On Consent (and drunken escapades)

[Spoilers for Reverse 4 You and The Secret of Us]

Honestly, this episode of Reverse 4 You didn’t make me as uncomfortable as The Secret of Us.  In this case, Four is drunk, but she’s also clearly the initiator.  I don’t feel like Wa is taking advantage of her.  From everything that we’ve seen prior, Wa is clearly into Four, and as clueless as Wa may be, as viewers we know Four is also into her.  And I think if you could magic away the alcohol somehow and ask Four if she really wants to do this, she would say yes in the moment.  That doesn’t necessarily mean that she won’t regret it the next morning (damn you ep5 preview), but there isn’t anything against her will happening.  It doesn’t seem like Wa is taking advantage of Four’s impaired judgment.

This is in contrast to The Secret of Us, when Earn takes Lada home from the bar, they haven’t gotten back together yet, they’re both still doing the thing to make each other jealous, and it’s unclear if Lada has forgiven Earn for the past.  As I was watching, I kept hoping that Earn would put the brakes on at some point, and just let Lada sleep it off.  Because if we go by the same measure as above, and magically make Lada sober in that moment, would she have agreed to what happened?  I’m unsure, and that makes me a lot less comfortable.  Even if Lada is being jealous, and she’s still physically attracted to Earn, on an intellectual level I don’t know if she was ready to go back there no matter how much Earn wanted to.  You can see Lada tries to leave when she wakes up afterwards, and she’s trying to get away from Earn.  This one seems more like Earn taking advantage of Lada’s impaired judgment.  And yeah, that made me feel a lot worse about it.

We were robbed of seeing my boys interact outside the game and seeing what their dynamic was like. I'm especially bummed we didn't get to see Thanos' drip and get a idea of his color palette. Nam Gyu I can assume black leather jacket with a Thanos merch shirt. I just needed 1 scene even...just 1 so my brain can rot and linger on the yearning between them. Nam Gyu being the possessive no-YES boyfriend that he is when some of Thanos' fans approach him and ask for an autograph. Thanos being the nice asshole that he is, reluctantly gives it away and goes against his boyfriend’s wishes for the sake of causing an argument between him. He plays it off like "mo big deal. Yeah whatever" but he's just happy to get confirmation that his Nam-Su still loves him, because bro was feeling doubt and second guessing their own twisted love for each other. 😭🙏🏻

Instead they thought it was smart to fill time on that useless cop that did nothing but give somebody a ticket for a wearing a helmet and play with a drone all season 🤦‍♂️ Gi-Hun and his annoying partner I obviously understand but the cop is such a waste of life it hurts. The boat shit could've been cut out for more time with people actually important and playing the game. Why they refused to give us a breadcrumb for Thangyu pre-game will never make sense.

Some things I wish we'd seen in season 2 of Carmen Sandiego! In no particular order, a visibly younger and scruffy Carmen during her first meeting with Ivy and Zack, Carmen's Milan runway look having her fluffy hair instead of it being straightened, Julia in an ACME pantsuit instead of the skirt, and Zack wearing a more original jacket than the black one he wore in the Emirates.

The Bad Batch season 3 has been interesting thus far. I really liked episodes 1-7 and I've nothing particularly bad to say about any of those episodes. But honestly episode 8, and after today, episode 9, it's once again gotten to be a bit of a pain to get through. Maybe I'm just too much of a Crosshair guy, idk. Today's episode especially irked me but last time I discussed the topics it delves into I got some pissy people in my notes and I'd rather avoid that this time around.

ok so there isn't a wiki for witch's castle yet I think and I don't think anyone else is documenting this stuff so whenever I finish a character decor set I'm gonna post all the stuff online so whoever wants to make a wiki for the game in the future will have an easier time rjrjjfjfjf it's. Gonna be a slow process but I like just finally completed alchemist's set and I'm ready to post every single decoration description. (Plus the room decorated as in the picture) like. I genuinely do recommend this game for Cookie Run fans if you're like me and obsessed with. I know it like looks incomplete but I have no clue what happens when you get the specified number of copies of decor items you already have. also sadly I don't have any of alchemist's curio items those things ar like the hardest stuff to get for any cookie and there's no way to really guarantee them outside of a few specific characters for seasons so. Persona romance routes are all pretty bad but damn they really hit rock bottom with p3p femc route like the misogyny is very blatant and it’s almost hilarious like look at the Shinjiro romance. When you do his social link he’s like very clearly respectful of Kotone as a leader and explicitly says stuff like "oh yeah you’re clearly the best fighter we have, I don’t really know much about fighting like you do, I hope I’m not dragging you down, you’re doing a good job as leader just remember to take care of yourself, everyone looks up to you I know you can rely on them" etc. like he has faith in her leading abilities. But then when you romance him he’s like got dialogue like "bwah bluh i gotta look after you because you’re a GIRL and you need to stick by me, a big strong MAN so you don’t get hurt" and "don’t wear that revealing outfit in front of other guys 👺" and it’s like. Does he respect her or not and also like it doesn’t make sense for him to look down on her for being a girl cuz he literally has never not been led by a girl leader during his time in sees and Mitsuru in particular really has her shit together when it comes to being responsible and a good fighter and she’s always known the most about Tartarus

It’s also like. Idk maybe its just me I’m not a girl so FUCK IF I KNOW but to me the appeal of romancing Shinji is the fact that he’s sweet and sensitive and gentle and has respect for you despite the fact that he acts all scary. That’s like, what made me like this character in the first place. But the writers seem to think what women want is for a BIG STRONG MAN to protect them because they are just DELICATE WOMEN who are inferior in every way it’s like. Shut upppp thanks
