Their story was very unsatisfying AND I’m upset that Penelope was cut before the game was released. Darion Mograine had a darkhound puppy and they just got rid of her??? Justice for Penelope.

Okay, buckle up. Tim Curry made a movie with Linda Kozlowski (from Crocodile Dundee) and Annie Potts in my home town in Arkansas during the eighties. It was barely released, so you probably haven't heard of it, but it was called Pass the Ammo, and he played a televangelist. For the movie they built a whole extra set onto our local Victorian stone theater and blew it up, and you could find pieces of Styrofoam rock all over downtown for a few weeks. Eureka is a place you probably haven't heard of if you aren't from the American South, but it was an imminently appropriate place for this film to take place, as it is simultaneously the gayest small town in the south, and a place visited by a large number of southern baptists on account of it having The Great Passion Play. This is about the life of Christ, and my dad, who was a chiropractor, used to treat the guy who played Jesus when he had crucifixion related injuries, but that is neither here nor there. What was primarily interesting about the Passion Play to me, as a nascent horse girl, was that the owners had a herd of miniature horses that grazed at the top of Passion Play Road. We stopped to see them and marvel at their tininess pretty often. At the bottom of Passion Play Road was Christ of the Ozarks, which had been built by the same guy who built the dinosaurs out at Dinosaur Park. He seemed to know a lot more about Dinosaur anatomy than human anatomy, as evidenced by the fact that Christ was often called 'The Milk Carton with Arms. ' So what is the point of this story. Well, Tim Curry was asked in the local paper what he liked best about our town, and he didn't name any of the aforementioned delights. Or the art galleries, or the Anita Bryant Theater, or the copy of Graceland behind it. No.

He said he enjoyed the fishing.

Now I don't know if he was trying not to piss off the southern baptists, though the fact that the movie was a parody of Evangelical Christianity might have already done that for him. Or if he had other unknown but valid reasons, but let me tell you, all gays should be equally disappointed in this boring answer.

This man is a gay camp icon and he could not find one thing in my very gay, very camp hometown to praise besides the fishing. I'm shocked, I tell you, shocked.

Writing this has reminded me how very eccentric the American South can be. And how much I love my home town. But also, Tim Curry is boring? As far as I can tell. Please tell me if you know something about him that would indicate otherwise.

I heard recently that you can tell a lot about a person by the first movie they know Tim Curry from and I literally can’t stop thinking about it.
