Presenting one of my favorite Stardew Valley mods that SebbyIsAVampire and I recently made: Immersive Bachelor Phone Calls!

In this mod, bachelors will call you on the vanilla telephone after every heart event to chat and reminisce.

Now, you can finally have a reason to own a telephone in Stardew Valley!

I’m so done with Mr. Qi’s bullshit at this point. Four currencies across three different locations, and the crippling weight of perfection looming over me at all times? I don’t think so. I’ve resorted to using SMAPI Terminal commands and the CJB Cheats Menu to give me shit. I’m not roughing it no more. modders if anyone is listening, what this world really needs is a mod where you can room with krobus AND have a spouse. poor lil guy melts my cold dead heart but i simp for elliot too much to let him move in w/me. sometimes a family is a farmer, their husbando/waifu, and the little shadow critter that eats all the bugs in their house and i wish more people would realize this 😔 🖤

Stardew Valley Basic Mods Guide

I’ve been playing a lot of stardew valley because 1.6 is dropping soon and I’ve never done a Joja run before, wanted to see it before there were any potential changes. Anyways since I’ve been playing modded and while looking for new mods I realized it’s kinda overwhelming to find ones I like, so here’s some I recommend.

First off How To Mod Stardew Valley its much easier than it sounds. Every mod requires SMAPI or Stardew Moding API, Follow that link or go to nexus mods and search SMAPI then do manual download, slow download, then unzip the zip folder into your stardew mods folder (i recommend pining this to quick access), then follow the instructions in the installer and your all set, just add any mods to that mod folder, unziped, and your all set. Trouble shooting Guide on the stardew wiki or linked in the description on the nexus page.

Note, there are other ways to download mods that aren't through nexus, but nexus is the most simple in my opinion and has the most mods on it.

UI info suit, if you’re watched any modded playthrough you’ve seen this one. It adds icons under the mini calendar on the top right showing your daily luck, if the traveling merchant is there, if it’s someone’s birthday, if Queen Of Sauce is on, how long machines or crops take to finish, and so many other things you can check out on the nexus page

To-Dew, the name explains it pretty well, it is a to-do list that you can add things to and they show up in the top left corner. These can be daily, seasonal, a certain day of the week, certain week of the season, one day of the season, raining/not raining on farm/island, you can add headings if you have a lot on the list. It is one of the most useful mods I've found.

Convenient Inventory, sorts items from your inventory to nearby chests, you can also favorite items so they are not sorted out of your inventory

Generic Mod Config Menu, This mod allows you to change settings on almost any mod added while in the game from the bottom of the game settings page.

Visible Fish, Another super popular mod for almost any playthrough you could find, adds catchable fish to waters and optionally trash.

Dynamic reflections, Adds reflections to the water, puddles after rainy days, stars in the water at night

See NPC Map locations, Just what it sounds like, shows NPC locations on the map

Stardew Notification, adds more notifications for machines, cave harvests, morning silo report, next day weather, birthdays and more

Seasonal Outfits

Dynamic night times, adds transition skylines between day and night

Part of the Community, when you talk to or gift villagers if others are near they also gain friendship

Skillful clothes, Adds skill increase to clothes based on what they are, ex farmers pants +1 farming, sailor top +1 fishing

Cat Gifts, your cat will occasionally leave gifts for you

Happy Birthday, Adds your birthday to the game, on your birthday villagers will gift you when talked to

I have over 100 mods downloaded so there's more I can talk about but these are my favorites and don't change the game too much.

Presenting my Vampire Sebastian Sprites + Portrait mod!

I modeled his spiky hair after the original Sebastian design made by ConcernedApe.

My teammate SebbyIsAVampire is currently working on a Vampire Sebastian mod--which is a total overhaul of his character. It comes with new dialogue and custom heart events. So, stay tuned!

These sprites and portraits will be included with her mod when it's ready to upload.

I updated Stardew Valley to 1.6 and decided to just delete all my mods and start fresh since I was running soooo many mods and most of them were old and not compatible with 1.6.

So I deleted all my mods from my mod folder AND deleted them on Vortex, and then I only downloaded mods that should be compatible with 1.6.

And now my game won't even start and my SMAPI log is a mess and I can't figure out what I did because I only know enough about mods to be dangerous I guess.

Does anyone have any suggestions I could try? I can send my SMAPI log if needed.

Stardew valley modding is an emotional rollercoaster. One moment everything works perfectly, and then your character just walks off-screen into the void.

Because my primary laptop is a MacBook running Linux, I have the Control and Super key switched, so I can maintain that sweet-sweet macOS Command key functionality. (Having the Super key act like it does on Windows is garbage. Fight me. I don't need an entire key to bring up a menu. I need a third modifier key.)

However, because I have a Mac's keyboard that behaves as a Mac's keyboard too, I often forget that, when I'm hitting CMD+C, the computer is actually receiving CTRL+C. So, unlike in macOS, when I'm using Linux I cannot use my keyboard to copy and paste in the terminal.

But that hasn't stopped me from trying, so many times have I tried using the SMAPI terminal line to add items to my SDV Farmer's inventory, only to hit "CMD"+C on the item ID, killing the entire process, closing the game, and deleting an entire day's worth of unsaved data.

I really wish there was a way to make Linux behave like macOS, in regards to the keyboard...

Can’t play the new update of Stardew Valley with my mods for some fucking reason, spent I don’t know how long trying to figure out what I did wrong. I had forgotten to add content patcher so I’ll try that out and if that doesn’t work I guess I’ll just play on my new save on my steam deck until I can get my mods to work. Anyone else have this problem? Never went through this when update 1.5 came out.
