company starship’s largest shareholder, was accused of sabotaging other rival kpop groups by mass circulating negative articles and rumors. these articles were directed at groups like le sserafim, new jeans, stayc, itzy, etc. they were also accused of rigging music stages and award shows. and guess who this shareholder was? kakao group.

so two things: 1. kakao is a group which has been expanding its monstrous presence in the kpop scene for some time now and also happens to have a great deal of authority on circulatory media. 2. sm suddenly has a lot of stakes to sell. what happens next?

since kakao had been targeting the smaller companies of kpop so far, the big 3 + hybe had not been particularly bothered by this. kakao still does not have a very strong presence in kpop and entertainment is a competitive field, largely based on luck. however, if kakao does start acquiring the shares of the bigger company, it’s going to create a big problem. and guess what happened?

kakao declared that its going to take over the shares on march the 6th. now the exact percentage seems to be unclear but i’m pretty sure general consensus says its over 10%. 

if kakao did go through with this, it’s going to threaten the level of competition and the heirarchy of kpop. ik this doesn’t necessarily sound bad; i mean, who doesn’t love the fall of the monopoly capitalism. but NO, it’s the exact opposite. kakao has a lot more power than any of the kpop companies. it can manipulate media. if it does end up becoming the controlling shareholder of the biggest kpop company, and considering the fact it’s a tech company, it might shake the very foundations of kpop. the overruling monopoly in kpop will be officially established. imagine amazon and elon musk-esque craziness ensuing.

this is why lee sooman turned to bang sihyuk. it is why hybe bought 14.8% of his shares and became the largest shareholder. funnily enough, hybe is actually “trying to protect” sm from being sold out to kakao. and believe me, kakao CAN and WILL do all of the above if given the chance. 

this is not to say that this drama has ended. since sm’s executive boards not only control the music sector but the other fields too, and because they have a personal agenda against lee sooman, they are expressing their displeasure over hybe acquiring the stakes. and no, hybe does not “own” sm. it will have the largest say in executive matters overall but it will not OWN sm. in order to fully acquire sm, hybe needs to over over 51% of the shares, which, you know what? who knows what might happen in the future. the story has just begun. the next stage is to wait for march 6th.
