also when gtn’s characters work as a community dynamic, and htn feels more close knit given the thousands of years of history between the lyctors, who work more as a fucked up family dynamic with god as a father figure and mercymorn and augustine as the evil and weird aunt and uncle. and how god uses this dynamic and his power over harrow to manipulate her and let other people hurt her. 

it’s also just so shocking reading htn like anytime i read it or think about it i feel sick 2 my stomach 2 comprehend the amount of pain harrow was in, how afraid she was that entire book, and how completely disconnected from the nature of humanity the lyctors and god were to even try and help her or recognise a severely mentally ill girl because not only were they so preoccupied with their own bullshit but they, on a very basic level, did not give a shit because in the face of things harrow didn’t matter to them at all. i don’t even think the way they treat her is entirely a statement of how thousands of years of loss can ruin a person but just that thousands of years of being far away from the rest of humanity & knowing you will never experience it the way you used to & knowing you are far more powerful and far more important than any of those thousands of people, why would some girl matter. even if she did worship you.

HII CLY UM. i read this three days ago and went CRAZY over it um. yeah so basically um. i DO think buck would have eaten eddie if he had died. not even because buck wanted to live particularly badly, either, i think it's very possible buck eats eddie and then kills himself but like. buck eats eddie because he needs eddie to live on inside of him, he needs to not leave eddie behind, he needs eddie to stay with him if he's even going to TRY to continue living after this. i also think that if he DID eat eddie after he died he would take that secret to his grave. but in a way he would NEED to eat eddie to be sure he was really gone. but also never gone from him specifically. this fic made me actually crazy. thank you.
