This scene is very important to me, cause getting to see Jax, the character that, up till this point had put up this unbothered attitude. Only things to change when he’s on the receiving end of someone else. A taste of his own medicine you could say.

You can see how clearly unnerved he is here, he smiles as gangle wanted, but it’s a smile derived from nervousness and fear, not the typical laid back grin he always has.

He never once thought that he would be on the receiving end of something like this, and he’s scared

The torch relay was over by then and the staff has been debugging the camera position for a while. just wait a little longer with Yibo. the baby just smiled warmly. later, other torchbearers were being interviewed nearby. yibo just said it casually "I think it doesn't matter, there are other people's voices."

then they cooperated and recorded the first Q&A. i met him many times because of work. He is always considerate. not late or even arrive early and just wait in the car. easy to talk to but not too busy, very cooperative, professional and insightful. After the filming was over, he was just playing with his cell phone alone.

I think Orym's position here is such a great one to depict, because the reality of any form of political organizing you will find someone who will not budge. This is fundamentally neutral, though someone like this can certainly have a position you find repugnant. It doesn't matter. This is the reality of dealing with that person. If someone will under no circumstances change their position - especially if it's informed by personal experience - that doesn't mean they are a good or bad person or their position is justified or not, but it does mean that to get them on your side, either you will have to find a way to appeal to them, not the other way around, or you will have to move forward without their support.

When encountering someone like this, you can bang your head against the brick wall and tell them about the superiority of your position for as long as you want, but unless you dip into threats and coercion or worse, you really cannot make them do anything they don't want to, no matter how eloquently you speak. There's considerable power in being that person.

(For what it's worth, I think he's perhaps the truest foil to Ludinus in this respect; I believe Ludinus's beliefs to be just as deeply ingrained and immutable. The key difference is that Orym is not in any way responsible for the death of Ludinus's family, or like, Molaesmyr, so when they move into the moral part of the argument instead of simply the blunt reality of unmoving objects, he does have a significant advantage.)

Something that I really love about Louis and Lestat's love, is that they're so opposite about it. On one hand, you have Lestat who's saying all the time that he loves Louis (even if he can't say it to his face), always talking about how he makes him feel. He's very loud about his love for Louis, again, if he's not outwardly saying the exact words, he's showing it by doting on him, buying him new clothes, trying to give him a comfortable life (often whether Louis wants him to or not).

And then you have Louis. I think people sometimes forget or just don't realise that Louis is so deeply in love with Lestat, equally as much as Lestat is with him. Louis cares for Lestat so so much, he's just far more subtle about it. Unlike Lestat, Louis isn't displaying such huge gestures of affection. His love is smaller in how he shows it, not smaller in how much he feels. I like to think that it's because Louis feels that his love for Lestat is for the two of them and no one else. Anybody outside of their relationship isn't apart of it, therefore doesn't need to see it. Louis' love for Lestat may seem small from an outsiders POV, but between himself and Lestat, the subtle way in which he displays his affections speak so loudly.

I love the way Lestat shows his love because it's so loud and obvious. He can't contain his love so he has to share it with the world for everyone to know about. He has so much love to give for this one man and we all get the privilege of seeing that. But I also love how Louis shows his love because it's more subtle. It feels more intimate and private, he doesn't want or need for anyone else to see it. He knows his love for Lestat is true and strong and Lestat knows it too, and that's all they need.

Neither way is more or less valid, they both love and care for each other more than anything, they just go about it in different ways. And that's really beautiful to me and makes me love them even more than I already do everytime I think about it.
