#SG1: Into the Fire

I could say a lot about this shot. I could talk about the fact that the visual association of the Tok’ra in the white suit should have been a dead giveaway that she was on “our side” since that’s how we’ve chosen to dress SG-1.

Or, I could talk about the blue and how it helps achieve a sense of COLD (this was also used in Solitudes).

But mostly, I just want to talk about lighting. An embrace in the foreground, always awaiting its moment but in shadow, while the battle waged on in the light. There’s no time for more because the Tok’ra has the spotlight. This is how I imagine it felt for them most days while they waited for the moment that what they felt for each other could actually be important. And in spite of the obvious spotlight in their peripheral vision, they CANNOT see her. They only see each other.

I keep adding to this post because the more I look at it, the more obvious it is that they are everything to each other.

The way Daniel goes from "I'm being kidnapped" to "oh shiny mystery and something to discover" is just the best.

Daniel’s eulogy in Fire and Water:

“Daniel Jackson made this place happen.  As a member of SG-1, he was our voice, our conscience.  He was a very courageous man.  He was a good man. For those of us lucky enough to have known him, he was also a friend.”

I’ve always loved Jack’s speech. He’s not usually a man of many words, but what he says is simple yet very meaningful.

Anyone wonder which address they dialed to send this wreath?

Do you ever think about the fact that both Jack and Sam would have goa’uld implantation scars on the back of their necks?

And do you ever think about the fact that Sam’s neck scar happened while Jack was imprisoned by Ba’al?

When do you think Jack noticed her scar?

Do you think it might have been while he was detoxing from the sarcophagus? Do you think Sam might have been sitting with him while he detoxed, despite his protests? And do you think she was leaned over a laptop next to him in one of his more lucid moments? And maybe the infirmary light caught the scar on the back of her neck just so?

Kept getting over heated last night and had a BUNCH of weird dreams. At one point the the blonde boy from red white and royal blue was there, so then the plot of my dream fully STOPPED and it became an actual truvada commercial. IN my dream. Trying to sell me truvada. With the music from the real commercials and everything. And then the dream continued as normal about other things

One of the seminal songs for the sequel to AGDBITD. Also just very good.

This one I was surprised by because I don't think I ever put it on specifically, so if it's played a lot it's just by chance. Having said that, it is on my playlist for the sequel to AGDBITD, my Sam/Jack playlist, and my Faves playlist.
