Actually you know what I’m not over this.

I Love how involved Cleo (sort-a kinda accidentally) ended up being for Etho’s task.

Etho literally asked her ‘hey, is it okay to put people in danger’ and after about two seconds of thought she was like ‘absolutely, as long as it’s not me.’ And you know what? He took that to heart.

There was no point in which Etho’s fire, Berry bushes, and pufferfish got anywhere near Cleo. And if you watch her episode: she wasn’t scared for herself in the slightest! Etho was purposely going around placing harmful things and she still just hung around him cause she trusted him.

(Side note, I love how concerned Cleo was during the pufferfish nonsense, laughing her head off yes, but concerned)

And then! And then Etho was holding the flint and steel, clearly debating using it, and Cleo just sidled on over and said ‘do it.’ Instant fire. She’s such an enabler I love it.

At the end Etho was doing the whole ‘I think… I think I did it?’ And Cleo, who’d pretty firmly caught on, was like ‘yes absolutely, let’s go turn it in’ and they just kept reassuring each other the Entire way to the secret keeper.

I just… she’s such an enabler and he’s so enabled it’s so fun to watch.

Yeah so I skipped to the final episode

And more importantly, to the Benedict and Eloise scenes.

First, Benedict is so next season. They pretty much confirmed it, with a shot of Benedict in a corridor, looking all broody and thoughtful, and LW giving a voiceover saying "let's look to the future." Oh yeah, he's next.

And Eloise is going to Scotland to see the world, so she can change it? HELL YES MY QUEEN IS BACK!

And I did get glimpses of Penelope scenes and....yeah....this is not Nicola's best work I'm sorry to say.

Spoiler warning but WHAT?! The movie just ends?? We only get half the plot in this one? NOTHING AT ALL IS RESOLVED BY THE END OF THE MOVIE, NOT A SINGLE PLOT POINT???! Actually, I take that back. Gwen makes up with her dad and he escapes the captain curse. There is exactly One (1) plot point resolved by the end of this movie.

in all seriousness, here’s i think what happened:

izutsumi: doesn’t have the memories before being turned into a beastman. rejects the floral name that was has given to her(asebi), gave herself a new name. izutsumi isn’t written in kanji, so it kind of gives off the vibe that it’s meant to look random/gibberish to the reader

kabru: his birth mother gave him a new name while hiding from his father’s family. presumably a very gender neutral name. he kept it.

When Senshi was young in the dungeon the majority of the adults he were with ostracized him. All except Gillin, who died to make sure Senshi had something to eat: unseasoned boiled meat that may or may not have been one of their comrades.

It really puts into perspective why he was so nurturing towards Chilchuck. When Chil reveals he’s 28 to the party, Senshi responds by telling him that he thought he was older. Senshi was in his 30s when he and his comrades got trapped in the dungeon, so it’s safe to assume that he thought Chil was at a similar age.

He met a young boy who was, from his perspective, forced to do dangerous work in the dungeon just like he was, and so, Senshi made an effort to look after Chilchuck in the same way Gillin looked after him.

Mind you, when Senshi was young in the dungeon he had to starve for weeks, eat the horse he loved, and finish it off spending the next i don’t know how many years wondering if he committed cannibalism.

Senshi understands first hand the value of nutrition and proper eating, so when he’s with the party he makes an effort to make sure they’re all eating a full and balanced diet. Not only that, but Senshi INVOLVES them in the process of getting food to eat, always preparing it in front of them and narrating every ingredient in the process so that there’s no doubt about what they’re eating.
