OK SMG4 RANT TIME-

I wanna talk about the thing from the ‘ITS GOTTA BE PERFECT’ movie

Specifically SMG4s reaction when SMG3 said that their friends. I feel like it struck a nerve because back in The Youtube Arc, SMG3 and 4 became “friends”

But this is nothing but a lie at first, just to not let SMG4 worry or even notice him while 3 plans something

Sure, 4 didnt hear this but 3s actions mostly already showed what he meant.

This is the same arc where SMG3 gets a power high from the channel, going a bit mad with power

While in ‘ITS GOTTA BE PERFECT’ SMG4 goes through an existential crisis, thinking all his hard work will burn to the ground if he isnt good enough, going insane from it, insane because of the channel

But why do i bring this up?

Because in both the arc and the movie, they also mention their relationship (as friends… for now- /j)

SMG3 lied to him at first, manipulated 4 to think SMG3 would be cool

But in the movie

He means it

Their actually friends

so like. Heaven’s a thing. And hell’s a thing. Jesus and god are a thing. Satan’s a thing, there might be multiple of them, and one of them’s papa John. Then there’s sunset Paradise, which I’m not sure how it connects to the main smg4 world but apparently it DOES, and that has the fuckin PHEONIX

The fact that the only thing I remembered from watching SMG4 when I was like 7 yrs old, was that one scene where Mario yeets Peach of into the water shows how much I have a lot of lore to catch up after 12 years.

"I don't want Puzzles redeemed because he did bad things" are you aware that only characters that did bad things can be redeemed?

like are you aware of the concept of redeeming a character? Which more than not comes from the evil, the ANTAGONIST side? which means that it's really only villains (and characters affected by villains) that can be redeemed, right? Like, are you aware?

Your precious SMG3 also stalked 4 before, actually 2 times I can recall for you. He actually tried to kill him more than once but you're turning your head, closing your eyes, ignoring it, not acknowledging his past. Not acknowledging the bad things he did out of envy and hatred and loneliness, something that Puzzles is absolutely also driven by, which you could absolutely see by the ending, that was absolutely a betrayal for him, he's absolutely controlled by his emotions in this regard

he's so similar to SMG3 it hurts

like 3 only really got to redeem himself because 4 needed him to save the world because they had to hold hands for powers

like. think about it with me for a second. imagine a world where 3 wasn't needed for 4 like that, if he could have just been powerful by himself. It could have been just 1 and 2 training him, 3 wouldn't have been needed at all

he could be very much written out and there you go, no more SMG3 redemption

it really just could have been SMG4 learning the power of memes instead. Internet graveyard could've gone fully forgotten, with 3 fully presumed, maybe even confirmed dead

so like, don't come at Puzzles like he's the devil itself if you don't want to lend the same thing for 3

I hate to put this in the main tag, but GUYS. STOP FUCKING GATEKEEPING CHARACTERS. It is NOT illegal for someone to ship a character like SMG3 with someone else, or any character for that matter! Unless it’s a proship and just a person having fun, leave them fucking be or I swear to god. There’s more to life than trashing people with fiction, and if you don’t like it, don’t look. We’re all here to collectively enjoy SMG4, not fight over ships that aren’t even illegal 😭 I’m sorry but there’s been too much fighting here. I love smg34, but I fucking hate pointless discourse. Let’s let people have fun with characters and ocs.

imma be real with y'all, I don't understand why so many people are angry over the new episode 🧍

I don't really do posts talking about the new episodes but this one has me baffled

Some people are saying characters are being out of character, others are saying they backed themselves into a corner so they pulled the "it was all an act" card, and some are saying Meggy forgives Puzzles?

I didn't get any of that from this episode. The characters were acting like they always do, Meggy very clearly doesn't forgive Puzzles, she just realises that there can be good in him and that card being pulled definitely isn't the case, for me at least.

My theory is that Smg4 is gonna be the major villain for WOTFI 2024. My biggest giveaway for this is when Puzzles says "Who knew you could be such a great antagonist Smg4". The way he says "I can't imagine what he did to you" when talking to Meggy just makes me raise an eyebrow. Another thing, we never see Smg3, Luigi and Bob leave the Meme Factory. There was definitely time between then and the new episode where something happened, potentially brainwashing. The way Mr Puzzles reacted to Smg4 also gives it away to me.

Another thing, there was clearly no brainwashing involved with Leggy and Mr Puzzles, she was doing things on her own accord, so why bring up "brainwashing"? My guess is that Smg4 took advantage of Meggy not remembering anything that happened as a way to paint Mr Puzzles as being far worse while getting her to ignore what he did. 4 turned Meggy into Leggy, he was the one to not do anything while Luigi, Bob and 3 got taken away, he was the one to act forceful with Mario.

Also, uh this entire thing is a series of mini arcs building up to something big. This mini arc wasn't something to be taken as "complete", this mini arc was ment to be taken as "Something big is coming." You know it's important when it's a premiere. This episode isn't meant to cap off things, it meant to show more, bigger things are coming.

But with that all said, I don't understand why y'all are so angry and why it's being taken so seriously in a series all about not being serious 24/7- this may get me flamed but fuck it, I'm just saying what I think

So.. apparently, people are shiping Vox with Puzzles cause their TV heads and people are making head canons of 'em.

But! I kinda wanna see these two twinks interacting with each other or a fanart of them on a date or somethin', I mean CMON!! They have a chance to be a good couple! 🎲📺💓 they both are from similar time periods, are fruity as f##k, they both perform on stage!!, and I can see Dice performing his game show and Puzzles finds that as his inspriation to make "Mr, Puzzles's game show spectacular" plus they seemed to hate kids or people who don't play by their rules like how Mario annoyed the crap out of Puzzles much like how Cuphead annoyed the frick out of Dice and they could rant on and on and they could relate to each other!!!! Dice could be a sort of assistant of Puzzles or works beside and they both get along as time goes on. I ship these guys soo badly so might make a fanart of them if ya'll are interested. Srry this is a bit different but wanted to get this off my chest for a while.. hope you enjoyed my rant I guess.

this entire scene was sad.. definitely fic material. but! despite the feels really hitting me in the gut (i hate the team for that fuck you) (not actually), it’s an awesome episode overall

loved that it put more of the spotlight on 3 and how he feels about his reputation and what the audience thinks of him, constantly being in the shadow because the truth is.. when he was first made, he really was just a clone. nothing more, and sometimes a lot less

they’re both so mentally ill and it shows. 4 has issues with knowing when to stop working, igbp ofc ofc.. and then 3 feels like he is in 4’s shadow. and that’s only to name one of their issues for each!!

ugh, they have so many issues. i hate these mentally ill gays :/ (not serious i love them)

Mr. Puzzles hasn't even kill anyone yet! all he did was traumatized the crew with his actions (not even he had cause any canon scars, the scars SMG4 and Meggy are portrayed by fans, they in canon not have scars) and sink a castle! what Mr. Puzzles did i am so sorry but is less horrible than for example FRANCIS or ZERO did, with even more plot and the fact they TOOK LIVES of Desti and Axol

Yes, I do believe in a Redemption for MR. Puzzles [Rant]

This is a rant and opinion though, so don't take it too seriously. PV was evil yes, he tried to kill them, yes. I can't deny he was evil. But his story lines up a bit TOO well with 3's Both craved attention from the beginning/ were ignored/ was an outcast of some sort with an especial lack of friends. Then copied a show/movie, a thing they saw as a way to entertain the masses normally at the time. They are then opposed for this and outshined in a climatic battle which includes them using some sort of magic that gives them control. (The remote vs the ratings and PV's own remote) They both ALMOST kill someone, successfully landing a hit on any given crew member WITHOUT killing them (PV shot Luigi, turning him into Luigi the Meat Mallet, SMG3 shoots Meggy, causing her to sing). it having a different effect. When they are finally defeated, they are banished to a far away area. So if 3 got a redemption...why can't Mr. Puzzles? Bonus: They both had a cast they did not treat fairly. (The Anti-Crew for SMG3) Mr. Puzzles is a redeemable character, you just have to give him friends. Think about it. During IGBP the only reason 4 didn't continue with the perfect video while spiraling is because SMG3, his friend, helped him with emotionally driven words. Same with Meggy, she would have lost it if not for Tari, her friend, calming her down. The problem here, is Mr. Puzzles, as mentioned in his song ("Our scene opens on a little Mr. Puzzles! Now cut to him having no friends. It was a struggle to find anybody who could be my buddy!") Had no friends, hence him constantly referring to the cast as "My friends" and having his ego (as seen in the "You handsome devil you." scene.) His ego is derived from having no one to compliment him (at least most likely) Because 'If no one will tell me I did well, then why not do it myself?' is a mindset some people have. On the contrary this means there's no one to tell him what he is doing is wrong, I mean seriously you can't convince me if he DID have friends they would have just let him cut his head off, or at least have noticed his unhealthy behavior. So for 4 to literally Home Run slam this Twink of a TV into next Sunday was kinda out of character and mean IMO?? I mean after IGBP and understanding a wish for perfection for an audience? Anyways thanks for reading my rant (if you did.) This is my tired little hyperfixated brain talking, I'll go back to drawing.

i love the direction they're taking him! i want him goofy and silly but also serious when he wants to be! love to see all the other people's opinions, by the way! But still, I think Mr. Puzzles being goofy fits the meme show. Just one wish...

why didn't they make smg4 more insane at the end? the beginning was perfect but the second time he showed up was lacking. :( make him INSANE

Im not much of a theorist so i can't really add much but I did notice something, maybe I'm reading into the it too much...

the theory was about SMG3's "villain self" vs "real self" but im thinking of it in this scene more like "not really him" vs "real self"

so...

If we're going by Shay's logic then this is his "half self" which means... he's still not being completely honest with smg4 and mario :(

Im not usually a storytime person but this one came from the back of my head so ✨️STORYTIME✨️

Quick note: i SUCKED at realizing plots and characteristics of stories and/or characters (still do...) also i suck at wording things!

Back in 2019 when i had first discovered SMG4 i would just go around and watch random episodes from random times (i didnt belive in starting from the beggining) so the more i would watch the more i thought to myself "damn. There is NO way smg3 and smg4 WEREN'T exes". (I didn't know enemies to lovers was a thing ok...)

I'm not kidding when I say that I GENUINELY belived that 3 and 4 were exes because hear me out. The way i saw it was that 3 and 4 were once together but after 3 got jealous of 4 and plagiarized his videos they broke up. Which to me, explained why they would sometimes have that weirdly romantic tension and constantly showed off to try to be better than eachother. Y'all cant imagine how amazed i was when i discovered snowtrapped... i fr thought my point was proved. (till youtube arc came out) After youtube arc happend i slowly put two and two together and realized they were just enemies. I still remained an smg34 shipper and was so happy when i discovered that I wasn't the only one. :)

Its late at night and idk if anything i just said made sense but PLEASE KNOW IM KINDA SLOW AND I DONT PAY ATTENTION TO STORYLINES OR PLOT. 😭🙏
