One time in the 6th grade, my friend accidentally threw his retainer away during lunch, but didn’t realize it until the trash had already been taken out.

He told the lunchroom monitor about it and he had to go search through the trash bags in the dumpster outside — and of course me and our other friend tagged along to “help out” (we just wanted out of class lmao)

The principal eventually showed up from his lunch break and was like “Why are there students in the dumpster?”

The lunchroom monitor was like “I didn’t know what else to do.”

He replied, “We can’t have students in the dumpster, Carol.”

Which became one of the most repeated phrases among our friend group for the rest of the year. 💀

So I like playing with taunters tongue equipped cus it is fun and adds variety for when running through and beating the game for however the many doezenth time.

However, despite watching Hug's invasion stream at the time, I foolishly didn't check to see what RL she was playing. And since I was playing as Maldron from ds2 when she invaded, she saw this and deemed my contract for existence was out of date (since ds2 bad D:<! )

“some women just aren’t wired to be mothers.” define wired. what does it mean to be wired for motherhood, or not wired for motherhood. what’s your definition of a good mother? is it a stereotype? probably. if it’s not, what you actually mean to say is “some women are just too flawed to be mothers.” “some women are just too selfish/lazy/insane to be mothers.” that’s not something to normalize, it’s something to remedy.

I'm so tired of people complaining about MM's portrayal of Thetis, like I generally don't like to post negativity because no. And I'm not the type to complain about "media literacy" because half of the people who complain about it don't even know what media literacy and critical thinking is, and the other half are just self important arseholes who believe that their only redeeming quality is that someone in high school told them that they were smart

But to anyone who ever said that MM was demonizing Thetis. I'm taking away all the complex women characters until you learn how to be nice

MM wrote about how a woman that was forced to have a child she probably didn't even want, then come to love him, only to learn that she was going to lose him very soon anyway

She was panicking, so she tried to be controlling in hopes that she could achieve this one thing that maybe could prevent her child from dying

And she was so focused on protecting him, that she didn't realized that she was hurting him

In the end, she has to come to terms that in her way to protect this image she had of him in her head, she ended up hurting her real son and didn't even knew him

Thats why she asks Patroclus to tell her about Achilles in the end, to understand who was he beyond what she wanted him to be and comes to terms with the fact that she could've spend all that time being happy with him

But then I see people going "ThEtIs ShOUlD bE a GoOd mOm"

Like of course, reduce this complex character that this woman is, an imperfect person and an even more imperfect mother to just a stereotypical good mom without other personality trait other than being a good mom; thats sooo feminist 🙄 (it's sarcasm)

(And why should she ever be kind to Patroclus when shes A GODDESS!?!?!? Patroclus is like an insect to her!!!!)

I'm not saying that MM is beyond criticism, like why are Menoetius and Pyrrhus soooo one dimensional. But when you're criticizing some part of the book that's not even true, it makes me think that some of you went "I personally don't like it therefore it's bad iabdkabhsishsysk"

i let my mom use my library card like a week ago or so for her libby account (i don't use libby; occasionally i use hoopla; as far as digital services go i'm a loyal kanopy girl) and i went to check my library account online to see if my inter-library loan request was arrived and it said i had one title checked out already and i was like ???? bc i know i currently don't. and it showed that my mom is using libby to listen to an audiobook of fifty shades of gray. my life is worse now

So I finally defeated the monster horde at Fort Hateno (how many times did I die? Hahaha not relevant...) clearing up the road so I could FINALLY go visit Hateno

First thing I did was check to make sure my house was still there ofc! And.....

Rant

I love my job because I love working with kids. I love seeing them grow and watching the ways their little minds work and helping them when they need it.

I also hate my job because I'll get used and abused all day, having to do things that AREN'T MY RESPONSIBILITY because literally no one else is paying attention to the kids, I am the only one watching even though I'm NOT the teacher, I'm NOT the classroom aide, I am a one-on-one.

But I CARE. I care so FREAKING MUCH about these kids that I can't just not do anything. I have TRIED to not do anything. It never works. And it's maddening and I hate it I hate it I hate that I can be USED in this way.

But by God these kids do not deserve to suffer just because I'm the only adult in the room willing to DO MY GOSHDANGED JOB so I do more than I should because these are LITTLE PEOPLE who don't UNDERSTAND. I want to wear a shirt every day that says, "I'm doing this FOR THE KIDS."

I just wish somebody else would do it for them too.
