I am so grateful to be employed full time again after nine months of scraping together bartending shifts. And I'm extremely grateful that I was able to find an employer that's willing to work with me while I'm having to leave for appointments all the time while trying to get a diagnosis for whatever the hell is happening to my meat suit.

i really, really want to get back into writing and do so for my current fandom (pedro pascal’s characters) but i’m so intimidated. i have so many ideas in my noggin but i’m wondering if i should ease back in by taking requests and see how they’re received. i have past works on here from years ago but i don’t know if that qualifies as a person to even send requests to.

idk, does anyone have any thoughts here? i love reading and commenting on everyone’s works but i’d like a chance to share mine.

I watched the Heather's musical last night and omg.

I love the Heather's almost my obsession with the Hamilton musical-

When I was, I think, a sophomore in high school the announcements, which included the pledge of allegiance, fell during my PE period. It was a mix of all grades and one boy, a notorious "trouble-maker" IE he was smarter than anything the curriculum could throw at him and boredom made him mouthy and a nuisance to authority figures, continued to read his book through the pledge and did not stand. Our PE teacher went ballistic and forced him to stand for the duration of the class - we weren't doing an activity that day - so while everyone sat around on the bleachers this kid just stood to the side for the entire 45 minutes, giant novel in his hands and read quietly. If a teacher had screamed at me like that, told me that if I didn't wanna stand for the pledge that I should move to a different country, my response certainly would not have been "I plan to. As soon as I graduate I'm moving to Germany." I wonder what he's doing now.

dear usamerican high schoolers looking for a way to resist fascism: sit through the pledge of allegiance.

no getting up. no looking at the flag.

everyone will be looking at you. you'll be sweating like a fucking hippopotamus. your teacher will sternly tell you to get up. you'll feel stupid and that maybe its not worth it because you're just a kid in a classroom. but I'm here to remind you that there are no real life consequences to detention. there are however real life consequences to resisting a thoughtless performance of nationalism.
