In some twisted since, Sunnie was glad to be back in school again. It gave her some sort of regular schedule that she’d been lacking since the end of promotions, and entering university made her courses all the more exciting and a new challenge to tackle. It didn’t take long for her to gravitate towards the library to churn out whatever early work that she could, but the unwelcomed attention led to her putting more energy into hiding out than into reading. “Some obnoxious first year snapping photos of me. Making snide little comments like she doesn’t look like a pig that somehow found its way out the meat grinder,” she answered, not at all surprised to hear some sort of protest. Familiarity was the reason she chose to steal Haneul’s room, anyway. “I’m just in here for like, ten minutes. Until she gets bored and leaves.”
Haneul pushed the door open with her shoulder, juggling her books and binders in her arms. She was seriously behind on schoolwork and she’d booked a very specific room in the library - the only one with no windows, to eliminate the possibility of distraction as much as possible. When she finally got in, though, there was someone already in there, books all over the table and taking up her reserved space. “Excuse me, what are you doing in here? I have this room booked.”

Sunnie only shrugged. Sometimes she agreed with Luna, but there were times where it felt like the other three had shot up to fame and recognition while she was stuck trailing behind in the life she’d already known. It didn’t help that she was still working in a coffee shop while her best friend was doing cover shoots. “Well, I don’t know what you expected there. There are thousands of better places to eat,” was all that she was willing to allow herself to say after a moment of silence, not wanting to annoy the other with the agreement and her constant tangents on health. “How often do famous people get kidnapped? They’re famous, they’d be spotted pretty quickly,” she protested, eyes narrowed as she attempted to make sense of it. “Well if you’d like to trade places with me and be the visual hole that makes lattes all day, then by all means, just say the word.” She tried to not sound bitter and jealous, but with a year of pent up aggression, it was hard not to. It was nice to be able to have such strong control over their music, since it gave her one more thing to obsess over to the point of perfection, but it sometimes made her feel more like a TKO producer than a member of her own group-- or at least, only when she was stupid enough to read through forum comments. “If we leave early, do you think Soojung’ll notice? I’d really rather be working than this... relaxing or whatever.”
“ALTHOUGH it doesn’t suck too much now that people do know our names.” Just as fast as the words had left her mouth she was quick to take them back. “Nevermind. As much as I appreciate our fans, which you know I truly do, they can be overbearing. I miss being able to eat a normal fucking meal at Taco Bell without having people say ‘’unnie~ you’ll get fat’’.” Just the memory of a similar encounter made Luna roll her eyes from underneath her sunglasses. “Hey! You never know about the whole kidnapping thing, Sunnie. The world’s a strange and messed up place.” Luna let out another long sigh, fingers digging through the space in between the cushion to dig out her cellphone. She scrolled through her messages, looking at the exchange with their manager. “It’s really nothing too special, I guess. It just paid really well… the personal profit would’ve been significant.” Not like she needed it anyways. “But I have another one lined up, I don’t really want it though… I want to be more involved in music. I have so much to show but all anyone wants to do is look at my pretty face.” How much longer until their album was finally put together? Luna didn’t know at this point. The pair of them had been working themselves to the bone trying to put something amazing together, something they could be absolutely proud of.” She almost made the mistake of pushing her sunglasses off, hands hesitating on her lap as she locked her phone. Luna swallowed thickly, mentally kicking herself for almost exposing her bloodshot eyes. “Just a little bit longer, my sunshine. We’ll be back to work soon enough.”

“I don’t eat anything I didn’t make myself. So yes, I plan on starving until I get home. If you’re really that interested in treating me, you can take me for coffee.” Again, if she had a thousand won-- but, she was certain of the fact that day would never come for her, so she wouldn’t bother to humor the idea any longer. “No. I need my eyesight for my career, I can deal with heartburn. You’re just gonna whine about it like a baby,” Sunnie teased, wasting no time at taking the steps needed to finally leave that eyesore of a store. The opportunity to mock someone was one that Sunnie rarely turned down, but there was only so much she was willing to put herself through for a few laughs and moments of self-satisfaction. “God, you and I both. I think we just need to stop coming to this mall completely. See some new sights... They see heads turning and think they look great. I guess some people are that desperate for attention.”
Minchan just laughed as Sunnie whipped her head around, he found the way she reacted too amusing to not keep bugging her continuously. “I know you are on a diet, you remind me of that quite often. And I obviously wouldn’t have taken you to some fast food place. Please, my taste is better than that. Maybe I would’ve even let you choose what to eat. But if you just want to starve…” He shrugged, a grin still on his face. “A heartburn. Can we change, I’m pretty sure I can deal with that more than wanting to bleach my eyes to forget it.” He mumbled, staring at the hideous attire the woman was wearing before he linked his arms with Sunnie and started dragging her out of the shop. “I need to look at something aesthetically pleasing, or I swear to god I’m going to cry. Why, just why can’t people look in the mirror before leaving their houses, why do they have to make us suffer…” He couldn’t stop himself from whining, it was that bad.

Playful but honest jeers about Luna looking like an utter douchebag with her sunglasses on were on the top of Sunnie’s tongue, but for once she let tact take the wheel and kept them to herself. She probably already knew, anyway. “It was just so much fun... No one knew our names or what we were saying half the time but they still listened.” As nice as the nostalgia was, she didn’t want to relive her trainee years, fights with her family and sleepless nights and the restlessness that only made her wonder if she and Luna were ever going to debut at all. “I dunno about kidnapped. Not with all those witnesses-- maybe just attacked or something. Mauled by whackos.” Far from comforting words, but she was never one to forgo honesty for comfort. Her response was equal parts humored snort and sigh of relief, glad that she wasn’t the only one wishing she was elsewhere. “You’re insane, I would’ve went to that.” Cover shoots for a rookie came few and far between, but their invitation would only be extended year after year. “No. I can’t fucking stand these people. I don’t know if I hate them more or the cold, and you know how much I hate being cold.”
Luna was curled up in the resident big chair, sunglasses covering her eyes (even though she was indoors. She may or may not have spent last night with her forehead pressed against the resort’s bar. ) Her eyes were lazily trained on Sunnie, head nodding slowly as she recalled the memory. “Even when we were supposed to be enjoying our free time we were promoting ourselves.” She grinned, if only for a moment, before sighing. Sometimes she wished she could go back to those days. “It wouldn’t be much of a good idea either. Without our manager or security it could turn out to be dangerous. I’m not too fond of getting kidnapped.” She had to think about it for a split second before answering with a casual ‘not really’. Maybe the trip would’ve been a lot more tolerable had she been roomed with Sunnie. “I gave up a cover shoot for this so I’m kind of super bummed.” But on the bright side it had been a lot easier for her to sneak around and get up to no good. “You having any fun?”

For someone constantly in the spotlight, with years of training that should have left her knowing what to say and what not to say, Sunnie didn’t display it at all. It was in her nature to say the first thing that came to mind, and no amount of lecturing could possibly change that-- most people got annoyed with it immediately, but the few people that managed to enjoy it were the ones that she willingly kept around. “I can appreciate beauty, and that’s definitely not it,” she retorted, whipping her head around in the ever so dramatic nature that came to her with ease, hoping to avoid the sight for the rest of her days. “Uh, yeah. I’m on a diet, I’m not gonna eat it just because it’s free.” If she had a hundred won for every time she had to remind people of this, she’d probably actually have the money to buy what she wanted. Though somewhat reluctant to turn around after the last horror she had to witness, Sunnie couldn’t resist the temptation of seeing something potentially worse-- and oh, it definitely was worse than the shirt. “Oh my god, I think that just gave me heartburn. We need to go before I spontaneously combust.”
Shopping with Sunnie had always been very fun. It was one of Minchan’s most favorite things to do, they always just ended up judging terrible crimes against fashion. And he also loved making Sunnie suffer with pulling out the ugliest clothes and shoving them in her face. Her reactions were always priceless. “It’s not my fault you can’t appreciate the beauty in the seemingly most hideous shirt I’ve ever seen.” Minchan rolled his eyes dramatically, before a grin broke out on his face, and he quickly put the shirt back to it’s place. “Come on, do you think I believe you’d leave me when I offer free lunch after we’re done here?” He chuckled, his eyes scanning the shop, looking for another horrible thing to show her. When his eyes spotted a woman in a very questionable hot pink - red - orange attire, he poked Sunnie. “Look at that.”

“You couldn’t even pay me to wear that.” There were certain things that Sunnie was unwilling to joke and exaggerate about, money being one of them, but the garment held in front of her was a clear exception to that policy. “Please tell me you’re not going to buy that. If you buy that, we can’t be friends anymore. It’ll pain me, but I’ll have to erase you completely from my life.” She placed a hand across her heart as she continued her tangent, feigning pure hurt and offense on her face-- if she wasn’t turning heads when she walked into the store, she definitely was now. “Actually, if you try it on I might just have to walk home. I’ll do it, Minchan, I’m wearing sneakers for once.”

For someone so quick to condemn others for their supposedly wrong opinions and take criticisms to heart, Sunnie was, admittedly, an awfully judgmental person. It was something she had to take a step back and think about with how quick she was to assume that Doojoon was going to show her something that was a complete mess, only for it to end up being something that she wanted. “Yeah, I think it’s cute. And I haven’t seen a lot of people with that one, or any at all, so it’ll be even better.” She nodded firmly, pointing to the computer screen as she spoke. At the mention of finding one for her, the idol perked up, grinning widely in response. “Can you? I really want one now. I can’t believe I’ve gone this long without one.”
It wasn’t really a problem Doojoon usually encountered, him asking for people’s opinions. He only really did it on occasions where he just wasn’t sure what to do. Having said that, he was always one to think about what others would perceive him like, this coming from being judged in the past. But he would think that everyone had a similar story to tell. A stoke of worry crossed his face as she began to talk but it quickly subsided. It was a nice feeling when someone else agreed with you about something. ‘’Do you really think so?!’’ Doojoon was just happy to see someone else who shared his views on this sort of thing. ‘’It’s so cute, I have similar things to this but nothing like this one.’’ He turned back to the computer screen, starting to search through links again. ‘’Want me to see if there’s a dog one? I mean there probably is if I look around.’’ The boy couldn’t hide the bright smile that was still clinging onto his face as he talked.

Sunnie had lived in Korea for years now, but the cold weather was still a no-go for her, knocking skiing out of the picture. She was in no mood to party around people she had to pretend to tolerate, and there was no way in hell that she’d be eating food that she didn’t prepare for herself, leaving her with very few options that didn’t cost money. Staying in her room all day got to be boring, even with the cutest pug in all existence to keep her company and her phone and staff paper to keep herself occupied. All that was left was the gym, and the indoor pool on that same note.
Much to her relief, there was no one utterly obnoxious occupying the space, only one person that Sunnie was able to recognize as a fellow Starlet. Beyond that, she was basically a stranger. “I’m surprised this place is as empty as it is.” A poor attempt at small talk, but she wasn’t one to just sit in silence. “You’re-- acting major, right? Sorry, I’m not too good with names since I haven’t formally started at the university yet.”
Dana wasn’t one to ski, or even come to these types of party events for that matter, but a free vacation with all expenses paid? Of course she was going to go. What’s the point of going to a ski resort if she couldn’t ski though? Oh whatever, she was sure she could find something else to do. So there she was, avoiding the crowd by setting herself up in the pool room.
It had only been a few minutes since Dana had pushed herself into the hot tub, when the water shifted and a small splash sound of a foot hitting the water was heard. Dana opened her eyes, looking up at the other, curious as to know who it was.

It was supposed to be a vacation, but it didn’t feel anything like it. Sure, Sunnie knew that her presence was valid-- the entirety of L:OVELESS was invited after all, but just the thought of having to deal with all the obnoxious brats she couldn’t even stand on campus when she could be at home working was repulsive. So she did as she always did-- cling to her best friend, though part of her felt that it wasn’t being reciprocated as much as normal. “Remember how we used to spend all these trips busking before we debuted? It wasn’t all that long ago, but it really feels like it,” she mentioned, chin rested in her hands as she looked up at Luna from her spot on the bed. Where she was going with it, even she wasn’t sure, but she needed to say something to put an end to the silence. “I kind of wish we could do something like that here, but we’re too close to home, I think. Those were really kind of the only reason I ever went. Are you enjoying yourself here any?”

“good... alright, thank you.” sunnie nods slowly, feeling relief for a short moment before the realization hits that it meant jace could be anywhere. at best, he’d be waiting for her at her room, a thought that was enough to ease her worries for the time being. she only raises her eyebrows somewhat, all thoughts about missing being able to drink without public consequence leaving her head immediately. being that loser with a bottle of water works just fine for her. “yeah, that’s me. and you’re kyunghwan? good to meet you.” she grins, holding her hand out for him to shake. “ah--depends on what song it is. but probably not. if i was embarrassed to hear any of our songs, it wouldn’t have made it onto the album in the first place.”
“oh, jace.” he blinks, rubbing the back of his neck with a palm. “yeah, haven’t seen him either. texted him too but he never replied. i don’t think he was ever at the party to begin with.” eyes narrow after a pause. god, if he sneaked off with his booze… “oh, right.” taking back the glass from her, he tips his head back as he finishes it off for her. “ah, damn. that’s…” that was strong. he crinkles his nose at the burn he feels at the back of his throat before grinning down at her. “you’re sunnie, right? pretty sure there’s a l:oveless song in the playlist.” he points lazily towards the speakers. “would it be embarrassing for you if it started playing?”

“no, not at all. i thought it was jace’s, but i didn’t see him anywhere and he’s not answering my texts. i’m guessing he’s not here, so i can just see myself out?” she’s speaking fast out of nervousness, but not because of the person in front of her. it’s how worried she is about her friend’s wellbeing and whereabouts that’s freaking her out, considering on any other occasion he could probably fall in a ditch and she’d laugh for a good ten minutes before the concern kicks in. “ah, no thank you-- i don’t drink. just water is fine.” she shakes her head almost erratically, trying to hand the glass back to him before someone takes notice. rookie girl group leader taking part in underage drinking? she’d be slaughtered before they even make it back to daejeon. “yeah, didn’t really end all too well for him, did it? just stay away from married women with crazy husbands and you’re golden.”
oooh, a celebrity. you’d think people would be used to seeing one after studying with them in mokwon, but that doesn’t seem to be the case. starstruck, no. but he knows how they play. pressing his back onto the wall and turning to look at her, he cocks a brow. “yeah, problem?” following her gaze towards the door, he places a hand on the door knob with a grin on his face. “- here, have a drink.” he pushes his cup into her hand before snatching another for himself. “yeah, but i’m not the type to not show up to my own party. i’m not all about that gatsby shit.”

walking into a party hadn’t been her intentions, but here she is, and after being spotted a few times by people it’s gotten increasingly difficult for sunnie to try and sneak out. every time she’s tried it, she’s been pulled aside for pictures, and her latest attempt at inching towards the door has been stopped by another one of the rulers. “this is your party?” oddly enough, the information comes as a relief, one less worry to carry on her shoulders-- possibly, not unless her imagination starts to screw her over. she lets out a heavy exhale, eyes still focused on the exit. “better fashionably late than never, i guess.”
“yikes,” there’s a quick inhale of breath as he enters his room; half full of his guests, and half full of people he don’t know. grabbing a glass of something (probably a strong mix of liquor. he can tell by just a whiff) from the bar, he sits next to the other. “is it bad that i’m late to my own party?” he drawls.

Someone claiming that there’s something important to show or tell always leads to bad thoughts, yet always ends up being nothing nearly serious-- but still, Sunnie can’t help but worry when that’s the first topic of conversation besides hello, yes I’m that Sunnie, no there’s no intentional cameras floating around. Still, she follows the older female to the room, since even if she is some crazy druggy it’s not like Sunnie has a choice but to room with her for a week. She’s already planned to keep her door locked just in case, and though small she is deadly-- but those thoughts of defense leave her mind as soon as she locks eyes with the love of her life, the cutely dressed pug waiting in the middle of the room. “Oh. My. God,” is all she manages to let out, in English at that, as she stares down at the dog with an intense sense of admiration. Bruno starts to walk her way, and the grin on her face only grows wider as she crouches down on the floor to meet him. “He’s so cute, I’m gonna die! Can I hold him?”
puggle smuggle.
“Okay, so I’m only showing you this because I feel like as your roomie it’s only right that I do.” Minhee says this slowly, before catching herself with mild embarrassment. “It’s not drugs or anything like that, so don’t worry.” Because she probably looks rather strange right now, backing into her room, creaking her door open. “Meet Bruno.” Is all she says, and in that moment there was a trit-trotting of nails as Bruno the pug revealed himself from behind the door. His tiny tail wagged with excitement, tongue lolling out, eyes round like a puppy’s as he heads straight towards Sunnie. Minhee simply watches on with an adoring grin, unable to contain herself because the little guy is just so adorable. “His partner is with Miyeon. We adopted the pair just a few weeks ago, so we couldn’t just leave them behind.”

Sunnie pointed a finger in his direction to signify her agreement. People had the right to be selfish from time to time, and if that meant buying a potentially ugly shirt that would never get worn, so be it. You had to take every fleeting moment of satisfaction that you could get in this world. “People are just naturally concerned with what others think of them, social beings and whatnot. Some people more than others, I guess,” she reasoned with a casual shrug of her shoulders. Personally, she didn’t see anything wrong with wondering what other’s thought, seeing as she was more than guilty of letting a third party’s opinion run her life. But, contracts are contracts, and it’s kind of what she signed up for before debut. She had to brace herself for the horror that was about to come when he turned his screen her way, only for her to be relieved. “That’s it, are you kidding me? It’s cute, I’d so wear that if it was a dog or something. I think you should get it! It’s not all over the top or anything, I like it.”
‘’I agree with you completely. Sometimes you’ve just got to spend money on yourself to make you happy, this is probably one of those times.’’
He hated to admit it, but she was right. Whether or not other people liked it, the decision came down to Doojoon alone. He was unsure where the thought processes of asking other people’s opinions came from. Maybe it was the fact that he didn’t want to wear clothes that made him seem weird? But that judgement was probably something that had already been made when someone spends an extended amount of time with him. ‘’You’re exactly right. Although I don’t have a reason as to why I refer to people’s opinions when thinking of things to buy.’’ In response to her question he moved his laptop over slightly, so she could see fully what they were in fact talking about. ‘’The sweater has a image of a cat on it, not really anything spectacular. As you can see it’s pretty much a cartoon representation of a cat. Usually the one’s I’ve seen have real cats on it and that seems kind of different to me.’’

“Well, yeah.” There was once a time where she was working there every single day, after all. With the number of people that shuffled in and out of the doors during the day, it wasn’t hard to remember the crowd of people that came back often and left an impression. Sunnie had the face down, but not necessarily the girl’s name, and she didn’t bother to mention that and make the situation any more awkward than it already probably was for her. She could only pray that she’d pay with a card and that would give her a chance to glimpse at her name. “Nothing wrong with that! I’d probably come here all the time if I didn’t already work here,” she reasoned with a shrug. Even if she did enjoy being spiteful towards her mother, the coffee was good. She took note of the girl’s subtle change in tone, all too familiar with it herself, but with the same reasons as before she chose not to bring it up. Heart to hearts held the line up, while she could take a break whenever she wanted at this point. “A white chocolate mocha’ll probably cheer you up. Ah, I’ve been good-- busy as always, but I can’t complain about that.”
Rami looked up at the voice that greeted her as soon as she stepped into her favourite cafe. “Y-You remember me?” she asked curiously. She mentally counted the number of times she has been here since she found this place and wondered if she had really came here so frequently that even people around here remembers her. “Gosh, I must have been here too often,” she blurted, with a sheepish grin on her face. “I guess i have been alright,” Rami answered with a tint of sadness in her voice, “what about you? have you been busy these days?”

“It’s a treat to yourself, just think of it that way. Every once in a while isn’t a bad thing.” Sunnie glanced over in the direction of his computer, trying to discreetly get a look of exactly what kind of animal shirt he was talking about-- though maybe that wasn’t the smartest choice, considering she had no idea whether she’d be able to keep whatever judgments she had off her face. “Things like that are sort of trendy. All the sweaters and socks and stuff that have the prints all over it. Food and a bunch of random stuff?” Her statement came out as more of a question. Those sort of things were deemed tacky in her book, and she tried to block them from her mind as much as physically possible. If that was his sort of thing, she didn’t care much to comment-- there were crowds of people that enjoyed those sort of items, celebrities included, and at the end of the day it didn’t affect her any considering she didn’t have to be seen in public with him. “Obviously if someone’s selling it, then there’s interest somewhere... Though you should be getting it based on your opinions and not other people’s. What exactly are you looking at?”
Doojoon hadn’t really been paying attention to the person he asked the question to, but when he did he was in for quite the shock. He wasn’t expecting to see a member of L:OVELESS sitting next to him, aka one of his favourite groups to date. Playing it cool would be the best scenario, he didn’t want to come off as a fan that pried too much, she probably wanted to be left alone in that regard anyway. He assumed that she must of been into this sort of thing because she directed her words at him and didn’t tell him to sod off or anything like that. ‘’That’s what I was thinking initially, but then I don’t know….’’ Looking towards his screen again he clicked onto another page, eyeing the clothes in that section. ‘’I mean, they’re quite ugly but the good kind of ugly, you know?’’ It was all true, kittens and cats were on the various shirts and sweaters and they just oozed cuteness but the sickly kind of cuteness. The kind that could probably turn of anyone who didn’t like that sort of thing.

She was only on campus for the sake of convenience. Ordering the books and materials she needed for her upcoming set of courses was proving to be more difficult than she originally expected, requiring the help of some of the librarians and workers at the bookstore. Hours had passed by the time she had everything arranged, and with an upcoming shift at Momento, it would be pointless to head back to the L:OVELESS dorms just to turn right back around. This alone was the only reason she even would allow herself to be seen in Mokwon’s computer lounge. The headphones in her ear should have been a clear enough sign that she wanted to be unbothered, but of course that never stopped people from bothering her anyway-- and the only reason she even gave her attention to it was because it involved clothes, her truest weakness. “I mean...” she muttered, jerking one earbud from her ear as she listened. “If you want it, and you have the money for it, then get it. Not everything has to be a necessity to justify a purchase.” Yes, even for something as ugly as clothing with animals on it. “You’ll probably find a reason to wear it once you have it.”
Online shopping was nothing more than a curse to Doojoon. Typing away to find clothes that he probably wouldn’t even wear, but he ‘needed’ them for his wardrobe. The money in his bank account had recently increased and he felt like treating himself, which was something of a regular occurrence. He was never one to just waste money on things that he didn’t even need but he felt like splashing out this time. Searching his favourite online store he quickly found a variety of clothes that he liked. For whatever reason he had a soft spot for cats and puppies on t-shirts, maybe not the right thing for an eighteen year old to confess to liking. Looking over the prices he had yet found anything that he could actually justify buying. The best course of action in his mind was grab the attention of the nearest person to him and ask for their advice. ‘’Is it justifiable to buy something I might not wear? What would you then say if I told you it had a cat on it? Perhaps even a puppy?’’
