super good movie imo, i'm so glad they didn't make jinu/rumi kiss. made me ship them even more. the friendship between the girls was so cute. i lovee me some character death but the way they did it is so... like genuinely there's so much to do w that concept.

AND THE END CREDITS!!! holy peak LOVED seeing the va's faces and stuff :D they all CRUSHED IT.

10/10 animation as well. the title made me think it was some corny ass movie but i saw the animation and was like goddamn. the soundtrack was also wonderful, that idol song was my favorite though.

wish we got to see more of the saja boys but they did great w the screentime they had! just imagining their backstories - probably similar to jinu's, in a sense....

and wonderful character designs!! so pleasing to look at, idk why i was fawning over rumi's braid.

ZOEY IS SO ME.... it feels wrong saying that but she's genuinely so relatable. hoping to see more of her and huntrix's interactions in general.

i would highly highly HIGHLY recommend this movie, even and especially if you dont like romance, which ik is like one of the main marketing thing theyre going with. seriously. it was soo fucking peak, the amount of satisfaction i got of the unresolved tension!!! and WOW character death wasn't sad but it was done in a way that swas still like damn. really satisfying all around.

also wondering about celine... especially towards the end with rumi asking celine for advice/her to use the sword, and her words... i feel like that's a metaphor for something but i'm not sure what.

anyway highly recommend!

Noooooooo but srsly imagine a mother brings candy for her sick child and for the other children too. And since nurse!darling is such a sweet, innocent person and the child's favourite nurse, she gets candy too after happily helping the mom handing out the sweets first. 😂😭

During lunch in Dr. Kry's office, she told him about the wholesome moment. He listened intently and smiled about the great moment she had during her shift. She was so cute, provided with a pure heart of gold which never failed to impress him from time to time. But once she had eaten her lunch, she grabbed the popsicle as a sweet treat for herself (after all, she had eaten her all her veggies).

Dr. Kry had to inner slap himself in order to manage not looking at his darling right now, a blush creeping down his now hot face. He tried to remain cool and slighty shifts in his seat while his brain was screaming. Forcing to look away, his eyes were darting to the furthest corners of his office room. Nurse!darling however noticed his rising nervousness and caught him stealing a glance to her popsicle in her mouth.

"Are you okay?" Her honey-sweet voice filled the awkward silence in his office. He clears his throat, fumbling with his tie around, as a faint hope to breath better. "Yes, I'm fine", he manages to squeeze his answer through his lips. But he couldn't help himself looking again at his nurse. Her lips were... so soft.

She gave him a worried look, mindlessly rolling the goddamn candy in her mouth that was nearly giving him stroke. He could tell her brain gears started to turn. Her thinking face made his spiraling thoughts even more worse and primal instincts started to flood his mind. No... focus.

"Oh. OH, I get it know!"

"WHAT?!" His head snaps to her, so fast in fact he almost gave himself a neck strain. His icy blue eyes are wide open in shock. How could she-? No... Oh no no no no no no no no no no no!!!

The blonde was about to defend himself, that he didn’t meant it like that. But before he could utter his first words he was met with a beautiful smile that instantly took his breath away and flabbergasted him. The nurse turned around, fishing another popsicle from her pocket and handing it to him.

"A sweet treat for the hard working doctor too!~ I did not forget you!", she sing-song to him, her smile now growing bigger. He could swear her body was illuminating the room because she happened to be a walking sun. He wordlessly stared at the popsicle in her small hand, slowly taking it with a tender smile and pressing a shy "thanks" from his mouth. His heart was beating up to his ears, now his face crimson red of shame, lovely embarrassment, filled with mortified adoration as her amiable words stuck to him.

Left Behind - Agent 00

At first, it didn’t bother him much—he liked the attention, the constant texts, the check-ins throughout the day. But lately, it felt like a weight around his neck, pulling him down every time he glanced at his phone or saw her name on the screen. He was trying to work, and his phone buzzed again. It was Y/n, asking if he wanted anything to eat but him being busy, he never replied.

He had been patient, but the texts kept coming—one after another, each more persistent than the last. Suddenly the door burst open and Y/n walks in with a sandwich and two bottles of water. She placed on the little table on his right and expected him to acknowledge her, even if it was just a nod. She waved her hand in his face, tugged on his shirt, and even rubbed his neck, which he LOVED by the way. She huffed and walked over to his PC and unplugged the system. Finally, he snapped.

“What the fuck did you do?! I was editing my goddamn videos and now I have to start all over again! Can you just leave me alone for once? I’m trying to work here!” His voice was sharper and louder than he meant, his words stinging with frustration. I mean could you really blame him?

Y/n’s heart skipped a beat. She hadn’t expected that. Not from him. Not like this. “Din…” Her voice was quiet, tentative, like she was unsure of what she had just heard. “I—I’m just checking in. I thought—”

“I don’t need you checking in all the time!” he interrupted, his words harsh. “You’re so clingy, Y/n. It’s exhausting. Just—just give me some space for once!”

Her face fell, the warmth she always felt when they were together suddenly replaced by coldness. Her eyes welled up with tears, but she didn’t say anything. She didn’t argue or try to defend herself. She just stood there, in shock, as the words sank in.

Agent stared at her, his chest heaving, regret creeping in immediately. But it was too late. She turned away, her tears falling freely now, and walked out of the room, leaving him with a deep, gnawing emptiness in his gut.

For the next few hours, neither of them said a word. Agent tried to focus on his work, but the image of Y/n’s hurt face kept replaying in his mind. He wanted to apologize, to go after her and make things right. But pride held him back. And besides, she had always been the one to reach out first. She always fixed things.

Y/n, on the other hand, couldn’t bring herself to speak either. The words “clingy” echoed in her mind like a cruel, repetitive chant. She had never felt more small, more unwanted. She sat on her bed, staring at her phone, wondering if he would ever text her again. But the hours passed in silence, the space between them growing wider, the weight of his words pressing down on her.

As night fell, both of them were left in their own separate worlds—Agent, stewing in his regret, and Y/n, nursing the broken pieces of her heart. Neither of them knew how to bridge the gap they had created, both of them too proud and too hurt to make the first move. The silence stretched on, as fragile as the bond they once shared. And for the first time, neither of them knew if things would ever be the same again.

NEXT DAY

The silence between Agent and Y/n stretched on for hours. Neither of them had reached out, both waiting for the other to be the first to apologize. But as time passed, the weight of the argument settled heavily on Agent’s chest. He couldn’t shake the image of Y/n’s tear-streaked face. The words he’d said felt like lead in his stomach.

He sat at his desk, staring at his phone, his thumb hovering over her contact. He wanted to send something, anything—an apology, an explanation, a sign that he was sorry. But he was afraid. Afraid that what he had said was too much, too harsh. That Y/n wouldn’t want him anymore.

On the other side of town, Y/n sat on her bed, her phone still clutched tightly in her hands. She stared at the screen, willing it to light up with a message from Agent. Anything. But the hours passed, and her hope began to dwindle. She had tried so hard to be everything he wanted, to be supportive and understanding, but all she had gotten in return was that word—clingy. It stung, more than she cared to admit.

Eventually, she set her phone down on the nightstand, wiped away the last of her tears, and let out a shaky sigh. Maybe it was over. Maybe she had been too much. Maybe they weren’t meant to be.

But then, just as she was about to close her eyes, her phone buzzed. She froze, heart racing.

It was a text from Din.

Y/n’s breath caught in her throat. The words hit her like a wave, both relieving and painful at once. She stared at the message, her fingers hovering over the keys, unsure of how to respond. After everything, could she really just forgive him? Could things go back to how they were?

But then she remembered their good moments—the laughter, the comfort, the connection. She remembered how much she loved him, and how much she hated the distance that had grown between them.

Her fingers moved quickly over the screen, typing, deleting, typing again. Finally, she sent a simple reply.

Candy!

-LOVES those shirts with the thumb holes.

-I think she's the type to wear the same kind of clothes for like 8 straight years, so her silhouette is basically the same.

-Little animal ear hoodies!

I don't have tons of ideas for Candy and Grenda, but I do think I have a good handle of the kind of teenagers they'd be. Candy is the kid who runs like 12 different fandom blogs that are super popular in hyper-niche spaces. There are at least 7 wikipedias that would collapse in on themselves without her.

Grenda!

-She and Marius got some cute clothes for each other.

-Technically dresses richer than Paz now.

Grenda is basically the exact same as she's always been, except now she wears more expensive jewelry and dresses like she just stepped off a cruise. Possibly because she did. She and Marius are actually doing great (it will not last, but they will remain good friends well into adulthood). She and Candy have also picked up FCLORPing and Grenda is the best goddamn fortress they've ever seen. Soos is greatly impressed.

Pacifica!

-Almost always in her Greasy's uniform.

-Part-times at the Mystery Shack later on (Soos and Melody are good influences)

I think that Pacifica works at Greasy's without her parents knowing, but once they find out they threaten to sue the diner because they're the worst. This leads to Pacifica spending her time at the Mystery Shack shadowing Melody and Wendy. I think Melody would be a very good person for her to be around. She's honest and to-the-point without being judgemental or callous. Soos is happy to let Pacifica just hang out and be a kid, he probably sees it as passing it forward since the Shack was such a boon in his own childhood. (Also the Northwests would never dare threaten the Shack after Weirdmageddon, it's insanely beloved by the town, going after it would be social suicide.)

You can't see it in this drawing, but I think that Paz ties her hair with a special tie that has a tiny crochet llama hanging from it. Courtesy of Mabel, of course. It literally never leaves her sight (although she'd never admit that.)

I don't think these three hang out a lot, there's a lot of painful history there, but they're definitely friendlier than before.

It takes a sudden jolt for Stan to wake, a cough stuttering out as his brain comes back online.

"Mr. Pines?"

"Whassat?" Doesn't even feel like the words come outta his mouth, but then his glasses are being handed to him and he slides them on, blinking away the grit.

..Mostly. He brings up a thumb to wipe at his eyes, squinting up at Soos from his chair. Huh. Must've fallen asleep in the livingroom again. Figures.

"What time is it?" He slurs, grimacing as he starts feeling the drying drool on his face. His other hand wipes it away, unbothered. (By this point the kid's seen him do a lot grosser, so. Whatever.)

Soos is quiet, giving him that weird, dark look he's never been able to quite figure out. (It looks like.. well, fuck, it looks like desire, but there's no goddamn way-)

"Hey, Earth to Soos?" He murmurs, snapping a few times. "What’s the time, gumdrop?"

The kid jolts like he's been slapped, blushing, and that look fades quick.

"Oh-! Sorry, Mr. Pines. It's, uh, it's-" He swivels his head to the clock hanging up behind Stan's chair. "..Long hand... short hand... um, like, six. Six thirty. Three."

He frowns. Mystery Shack closed around afternoon, he knows, because he'd kept dozing off and didn't wanna fall and break a hip or something in front'a all the chumps. "Six? In the evening?"

Stan blinks and turns and, looking out the window, yep, the sun's coming down and bathing everything into a nice yellow-orange-ish.

But, that begs the question...

With caution, he turns back to his employee, squinting at him.

"Shouldn't you have gone home by now, doin'- uh, whatever is it you do? Keep your abuela company?"

His Spanish is pretty rusty by now, but he's known Soos long enough that 'abuela' rolls off the tongue in that fun way.

(And it makes Soos start to get that look in his eye, again, but- but Stan, hah, no, he wouldn't want that at all. Obviously.)

"Oh, I called her, she's not worried," the kid waves it off and half-perches on the arm of the chair, looming over him a little.

(And if Stan's eyes linger on that bare thigh, those shorts -- are they.. smaller than normal? -- riding up just a little, then, well, he was just concerned about the kid falling off.)

"I was, uh.. I mean, I- um, well," Soos tries, biting his bottom lip (cute) and Stan just snorts and pinches his thigh.

"Spit it out, Soos."

"I made dinner. For- for us. To share."

...What? Why would- why. Stan suddenly feels like he's missing something important.

Soos looks away, because he's- he's probably taking too long to answer and the kid seemed so shy about it but he just, he just-

"It's, I mean, I know you told me not to... but I really wanted to, because, I mean, when you tried to take my birthday off the calendar..." Soos is saying, mumbling, and he's biting at his bottom lip and looking away and playing with his fingers and- Birthday?

OH. Oh, fuck, birthday, it's- suddenly the pieces click together, all at once, and Soos looks like he's about to cry. Say something, damn it!

Stan puts a hand on Soos's bare thigh.

What? Fuck, abort, no, wait-

The kid blinks, makes a noise that should be illegal, Moses, and turns to stare at him, wet eyes and all.

"Um. M- ...Mr. Pines?"

Stan swallows, and he valiantly tries not to notice how Soos notices and fucking looks.

"No, no no, shit, sorry, gumdrop, I just-" he clears his throat. Should he move his hand off? He should move his hand off.

His hand, stubbornly, stays.

"I, uh, just wasn't expecting a whole little.. thing. Just you and me, huh? That sounds, uh, sounds- good. I... I mean, yeah, I don't like.. celebratin', you know that, but you went through the trouble of making, uh..."

"Hotdogs," Soos says, small and strained, and it's so- such a Soos thing to do that it helps knock Stan out of whatever's in the air, the summer air, uh, pollen. Flowers. Yep. Darn... allergies.

"Right. Hotdogs, that," Stan gets out. "Why don't we, uh, go ahead and- and head to the kitchen? Yeah?" Without even thinking about it, his thumb starts rubbing the skin of Soos's thigh.

Soos makes a little.. whimpering sound. Fuck.

"Yeah," Soos echoes, voice high. "Yeah, um, awesome. Cool."

Neither of them move.

Christ. Stan can't- he can't be doing this, he should- he should just get up and-

Everything seems to freeze as a warmth covers his hand. The one on Soos's thigh. Because- because Soos is now covering it with his own.

It's like something short circuits, fizzling out, and any organs or whatever he could've used to speak with are shot. His eyebrows raise and he's sure he's making a face that looks almost comical. What is happening right now.

Stan flicks his gaze up to Soos's face, and he's- blushing, and his fingers slot in with Stan's and they're.. holding hands now.

Soos swallows, nervous, but clearly someone's gotta speak and it definitely isn't gonna be Stan first.

"So... um. Do I- is this... cool? I, uh, I know it's, maybe it's a little, um, weird," he murmurs, smiling in a wobbly, nervous way. "'Cus you kinda- you're- kinda like a Dad... to me... and I mean- I'm, I'm of age, obviously, you know, and I just-"

Stan interrupts him. "I know what age you are, Soos."

The poor kid just gets redder. "Haha- I mean, yeah, of course you- uh, obviously, you do..." He looks at Stan, then away, then back and away again. "So... we're.. cool..?"

"I-" Stan stops. Swallows. Christ, it's- isn't this wrong? No, Soos is of age, but it- he- fucking-

He stares at the kid, feels his own old, gnarled hand entwined with Soos's. He's got no idea how this managed to escalate with so few fucking words, but, hell. He just...

Stan just frowns, and takes an awful, grueling few seconds to actually think about this.

There's.. really only one big thing he feels he cares enough about to ask. He sighs and looks away, free hand rubbing at the back of his neck.

"I just... hell, kid- I'm.. cool, yeah, it's just- I'm- I'm not gettin' any younger. You sure you wouldn't rather have somebody your own, uh, age?"

Soos makes a noise Stan's never heard from him. Soos fucking scoffs, and that's enough to get him to look back up at him.

"Of course not," he says, plain and simple, entirely honest. "I mean, I've, um, kinda liked you -- like, dating kinda liked you -- since I was fourteen."

Stan almost gets dizzy. "You..? Shit, kid, that's... I dunno what to say. Wow. In- in a good way, I mean."

Soos lets out a relieved little breath, and chuckles. "Oh, good, good, okay. I was worried you'd.. think that was like, weird..."

Stan shakes his head. "No, no, it's- it's fine..."

A unsure, awkward pause drifts in.

Soos purses his lips. "Sooo, do you.. wanna like, kiss or.. or maybe have hotdogs? I'm not really- not really good at kissing yet, I mean, I haven't really practiced and I was kinda- excited about the hotdogs because I think I made 'em pretty good this time, not like last time, 'cus I almost burnt down your kitchen last time but if we kiss I would- I would rather do that. I mean."

Stan watches Soos ramble, actually kinda delighted in getting to see the kid blush about him. It's- well, he knows he's a real casanova, obviously, but it's still kinda been a while so it's... flattering.

It makes him confident enough to smirk and bring their joined hands up, kissing at Soos's knuckles. The kid just blushes and bites at his lip, an excited grin blooming on his face.

"Let's just take it slow, alright, hotshot? I need to make sure my kitchen didn't explode, anyway, but then maybe I'll teach you about how the ol', uh, spit-swapping works, huh?"

He pats at Soos's thigh and the kid stands so quick it almost makes Stan dizzy, nodding along like one of the bobble-heads in the gift shop.

"Yes, Mr. Pines, sir, um, yes please. Yeah. Awesome. Cool."

They let go of eachother's hands, Soos wiping his sweaty palms on his shorts- yeah, okay, those are definitely a shorter pair, not the normal khakis.

Stan gestures to them. "..Why'd you switch out for shorter ones? Thought you liked when they went to your knees."

A blush rises on Soos's face again. "I, uh.. was- I was hoping you'd.. like them?"

"Ohhh," Stan grins like a shark, hopping out of his chair. "You tryin' to seduce me, huh?"

"M-maybe a little.." Soos squeaks.

Stan chuckles and, in a quick decision, presses a tiny kiss to the kid's cheek, staying just a little too close to murmur low next to his ear:

"Well, good thing for it then, sweetheart, since it's working out for you."

Soos makes a little noise and shivers, biting at his lip again.

When Stan moves past him to get to the kitchen, patting his shoulder on the way with a maybe-too-fond: "C'mon, kid," Soos follows with hearts in his eyes.

Christ alive, Stan's already looking forward to eating this kid up. Happy fucking birthday to me.

🔥CHARACTER REVIEW TIME🔥

(Can you tell that my portuguese teacher didn't come so I have 100 minutes without shit to do)

ANYWAYS, since I'm in the 4th episode I think it's a good time to see first impressions

MAIN CHARACTERS

CHARLES

I love him so much, like I was 10 minutes in and saying "I would die for you, I would kill for you, just ask and I'll do it"

Favourite character obviously

Wanna put him in a jar and protect him from everything bad in the world

He's brunette, has curls, is the sunshine character, has daddy issues and uses humour to cope so obviously he's also on the list of fictional crushes

Also something that I absolutely love about this show is that they pick this "stereotypical characters" and make them better.

Like, in this case the always happy character would have a ton of trauma but the show (or the characters, but that's a talk for another post) would not acknowledge this, they would show real depressed shit and then completely ignore it for the rest of the show.

Or just show it in the end of the series then kill him off.

But here they're letting people know from the beginning AND it's visible that the fact that he hides it is gonna be a major plot point in the show which makes me SO HAPPY

And in the loop scenes they made sure to focus on Charles face and reaction every. single. time.

Anways, I'm soo curious to learn more about his trauma and death and to see his character development

And he's so cute and trying so hard to make sure everyone likes him and lighten the mood and to not be a bother and to make everyone happy and I'm gonna cry

EDWIN

I also love him so goddamn much

He's my baby (he was born more two hundred years before me and is my age BUT HE'S MY BABY)

Seriously someone needs to sit him down and say that everything is going to be ok (and get death the fuck away from him, my boy does not deserve hell, he deserves to be with his boyfriend best friend)

Also love this concept that everyone around him knows he's not straight, he knows that he's not straight but somehow he's still in the closet. Like, he never says he's straight, but he says to Niko that Mounty and him both boys, so one cannot be into the other and when Niko says that boys can like like each other he just turns the conversation around

I think they're writing that so well. It's subtle yet obvious, it's so good

Also, he's autistic, definitely in the spectrum. He obviously doesn't know because the first diagnosed case of autism was in 1943

And the dynamics that he has with everyone is SO GODDAMN GOOD

Really love that we have someone to smack this idiots and say "You're in love with each other" because they are not gonna realise that by themselves

At first I thought she was gonna be this really closed and introvert character that was gonna talk when absolutely necessary and was a bit emo. But like her hair her personality lightened up as soon as the parasites got out (she was sick it's normal that she was wuth a really depressed attutude but Bea's too focused on the story to remember how people act socially)

Also love how eager she is to help and how she has nothing to do with the boys , she's a "cas closed" but even Edwin can't say no to her

I feel like her "almost dying" trauma is gonna be a bit underrated (although I see that they are not completely ignoring because of the 3rd episode where she felt like she couldn't deal with death since she almost met her the week before) but I want to believe the opposite because until now the show has not disappointed me in terms of traumas (or in other terms really)

SIDE CHARACTERS

I don't have much to say, I like her in the twisted "this is a fun villain" way

I'm really curious to know more about this Lilith and immortality thing

She did loose some points in my book with the whole torturing the crow thing

I'm so confused about his character

Like, he's a really fun character

And his outfits are great

But at the same time, get the fuck away from Edwin, in both the scenes with both of them I was so scared that he was going to the "no consent" zone

I do love that both the scenes where he's in he slays the outfit, tries to drag Edwin out the glass closet, fails, keeps him trapped so he can try to do this one more time and goes away

Like, he has one objective and one objective only and honestly, respect

MAGIC MY BELOVED MAGIC!!! Its one of the best MVs in the entire series, even including T2. Magic is visually stunning and has some fantastic art direction but also is very clever in how it conveys its themes and ideas. Magic doesn't really hide anything from you, not really. It's all symbolic but it Tells You Things. It shows you the abuse, it shows you the cat. There's a fun little relationship going on here where, In Magic. Amane's pain and suffering isn't taken seriously by the people around her and the Audience we are discouraged to take it at face value due to the fictionalized nature of Magic. It's so cool. I'm so fond of the song as well, it's one of the best in the series purely cause of the Layers in it. The implications of this Inability to be good is seeped into Magic. Amane knows this isn't reality, Magic knows it's a show, she watches it at the end. And it's so Sad to me that even in her fictionalized happy world she Cannot be a good girl. It's a standard completely out of reach for her and that idea is just conveyed so well visually.

Im not even talking about the goddamn cat yet- the cat symbolism goes Deep. That cat is HER it has the same wounds Amane has in Purge March. I- I cant talk about the intertextuality of Purge March and Magic here this is Magic propaganda only- I- there's so much good stuff to Magic. I Re watched it over and over again. It has some the Best Writing and Visual Communication in Milgram and I will Die on this Hill.

there are SO many layers to itill the entire cartoony style making it look like a tv show… utilizing the cartoony effects and bright colors to show amane downplaying her own pain… the transformation after she gets punished barely changing anything to show just how manipulated she was from the start… ueueueue

SBS Hyena, episode 1 rewatch (part 2)

I realise I haven't tagged/warned for spoilers, but this will be full of spoilers. I'm sorry.

So the first we see of her… is Kim Hee-sun. Gorgeous hair, beautiful no makeup-makeup face, and...near-bare feet. (This is entirely from Hee-jae's perspective, so his observation of her feet is probably intentional. It’s also not the last time he’ll do it.)

(I assume Hee-jae's writing paeans to her cute turquoise toenails in his note-book.)

I love Hee-sun's oversized white shirt. It’s  interesting that she should wear that, because in the scene just before this, Yoon Hee-jae sheds his shirt in his office and throws it in a bin. And here she is, in a lovely bit of continuity, looking like she might have just picked it off his floor and worn it, along with that cool preppy sweater. 15/10 for style, infinity/10 because she's Kim Hye-soo, and in this house she's everything.

Moving back to daytime —

This is the first time we've heard any reference to Hee-jae being related to a judge, and it's in this unnaturally coy fashion. 

We’re meant to see Hee-jae as a legal force to be reckoned with. He’d have to be, given what we’ve seen so far. Here, he's assuring a result to a client because of who he'll have on his team. He's coasting on Atty Ma's team's work (whether he admits it or not), his own big guns and lots of unearned confidence like any other corporate blowhard. 

I say his confidence is unearned, but he’s probably never had the reason to believe otherwise. He’s a big boy working for one of the big boys - things have never not fallen the way he’s wanted them to, because that’s the way their world functions. Money talks, and they have so goddamn much of it that there is never a real contest. This is the status quo of Yoon Hee-jae’s life, and it’s about to be undone in the most wildly spectacular way possible. 

Yoon Hee-jae has never had to pay his dues or prove his worth - that’s always been for other people to do. Whether he wants to pay his dues or prove his worth…is a different, and more interesting question. He does prove to be smart, thoughtful and deeply strategic as a lawyer later in the show, but we’re not going to see that side of him for a few episodes. 

And then, we find out his grandfather was the former Chief Justice. 

Yoon Hee-jae doesn’t bring this up until Ha Chan-ho brings it up first. It’s not really mentioned up till now, although it gives important context to his success and confidence. He's very comfortable talking about his pull, but he doesn’t talk about the source of the pull, if that makes any sense. I think there are two reasons for this. 

This speaks to a spectacular kind of privilege - this sort of disclosure usually opens doors, but when you’re in that stratosphere of class and breeding, it’s probably declasse to say it out loud, and more than that, it’s unnecessary. People know it and so the doors are always open, 24/7. It’s like the difference between having to tell the maitre’d at The Fat Duck that oh, by the way, you’re Meryl Streep, and you’d really like a reservation, please, and having the table by the window set aside for you every Friday night. 

I also think he wants to be seen as a good, successful lawyer, and not necessarily just Daddy’s boy. That is vital to Hee-jae in a way that seems, again, almost overtly privileged. In a society that is largely only concerned about Getting It, thinking about How You Got It either comes from having the moral backbone of a Hwang Si-mok or the extreme privilege of a Yoon Hee-jae. Those are the two warring forces in Hee-jae - wanting to be known for being a good lawyer, and yet resting on the laurels earned by those before him.

An all-black suit, for a douchey comment about hooking up with one's client's younger sister. That is cackle-worthy in light of what said younger sister does a few episodes down the road. 0/10 for the sister comment, Hee-jae. 

Next up: the prettiest girl ever. 

BOO HYEON A, BEST GIRL, BEST OF ALL. APART FROM JIEUN. 

@thefeastandthefast once said her hair probably smells of raspberries, and that is entirely correct. She is the loveliest and her belted jacket is so chic. (10/10. I dock no points from Ms Boo.)

She, too, is in all-black, like Hee-jae, which positions them similarly against all the other lawyerbots. This dovetails with things we will learn later about both characters. Both are second kids; both come from incredible privilege, and both are the softest marshmallows who will come to love and adore Jung Geum-ja.

I'm constantly amazed by Yoon Hee-jae's total and utter lack of chemistry with anyone other than Women Who Can Step On His Neck. Park Se-jin and Ju Ji-hoon have such a friendly vibe for two very good-looking people. 

Unlike, say.....

THEM. THEM. 

Yet again, this entire encounter feels surreal, in the way the best romances often do. For starters these two aren’t knocking elbows with five other grumpy people looking to do laundry. Yoon Hee-jae doesn’t dress like this, ordinarily. (As an aside, his soft old man cardigan made me giggle. I had at least two bosses who wore cardigans like this, so at least this is somewhat accidentally accurate to me.) I mean, when Ga Gi-hyeok visits him late in the series, he’s wearing a cool bush shirt (thank you @rain-hat) that looks like something Dries van Noten might have put out. (I think it was Gucci, though, I stand to be corrected). All his soft lil sweaters are reserved for the woman he loves.

somthing that annoys me SO MUCH about a lot of Regulus fics (other than how many of them are jegulus. seriously so many of their plots look so interesting but i just can't read jegulus it Reallly doesn't do it for me) is how in almost every single one, Regulus has no friends. not a single one. and the authors always just sort of add him on to the end of the marauders and call it done. SO, I just wanted to say that I appreciate it a lot that in ttdl (and career goals) you gave Regulus FRIENDS!! I like that you've given the Slytherins personalities beyond "Evil" and "Bully," even the ones that are Bullies and will be Evil! (Regulus' camaraderie with the quidditch team my BELOVED. the group celebration after the winning game in ttdl? that heart stopping moment in career goals: tyrant when Megan fell off her broom and Regulus was so worried? His protective thoughts about her ex. 'my second year'? Geoff being Dad? Theophania? (her matching hair ribbons with Megan and Emma was soo cute (nothing to do with Regulus but jsyk I really liked that detail)) Travers (i can't remember his first name but i appreciate him anyways) I totally just got sidetracked but <3<3<3 REGULUS HAS FRIENDS!!)

ok SAME. regulus is another character, like james and lily, who is very easy to reduce down to like. 1-2 canon moments and a couple of character traits, and i think a lot of the 'regulus doesn't have his own friends' fics are also the ones that tend to infantilize regulus and/or just make him someone who exists to Be Saved (by either james or sirius, usually)

which!! i cannot stress enough!! is easy to write. there's a reason these fics are all over the place. if regulus doesn't have his own friends, then you don't need to figure out who they are or what their personalities are like or how they impact him and his relationships with the marauders (who tend to be the focal point of the story). simple casts of characters make things simple. that's valid as a writing choice.

however. GIVE THE BOY SOME GODDAMN FRIENDS. i s2g it's like canon lily. she just has the convenient muggle sister (bad relationship), snape (bad relationship, also he's in love with her which reinforces lily as Romantic Interest™ instead of a person), james (canonically, they apparently seem to be on bad terms until lily finally gives in and starts dating him, which, yuck), and harry (so lily can die for him!!)

(more ranting and the joys of regulus with friends under the cut)

whereas regulus, in contrast, tends to have walburga (bad relationship), sirius (estrangement), MAYBE narcissa (who is usually older than him by enough that she's already graduated from hogwarts), and james (JEGULUS)

there is absolutely no way that the entire house of slytherin was a complete monolith of asshole death eaters And Then Regulus, and personally i find it very dull as a narrative choice - even if it's a house full of asshole death eaters, regulus has been living with these people since the age of eleven. he's on a sports team. he has friends.

but i think frequently the reason he doesn't is because that makes it easy for him to be a damsel in distress who gets saved, insert jegulus, and when regulus gets swooped out of that Horrible Nasty Dungeon Full Of Slytherins, it doesn't leave any inconvenient loose ends, because he doesn't have any personal connections. the marauders (primarily sirius and james) never have to learn how to interact with regulus's friends. they can comfortably continue to be super anti-slytherin because regulus isn't 'like the rest of them,' so he's not REEEEEALLY a slytherin :)

(and regulus not being friends with any of the Asshole Death Eaters also conveniently makes him a very Pure character who has only ever been a victim and doesn't introduce any complex or nuanced moral questions to the narrative)

in general i just really hate when regulus is treated as an appendage of one of the marauders, and it happens all the time. that was a big driving force behind writing ttdl in the first place. i'm tired of regulus getting saved sjflsghjsgjkdhkjsf and i'm tired of him just being characterized however is convenient to the marauders

and i do STRONGLY BELIEVE that regulus had friends. maybe he wasn't ✨super popular✨ like ✨sirius and james✨ but like?? that's not a requirement to have friends???

and the slytherin quidditch team is a SLYTHERIN. TEAM. they are going to be both aggressively competitive (regarding the other teams) and AGGRESSIVELY TEAM-ORIENTED (because that's how you fucking wIN). ambition does not mean 'everyone for themself' (we don't have time to get into That canon theme) and IF SOMEONE DOESN'T PLAY WELL WITH OTHERS, THEY ARE HURTING SLYTHERIN'S CHANCES AT WINNING. IT IS A TEAM SPORT.

and like!! they have early morning practices together!! they eat breakfast together because Nobody Else Is Awake!! they work together and they respond viciously if one of them gets hurt and they have BONDED. regulus thinks of himself as being a little bit isolated from the rest of the team but that is the result of HIS OWN ISSUES WITH SELF WORTH and *REGARDLESS* OF THAT, HE STILL IS PERFECTLY AWARE THAT THEY'RE ALL FRIENDS

plus regulus is so much more fun with friends. he needs an outlet for all that drama. he wrote an incredibly elegant 'fuck you' note in a fake locket that he bothered to stash in the basin - LIKE???? HE COULD HAVE JUST TAKEN THE REAL LOCKET AND BLOWN UP THE CAVE???????

and i love regulus being best friends with barty because barty is similarly dramatic and they make the best team. especially when it comes to taking down people they hate. i LOVE the idea of them meeting in first year and both of them immediately going 'ok. mine now' and they are just choosing each other relentlessly from the beginning - and i ESPECIALLY love it because of the difference in their backgrounds, which makes them complete opposites on the surface but the same underneath (which i am a huge fan of as a character dynamic in general alghksgjhkjsdkf, you can see it all over the place in ttdl)

anyway im a huge proponent of 'give regulus his own life instead of just putting him in convenient stasis until the marauders show up.' even if you DO intend to have him sort of merge with the marauders and end up in a relationship with james, it'll be so much more interesting if regulus has his own history and social circle that the marauders have to reckon with, and it puts him on much more equal footing in that relationship, instead of just having it be 'savior/saved'

Welcome to New York — okay i honestly can’t believe I hold myself off and started w this. always thought this was a great opener and HONESTLY sounds really close w the og. I LOVE the production, not my fav song on the album though lol, 8/10

Blank Space — THIS SOUNDS SO CRISP OH MY GOD. there's something different from the og BUT I LOVE IT. 9/10

Style — THIS ALSO SOUNDS SO CRISP TOO. god i love the maturity in her voice SO GODDAMN MUCH. always will be one of my favs on this album. YOU GOT THAT!! JAMES DEAN!! DAYDREAM!! LOOK IN YOUR EYE!! just perfect. 9/10

OVERALL; I think this is BY FAR my favorite re-recording. I love all of them with my entire heart but THIS ONE IS JUST SO SPECIAL AND IMM SOOO HAPPY TAYLOR FINALLY OWNS IT. JUST A MASTERPIECE. my only ONLY problem is some of the production in some of the songs. i loved the changes. and I LOVE what she did. and I LOVE JACK ANTONOFF FOR GIVING US AMAZING SONGS. but the production sounds a bit off in these songs :(( i think max martin and shellback should've also produced more of them. miraculous awakening

alright i watched the ml movie and, though it is flawed, i actually really loved it (i didn't expect it 'cause i've seen so many rather negative reviews). and there was something truly special in watching the movie in the cinema with people who love miraculous just as much as i do and even more. there were a lot of people around my age ( over 20 yo) and not so many children. (one little girl was dressed as ladybug, so cute)

i have some thoughts about the movie i'd like to share. there'll be some 📌SPOILERS📌 ahead.

😻what i liked about the movie😻:

🐞it is just so incredibly beautiful. a masterpiece, honestly.

🐞it was really fun, i laughed a lot (even though not all the jokes are good)

🐞LADYNOIR! that's all. just them. (i didn't have high expectations about the movie but what i did expect was to see my sweetest loveliest ladynoir and i got what i wanted and even more). their song stronger together (plus forts ensemble) will forever be my favorite.

🐞the characters are great. marinette is adorable. she is clumsy and shy (a bit more than she is in the show)

but she is also brave and strong and heroic - all she needed was just to believe in herself. also i loved her interaction with adrien much better in the movie than in the show. she isn't cringy around him, isn't stuttering and isn't confusing her words and she isn't stalkering him!

🐞adrien is a sweet sad boy as adrien and a bit annoying as chat in the beginning, and i love him so soo much!

🐞alya is gorgeous as always. nino, stuttering around her show!marinette style is just hilarious! same, nino, same. she is a goddamn queen after all.

🐞gabriel. the man actually cares for his son. his remorse and redemption in the end - wow, that was soooo great (unless the last scene ruined it, but maybe not - didn't really get what was it all about).

🐞the final battle. masterpiece.

😾and there were also things i didn't like about the movie😾:

🐞explanation of magic powers. ladybug doesn't have her lucky charm which means that up until the last battle (when she got a power-up) she wasn't able to fix the damage and left city in ruins.

🐞adrien didn't get the chance to deserve his miraculous, plagg just chose him without any explanation given. of course i get it that marinette is the very main character here but really? they couldn't spend five minutes to show adrien helping master fu or something? 

🐞plagg. oh boy. what happened to you. farting jokes? really??

🐞the songs are good but not so memorable. like a compilation of any disney movie song i've ever heard before. 

🐞the identity reveal. i know we're all tired of waiting for it to happen in the show. but the movie feels rushed and to me it needed more screen time. or a few more movies. i really wanted more love square drama before the reveal. 'cause ladybug seems to have feelings for chat noir (especially it is obvious in the stronger together song, even though she rejects chat), but adrien isn't remotely in love with marinette by the time of the reveal.

🐞also what happened to gabriel in the end? everyone knows he was a hawkmoth but did he go to jail or something? 

🐞and what was the last scene about? is he back to his evil shit or will nathalie be the next villain?

anyway, i loved it💖

Soo I know mcc is not as hyped up or popular as it was a few years ago, but I still find it great and cannot wait for it to come back. Therefore, for this hiatus, here are 3 winning povs I recommend to watch! I am pretty proud of this list bc I included all 3 seasons and 12 different players! It s a pretty self-indulgent list, buuut i think they are all great and all deserve a watch if you have not before

Season 1: MCC 9 Blue Bats (Hbomb, False Symetry, Rendog and Fruitberries). Out of all the teams of this list, this one is by far the most famous, and they absolutely deserve this fame! After all, its impact in mcyt is incredible, the only other teams that are as remembered are probably mcc 4 Purple Pandas (the sbi team) and mcc 17 Orange Ocelots, and it was the 1st time the hermits won mcc. The Blue Bats 9 were the ultimate underdogs, and each member of the team proved to everyone how freaking good they are in the coolest way posible. Also, the vibes were so, so good, and it was just a really epic event. It is been more than 2 years, and I still think those survival games are the best there has been in mcc history. Finally, I am pretty sure this team indirectly caused Hbomb being in vault hunters and freaking treebark, so good for em. And I could go on and on about this team, but there is a reason I am writing this in Ria´s blog lol, just scroll down!! You won´t regret it! In summary, obligatory watch and the definition of a legendary win. (Ren please come back, we all miss you. Especially False.)

Season 2: MCC 23 Orange Ocelots (Quig, Eret, Inthelittlewood and F1nnister). Look. I feel like crazy every time I say this team is incredible bc no one else seems to get it. But this pov is the definition of vibes. This team is made up of 4 random ccs who had almost no contact to each other before the event, it was the 1st time some of them even talked. And still they had the most wholesome, fun vibes ever. They were just so supportive of each other (Quig and Eret were really into getting Martyn his 1st win bc they watched him when they were kids, that was so cute), and it is so obvious they did not expect to win, it was such a close event with a lot of strong teams that in theory were better than orange. I think they were in 6th place until the 5th game or so. But still they did it by being absolute badasses and having some of the best communication I have ever seen in mcc (that parkour tag is just beautiful). Also they all really deserved that win, period. Both Quig and Finn seem to have left mcc very soon after this event, and Eret and Martyn have not teamed up again since, and this is literally my Roman Empire :(. Look people, just watch mcc 23, most povs from that event were a blast, apart from Orange I really recommend Red (the other team in dodgebolt, who did incredibly well and also deserved to win), Lime and Purple

Season 3: MCC 31 Red Rabbits (Jojosolos, OllieGamerz, CapitanGato and Shadoune). Okay, this one is kind of tricky to recomment bc for most of the event they talk in Spanish, BUT. I am Hispanic, and this mcc meant a lot. It was just so cool to see people who talked in my first language in an event I had loved for so long. As I have seen some confusion about this, I will clarify that Shadoune is not Hispanic, he s French, but he speaks Spanish very well and has been a part of that side of the mc community for long, so he s adopted i guess lol. But yeah, this team was amazing, I will never get tired of seeing Jojo dominate and prove the goddamn reddit wrong. She is just such a cool player. Her leadership skills are unmatched, like that team included two brand new players, and Shadoune had only played once. And they still won!!! The vibes were excellent. Ollie has become a player I always look forward to, he s just very chill and he was so proud of himself that mcc for knowing the "lore" (aka writing weird dunk in chat). I will never not laugh at Gato doing a 1v3 in dodgebolt and not realizing how big of a deal that is lmao. And Shadoune had to deal with a lot of technical issues during the event, but he was still great. Also, he has a very fun personality, I like seeing such a good and competitive player, basically a legend in the Hispanic circles of minecraft, being as enthusiastic as he is. During the irl mcc event he was basically jumping from happiness :)

Okay, long post, but I wanted to talk about some of my favourite teams (there are many other great ones!). I think sometimes we look back and only remember the drama and discourse, and it is true it has been so many events they might not seem as special anymore. A lot of iconic players have left as well. But we have had lots of incredible moments. A lot of new, great players have joined relatively recently and are so excited to show the community what they are capable of: Impulse, Owen, FireBreathMan, Bekyamon, DarkEyebrows, Wallibear... Like people, players who are now iconic participants such as Purpled, Scar and Jojo did not join until well into season 2! Show the newbies your love! The non-canon events have also been great (pride, scuffed my beloved, party, twitch rivals). I look forward to the future :)

Sorry for using your blog for my rant, it is just the local newspaper for me hehe. You are more than free to not awnser if you feel like it, I just wanted to write my thoughts somewhere lmao
