Something that just occurred to me right now is the fact that Nat, who ALWAYS exhausted herself to make her mom feel better, who always tried to be perfect in front of her mom, and whose whole world turned around her mother, was named Sugar for a mistake she made, and it was her mother's way to mock her. She loveeed to tell people "you know why we call her Sugar?"

That most have been so hurtful for her. To hear the woman who destroyed your childhood, mental health and self-esteem, make a nickname out of your mistake, ignoring completely the thousands of ways in which she tried to be perfect.

But what I love the most is that his brothers (Richie included, I ALWAYS include Richie as a Berzatto sibling) and close friends call her Sugar out of love. They don't think about her mistake. They don't use it to mock her. They took that nickname that was born out of cruelty and turned it into a loving way to express their affection.

And I think that's so beautiful 💜
