Sneak peek as a treat!
“Doesn’t it bother you to see everyone put their hands on your sister like that?” Harry asked.
Before Bill could answer, Ginny had made it up to them. She eyed him for a moment. “What’s a guest doing here?”
“I carried two watermelons!” he announced, and then immediately thought that sounded incredibly lame.
She looked him up and down with another scrutinising look. Her deep brown eyes locked with his. “Then I suppose you’re dancing now.”
Harry looked at Bill alarmed, but her brother offered him no way out. He turned back to her. “I don’t dance.”
“Don’t be silly,” she chuckled. Her small hand firmly grasped his. “Everyone dances. We are dancing. Just follow my lead. She walked backwards, pulling him onto the dance floor.
Before he knew it, she turned to him and pulled him close. Her waist was far too close to his. He was forced to follow somewhat or they’d be too close for comfort, but she seemed to trust he’d follow. She led his hand to her waist. Her midriff was showing and his hand landed on her skin. It felt hot under his touch. It did help in following along with the moves she was doing.
“We need to loosen up those hips a little,” she commented cheerily and then her hand was on his hip, guiding it gently. “Look into my eyes.”
“I can’t,” he told her. “I can’t follow if I can’t see.”
Her small hand was under his chin, tilting his head up. She stepped in closer. He could basically feel the heat radiating off her body. She moved his hand again so his arm was supporting her back.
“Don’t drop me,” she said, then she let her head drop back and her upper body circled. She met eyes with him again, smiling brightly.
He shook his head. “You can’t just put your trust in me like that.”
And then she did it again. He pulled her back in as her torso came toward him again.
“You’re a fast learner,” she commented.
His eyes widened. “It’s fuelled by fear.”
She pulled her arms around his neck. “I love seeing a man’s fear in his eyes,” she teased and then laughed. “I am joking.”

Hitman
THE DEMON ANNUAL #2 1993 BY GARTH ENNIS, JOHN MCCREA AND GENE D’ANGELO
SYNOPSIS (FROM DC FANDOM)
Jason Blood contacts Etrigan to inquire about the source of vampiric parasites that are responsible for recent killings. Etrigan prophesies the coming of Hitman and assures Jason that Hell is not responsible. Meanwhile, in Gotham City, Tommy Monaghan is aiming a sniper rifle at Robert Dubelz, the patriarch of the Dubelz Crime Family across the street when Glonth bursts through the target's doorway and drain's the man's spinal cord fluid, killing him. Glonth tracks Tommy's laser sight back to Tommy and attacks him.
At the nest of the Bloodlines Parasites, Lissik is about to feed an infant parasite the remains of Slodd, when Pritor stops him and asks about Glonth's whereabouts. Glonth is on a Gotham City rooftop, feeding on Tommy Monaghan. Below, the members of the Dubelz family are investigating the death of their patriarch. They receive word that Tommy Monaghan was attacked in a similar manner but is still alive. Tommy is recovering in a hospital bed, and discovers that he has acquired x-ray vision and telepathy. Glonth has by now gone in search of more victims, and he runs into Jason Blood. Jason transforms into Etrigan and battles Glonth through the streets of Gotham, eventually managing to send him crashing into the Gotham sewers. While this is happening, Tommy has escaped from the hospital and arms himself in the apartment of his friend Pat Noonan.
At Robert Dubelz' wake, Moe and Joe Dubelz learn that it was a Bloodline Parasite that killed their father, and that Tommy Monaghan was hired by a rival crime family to murder Robert Dubelz. Etrigan persuades Jason Blood to attend Robert Dubelz' wake, prophesying that Hitman will go on a killing spree. Tommy, in Noonan's bar is able to read another customer's mind and discover that the man had been hired to kill him. Tommy kills the man and his associate and heads for the Dubelz mansion. Tommy scouts the area outside the mansion and discovers that Jason Blood is there as well. Glonth is also outside the wake, and despite a warning from Gemir, he decides to slake his hunger on Moe and Joe Dubelz' double spine. As Glonth begins his attack, so does Hitman. Both kill several members of the Dubelz family and their staff and guests. Jason Blood transforms into Etrigan to battle Glonth alongside Hitman. The fight becomes four-sided, involving Glonth, Etrigan, Hitman, and the Dubelz family. Chumpp and Joe Dubelz are killed by Hitman. A cooperative assault involving hellfire and explosives on Glonth's stomach is enough to drive the parasite off. Etrigan transforms into Jason Blood, and Jason and Hitman part ways.
REVIEW
As origin stories go... the ones from the Bloodlines event suffered a lot (as there is not enough room for them to be that different, if the trigger in all their stories is the same). In theory, these characters should have worked better as “Blood Pack”. But we know what happened, only one of the bunch really stood out, and it was Hitman.
Even with the whole issue feeling like a back-door pilot for his own series (that wouldn’t happen until 1996), I feel it suffers a lot from being a tie-in to Bloodlines. Perhaps it would have felt better if Bloodlines was a better story. Instead, it’s one of those events that you may have never read, and nothing would have really changed for you. It was an uneventful event.
The story here is funny, dark, and pretty violent. Not a problem for the title, as The Demon was not coming out with the comic code seal (Neither did Bloodbath, the book that book-ended the event).
The art is a bit rough to see. Let’s say that McCrea is an acquired taste. And I have seen his art in other books before, and I was never a fan (Legends of the Dark Knight comes to mind). His style, however, is very identifiable.
I give the issue a score of 8

Session: 5/16/18
The party faced an avatar of Entropy along with several powerful slodd. To deal with this, Bryndi called Yelron and Njal also joined the fray. Ultimately the party was successful! However, the avatar of Entropy totally erased Vassa, and threatened to erase Callemshan. However, in the aftermath discussion, several things were brought to light.
First, Yelron informed the party that Zelnoa Rageleaf has an alliance with the fae queens of Dawn and Day, and she may be trying to unite the material plane with the faewyld as a method of saving it from Entropy. We did find out that Rageleaf was not aware of Day and Dawn’s plan to try and kidnap Ori on the day of her wedding.
From Njal, we learned that Carolous was at Dain’s mountain/kingdom and wanted to bring it under his rule, and that Njal’s party was in the middle of that negotiation.
The party also met a shadar kan named Elam, who seems to be something very much like an Eladrin, but from the shadowfel. The shadar kan are serving Shar and are able to protect her holdings the same way an Eladrin inside a mythal can.

Slut:Etymological
c. 1400, "a dirty, slovenly, or untidy woman," according to OED "Of doubtful origin," but probably cognate with dialectal German Schlutt "slovenly woman," dialectal Swedish slata "idle woman, slut," and Dutch slodde "slut," slodder "a careless man," but the exact relationship of all these is obscure. Chaucer uses sluttish (late 14c.) in reference to the appearance of an untidy man. Also "a kitchen maid, a drudge" (mid-15c.; hard pieces in a bread loaf from imperfect kneading were called slut's pennies, 18c.).

Art Adam’s designs for the parasite aliens
Sadly, I don’t think any of the aliens looked as good as they did when Art Adam’s originally designed them. Here is a link to those original designs.

Layla- She will kick your butt (amongst other body parts)!
I already brought up my fave New Blood, Chimera a while back. My second favorite female spawned from the series was Layla.
A succinct description of Layla was said by her Bloodlines trading card.
"Layla was one of the most promising operatives L.E.G.I.O.N. ever had, and to test her competence, Vril Dox put her in command of a search team sent to explore an extradimensional alien vessel. Accompanied by Lobo, the team encountered seven vicious and predatory parasites, who tore them apart. Only Lobo and Layla survived the attacks, and Layla found herself changed - hardened - into one tough customer. Look out, Lobo - there's a "main woman" in town."
Even before her powers arose Layla was already a badass as seen above, kneeing Lobo without a second thought. She's also rather resourceful.
And so Slodd's bite causes her trauma, activating her latent metagene putting her strength class in a Kryptonian, or even Czarnian level I suppose.
Alas despite being a L.E.G.I.O.N officer she never showed up in the recent R.E.B.E.L.S run but she did appear in the run that lasted until 96, appearing in a few issues, though I'm not sure to what extent.
I liked that Layla filled the need for a badass female akin to Lobo, just a shame DC never really followed up on that idea.

Another The Silver Lining of Dirty Dancing sneak peek because I cannot stop thinking about this fic
An hour later he had settled down with a cocktail on the terrace when Ginny walked up to him. “Are you sure?”
He set down his cocktail. “Quite.” He eyed her clipboard. “What’s the current activity?”
“I think your schedule is full, mister,” she retorted with a playful frown. “It’s a Madonna lookalike contest. Do you want to join?”
“I think it’s better for everyone if I do not,” he told her with a grin.
She chuckled. “I mean if it’s your lifelong ambition to do so, I don’t want to be the one standing between you and your dreams.” She bit back her smile.
“I think I’m good,” he told her.
Ginny nodded. “Splendid. I’ll see you around!”
Harry watched as she walked to the next table and made small talk with them with bright smiles and an easygoing attitude. She suddenly looked up towards him and he quickly lifted the cocktail, forgetting it had a straw. It thunked against his glasses and a bit went over the rim of the glass and onto his shirt.
He set it down, swearing under his breath.
“Napkin?”
He looked up to see Ginny holding out a clean napkin for him.
“How did you get here so fast?” he asked, taking the napkin from her. “Thanks.”
“Guest satisfaction is incredibly important to me,” she replied, watching as he attempted to wipe the cocktail off.
He snorted. “Of course.” He looked up at her. “Satisfied, thanks.”
She held his gaze for a moment longer. Then she turned around and walked off inside. As he watched her go, he forgot all about the stain on the front of his shirt.

The Silver Lining of Dirty Dancing
Harry did not have many plans for the summer, and his plans for college next year were considerably lacking. He had always wanted to help people, but following that dream had led him to be pushed firmly into reality. Now he no longer knew how he wanted to help people. Putting his future out of his mind for a bit, he decided to join his parents at the Kellerman’s resort. A Hinny version of the iconic 1987 movie ‘Dirty Dancing’
Chapter Four (full chapter on AO3)
“Ready? I’ll push off and you just lift me up.”
Before he could ask, she pushed off hard from the lake bed. He had hardly grasped her hips and his arms collapsed under him. She yelped and clung to him as he tumbled backwards into the water. He kept a tight hold of her to make sure she didn’t go under. She laughed, pushing off him.
“I wasn’t ready.”
She squeezed her hair, draining the water from it. “You think?”
He laughed and took his position again. “Let’s try it again.” He grasped her hips more tightly, ignoring how the wet shirt clung to her body.
“Okay.”

Happy Birthday and wishing you many more, hope you have a good one.
Sneak peak….Dirty Dancing 😏
Thank you!!
I haven't actually written more than an actual outline so this scene is so fresh I still have to type it as I write this sentence!
The Silver Lining of Dirty Dancing
As they walked into the building, Bill walked off with his three watermelons and then came back and took Harry's two off his hands. Music streamed out as the door in front of him opened.
"Do you dance?" Bill reappeared next to him.
Harry shook his head, remembering the dancing couple earlier. "Not really..."
Bill chuckled and nudged him to come along. They walked in, and the loud music washed over him. He looked at all the people, more scantily clothed than the guests, and dancing without a care in the world. It looked heated and passionate.
The whole room seemed to pause and everyone moved aside. The elegant dancing couple walked in and took a spot in the middle of the dance floor. Harry watched as they started dancing again, close together, hips shifting together. The man's hand swept down her back.
"You'd think they're a couple, hm?" Bill noted.
Harry had forgotten for a moment Bill was still there and looked at him warily. "Aren't they?"
Bill smiled. "No. Dean grew up on the same street as us."
"Us?" His eyebrows rose. "That's your sister?"
I am posting birthday sneak peeks!

Chapter Seven
(full chapter on AO3)
Harry sat down with his parents in the crowd for the final show. Neil watched him as he passed by but Harry paid no mind to it.
“Will you tell us already what’s going on?” Lily said. “You’re not doing anything bad, are you?”
He shook his head. “Mum, have a little faith in me, and in Ginny especially.”
“But we will need to leave right after?” James asked.
He looked at his dad. “They’ll find out Ginny is still here, so… I think they will want us to go. Ginny and I at least.”

Chapter One (full chapter on AO3)
The moment he took a step towards the entrance, the music stopped and then a rousing tune started and he froze as the crowd in the middle of the floor parted.
Dean guided his dance partner, the one from before, to the middle of the dance floor. She gazed into Dean’s eyes as they struck a pose and then she smirked. A moment later they were smoothly dancing across the floor, the tassels from her dress swinging around as she moved. Dean was quick to twirl her around and pull her back in. They moved in unison with amazing ease. Their feet moved so quickly, that it looked like second nature. Harry thought they looked amazing together. Dean’s hand was firm but gentle in guiding her across the dance floor. Her hips moved easily to the beat and she smiled like all of this cost her no effort at all. Harry was in awe of their skill and chemistry.

She took a deep breath and then she looked at him. “Was your first time special?”
He blinked, surprised she asked. “I hope it will be.”
“I’ll hold out hope,” Ginny said. She turned to face the studio again.
He nodded. “We’re not all bad, you know. Us, men.”
Suddenly there was a scrutinising look from her. “Please, Harry. You can’t even find a belly button and you’re the son of a doctor. There is no hope for the rest of them.” She grabbed her water and took a sip.
“I just needed the visual,” he said. “I’ve got good eyes.”
She snorted and turned to him. “Baby, you wear glasses.”

Harry caught up with him. “Neil.”
“What?”
He breathed out. He wanted to get this right. “I know you may have been shocked by this, especially if you don’t know any gay men personally, but Dean has done nothing wrong. He is hardworking and even though he should not have to, he has been keeping that part of him private. I’m sure only a few employees know.”
“You know,” Neil remarked.
He nodded. “You know I’ve covered for him at the Shelldrake, which was an exceptional situation and I found out. He is in a steady, loving relationship and they often spend weeks apart because he knows he can’t bring his boyfriend here, because he was scared of the reaction.”
“Guests could find out,” he hissed.
“So what?” Harry said. “You’d be surprised, I don’t think many would actually mind. He is here to teach dance, yes?”
Neil nodded reluctantly. “Yes.”
